  1. Hi, I have built a high end gaming rig and have downloaded a large variety of mods but am struggling with script latency. My script latency usually sits around ~150 outside solitude, enough for animal AI to shut off. My CPU is the i7-6700 and is only at an average 15% utilization and 38 threads in the same place. I am trying to get my script latency down by starting a game, using AS-LAL to teleport to solitude docks, running around for a minuite or two, checking papyrus logs for whichever mod seems to appear most, disabling it and then starting again. However i am slowly but surely losing all my gameplay mods and seeing virtually no improvement in script latency. i have set up my skyrim ini to make use of my CPUs 8 cores , but i cant seem to make skyrim use any more of it then it is. At this rate i am going to be left with only script-less graphics mods. Is there any other ways i have missed to reduce script latency besides removing all gameplay from the game?
  2. Not to 15, by 15, from 269 to 254. So does it automatically recognise and mark mergeable mods or am i expected to do it myself?
  3. Hi, I'm trying to get my mod list down by about 15 or so so i downloaded wyre bash and attempted to bash some of the plugins i have but of the ~269 mods i have it only reported 2 as being mergeable. Does this sound right?
  4. Hi, I finally got a dual boot of W7 on my W10 system so that i can play skyrim but after a completely fresh install and installing ENB it CTD's. I made all the neccesary ini edits and i made sure it was ENB and not the ini edits by removing the d3d9.dll file from the skyrim folder which stopped the crashing. Searching on google would indicate that this crash is caused by missing DX9 which given how this is a completely fresh installation of W7 is understandable. Does anyone have any better ideas of what could be causing it or where i can download DX9 as microsoft have taken down there downloads for it and the skyrim that ships with steam has the DX10 installer with it? Thanks Edit: NVM, got it from techspot, working now
  5. Tried making a new save. New game, followed the course as normal, sprinted through the vault and as soon as I got control after taking the elevator back up I COC'd to the same hall that I was crashing at before. Crashed about 3-4 seconds later, so its definitely not a dead save. I'm not using the beta patch either. I updated Alternate settlements when I fixed my load order, however I have just noticed that I installed 1.2 over 1.1 when I updated, I have now corrected this and will try another new save tomorrow and see what happens.
  6. Not using the beta patch. I Can't imagine a broken save is the issue as it is basically just the commons that I crash in and I have nothing aside from graphics mods that affects the commons. I'm out an about today but will try making a new character and going to the commons later on today. Loot is afaik up to date and am using NMM.
  7. Updated a variety of mods, and removed SSex and BUSTY fully, it lasted a bit longer this time but still crashed.
  8. As I said in second post, that is the order that Loot gave me. I've tried running it again but for whatever reason it now refuses to open, will look into that later. I reshuffled my load order and updated my true storms and settlement mods and it now looks like this: Loaded the same save as before on top of the gilded grasshopper building in the commons, still crashed after ~5 seconds. will go through all my mods one by one and check for updates and incompatibilities. I would hazard a guess it will be unrelated to my settlement mods as i have never (iirc) crashed inside a settlement.
  9. Tried dropping the shadows to 2160, no help whatsoever, crashed within 5 seconds of loading a save on top of the Gilded Grasshopper building, right in the heart of the commons.
  10. Yeah i know, but then: i7-6700k Asus ROG Z170 Maximus VIII Hero EVGA GTX Titan X Superclocked Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 12GB 3000mhz Samsung 850 Pro 1tb If there's a system that can handle it, its probably mine. I know its still engine handicapped, but still. Given how Bethesda Shadows are CPU handled. I cant imagine dropping them to medium from admittedly 8192 would make any difference. If given the above you still believe its worth a try then i will try dropping it, but im sceptical.
  11. Uff, theres 97 in total, but here it is: Mods: Plugins in load order: I have fixed the Crafting Workbench - Removed Crafting Experience.esp being above Crafting Workbench.esp now (now I know to always double check LOOT) but as Crafting Workbench is not a master for the other and I have yet to crash in Sanctuary I don't believe this will make any difference. As you can see most of it is graphical, the most likely culprit I can see would likely be the settlement mods, but like I said, I have yet to crash in any settlements or while building.
  12. Hi, Been playing for a little while now and have started encountering strange CTD's. It mainly happens in high density areas such as the Commons and occasionally in medium density areas like Diamond City, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't, but does far more often then not and after varying amounts of time, but not by much. It never crashes in low density areas such as small interiors and relatively empty cells in the exterior. Sometimes I can sprint to where I'm going and load into an interior before it crashes. I tried checking Papyrus but very few errors that look mostly harmless were listed. What I did notice was that the last line cuts off for seemingly no reason, often mid word, leading me to believe this is not a mod issue. All of the above is much the same as hitting the 3.1gb memory limit in skyrim. However, this should not be the issue here as Fallout 4 is supposedly 64 bit. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing crashes like this?
