Thanks Layia28 ! I will try that out tonight. for SKSE - this time I used the installer that it came with. But I'm on a windows 8 PC so maybe I should try uninstalling and re-installing it. That texture optimizer sounds good. And I think the crash is during the loading screen. It makes the sounds like I arrive at the destination, but the screen stays dark or on the loading screen. I have to physically reboot my computer (and I'm worried that is not good for it). BUT - when I go to load my latest save game - I'll have an auto-save at the destination. Thanks for taking the time to help and post the links!

be sure to save before you talk to Falion and also before you do the "ceremony to turn human again". I had Falion "cure" me but my character's eyes stayed red and then I was still "allergic to sun light. So I had to try again from a prior save. Maybe it was just me / a glitch that one time.

can you turn invisible to get through the door?

1. Everything is possible. 2. Skyrim already has a spell to conjure up characters like Fire Atronachs and ... that Ancient shrowded assassin guy. So this would be like that, but instead of a glowing transparent "spectral blue", the level 1 could be a semi transparent black shadow look. Level 2 looks more like you, but the colors are black and grey. And then Level 3 is just a clone of your character. And here is another idea - maybe the first two "shadow" characters can't be hit with arrows, (because they are shadows) but they are more vulnerable to light, and magic. So they don't last as long during the day. But at night time or indoors... There is a mod called "Alternate Actors" and in that mod, you can take over and control another NPC and then your character becomes a follower. So maybe this mod could use some of that mod's scripting?? I'm basing all this on my absolutely ZERO experience. So keep in mind that I don't know anything and I'm really not even that bright to begin with. :) Alternate Actors Mod: (warning this mod gave me a lot of crashes, and I ended up uninstalling it.) but still a cool concept though! ... I can't seem to access it right now - but I'm pretty sure that is the right name.

I also had a lot of problems starting yesterday - and if was after I installed the new SKSE and SkyUI. Does the new SkyUI use up more RAM than the older one? I just heard about the 3GB limit in Skyrim. And I noticed the CTD or hanging for me seems to happen after I've been sorting through my excessive inventory and looking at custom clothing and armor mods with high resolution textures. It seems like that, plus my using the SkyUI hot keys to change gear, and then a fast travel, and I crash.

I love Skyrim and I've become addicted to new mods. Unfortunately, I think I've hit my (my computer's) limit and my game seems to CTD (does that mean Crash to Desktop??) or just hang and freeze on the inventory menu a lot now. Someone said that might be due to the Skyrim Ram limit of 3gb. (I have twice that RAM on my PC). I'm about to finish the main quest, and I want to know if I should uninstall and reinstall before I move on to the Dragonborn DLC??? If I do, do i need to deactivate all the Mods in my Nexus Mod Manager first?? How do I save my current character "Thora de Explora" and her skills and perks? I first noticed the CTD and hang happening more frequently after I installed the mods "Art of Magicka" and "Princess of the Woods". Both are clothing and armor mods. And then the new SKSE and SKY UI with the 8 "favorite outfit" slots. but I have over 80 mods loaded now. So... it might be a good time to re-evaluate. Can anyone offer advice on how I should proceed before I venture out on my own and make a mess?? And has anyone put together a list of the best "must have" mods and then the ideal load order for them?? Thanks in advance for helping a fellow traveler!! Best! LTK

runningaround you are ALSO my Hero of the Day!! The Throwing weapons mod was working fine for so long...???? But I uninstalled it and now everything works again. I may try and reload it again later. I've grown attached to my Captain Skyrim Shield!!! Thank you again running around!!

there is a mod that does what you are talking about. It is not perfect, but it is pretty cool. I have it loaded right now and I love it. Alternate Actors - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36047//? you can even switch to other NPCs like Carlotta or Ysolda of Whiterun.

There is a heavy armor perk that reduces the damage you take from falling. Is there a mod that would further reduce it? - and maybe also create a shockwave when the powerful Dragonborn jumps down and hits the ground!! Thanks!

there is a perk that has a charge attack / one handed jump stab. Maybe someone could use that as a starting point?

Is there a mod that will allow you to carry a one handed sword on your back like a two handed sword? I want to use a one handed katana sword, but I don't like having the scabbard or sheathed blade on my hip. I think it looks cooler to have it on my back. Thanks in advance for any advice!! LTK

That is a cool idea. - similar to Batman's shockwave attack in Arkham City or the "impact" dragons have in the Dragon Combat Overhaul mod. - you are dragon born. Maybe you are able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and then crash down and stagger all those around you. "May the ground quake as you pass."

Is there a mod that would allow you more control over your followers? for example, I'd like to be able to take a follower to the Face Sculpter in Riften, and then change their face, race, hair, clothing etc, and their magic/ weapons, and then return them to their daily lives. It would be a way to remove some of the old women in Whiterun, and replace them with beautiful young Orc girls. :) Thanks!

This is a great idea!! You could have the spell "level up" or have new spells. Level 1 - your shadow self jumps in to watch your back and fight with you. Level 2 - your "clone self" can be a temporary follower. Level 3 - full / permanent (until killed) clone that divides your health in half every time you create a new one.

is there a way to "dress" other NPCs that are not followers and make them retain that outfit?? For example - the house bards that come with the player homes in Hearthfire. Thanks!

I have the 3 Hearthfire homes, and I like the idea of the female bards in the house, but they are really unattractive. Is there a way to either improve the default look of the bards and their clothing? - OR - allow the player to select their outfit? For example - the Nocturnal dress, or another custom outfit? It has always been my dream to decorate my Palace with beautiful women wearing the Slave Leia, Lyn Me, and Oola gear. Thanks! LTK

That would be Awesome!! I'm surprised there are not more Thundercats / MOTU mods on here already. Let me add to your already great idea... 1. There is already the Sabercat in Skyrim, so maybe a great modder could use that as the base. Then just change it / equip it like a glove. 2. The sword would be sheathed in the glove shield, then grow to full size when you pull it out. 3. Maybe do a quest for the kajite people to get the sword? a Cheetara companion would be a great addon.
