  1. What is FPS friendly varies on what effects are important to you and what kind of machine you have. Specs and more details please?
  2. I normally check the nexus every day so I am pretty up-to-date on mods, but I have been wondering, are there any nice classy armor mods? There are great lore friendly armors, as hothtrooper44 is putting them out faster than I can endorse and install them, and there is an abundance of armors if you like scantily clad women, but I feel there are no nice classy armors for males. Here is an example: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100621013147/monsterhunter/images/2/26/GuildArmor.png The male armor here is really nice. I know it's not necessarily lore-friendly, but are there any of that sort of armor? I really like Knight of Thorns, and with a gold retexture it looks superb, but other than that I am really hurting for that sort of armor. It's just personal preference and I wondered if perhaps I missed a great mod.
  3. Please post in mod troubleshooting next time:) That sort of thing is normally caused by the games internal brightness being set too high. Try going into the in game settings and turning the brightness down. Are you using an ENB? Sometimes a poorly made (not accusing) ENB, such as some of my pathetic attempts tend to do just that sort of bug. I know for sure that the Wilds ENB does not have this issue. And please, post your system specs :)
  4. The script fixes all the headings for me, but I still need to re-skele. I just had some errors with skeleton :) those tutorials solved a lot of problems. My awesome Witch King helmet is in game and working like a charm! I attached an image of it in-game. Thanks a bunch for your help! I can build from here to porting more and more complex armors, and hopefully start creating my own! I wanna give something back to the nexus community after these years of just downloading stuff. Once again, thanks for your help :)
  5. Kudos to you for finding these excellent tutorials! I found a great 3ds max script that does most of the work (converting texture paths to Bsshaderproperties, etc.) Thanks a bunch! I'll post and let you know if these solved my problems :)
  6. Sounds like a script thing since you don't have any mods. I would recommend using this utility, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6 BOSS autosort will analyze your mods, rearrange the load order, and present conflicts to you. I am guessing it is some script involved sneak behavior in one of your companion mods. If this utility doesn't fix it, back up your save and make a mod-free save to test if it is possibly the game itself rather than a mod causing the issue. Please let me know how it works out.
  7. I am pretty familiar with nifskope and I have 3dsmax 2012. I would like to port http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/4839, the_devil's_avarcardo's model of the witch king's helmet into Skyrim for personal use. I know how to import and export in 3ds max, but I don't know what do to in nifskope after that. I don't know what variables I need to change and what properties need replaced/added/removed. I can't seem to find any tutorials addressing this stage of porting, so I have no way to learn. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks, Brett
  8. You may be better off searching in the FO3 Mod Detectives Thread, as it is from a FO3 mod video. If the mod is for FO3, PM me if you need it ported, as I'd be glad to throw that together for you.
  9. It sounds like you need to edit some preferences in your Fake Fullscreen mod to get it to detect NVSE properly. To be honest, unless you really need performance, I wouldn't recommend Fake Fullscreen. But that's just me. I would recommend just using the 4GB made to work with nvse: http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip install and run that, it should work fine. I run EVE, WMX, Project Nevada, and a lot of other stuff with very few crashes using that launcher.
  10. Hey, the most popular (and only really effectually working) level cap raise is currently hidden and I have no idea if it will ever be unhidden. My character is already level 34 and I still have 3 DLC's and 75% of the quests to do. If you can provide me with a link to a working level cap boost that would be phenomenal. Thanks so much!
  11. There was some brief discussion, but none of their suggested methods worked, to my dismay. The only way I could solve this problem (as far as I know) would be to go into BIOS and make my 670m my primary and disable the 4000, which of course would sizably reduce performance for other games. I am able to use profile tweaks and a plethora of other goodies to get a similar result, but it looks like I won't be getting sharpshooter ENB. Kudos for your help though.
  12. I will try that, I added the proper card info to enbseries.ini but that failed. I'll add my results here in a few minutes. EDIT: The ini already had the proper information, the pref config says I am using my GTX 670, while the launcher and the game are definitely using the HD 4000
  13. Hey, I recently got a pretty high end gaming laptop, which has two GPU's in it. It has an Intel HD 4000 which runs all of my windows stuff, and a GTX 670m which is supposed to run all my gaming stuff, and it normally does. However, when I install the .dll for ENB, skyrim gets the horrible idea to try and run the game on the HD 4000. With ENB installed the only GPU detected by skyrim is my HD 4000. The nvidia is completely ignored and my game profile fails to take effect. If I remove the ENB .dll my skyrim runs with my nvidia preferences at ultra at a smooth 60+ FPS. One of the main reasons I purchased a high end system is so I could enjoy things like ENB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am sure to kudos all who help, It's probably an easy fix but I am not familiar with multi-GPU systems as this is my first. Thanks!
