I know what you mean about Oblivion being so old and still costly. Although, I prefer to have my games on hard disc rather than from Steam or D2D. That being said, I am apprehensive about Skyrim being a download from Steam like FNV is. I am just not a fan of downloaded games. As for creating characters in FO3 I just can't seem to get them right. I have Josef_Greys_Makeup_Face_Re-texture installed, but I am not a big fan of Gothic makeup. Just for example, now this might sound silly, but I prefer creating the female character with what women are wearing today for makeup. For another example, if you have noticed Pink lip gloss, in various shades, is very popular today. Hair color is as vast as the Mojave wasteland and the District of Columbia. Eye shadow is the same way. Now, granted we are talking about a wasteland wrought by a nuclear blast and makeup may be the farthest thing from a male's mind and eye, but most women will never stop trying to improve their appearance even in a wasteland. Geez, the Native Americans used to wear war paint of various colors. The problem with modern man is that they can't think or see beyond present day. Imagine, if you will, if the world was plunged into nuclear chaos who would survive? My guess is the homeless would more than any other class of people in the so-called civilized world. They already know how to do without, scavenging for food and clothing and shelter. The second group would be the survivalists who looked ahead and prepared themselves. The rest of civilization would certainly perish almost immediately. Ironically, I don't think very many people realize just how very close we all are to the Fallout scenario, given today's upheaval in the Middle East. We are all treading on thin ice. However, I am off topic and fear a reprisal from the monitors. Thanks for listening.

Typically, I only play as a woman PC. I much prefer to watch a female butt running around hacking and slashing (or shooting) than watching some male butt. And, I never ever play Zevran. I simply don't like his character, so I kill him off just as soon as I meet up with him. I don't much like Alister either, but you can't win the game without him. As it is right now in DAO I have eight female characters that I am playing. I have Oblivion too, but I have the downloaded version from D2D and can't install the OBSE. As far as mods go it's no fun with out it. Steam wants $25 bucks. However, I am holding out for Skyrim. In the meantime I am also playing FO3 and FNV: And, I am doing voice overs for a huge unofficial DLC mod for DAO. I may be retired but I try to keep busy.

Project Nevada & Unified Hud Not working
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Well now-w-w! It seems that after uninstalling everything and I do mean everything --including the FOMM and Steam everything seems to be working now. However, I have yet to test the wsex Innuendo mod--as I am still in Doc's house. For whatever reason I have to install the following before all else. 1.) Project Nevada 2.) Primary Needs Hud 3.) Unified Hud Project 4.) BOG Dimonized BERRY HD Nude Body Replacer 5.) Wsex (and its 2 corresponding .esp's) 6.) Shiloh Desert Succubus -
I have for the upteenth time uninstalled and reinstalled FNV more goddamn times than I can count: and, I can count pretty goddamn high for an old man. What I am not is modder with a Doctorate in game development and scripting. I am a total dunce when it comes to that sort of thing. Fact is, I can barely spell HTML. So, now that I am done venting, here are my issues: I have installed in the game my game 1.) Project Nevada 2.) Primary Needs Hud 3.) Unified Hud Project 4.) Wsex (and its 2 corresponding .esp's) 5.) Shiloh Desert Succubus and a whole s*** load more. Now, when I am in game the dialogue menu is still the vanilla one, not the one that resembles a Pip boy --or whatever you want to call it. Secondly, I have for weeks been trying to find out what certain things mean within the FOMM. Because when I access the package manager I see an "error" message highlighted in salmon pink, beneath the column "Web Version," which is listed on the same lines as "Project Nevada" and "Unified Hub Project." When I run a load order report it indicates that Project Nevada needs NVSE to run properly. However, NVSE is there and it is running properly--as far as I know. Conversely, when I run FNVEdit everything works according to it. Is there anyone out there that has and inkling as to what the heck is going on. I am at my wits end. Thank you. Jallard

I finally got the GECK to work with FO3, because I uninstalled FNV, for the moment. However, as far as trying to access the Dim Custom Races presets, by selecting data in the GECK, all that I see after it downs the files are the Vanilla races: The ones I am trying to avoid with a passion. I guess there is just no end to my nightmare.
-
You got that right, my friend!
-
I know and each time I try to install the one for FO3 it wants to reinstall the one for FNV. I have tried it a half dozen times. I also tried to select data with that one, because I have a preset there, but nothing happens. Nothing gets downloaded into the GECK. I appreciate all your help, but my patience has run its course and i am going to stop, before i have a heart attack. I will just stick with what works best Dragon Age Origins. At least there I have the freedom to create a Victory Secret model-- unlike in FNV and FO3. For me it's all about eye candy. Without it the game is no fun. But, that's just me. Thanks for all your help.
-
I have a problem with that. When I click on data all that is in there are the files from FNV and not FO3. How do I get the files for FO3?
-
I have a problem with that. I downloaded and installed the GECK, but I can't find any face gen creator anywhere in GEC. What are you talking about. Please enlighten me. Thank you.
-
Thanks, but I still don't understand what you are talking about. I didn't see any of that stuff when I opened the GECK? In fact, everything was greyed out. I even tried to use the fac gen exchanger and transfer a face from FNV to FO3 and it doesn't work, because of the difference in the sliders, apparently. Besides, the only presets that I have downloaded from Nexus are just .esp files.
-
I checked out the G.E.C.K. At 64 years old, I don't think I will live long enough to learn how to use it-- let alone create a face gen. Now that I am thinking about it I am apprehensive about having pre-ordered Skyrim, if they refuse to spend money on the character creator I will refuse to spend money on the game. Perhaps that's why i keep going back to Dragon Age Origins.

