  1. Recently after installing Oblivion Reloaded 2.01 which requires removal of Streamline, every time I save a game, the corresponding screenshot which always accompanies the save file in the Save Game Window, now shows only a small portion of the screenshot at the top. The rest of the picture field is blued out. Is this a problem with OR 2.01, having removed Streamline, or is there something else going on? It did not do this initially, but only seemed to start out of nowhere. Can anyone help, please? Thank you.
  2. I made a mod for my own personal use which adds three NPC companions to the game. They are summonable and as such, I made a spell to call them. The problem is, I can't figure out how to give (add) my Player-Character the spell automatically on game startup. I even tried the Command Console to add it by the Form ID from the CS, but the console won't accept the Form ID, so I don't know what's wrong with that either. I need help to solve both issues. I even tried using different second digit numbers for the Form ID as someone suggested, but none worked. Why? PLEASE...someone help me with these two issues! Also, in doing so, please be clear and concise, providing step-by-step instructions as I have found nothing on these problems anywhere on the web including any of the TESIV sites. A BIG THANKYOU ahead of time to anyone who can help me as I'm not really a modder!
  3. What happened to Kvatch Rebuilt Underground? I've been posting comments and questions with the author and just posted another only a few days ago. When I went back today, the mod is no where to be found. I'm trying to remember the author's name...I think it was Ziethier (or something like that). He apparently had decided to update the original Kvatch Rebuilt mod by adding new quests, etc. He was also supposed to fix bugs that were never corrected by the original Kvatch Rebuilt team. HELP!
  4. I recently installed a new set of really cool loading screens. I want to leave the vanilly screen hints in place. The problem is, they are in that copperish-brown font color and barely show up on screen. The word "loading" beneath the loading bar is the same. Is there a way to change the font color to say, a bright green, yellow, or even white? If so, can it be done via the Construction Set, Oblivion .ini or system settings or by some other means? If it is possible could someone post here a step-by-step procedure not only for me but i am sure other players would be interested as well. Thank you. Josh

While, I'm not a modder, I do know my way around the CS AND have maxed out my OBMM with added mods so I think I can safely say I know what I'm doing when installng mods and further know what I'm saying when I say that, despite checking, double-checking, re-re-checking over and over again, with everything installed correctly and everything else about my game working picture perfectly with NO conflicts indicated in Wrye Bash, etc, THIS MOD SIMPLY ISN'T WORKING! I have sent countless emails to the author, left comments on Tes Nexus with no reply to any of my query. The only reason I installed this mod in the first place was to get the phonographs so that I could play custom playlists of songs in game. The phonograph, the emerald of music, and the ring of music, is supposed to give you custom playlists to play your own mp3s that you plug in. I have followed the author's instructions to the letter and the only thing that happens when I activate the phonograph or emarald is a dialogue box asking me to choose which playlist I prefer for that item. After i click on my choice, the box simply disappears and nothing else happens. I'm assuming that what is then SUPPOSED to happen is that the chosen playlist pops up and I can then click on which mp3 track I want to hear. THEN I assume it's supposed to stop the background music and play the song. I can only assume all this because the instructions in the author's read-me give no step-by-step instructions as to how any of this is suppolsed to work. I have long since had the other two required mods installed (enhanced music system and sound control) and they have always worked fine. Based on what I'm reading in the comments on TesNexus under the BMS download, a LOT of people seem to have a LOT of problems with this mod. Since the author will NOT respond to me, is there ANYONE out there who knows their way around this mod who could tell me what the problem is and how I might be able to fix it???!!! I would REALLY like to get these phonographs working! Josh
  6. HOPEFULLY someone can finally give me the answer that I seek...why is it that some containers/chests respawn faster than others? This applies to original Oblivion containers as well as mod-added ones. I have mods whose contianers will respawn in a day while others take months. I even have a mod that added a chest that only just yesterday respawned...and it was installed almost a year ago. I have looked around the CS and can find no reference to a setting parameter for respawning speed. I don't know my way around the CS very well yet so if there is, I'm probably looking in the wrong place. If there is a way to set this, can someone PLEASE tell me how to do it?! Thank you!