  13. Hi, Since starting my second fallout 4 playthrough, this time with a variety of mods, I have suffered from intermittent crashing, which has grown worseuntil it reached the point where every time I try to fast travel to a zone (in this case the combat zone) i CTD either at the end of the loading screen or a second or two after it. I am using an ENB, a variety of texture overhauls, a number of settlement overhauls and crafting overhauls. I have noticed that I am suffering greatly from the low quality textures, most noticeably on armor, which changes quality intermittently. I have tried reverting to the sResourceDataDirsFinal=... method of mod loading which some have reported having better results with but I saw no improvement. I tried moving out of diamond city before fast travelign which didnt help, i tried disabling autosave on travel which also didn't help. I tried using Fallout Performance Monitor to see if i was running out of memory, cpu, etc, but the game isn't even scratching the surface of what my system is capable of. Papyrus is attached below, every time it seems to crash in the middle of a long string of "[RESceneCT01 (0017F329)].rescript.::remote_REParentScript_RECheckForCleanup() - "g:\_F4\Art\Raw\Scripts\REScript.psc" Line 214" errors. Could it be a dirty edit issue? I know its not an issue with the area surrounding the combat zone itself as I have been already and am currently using Cait. anyone got any ideas? Papyrus, consisting of loading into diamond city, waiting ~5 seconds and fast travelling to the Combat Zone:
  14. Hi, As per the title is there any way to remove scenery objects in fallout 4 without the creation kit? Existing houses, the tree, hedges, etc. Would like to build one huge mega structure but going high enough to seal off the existing stuff would take a huge chunk out of what I can do. Disable doesn't work anymore, nor does markfordelete. Thanks.
  15. Hi, I recently built a powerhouse system to run skyrim at its highest possible level, but I have since discovered that Direct X 9 and Windows 10 can't memory allocate, meaning I am down to 4064MB available memory from 44,960MB. I am not willing to fork out £100 for a copy of Windows 7 just to play skyrim, nor am I willing to play skyrim at 1/11 of its potential. This leaves my only option as a SteamOS dual boot. I googled if skyrim runs on Linux but the only results were mixed opinions back in 2013. Does anyone here know if and how well skyrim, ENB, etc run on SteamOS / Linux? Thanks
  16. Does anyone have any ideas on this? It was happening on my brothers computer but after spending some time messing around with nvidia experience and the INIs I managed to solve it but I can't remember how I did it to replicate it on my own computer, am desperate to get playing again but having the HUD at 1/4 of the size of the screen is unplayable.
  17. I believe the unofficial patches require the creation kit, so not for a while yet I'm afraid.
  18. Pipboy target settings dont seem to do anything, at 1080 or 4k its still much the same. you need to go into the console in game and change your FoV to 90. This sorted it for me. The pipboy being far too big is a common issue
  19. Hi, When i load the game at 4k DSR the main menu only takes up the top left quater of the screen. When i load a game then the whole screen is now used, but the HUD is still only the top left 1/4 of the screen. Anyone got any ideas? 20. Hi, As per the title the lighting has divided between the top and the bottom half of the screen, the main difference seems to be that the bottom is darker. It happened a little while after playing, about the time i went into the vault. . The only mod I have that could cause this issue is the Enhanced Wasteland Preset. I am playing at 4K DSR Max graphics. Closing the game and loading it does not help.Any help greatly apreciated. http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg498/nazgren/2015-11-12_00001_zpsknajlwpw.jpg
  21. Problem is I could have, say, 20 different rock textures, how do I know which is the texture that looks awful? I know how to unpack a bsa and swap textures around, but I don't know which to do. If I could go into console and click a rock and it say rock-8.dsa or whatever, then problem solved. That is what I want from a mod. If automatic variants is possible then this should be.
  22. Simply target an object in the console and it will tell you it's texture name and file path. I know there's some needlessly complicated way to find it in the creation kit but it would take an extremely long given how many textures there are in skyrim.
  23. I felt exactly the same way when I bought my 780 TI and expected it to make a mockery of anything I threw at it. How wrong I was. So I upgraded again after 2 years and never looked back. I diddent want to take any chances so I bought a card that I knew for a fact could deal with anything and everything, loving my superclocked Titan X. If you want to go to 4K with ENB then your gonna need to upgrade your GPU, storing the textures on your ram won't help, it just makes it a little bit quicker in transferring them to your GPU. ENB does it already. If your currently loaded texture files exceed 3GB thenn your going to lag, and 3GB is very little. I only really use SMC and one or two others currently and I exceed 6GB VRAM. I don't think you have any other choice then to upgrade GPU or go to 2K textures I'm afraid. There's no way around a lack of VRAM, only to get a better GPU or to use less of it.
  24. My old 780 TI couldn't handle 4K textures, so not sure what you hope to achieve with the basic 780. 3GB VRAM just won't cut it at 4K I'm afraid.
  25. Yeah, it's not just skyrim I am building the computer for, I'm also eagerly anticipating total war: Warhammer, which I'm quite sure will be CPU intensive, plus a variety of other games (100+ steam library) so the 5820k is the go to CPU for me, if it was just for skyrim I would get an i5. I think "no script issues" might be a tad optimistic, I used virtually ever npc adding mod and a dozen or so mods that added scripts to them, I think I had 20mb papyrus logs within 2-3 minutes, you could hardly move inside the bannered mare for the amount of npc's. With what might be an average script heavy build I would expect a 5820k to hold its own, but how much better would it do then the phenom II 965? Would it be a minor difference, For example both getting the same performance but with the 5820k on less utilisation, or would it be a case of the 5820k could handle ~2x more NPC's doing a fair bit more then the phenom could? From what I've gathered the papyrus system usually becomes the limiting factor before the CPU does, but I could very well be wrong.
