  1. Ah, yes I'd been doing that. (Having both my created faction and the JobsMerchantFaction in their faction list). I've just given it another go, loading up now to see if it's decided to love me or not. Edit : Well, it worked! Seemingly setting the radius to "Near Self" as opposed to the reference has fixed it. Not sure why that would help at all but eh, whatever works works! Cheers for the help. :)
  2. I followed the one you linked to the absolute letter, and it didn't work. I didn't have the location of the NPC set to self, I'll give it a go, but I don't see why that would impact their ability to sell really. I'm not sure what you mean by "Did you make sure to not only the your NPC in the JobsMerchantFaction" Cheers :)
  3. Little Bump. (Apologies) I'm actually going out of my mind here. I've tried literally everything, I've followed about 6 different tutorials and I've checked out the written guide on the CK website. Nothing works. Nothing. The NPC's just keep spouting one liners and not letting me go into actual dialogue, there's no option to trade. I'm at the end of my tether here, any help would be fantastic, ta.
  4. 'Allo Chaps and Chapettes. I've made a Merchant via the Creation Kit, but no matter what I do, I simply can't get them to open a trade window. Whenever I click on them they just spout one-liner bits of dialogue and don't actually go anywhere. I've tried creating one from scratch, and I also tried simply duplicating Belethor (Change his container, location, name and ID) and still nothing pops up. I've created a merchant faction, and also tried duplicating Belethor's and simply editing as need be but neither seem to work. Any help would be fantastic, cheers!
  5. Hi! I'm going to assume this is simply a case of me being an idiot, but I've been encountering a problem a lot lately. Basically, I've loaded up a dungeon I made, added some objects, and then saved it. When I then go and load the dungeon in game nothing shows EXCEPT any newly added pieces of dungeon and the objects, essentially, everything that wasn't newly added since I modded the dungeon again, vanished. Again I'm sure I'm doing something rather simple wrong, but, I just can't seem to fix this. EDIT : Okay I actually have a theory on this. I made a dungeon called "Tomb" (Which was the unedited one), saved, then quit. At a later date I then loaded "Tomb" and used that as a data file to make my new dungeon (Which was "Tomb" with accessories. Now, if I untick "Tomb" from my Skyrim Data folder and instead rely on "Tomb2", which in turn relied on "Tomb" as part of its data, then maybe that's why "Tomb" seems to be vanishing. EDIT : Found the solution. I have to go into Data and untick the "Tomb" and "Tomb2" files in order to overwrite Tomb. Seems a bit...pointless, but it works.
  6. I'm working on a video tutorial on how to add weapons and armour to the game via the Creation Kit, and it's all fine (following the guide that Beth themselves put up) but the problem is, at one stage the tutorial indicates that you should find "Recipe ...." and "Temper ...". A filter search for either temper or recipe shows up with nothing, and therefore I can not add craftable items to the game. Anyone happen to have any advice? EDIT : I've since figured it out, sorry! Please feel free to delete this!
  7. How to create and add basic NPC's to Skyrim using the Creation Kit -
  8. In the midst of uploading my first tutorial for the Creation Kit. I work fast. =p
  9. After messing with the scale? Yup. I've just extended my sword over the X axis massively, leading to a rather bizarrely shaped weapon. When I drag the resulting .nif into meshes-meshes-weapons-iron...there's no change in game.
  10. Shader type is set to 2, and I've added SF_Glow_Map to Shader Flags 2. I've also changed emissive colour to a grey and emissive saturation up to 5. Maybe it's something in the design of my glow map? Or perhaps I'm simply saving the resulting .nif file in the wrong area... (meshes - meshes - weapons - iron) UPDATE : To test the latter theory out, I upped the scale of the Claymore in Nifskope to 6x it's original size, then saved the resulting .nif in the same area I have been doing. This didn't affect my in-game sword at all.
  11. The second one helped a bit; managed to get the glowmap into the "Textures" section of BSShaderTextureSet. However, there's still no effect in-game. Can't seem to find "Emitmulti", could the fact I haven't changed that to 1 be what's causing the glow to not work?