  7. I am so sick of all this but I think I may be finally nearly some kind of conclusion hopefully with some final help from someone who REALLY knows this mod inside and out. OK. I love the mod and I know that it has won all kinds of awards and with good reason. Overall it is phenomenal the way it works. BUT, it does appear to have some bugs that have never been corrected and it has caused me and others some problems. At this stage in my game, Kvatch is finished, I am now Countess of Kvatch and Grand Ranger of the Arena. Getting to this point has been a nightmare without a walk-through and/or lack of info on what is supposed to happen when. So, here are the remaining problems: #1. Kolfhe-IceHeart will not allow me to again fight in the arena. There is no dialogue option to say yes to a fight-only "not right now." Does this take more time to allow a fight or is this a bug in the mod? I want to know. #2. The Bane of Battle armory has never opened. The Orc Blacksmith, Bahal-Gra-Sharob, the NPC who runs it is nowhere to be found in Kvatch or all of Tamriel for that matter. Why? Where is she? Will she return in time OR is this yet another glitch in the mod? #3. Finally (AND THIS IS A BIGGIE) there appears to be a BIG BUG in the Lenka Valus quest to do a painting and statue of my player. Firstly, she, too, is nowhere to be found in Kvatch. Not her home, not the inn, not by her easel, not the chapel...NOWHERE. So, I tried using the console to use the placeatme (base ID) function to create a duplicate of her. It seemed to work with the quest kicking in until I stepped on the rug, suddenly it stalled and the game crashed. Going back to a previous save, I tried again, this time not creating her but instead just using the command console to activate the quest stages. When I got to the rug, the same thing happened and continues to happen no matter what I do. The questions then are these: Does the real Lenka have to be present for this to work? Does Lenka Valus eventually appear in Kvatch? If so, am I causing the problem by jumping the gun to get on with this? OR is this yet another bug in the mod? Is there a way to locate her (or any NPC) if they are lost somewhere in Tamriel? You can't bring them to you (or going to them) by using the COC command without the (formID) for the NPC (the BaseID doesn't work). Is it my clothes or something in my inventory that is causing this to crash? Does my player need to wear something special (or nothing at all)? I'm wearing non-Vanilla mod armour/clothing-is that the problem? I've tried different outfits from different mods-makes no difference! How is this supposed to work? Is there a setting that I can change? I desperately need ALL these questions answered in detail. Answers along the way of this mod have been few and far between. I did get a response from a really nice person earlier on about this mod and they were extremely helpful. Hopefully someone can help me with these final answers. Contacting the authors and searching the web has yielded nothing! HELP! Josh the Frustrated

  9. So I love Oblivion and through adding mods I have created my own version of a near perfect game world. I knew that sooner or later I would have to stop modding unless someone created something fantastic that I just had to have. Recently I added a couple of mods and the game crashed on startup. Through Wrye Bash I discovered a message warning that said "Mod Load List Overloaded. Now Disabling Some Mods." It then unchecked the last two mods in the load order list. Apparently I reached my limit. Here's the problem. Everyone is saying that Oblivion allows upward of about 200 or 250 mods before it chokes. While I thought I had a lot, it's probably only about 50 or so. Everything is running beautifully for me these days. I just can't add anymore mods. Soooo the question(s) is this: Is this a permenant game engine perameter for ES4 Game of Year ED and cannot be changed? OR is there a setting in Wrye Bash or the Oblivion ini file that can be changed or tweaked to allow more mods? OR is there another minor problem underlying what is going on? If Oblivion allows this many mods, then why is mine saying it's overloaded? Anyone PLEASE HELP!
