  1. I'm not sure if it's just a case of not loading the right save game. This happened to me two days ago, after I had completely finished work on my mod and wanted to do a complete test of it. I loaded 5-6 different save games (with no other mods whatsoever), and my custom made NPC just refused to have any of the custom dialogue I gave him. Several minutes later, after a few restarts and saves it just worked out of the blue. If it's something well known maybe someone could find a solution.
  2. I think it could also depend on the types of mods. As far as I know, there are mods like texture replacers that do not actually have an .esp, but only files that you have to install. Maybe this is the case? If so, then all you have to do is copy the files and it will all work.
  3. I'm really going to keep track of this project, since I've had quite an interest in this side of the lore ever since Morrowind. It looks really good so far, so keep up the good work!
  4. The largest number of kudos avaiable to man go to you, dear sir! I'm not sure which of the three ideas you just posted worked, since I did all of those things, but it's finally working! Now, along with the rest of the help you gave me I can probably succeed in making my ideas work. Thank you very much!
  5. I'll keep looking and maybe I'll be able to find something. If not, I'll just shift my attention elsewhere, and go for a full reinstall of skyrim and the CK in case something went wrong with my updating. Thanks for all the help, I'm going to need everything you said here once I fix this minor quirk!
  6. Now that I think of it, what you just said makes perfect sense, and still I am being given the same error message over and over again. I also did a bit more searching yesterday, and somewhere I stumbled upon this: there is a bug in the CK that automatically adds an extra \ at the beginning of any path to a sound file that you're trying to import. I can't find that post anymore, but could this be the cause?
  7. First of all, thanks a lot for taking the time to write such a detailed response :). I read it all and I can say I understood all of it, although I'm still running into a problem. When I create my Sound Descriptor, open its properties, right-click in the Sound table and try to add a new sound, it gives me an error message that says "Invalid directory.". I tried messing around with the sound, moving it to different folders but nothing seemed to work. Any ideas on this issue?
  8. I seem to be having a similar issue. With a few mods I made for myself, many of the static objects that I place in exterior cells don't really load up. You have to go inside and outside different interiors for a few times for them to load. Hopefully someone will come up with something for us :).
  9. I really liked your demo! Although I'm not modding at a larger scale yet, and only doing small things for myself, I have to say that I really like your acting and I think it's quite suitable for quite a few characters that could pop to mind for Skyrim. I wish you good luck with your career and who knows, I might get working on something big and need some help with this part
  10. I am going to make a full, easy tutorial on adding voice acting into the game for everyone that is frustrated because of various bugs and issues (like me). It took me several hours and I think I finally found a fail-safe method, I'll work it right now and post it on the wiki. Feedback would be great :) EDIT: I just completed my guide on how to add Voice Acting. You can find it here: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Voice_Acting:_A_Complete_Guide#Actual_recording I hope it is useful!
  11. Basically I have a large room with a chest and some more clutter. When the chest gets activated, a certain sound is played, the dungeon's boss appears behind you, resurrects several monsters and runs away throwing spells at you. I've got most of the scripting already done and working, but I have no idea how to take my custom sound from outside the CK, create a Sound object, and make it used by my script. Sorry for the lack of details in my initial post, I was quite tired after several hours of work on this and couldn't be very clear. Also, thank you for the quick response, as I've seen many posts with similar issues with no replies after several weeks.
  12. First of all, I'm quite a beginner modder, so take me slowly if there's anything really complicated please :). Basically, I'm taking it slowly, and making a simple but funny mod for me and my friends. I want to try and make as many different things as possible, to get more experience with the CK, and I'm really stuck right now. I want to add a custom sound. I have it downloaded, converted to .wav, but I have no idea how to actually add it in game. I think I might be able to get the scripting part done, but I don't know how to actually import it into the editor. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