Check out the chic in the screen shoots "For a few poses more." I can't even get close to that.

500 Things You Learned in Fallout 3
jallard replied to soulknightX's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
No cosmetology in FO3's character creator. Only bland, generic PC's. This is what I have learned: and, have come to dislike. -
Hi, One of my biggest pet peeves with FO3 is the lack of cosmetology in FO3's character creation. I understand the argument that Bethesda/Obsidian had no budget to spend on the character creator and therefore PC's are ugly and disgustingly generic. But, try as I may with the help with all of the modders out there my characters still come out bland with absolutely no individual character whatsoever. Just this morning I did a complete and clean uninstall of FO3 and reinstalled the game. I then went to FO3Nexus and installed several hair, eyes, and eyelash mods stupidly thinking that for once I could create a character of my liking. But, lo and behold after playing though the stupid opening for ten minutes, I finally got to at least see the teenage version of my character; and, again I was sadly disappointed in my creation. Here's why: 1.) Lip color: Deep red or none and no in between. No pink, not even black. Just the generic red. 2.) Eyeshadow: Nothing that I can see. No greens, blues, reds, browns or black even: and, no level of intensity. Just generic nothing. 3.) Blush Color: Nonexistent, with no level of intensity. I really would like to understand how it is that when I view screen shoots from other players their characters seem much more vibrant and alive. How are they doing this? What mods are they installing to create such awesome characters? Does anyone really know? Any thoughts, comments or even criticisms on this would be most appreciated. Thank you. Jallard

I don't know what it is about Bethesda's character creators, but I simply cannot create beautiful women –or men for that matter. The latter always seem to come out looking like square jawed Dudley Do Rights. The women are indescribable. Even with my favorite HD Berry body replacer my women do not fare well. Conversely, when I create characters in Dragon Age Origins character creator, while the men don't fare much better than in FO3 or FNV, the women…..Ah, the women! They come out looking like Victory Secret models. (And, when you add Tnt's Veritable Fongee clothes to the character. A Goddess is thus created for the kingdom of Forelden!) Perhaps Bethesda or Obsidian didn't allow for much of a budget for character creation as Bioware seeming did for DAO. (However, Bioware did slack off a little for DA2.) I don't know, I guess it's the sliders. For example, when you one slider moves several move along with it and that's totally confusing to me. In DAO you had many, many choices. For example, just for the face alone you have eleven options–from Blush color and intensity to eye shadow and tattoos. We don't have that luxury in Oblivion, FO3 and FNV. Therefore, just when I think that I have created someone very special; and while I am pleased with the overall look in the character creator; the end result in-game is seemingly vastly different and, for me, very disappointing. Just today I have tried 5 times to create a female character to my liking and failed each time. What's also disappointing is that it distresses me to the point that I quit playing FO3 and go back to playing DAO. For me, at least, character creation is an integral part of playing the game. If I am going to spend a 100 hours or more play through FO3, for example, the esthetics has to be exceptional, much like the scenery that surrounds me in the game. I suppose that's the job of all those wonderfully creative modders out there in cyberspace and perhaps beyond, who many of us adore and appreciate immensely. Anyway, now that I have gotten that off of my chest I will go play some Dragon Age Origins, for a feel good change in demeanor. Thank you.