  14. Eduard Birkaya, I can give you some suggestions as to your requests. As far as graphics go, there are a ton of options, and it all depends on how good your rig is. For instance, mine is a mid range computer with a weaker processor so I can't run insane mods, but there are a few. First off, it's not really a big performance hit (for me) so I'd highly recommend http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13268 Water and Terrain Enhancement Redux This will make your water look absolutely gorgeous, although there are one or two slight blemishes it is an incredibly well done mod. Then, for only a teency-weency performance hit, I'd recommend http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7654 Realistic Lighting. It is a world of difference and though its a tad dark, it looks great. Really great. Finally, for blood n stuff there are two really good mods available on that front. Enhanced Blood Textures: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=60 Crimson Tide - Blood: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12798 I am personally using Crimson Tide right now, but enhanced blood textures has a grittier feel about it you may appreciate. Now, depending on your rig, you're gonna have to choose whether you value textures or post processing more. Maybe you can run both, I don't know. This is the most popular texture pack on the Nexus, and it looks nice and as you requested does not alter the vanilla art style. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=607 Skyrim 2k Textures I would recommend trying the lite version first, but then again, maybe you have a 590 and a solid state drive. This is in my opinion the best looking ENB (enhanced shaders) mod on the nexus, but it may not appeal to you. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15105 Sharpshooters Extreme Graphics Vision ENB If you really don't like the colorful-saturated look, you can always tweak the settings. This is a performance heavy mod, so be ready to lose 15+ FPS (I did at least) with these shaders. If you can't run these, simply PM me and I will help you improve your skyrims performance and show you mods that can achieve similar effects at lower performance cost. Other graphics mods include "Skyrim Flora Overhaul", "Lush Trees", "A Quality World Map - with Roads", "Detailed Faces v2", "Detailed Bodies", "Detailed Lips", and countless others. Simply PM me with more detailed requests if you have them, as I am moderately knowledgeable in the mod database. Gameplay, I mentioned above a good map mod. As for the inventory screens and tabs and what not http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3863 SkyUI is definitely what you need. I am not a big magic user but http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3413 Midas Magic - Spells in Skyrim is a great mod with a ton of spells with a good balanced gameplay. As far as combat I am afraid to say I havent really found any mods that really caught my eye, but as far as enemies go http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9694 Skyrim Monster Mod is going to be your best bet as far as improving them, and if you have the CPU http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9494 WARZONES - Civil Unrest is a fantastic mod adding challenging battles everywhere. Between those two and vanilla the passable combat mechanics are great fun in the bloody melees that frequently occur in the epic collision of random encounters. It can make survival rather difficult at lower levels though. For leveling up I'd suggest http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1175 Skyrim -Community- Uncapper This mod is highly customizable and will allow you to level to pretty much anything your heart desires. It also allows you to choose level ranges for increased perk points, for instance 1-10 get 1 point per level, 11-30 get 2, 31-50 get 3 or whatever set up you prefer. PLEASE READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION, you probably already know that but please do. Some of these require .ini tweaking and installing Skyrim Script Extender. Both are very easy processes and the authors give clear instructions. If you have questions, PM me. Oh, and for enchanting I'd recommend http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8065 Enchanting Freedom, which simply allows you to place any effects on any item. Its really fun, and allows for much more creativity as far as custom armor. If I missed anything you felt was vital, once again, PM me.
  15. Off topic: I have that same armor and love it! Anyways. Definitly go for 2k textures instead. Much better imo. Although ENB is also worth giving a spin, although it is a significant performance hit (for me at least). If you can run both at the same time Im sure the results would be phenomenal, but I can't run that with my rig. But I would definitly not recommend Bethesda's texture pack.
  16. Hey, I recently made a vampire character, and the eyes aren't changing, the "fix" mod didn't do the trick either, but its not a big deal. I'd like to give my character these eyes: http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/1148-1-1322027847.jpg, in other words, the hazel eyes with black. I don't know which texture file this is, it isn't the standard eyesvampire.dds or whatnot. A file name would be much appreciated!
  17. I had this problem before, it worked again when I updated SKSE and rebooted. I probably had a different error. Try running without mods and try a test save game. Then you can use that save game to systematically test out and see whats crashing it. The bug is hard to predict or replicate, at least for me. Also, try deleting your .ini and letting skyrim make a fresh one, that solved some problems for me before.