  12. Hi! I'm nearly done with a weapon, an Iron Claymore that I'm modding. However, for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how you add the actual glow map in Nifskope! I've got the model of the Claymore up in Nifskope, it's showing as fully textured and I've set the various properties necessary for the glowmap to actually work. However, I simply can't figure out how to -Add Glowmap- or something. Anyone who has any advice, it'd be greatly appreciated!
  13. Seemingly fixed it, close topic if you would someone. :)
  14. 'Ello there world. Recently, I've had to redownload/reinstall Photoshop, and ever since then, I simply can not open .DDS files in Photoshop. I've downloaded the Nvidia plugins (Both 32 and 64 bit) and installed them to both of my Photoshop folders (Program Files x86) and (Program Files). I'm using 64 bit photoshop. It's worked in the past, which is why I'm confused as to why it won't work now. It simply tells me it's the wrong file format. Any help would be great, cheers!
  15. Except Steam doesn't affect the game's performance or stated nature in the slightest. The game says it requires an internet connection, so how does the fact that the internet portion is Steam related even matter? Based on how god-awfully slow your connection sounds, it'd take hours to download the update with or without Steam. Steam are anything but a disreputable company, and people really need to stop jumping on them whenever they have any issue with Skyrim.
  16. I think more customisation is all people want, arguing over the appearance of a race that doesn't exist is ridiculous, not as ridiculous as claims of racism but ridiculous none the less. Thats what we are talking about here the whole time....costumization nothing else. Most are but some are arguing that Oblivions were wrong and Skyrims are right, a silly argument about a fictional race. That's a little blind-sided, the main quantity of people in this thread are arguing that Oblivion was right and Skyrim was wrong. Regardless, it should be about customization, and while maybe Skyrim's customization isn't quite as full as Oblivions, Elves on the whole look far better and fit much better with the TES lore. Which surely, is what's important.
  17. You may be the only person, ever, to have the problem of your character looking too young.
  18. I play female characters in most games, generally just because they tend to look better. Nothing more to it than that!
  19. Lack of chargen options is the price we pay for having generally far, FAR better looking character models. People can cry about it being a missing feature or Bethesda "messing up our elves" all they want, but they can't do absolutely everything, and I know I'd rather have limited chargen options over the terrible mess that was Oblivion faces.
  20. I'd just like to add to the general rambling, that I think Dark Elves look amazing in this game and the others aren't half bad. People have issues with them because, and I quote, they aren't "Beautiful". This isn't some manga-cutesy Japanese RPG, this is Skyrim, it's set in the toughest and roughest area around. This is the thing, people *censored* about immersion all the time, about how this and that ruins immersion, but you know what one of the worst offenders is? Clean, shiny, beautiful people and elves. That isn't how the real world works and that isn't how Skyrim would work if it was real, go out on to the streets and have a look, is everyone you see a model? I simply don't get why every elf has to look like Orlando Bloom and frankly I applaud Bethesda for daring to make them as un-human like as possible. The rest of you, well, you can wait until the creation kit comes out and go back to having overly-shiny and "pretty" elves that don't suit the game in the slightest.
  21. Actually some good ideas here, thanks guys!
  22. I assume I'm missing something, but I don't actually see the challenge here?
  23. Basically, on Youtube I run a series called "Challenge Accepted!" where I essentially try to do things that would maybe be considered implausible, or not physically doable. I've only got one video so far, wherein I punch a dragon to death (And got on to Kotaku with it!) but that's all so far. I'm basically here for suggestions. Most of the ones I have so far involved punching something else to do (Dull), killing the Jarl of a town (Doable in a single hit) or anything werewolf related. I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts? Will give a shout out to anyone who comes up with a feasible idea!
  24. I had the same issue, and verifying the Steam Cache has fixed it for me so, should work! Cheers for the help
  25. I use a 1h/shield and then swap to dual magic when necessary. Works well. :)
