  1. When were we promised the creation kit? I didn't see a promise anywhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35TbGjt-weA My feelings on this thread.
  2. A lot of things in here are some really cool ideas, took me a while to read though due to the lack of paragraphs. The whole prison idea sounds really cool. We've got 3 different ideas like this in the running and your idea is one of them. At this time we don't need any other modders, i don't want to recruit any extra help beyond the 3 members we have now because i'm not sure at this time what kind of experience we will need from others. I'll keep you in mind as we might need help after the CK comes out and we can determine what it is each of us can do.
  3. Out of curiosity as an American, and without starting any possible long drawn out flamewars, why is a cockney accent considered offensive? I too was wonndering this. I keep having to catch up to this thread when i get on the nexus, saw it when it was first posted been watching, looks like you guy(s)/girl(s) are coming along nicely with this, i know when it is available i'll be one of your first downloads.
  4. I pick everyone's pockets, it's really slow but a lot more enjoyable for me than mashing a button to make potions or armor.
  5. *points you towards Never Winter Nights* If you've never played it you should, multiplayer works well there.
  6. Reading the contribution agreement they have clearly stated that they reserve the right to sell anything you post on the steam workshop, read 2: licenses and 3: payment.
  7. I just looked at the poll results and it seems that we'll be going with a valley hidden away from the world, though we also hope to incoporate a blackreach looka-like cave for the vampire city, it'll no doubt end up being a quarter of it's size (which would still be bigger than any other city in Skyrim) and that's a good size for a city. This'll give us a lot of options for players to "collect" side quests that all will play their own small roles in the Faction quests. EX. you get a quest from a blacksmith in the caves who makes weaponry for the public and for the militia, if you help the blacksmith gain funds or materials you'll boost the strength of the vampire militia, in the main faction quests this will make an appearance in a few maners, such as the number of militia members because now they have enough weapons to have more, the strength of their weapons, their armor.
  8. Err, no. That would be quite silly-looking ingame. Modern destructible environments are almost always done via physics/materials libraries. The real hurdle to implementing this is (aside from the performance) the AI and immersion barriers. Your quite right there any person with the right software can make a model of a building into a destructible model of that same building in 3 minutes. (for something basic such as making it fall apart, this doesn't include what makes it fall apart, just that it can.)
  9. You mean... go out-side? :psyduck: Whats that? I think i heard about that place once, but i was too busy playing oblivion to pay attention.
  10. Yes the courier is a sort of "dropped out of the sky" method but i'm not very interested in thinking about the story line at this moment, it'll be left in there as a place holder. One of the main ideas behind this hidden section of the world is exactly that. it's hidden, no one goes there no one comes out. It may seem like it's dropped in there because that's what it is, it's a seperate world co-existing with the one your own, they have seperate interactions and they don't even know that the other one exists. As others have suggested they want parts of it to be found in skyrim, and when we get around to making the storyline officially we'll definetly think about how they've affected a world that very few have heard of, let alone seen. I myself disagree with a smooth transfer, i want the player to be tossed into this topsy turvy world, not brought into it by giving him/her a little bit of information along the way. And then finally onto your ideas for content, the story line is hardly set in stone, it might be changed even while we're working on it so any ideas for content will be appreciated.
  11. There is nothing in the lore to say they would get along (not that i've seen) and since they were created by Deadra Lords (different ones) then it's also a possibility that they would fight in order to please their lords, or to gain dominance over another. Not too mention the idea is based on Underwolrd and is being losely incoporated into Elder Scrolls lore.
  12. Grand soul gems aren't supposed to be able to hold human souls, for me they never have, perhaps it was a bug in some games, which means they probably fixed it.