  10. Wrye bash is a great tool and it has helped me solve some complex issues with my game. It has also created some minor problems due mostly with the creation of batched patches that contain certain mods. I am experiencing some minor issues with certain mods that has started ONLY after Wrye Bash created and placed them in a batched patch (or so I've been told). If so, how do I remove the batched patch and/or the mod files from within it? I'm only just now learning Wrye Bash and it's help feature isn't the most user-friendly to navigate for info that's clear and concise. Hopefully someone can help with this. Thanks
  11. Is is a scripting issue? Is it an AI issue? Why do some NPCs within oblivion respond to Talkie Toasters Command Share Recruit and/or CM companions and others don't?! I have looked at some of these NPCs through the Construction Set and made some subtle changes but to date, have NOT been able to change anything in terms of the "Friend" feature popping up in their dialogue option menu making them unrecruitable. More to the point there are some CM Companions mods who already have their own "Share" feature built in and some simply won't work. It is the SHARE function which seems to be the most glitchy. What is going on? Is there a patch/update(s) available to make this unglitch, or is there something I can do in the CS to correct this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.   12. Some time ago I installed Better Cities Skingrad. Suddenly an otherwise plain and drab city became beautiful and alive. A tremendous amount of work obviously went into this. BUT, some of the new buidlings have doors that, while having indicators, don't open. Clearly they are eye-candy only with no interiors. This is also true of the "Old Witch's Tower" just outside the city. I was excited to use it for my personal Arch-Mage quarters there in Skingrad but there is no interior. I have searched and searched trying to find a patch that might address this issue-interiors added either by the original Better Cities author(s) OR by a third party who has the same idea as me. To date, I haven't found any. Does anyone know if anyone has done a mod that adds these interiors? If there isn't one, is anyone interested in doing one. Unfortunately I'm not yet a modder and trying to learn the CS and other tools to make mods and post them for all. I am, however, a commercial artist and graphics designer. So I have a lot of ideas for mods that I would like to eventually make. Till then I would really like to use that Mage Tower. I don't understand why some of these authors go to such great lengths putting in hundreds of hours, creating masterpieces of CGA work only to stop short of completing some elements. For example, the authors of Kvatch Rebuilt never included a .doc walkthrough in their mod download. EVERYONE is yelling for one yet it was apparently never done despite all the fantastic work that went into the mod itself. To discuss my design ideas directly you may contact me at [email protected].
  13. Jamus, you will need to do several things. First, back up your entire Oblivion game folder on an external hard drive along with your saves. Second, uninstall oblivion (as you've done before) THEN use a registry repair/checker program that includes a file shredder. You need to make sure that all traces of Oblivion are gone from the system including the registry. Restart the computer. THEN, either do one of two things. Reinstall ORIGINAL components from your disk and THEN copy your backup into the folder making sure NOT to overwrite your newly installed files. OR you can simply copy the folder back onto your laptop and (if you're running WIN 7) it should generate a registry entry by itself NOT requiring you to do a total new install. The Gamby Oblivion game engine was designed to use only one (1) system registry entry which should allow for moving from drive location to location. MAKE SURE when you do play the game (if in WIN7) that all .exe files are set to play in WIN XP Service pack 2 compaitbility mode. Restart the computer through each step to insure new registry updating BEFORE you attempt to actually play.
  14. TO DIAL999: Thanks for all your great help. YOU are the first and ONLY person that at last has given me the definative answers for which I have been searching. I wish I didn't have to start Kvatch all over, BUT in the end, I won't lose anything and if that's what it takes to become Countess, then so be it. I can be patient and wait (God knows I've been waiting all this time-a little longer won't kill me.) ONE FINAL QUESTION: What seems to be the problem with the Grand Ranger fighting again in the Arena? Is it a glitch in the mod or does it have to do with NOT being Countess? I simply am NOT being given the option to do anymore fights. Anyway, THANK YOU again for your help.

  16. Thank you for the info. HERE'S A FINAL QUESTION. Since I don't have aprevious save, what if I uncheck Kvatch, Resave and Recheck it...that should start the kvatch rebuilt all over shouldn't it? If so, I could THEN make the right decisions! Can you aloso tell me about this business of a statue and/or a painting. I don't like the idea of starting Kvatch all over but is sounds like it's the only way.

