So has anyone found mods that add FUNCTIONAL items to settlements. All the ones I have found add asthetic things, but not one has added any items that DO anything. Sure having more Water and Power is nice, but overall is meaningless unless I can somehow ACTUALLY benefit FROM SETTLEMENTS. Sure you gain exp from settlement building but you also gain exp from killing raiders, and raiders give you Guns, Armor, Chems, Caps, and more importantly Legendary Items. The Robot Workbench, Decontamination Arc, and various workshops are examples of the sort of things I want. They all add something FUNCTIONAL to the game that does not exclusively effect Settlement building. (Free Rad Scrub, Robots, expanded crafting options, etc)

The Problem With Settlements
threefoldmind replied to threefoldmind's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
1) Discussion Thread... I am not looking for "Answers" as much as I am looking to discuss. 2) I dont know of any mods that actually anything substantial to the settlement building. Most just add new junk to add on to your houses. Its all just pretty stuff to strap to itself with almost no functionality improvement. -
I agree with the sentiment that games need to be fun, which is why I am all for Optional Survival Mode, adjustable difficulty, and having multiple facets like the Shooter vs the Story vs the Settlement building. Though the community has an issue with letting people have fun their own way. I say enter godmode and enable max level Dem Experts at level 1 and grab your infinite ammo Two-Shot instigating MIRV Fat Man and go to town buddy. The game is meant to be enjoyed as a sandbox and by joel you will enjoy your sandbox.

The Problem With Settlements
threefoldmind replied to threefoldmind's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
That is nice and all, but the thing is that settlement building is still empty. Every character builds the same settlement over and over and none of them change the character. Imagine if instead of "Stuff gives you exp" it was "High Level Settlement Merchants Sell Legendary Weapons" and "The Gun Slinger Perk Gives Settlers Better Guns" and "Cannibal lets you build a thing so settlers eat people". Things that make improving settlements meaningful and reflective of the builder. Right now I can't resist taking Int 8 Str 4 Cha 6 Luck 5 on every character I make because thats all thats needed to build settlements. But what if YOUR BUILD ALLOWED YOU TO PERSONALIZE YOUR SETTLEMENTS EDIT: And the fact that "The Perfect Settlement" exists is an example of the problem. THERE ARE OVER 20 SETTLEMENTS AND YOU CAN BUILD "THE PERFECT SETTLEMENT".... whats the point of the other god knows how many? -
So I am a HUGE fan of settlement building. Like its all I do. To the point where I have played over 232 hours and have not met Nick Valentine... ever. But something has been getting to me and I had some trouble figuring out what it is until just a moment ago when I was asking around on Facebook for mod suggestions. Why doesn't my build matter for my settlements? That is to say why don't my perks change my settlement? I know some of you may be thinking "Well Hacker and Gun Nut and blah blah blah blah blah.." but those changes are either required (Gun Nut, Science, Armorer) or completely inconsequential (Hacker because terminals are stupid and I hate them). But what about the majority of perks in the game that just don't seem to affect your settlements at all? Like why don't the effect them? I know it seems silly, but what if "Gunslinger" made settlers appear with a higher chance to have better pistols, or Scrounger gave them more ammo, or Scrapper increased salvage rates? What if your build influenced your settlement? I mentioned somewhat invisible changes but imagine if having luck perks let you make casino stuff, or if having Inspirational made it so you could make stuff to make settlers cooler or better. Just something... something to make it feel like I matter in my own settlements.

See i figured the dialogue would be things like "Hey big guy, calm down" and the character could go into a dialogue where you can try to get it to leave you alone. It would probably be similar in design with "Intimidation Redone"
-
So this i in mod talk and not mod requests because I want to know if anyone has tried to make or knows of a mod that lets you play a coward and as well what others would think about that as an option. So the way I am thinking of it would replace Intimidation, Animal Friend, and Wasteland Whisperer with three different perks that allow you to "Cower" and pacify enemies which would trigger a scene where you can make speech checks or give them something based on what they are in order for them to leave you alone. Animal Friend would likely keep its name and like you cower to a bear and maybe you have the option to give it Deathclaw Meat or a Yellow check for Radstag Meat a Orange check for Molerat Meat or a Red check for Radroach meat and if you pass it leaves you alone, if you fail it goes back to attacking you and cant be influenced again. Could follow similar models for all three perks, and maybe higher levels let you convince them of other things like "paying" them to attack their friends or do stuff for you much like the Intimidation perks already do. It would probably be a big undertaking but I would love to see it and really want to know what others think of it.

How To Add Automatron Voices
threefoldmind replied to threefoldmind's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Im not asking how to make the Voice files, I am asking how to add the option to the Workbench under voices -
Okay so I have friends who want to make robot voices for Automatron, but the deal is I do not know how to add the option or make the audio files reference that option or what ever. Is there anyone here who can help point stuff out and kind of give me the step by step so I can gives all my friends cool new voices for automatrons.

I am amazed that I have not found any new Robot Voice mods... like I thought by now they would be everywhere but alas I cant seem to find them.

Are there any mods that let you play as a guard? Like maybe give events in city of like "Drunken Brawl", Thievery, and bandit raids? I know in the main cities the stewarts seem to give radiant bandit quests, but you travel out for all of those and I was just wondering if there were any where I could just be a Guard.
-
I am actually just looking for general mod suggestions. Just give a brief description of a mod you like and why you enjoy it in your game.
-
Sounds like a mod, but still amazing idea.
-
Well all the Daedra directly give you quests. So... yes.
-
So I really want a mod that allows me to make my own insignia and colors for my own army or something. It would be awesome to have EFF active and all of my guys in "Team Colors". Maybe have banners, or cloaks, but at least having the "Guard" style armor would be amazing.

Is it too late for me to start woking on a mod?
threefoldmind replied to dreamer2008's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I am still actively playing and modding my game of Skyrim. I can't make mods so any mod made is something I appreciate -
The representation of the Aedra in Skyrim is so underwhelming.
-
So I am looking for a mod that makes the Dragonborn an NPC in the game. I don't really want to BE the dragonborn but think that it would be fun to help him, or try to fight him.

Minorly Infuriating Text For Perks
threefoldmind replied to threefoldmind's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I have it but it still cuts off my descriptions -
So whether I am using SkyRE, PerMA, or Ordinator I always end up with a few perks at least where the description of the perk does not actually fit on my screen... Why is this? I cant use these mods because it keeps happening and I do not even know what to search on nexus to fix it.
-
Okay so I am looking for the mod/mods that make Skyrim less graphics intense and looks more cartoony but I can't seem to get anyone to tell me which mod/mods are involved. The end result looks something like this https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/12032957_999343730126738_1028771332204595849_n.jpg?oh=7f384df1b55aeb04c9bf80620e66360e&oe=56A04059 I am using ULG which doesn't seem to actually do it.

Wow is that really it? I mean I did the quest for Falk Firebeard in Solitude, and Svari's quest to get her mom to go back to the temple so. Both which I consider service to the Divines (Keeping a powerful undead from rising, thus serving Arkay and bringing a mourner back into the church kind of serves all divines). I also am trying to maintain at least 1 blessing, 1 holy symbol, and gift of charity at all times. Hrmm, how can I make this play through more expansive?
-
So I am looking for quests for each of the Divines and so far have only found quests for 2 of them Mara and Dibella. With that said I am wondering if the Vanilla game even has quests for the other 6 or the false god Talos. I am much more interested in these over the lame quests for the Daedric princes.