For a Few Poses More Not Working
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Well, I haven't the foggiest notion how or why, but I just had it working for 4 different poses. Here's what i did: 1.) In third person after opening the console, I typed in "TFIK," followed by "TFC" and left clicking on PC: and, hit enter. 2.) Typed in "Player.playidle f162 (148, 133, and 109) and hit enter; and, exited out of the console. There she was in the pose that I had selected. Now the kicker of course is the same problem that I have with FNV. I had to type the follwing 4 time get get back to normal" 3.) "TFIK" > "TFC > Left click on PC > "Player.playidle reset." There is no other way for me to get back to normal playing view. Now, the question is, why would that be different from the way in which you do it on your system? Does it have to do with ones's computer or the game itself? My game, however unfortunate, is a downloaded version from Direct2Drive, that awful gaming site. In closing, I want to thank you for your assistance. It was most appreciated. I was all but ready to give up --because my lack of patience for troubleshooting computer and software technology. -
For a Few Poses More Not Working
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Sorry if this sounds a bit clumsy but, did you bring up the console first by pressing the "^" key (the one next to the number 1 in the top left corner on your keyboard? Of course I use the tilde. How else are you going to into the console? But, you cannot key hit the f key while your in the console. I use my wheel on my mouse to get into what i think is 3rd person. Then I access the console type in tfc: left clink on the PC or NPC and then type in the Player.playidle f162, for example. I have also tried the TFIK, as well. It just isn't working. Incidentally, when I am playing FNV and try to access the poses it all works -- with the exception that I have to type in Player.playidle reset 4 times to get out of it. -
For a Few Poses More Not Working
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
I just tried what you suggested. I hit the "F" key first, which takes me away from the PC, so you can't left click on it to select it. I typed in "tfc" followed by "Player.playidle f162": Nothing. Not a goddamn thing happened. It isn't working for me. -
For a Few Poses More Not Working
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Fire and foremost, the directions that I have been following are directly from the description page, For a few Poses More, as follows: How to use ------------ 1. Choose Third person view. Open console, and type."tfc" (Without quotes) and close the console. 2. In tfc mode, click on your character or any npc. A reference name must appears in the top of the screen. 3. Type: playidle "f00" to "f170" (without quotes) 4. To reset a pose type: playidle "reset" (Without quotes) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't realize that you had to hit the "F" key first? I assumed that if you were standing behind or in front of the PC that you were already in third person. I have been playing video games for years and never knew you had to hit "F" to be in 3rd person? I guess I am the fool after all?!? -
Hi, I have installed "For a Few Poses More," but no matter how I try I cannot get them to work. I have tried every conceivable combination of said codes and still nothing works. I have followed the directions to the letter, as well. Still, nothing. Can anyone assist? Thank you.

You also need to do these edits \Steam\Steamapps\common\FalloutNV\Fallout_default.ini Thanks.

Well now, after completing a thorough uninstall of both FNV and Steam, using REVO to uninstall them: and then, reinstalling everything before I got to tired to continue, I found the conflicting mod with wsex Innuendo. It was NVSR stutter remover. That was in my animation folder along, with all the rest of the animations that I use. I keep a folder for FNV Mods on my desktop and the mods within are separated by type in corresponding sub folders. Happy Days!
-
Thanks, but I am already using it. As far as I can tell it is only good for testing a load order and nothing more: and, therein, lays the problem. It will tell me what that the load order is and if it is correct. It is just like there are times when I can go into the package manager of the FOMM and the word "error" will be listed under the column "Web Version" for the "Unified Hud Project" and "Project Nevada" and a couple others. Then again, I can close the program, go back in and everything is fine. Yet both mods (or all) are still working despite the error message?!? I do know that those two mods,"Unified Hud Project" and "Project Nevada," need to be installed first on a fresh install, before anything else, to work properly. At least that's what I have experienced recently. However, if that isn't enough it seems like every time I enter (and some times exit) a door --any door-- the game or my video card locks up. So, I am constantly saving. However, I get so engrossed in the that I often forget. Also, as I am playing along and the game begins to jerk --or stutter-- that is a sign that a lock up is imminent: and, sure enough it happens. I have installed an anti stutter mod, but it doesn't help much. Again, I sincerely appreciate your response and I will look over the tutorial for FNVEdit. Thanks again. Jallard

Hi, folks! First and foremost, I am only a user of mods and have no experience otherwise. I don't have a clue as to how to figure it out, much less where to look for said mod conflict problems. I am currently having problems with, I believe, some mods conflicting with one another. It seems like every time I try to enter a door the game freezes up. Moreover, I have installed "wsexInnuendo" and when ever I initiate sex the PC and the NPC in question --albeit Veronica or Boone-- the two of them still remain standing, but are meld into one another. (That being said, however, I still get the points.) Truth be known I have about 20 mods attached to the game. Below are my system Specs: 1.) Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3G 2.) Processor - AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.0GHz 3.) Memory on board - 4096 GB 4.) Video Card - XFX AMD Radeon HD 6850 2420MB - Driver Version 8.850 5.) Sound Card - Creative SB X-F1 - Driver Version 6.00.0001.1348 6.) Directx 11 7.) Monitor - HP 2310m Widescreen set at 1920x1080 My system may not be a speed demon but it plays both FO3, FNV and Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II quite well. Perhaps I have too many mods attached, but that should not be a problem, because DAO has over 40 mods attached and it hardly crashes at all. Again, all that being said, however, my question is; "Is there a utility program that will detect mod conflicts for FNV?" NVWrye Bash is totally useless as well. Thank you. Respectfully, Jallard
-
Thank you for replying. I have both the FOMM and the ArchiveInvalidation for starters. However, I don't have Wrye Bash. I iinitially installed the Ren/Soya Pack; however, soya's hair doesn't show up. Only the vanilla and Rens with its blindfolds and stupid frigging masks. Moreover, because I have a D2D downloaded version of Oblivion I can't run OBSE. Unlike Steam these cocksuckers won't allow it. Other than the damn hair and no OBSE the game is running ok. The biggest problem is me, because I simply don't have the patience to sit here and troubleshoot for hours on end. I sat down to play a game, not work myself into a friggin heart attack. Perhaps I should stick with what works best for me: FO3, FNV and Dragon Age Origins. In closing, I again thank you for responding. It was most appreciated.