  18. Ok, my skyrim worked fine, with few crashes (only on rare bugs and after playing for more than 3 hours, not a big deal) , on high with a few tweaks. After a the first patch came out, I started getting the infamous sound glitch, but strangely enough, changing my sound quality to the recommended has not worked. I have updated all my drivers, reinstalled and tried different drivers, and all that good crap. I am on 32-bit windows professional (Its 64 bit compatible but the a**hole company I bought it from installed 32 bit and I need to get down to reinstalling sometime) with the unfortunately limited 3GB RAM, and a nvidia 9800gt 512MB. As more updates released, my sound got steadily more corrupt, and now it is to the point where it is just nasty, unintelligable crackling. This never happens with any other games, and I have played a lot of different games, although not deus ex or crysis as my computer isn't that good. The sound is very awful, and the worst part of it is, It crashes after any period between 30-90 seconds of loading in game. I have tried deleting all the files from my computer and redownloading and reinstalling (through steam, obviously) I have tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling skyrim, tweaking all the graphics every which way. here is the strange thing though: My sound works fine when the game is not the active window! The background noise continues playing whenever I minimize the game (fullscreen) or select another window (windowed mode) without the slightest bit of distortion! I really wanna play skyrim again, so any help would be phenomenal! It stopped working upon updating to 1.4
  19. Hey, I was researching some armor port or something and I found this website, "*snip*", it is a russian site, but google translate has improved somewhat and I can use the website with little difficulty. It appears to have a much smaller quantity of mods than nexus, but I do not know its uploading policy. Its quality of mods however, is astounding, I literally found myself downloading 15% of the mods I saw! (A lot for me!) I really recommend *snip*, which is a really nice remake of assassins creed's Romulus armor. I know Robin Scott wants modding to grow and he isn't selfish at all, so he won't mind smaller sites getting attention as well. I also found some nice player homes, Hand-fighting weapons, and some really cool mods Im surprised havent gotten more publicity. Even our beloved Tyrael armor can be found for skyrim here! I have seen a lot of popular mods on here as well such as CBBE and the like, so mod authors either know about the site or their work is being stolen (Then you should probably do something about that!) Anyways, it looks to be a great site, although registry is required to download, not premium gimmicks or survey crap has appeared to me in the 10 or so Ive downloaded. Thanks for your time!
  20. well, I did not mean to install 1.2, but I was out of town and steam decided to do it's dirty work while I was gone. At first i was having a wierd plroblem where the launcher would launch..... the launcher. but I fixed that and now, whenever I start it, it acs like normal, but the title screen appears to be infinitely loading the menu. just the emblem, and the animated smoke stuff, it is not frozen, it just appears not to be loading. The only mods other than retextures I have are: mo craftables meltdown increase skyrim performance non-playable armor enhanced skyrim shaders no CTD's or freezes, and all my other steam games work fine. Advice?
  21. I have been researching an internet censorship bill my government club has been discussing, and I though it was a serious issue and directly applied to all of us at Nexus. Watch this video which briefly summarizes the bill: This means the US government could remove nexus for US citizens just because someone posts a screenshot involving vanilla resources from Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout etc. as the site owner, Robin Scott is held liable for anything any of us posts on his website(s). This is not only an infringement upon our rights (which are still a privilege, and still must be fought for.) but it threatens the very lifestyles of so many of us. I mean nothing makes my day after knocking out a huge essay than entering dwemer ruins and finding a my little pony sleeping bag. By going to http://americancensorship.org/ you can sign up via e-mail and help represent the people here. Robin's sites have over 2 and a half million members, and though I know not nearly that many will see this post, a lot of people working a little can achieve a lot. Please share via Facebook, Blogs, and all that good stuff. I have been contacting people around the web (not spamming mind you, just contacting those I know who hold an audience) and trying to help some of us get our heads out of the sand. Please make an effort here, it is always easy to just say things will work out for the best, and justice will prevail, but if we don't step up now, well we need to represent. Cheers, Brett
  22. I did, muiri, but when I found out she was just a useless shopkeeper (I don't exactly need gold) the good ole console took care of things, and I was hoping to marry a companion a little less erm stone-like in personality than lydia lol. I unfortunately am stuck in the black void of no remarriage, although I did get a letter of inheritance from an NPC I barely knew-- that one chick in the temple of dibella apparently died, then when I went over she was still alive. It was real awk. oh well, I just hope the new patch covers some of these bugs.
  23. great idea, it shouldnt be too difficult as the animations and songs are already vanilla. If I was more familiar with scripting I'd attempt it. when the CS comes out Ill certainly take a look.
  24. Kudos! It looks like their is still some activity, and people are excited and determined about a skyrim port. when the new development comes out and I get some experience I may even join them. Your right though-- it would be nigh impossible to recapture the epicness unless someone had a PC that could handle 2000 NPC's at once and we had the original cast to voice act (not to mention professional scripters)
  25. as for legal issues, you could probably make like wasteland requim (FNV and FO3 combo) and simply require people to own both games. I am willing to help, I am moderately experienced with the construction set. PM me if you are looking to put together a formal team.