  13. I suppose my opinion would be biased given that my game has only crashed once in my 150+ hours of play, and then hasn't crashed at all for my younger brother with his 90+ hours, and then onto my older brother with 300+ hours and still no crashes, and my mom with 6+ hours (she just started) and once again no crashes. Myself, my mother, and my younger brother are all on PC, my older brother has about 200 hours on xbox 360 and then the rest are on PC. Overall none of us have seen any game-breaking bugs, the game looks pretty good though some texture (not all since some look good in low-res) need to be re-done. bugs... i think my little bro saw a falling mammoth once, thats about it. Voice acting for most characters is fine. And in response to the guy that mentioned not having a character voice, that's a design choice to make the player seem like they are the character, in Mass effect you play Shepard, not your own character, and in saints row they give you 3 female voices, 3 male, and a zombie..... (this depending upon which game your playing) that's not really something i care about, look at the zelda games, they don't have voices, no one complains about that... well at least people shouldn't. In my opinion it deserved GOTY, mainly because no other good games have caught my attention, i despise FPS games because they're so unoriginal now, if you play COD your running and gunning... fun..... I get more enjoyment from Duke Nukem and that game sucked. (the new one of course) Though i do wish Indie games got more recognition, because then i would always want certain indie games as GOTY because some of them really deserve that award.
  14. That was considered but it would be prefered that the courier shows up at a certain lvl. I preffered it because i want the player to be able to handle the new area since we don't plan for enemies to be easy, we want to provide the player with a little more than a challenge.
  15. I've got more than 100 hours, over 3 characters though. Still enjoying it but i'm relaxing now, when the CK comes out i'll have some work to do. Glad to see your enjoying it.
  16. Don't get me wrong here - I haven't voted in the pool and on the contrary to what it might look like, I think it would be cool to make this mod, since I'm sure many people would enjoy it. But this is a thread asking for opinions, and opinions I give. But I still can't find one simple yet realistic reason why would those two "races" fight. Underwold, as cool as it was to watch had some reasons and before all, absolutely different setting. Vampires and werewolfs don't really have any history to fight over, and before everything else, they are not organised as I've said. Werewolfs are loners who hunt for pleasure or even lost their minds in the process and aren't much more than animal, vampires are seclusive, and while they tend to stick around in groups, they have no organisation, no all for one, one for all. I would say that only thing that ever could make werewolves stick together is Hircine, but then again, I don't see why would Hircine want any kind of organised war. (And don't focus on Companions there, Companions are very unique group and that doesn't count.) And Vampires... They are too greedy and self cetnered to work together without killing each other in the process. Well their reasons for fighting is something we must come up with in the process, and we don't have to nor plan to stick with TES's ideas of vampires and werewolves, and we may also stretch the ideas behind werewolves and vampires, maybe make the werewolves a little smarter, less bloodthirsty, and then less greed for vampires. But what you've brought up here is the whole reason we wanted it in a seperate secluded area, so we could make a reason for them fighting, in TES lore no they don't have any reasons that's why our group lives secluded so they don't have to follow TES lore to the dot. Your thoughts are much appreciated, thank you. and on another note. I wrote up some quest stuff, not very organized or specific, i'll clean it up and add to it as time goes on. Prologue quest: Upon reaching lvl ?? a courier is dispatched to find you, he gives you a note that asks you to meet a man in Riften, this man will be found in the Bee and Burb, he's staying in a room upstairs. He asks your assistance in retrieving an artifact from Vladamir Vicento's tomb, his tomb can be found outside of a city. The artifact in question is a book, upon reading the book you get a quest objective to ask the man about the book when you return it to him. He tells you to forget about it and to forget anything you read. After giving him the book you get another objective to go to a cave in some corner of the map. Inside you find a number of bodies, all of them labeled as monster hunters. Upon continuing through the dungeon you find the man, he's wounded and hands you a claw, telling you to go on ahead and kill the beasts that lie past the end of the dungeon. He doesn't die when you leave, he just continues breathing heavily. The claw unlocks one section of the dungeon, which opens up into another dungeon that you must navigate, once you reach the