  18. On another posted forum topic, I'm addressing issues with the Kvatch Rebuilt mod and TRYING to become Countess (among other things) that just aren't happening. In my search for answers, I came across a reference to a mod called Kvatch Aftermath and after looking what is supposed to be a video "walkthrough" for Kvatch Rebuilt came to realise that they referred to BOTH Kvatch Aftermath AND Kvatch Rebuilt. Further, they referred to the same scenario of a message arriving to you from Slavian Matius about you becoming Countess. As if that isn't confusing enough, the background looked identical to Kvatch Rebuilt AND they referred to some kind of patch (which I downloaded but haven't installed yet). What is all this about? If you read my other forum topic post called Kvatch Rebuilt Waiting and Wating, you will understand what I'm going through with this mod. I REALLY hope someone can soon answer these questions. A lot of players on a lot of forums seem to be having similar issues but yet NO ONE seems to have or be willing to give out with the info. Even the original authors have never responded to emails and other correspondance to help me and while I've been told that there IS a walkthrough on a site called kvatch.net, that site seems to no longer exist.   19. I have always hated the disposition of the Mage Scholars toward me EVEN after I became Arch Mage and Headmaster of the AU. I can't converse with the apprentices AT ALL except for limited talk concerning expeditions. I have always used Toasters Command Share Recruit with GREAT success but there is NO compatibility with those particular NPCs. I would like it to VERY MUCH especially inventory sharing. I assume that it has to do with their scripting or someething that would be otherwsie changeable in the CS. I have searched and searched to see if anyone has done any mods to change this but so far, have only found one that honestly isn't all that I thought it would be. CSR still won't work. I'm not a modder (yet) and I'm still learning my way around the ole Construction Set. Can ANYONE out there either throw together a simple mod to allow for CSR and better interaction OR can anyone at least tell me step-by-step, what needs to be changed using the CS so that I could do it myself? I would be very grateful if someone could help. It shouldn't be too difficult to whip up a quick esp should it? I want to do this for both ALL the Mage Apprentices AND ALL the Mage Scholars.   20. I was given some info on the posted forum link. Unfortunately none of it was valid or at least accurate. The Count will NOT talk to me. Savlian Matius who has now taken over the Wolf's Head tavern won't talk to me. In fact, there is no dialogue progression from ANYONE suggesting the ability to become Count/Countess. Further, the Count at present is "essential" and cannot be killed. And YES I, too am having the problem of having become Grand Ranger of the Arena but can no longer fight. The only option that pops up is "Not Right Now" when you ask for another match. The Bane of Battle Armorer has NEVER opened. There are still broken columns inside that castle that I thought would have been fixed by now. There is no mention of a statue of me and the only reference to a painting is that each day, weather permitting, an easel and blanket appear outside the chapel on the plaza, suggesting someone setting up to paint, but nothing ever happens. AND finally, the Kvatch.net site is no longer valid. So there is still NO WALKTHROUGH. I just don't understand the authors of this mod. This is probably the BEST mod ever made for Oblivion in that it is VERY cleaverly done and addresses an issue that should have been done by Bethesda in the first place. Despite all the work that went into this and I'm sure it was considerable, they didn't create a walkthrough? I stumbled through the quests so blindly that at times, I was hopelessly lost. I don't utilize walkthroughs per say since they spoil the whole idea of playing and figuring things out. BUT, when your stuck, your stuck! And once in a while you need a little nudge. Having some help would have, I feel, circumvented some problems I am now having. I just hope that in time, all this will work out and that it isn't bugs in the mod. THAT would really suck eggs.   22. Recently, using the CS I tried to modify the Battlehorn Castle Grotto into an upscale mage's quarter suitable for the Champion of Cyrodil and Arch Mage of the AU. I failed miserably. I'm not a modder (yet) and am just learning the CS. Someone on the forum helped me to learn how to disable water in the CS but I discovered that what I wanted to do in the end I couldn't do. What is desperatley needed is a mod that remakes the Grotto so that it can actually be used by the player. Here is a list of 10 steps I would like to see in a mod. #1. Remove the water #2. Remove the dirt piles with the stalagmites and all the boulders EXCEPT for the single boulder in the middle with the Aelyid stones on top with the glowing fireflies (cool effect to leave alone) #3. Remove the misc. trashy clutter, the cobwebs and the dead shrubs. (Replace the shrubs with green growing flora) #4. Replace the floor where the boulders were. Currently if you remove them there is no floor underneath. Just a black hole you fall into. Here's where I really got into trouble...I don't know enough about modding to put in a new tiled floor! #5. Place torches, wall sconces or candles down the corridor and elsewhere to bring up the lighting to make it more warm and inviting instead of so dark and foreboding. #6. Install enchanting and spell making alters, an ingrediant storage cabinet and work counter with apparatus. #7. Install carpets, chests, and decorate the walls with exotic/fantasy tapestries (forget vanilla stuff). There are so many incredible decors throughout other mods and modders resources. #8. Create a young, sexy, well-dressed, female NPC companion witch that buys, sells, repairs, trains, and recharges as your grotto assistant/partner. #9. Make the grotto cell allow you to fast travel out OR install a pair of portals to and from for wuick access. #10. Finally, install a double bed, wardrobe, drawers, tables, chairs, and any other amenities that the modder wishes for this to have (especially for the witch-she'll be living there you know) I don't think that this would be a difficult mod to do for someone who is experienced and has a similar vision as I do for the finished product. I posted this here under mod talk since I wanted to mention my discovery of the grotto floor after I removed teh water and the boulders. I also posted a similar request in the mod ideas forum. What I DON'T feel is needed is yet another dark santuary, necromancer, blood lust lair (we already have enough of those). This should be a place of upscale oppulance worthy of the rest of the Castle's remake AND the Lord or Lady of the Castle. I REALLY hope that someone out there takes on this project. I have a lot of what I feel are good ideas but lack the know-how to construct them. If anyone wishes to discuss this any further, they may email me directly at [email protected] Thank you.
  23. Got their voices back! Apparently it was and is part of this same problem I am having across the board with oblivion running in WIN 7. I have completely reinstalled it directly to the C: Drive bypassing that rediculous (Programs x86) folder, BUT, while it is better and some things are working, I continue to have some problems including the continued game-freeze on fast travel and/or trying to enter certain exterior cells. Anyway, my orcs and kajhits are talking again.
  24. I have yet another Kvatch Rebuilt Issue. I love the mod and it has worked great except for a few minor issues including NO available walkthrough to help you as you stumble blindly through the quests. The city is complete (so I've been told by messanger), I've fought in the new arena, and saved the guy so as to become the new Count. NOW I find out I can become Countess (I could have from the get go-didn't know that), eventually I'm suppose to have a portrait "painted" of me, and a statue made in my honor in the city. I've waited and waited for further things to happen. I was told I can still become count/countess (eventually) because the new, current Count will talk to me and decide he doeswn't want to become Count. I have the choice yes or no to take over the job. ALL THIS I have been told by various members' comments on TesNexus. HERE'S MY QUESTION: Is ANY of this correct? If so, How much longer (in real or Tamriel time) am I suppose to wait? AND has anyone done a walkthrough of this mod's mini quests to help answer this and so many other questions? Tired of waiting! HELP!
  25. I have Kvatch Rebuilt Mod installed (Incredible, Fantastic mod) and the city is complete. Already fought in the new arena. Have AWLS installed along with the Kvatch Rebuilt Meshes and the Brumbeck Textures as recommended. Everything works great all across Cyrodil even the Kvatch Chapel, BUT NOT the building windows of the city. What's wrong? Is there more of the city to be done that I need to wait for? Are there missing textures in Brumbeck? HELP!