end and exit the dungeon the quest is finished. Main Quest Werewolf: Upon meeting the chief in the werewolf village he ask you to assist them, he feels tha because your not from around here no one will suspect anything if you start snooping around. Wolf Quest 1: The Werewolf chief wishes to send you into the Vampire caves to find some notes on the locations of certain relics that they have been searching for. You'll find in the vampire city a large door leading to the restricted library where the notes are being kept. YOu can't make it into the room because the key to open the door is found on the inside of the room. There are two guards standing on the outside of the large doors. If you look around you'll find a secret enterance into the library that leads through a cave, the cave is filled with spiders. You come out through a wall that falls apart so you can get through. Inside theres a number of Vampire assistances walking around. once you get past the assistants you can make your way through the rest of the library (what books should i put in the library? Oop, good idea i'll fill them with the bookcases that are in the mage's library and just make sure there is no key to open them.) Once you find the librarians room you need to get in and find the notes, they'll be sitting in his chest, you can choose to kill the librarian and get the key from him/her or you can pick the lock on the chest. Afterwards escape and return to the Chief. Wolf Quest 2: The Werewolf chief sends you out to free a group of rebellious slaves, they are held captive in a cave on the outskirts of the Vampire's main cave city. Inside you'll find Vampire Militia, Vampire slavers, and Vampire Gaurds. there are 5 slaves to free each has a separate key to their cage that you must collect, the Werewolf chief tells you that they have changed security up due to recent attempts to breakouts, so now every cell has a different key and each key is held by a different vampire. The key to get into the main cell room is found in the Vampire Warden's office, he'll be in there so you'll need to kill him for it. ONce you've rescues the slaves return to the Chief. Wolf Quest 3: Chief feels like he can trust you now so he sends you to find one of the artifacts that is referenced in the notes that you recovered in the library. The artifact he's sending you to get is a helmet, the helmet can be found in a rebel slave camp, approaching this you have a few option, you can try and talk to the rebels and see if they'll give it to you. if this fails you need to go into their camp and break into their deeper rooms inside of a dungeon filled with Rebel slaves of all sorts.
  17. This is an excellent idea, wouldn't require much to make, except for the CK that is. :)
  18. I can't tell if i hate you because of your insane posts, or love you because of your insane posts.... No idea what this is, i'll download it when i get home.
  19. Pirating is also possible and is widely done on consoles as well, so the loss in sales is not secluded to the PC sales, their are losses on all consoles, people look to the PC for most pirateing but it happens on every system.
  20. Not all graphics mods are like that, most current ones are, but theres a lot of peopel who are working to make good retextures of the game.
  21. My votes for the vampire, werewolf rework so i can then ask you about using it in my own mod. <-- has his selfish face on. In reality though i think theres been a lot of mention of different groups planning to rework vampire and werewolf, i would first make sure your not the only one doing it and maybe for that idea hop on with someone else or just let them do it and do one of you other idea. My second suggestion then would be the companion mod.
  22. Would i like to get paid for my work, yeah sure. is modding my job, no, do i have to work at making mods, yes Do i want people to have to pay for my mods. No. I'm on board for donating, it's good for modders and mod users. I'm not opposed to a satisfied player tossing some cash in a modder's direction after they download their mod and enjoy it. Oh and PC gaming isn't dying, at the least it's going to be the everlasting system that brings in a good flow of money (for longer too since people are more likely to get an older game on their PC where they can download it rather than go out and find a copy) , unlike consoles which need to be replaced every few years but bring in more money. A majority of people can't make their own complex mods, simple stuff sure, but not the more complex stuff and after doing so those people might want to then make cash from it which puts others in the same boat. I lol'd at that comparison.
  23. and why is that???? Why is what. well you claim that it can't run on a console. under what reasoning? Console hardware is quite outdated by now, theres quite a number of things that can't run on consoles because their outdated. and yes in the tech world 5 years = ancient tech.
  24. Some people just want multiplayer parts so they and their friend can pick up a battle axe each and rampage through every city in skyrim. anything beyond that is single-player space for me.
