FNV FOMM: Load Order vs. FNVEdit
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
The load order list is updated. Try updating it and see if works out. If FOMM can't update, update using BOSS, which is where FOMM gets its sorting list form. Does the issue exist across several characters or just one character in particular? Does this still exist even if you deactivate all of your .esp's and .esm's? It could just be a bad save somewhere down the line if it happened recently... but that seems unlikely. Whatever you did worked. Thank you very much. As for the other I, being stupid, forgtot to deactivate Misty, Sunny and Cass from the package manager. DUH!!!! -

I went in and completely deleted Misty, Sunny, Veronica and Sonia and unchecked all the rest with the exception of the presets, hair, eyes and makeup and the animations. First of all, when I recruited Sunny, I had her leave the dog behind. So, when I restarted the game, in Primm, after deleting the aforementioned files, there stood Veronica, Sunny and her dog. I deleted that save, backed up restarted the game outside of Primm and again Sunny, the dog and Veronica are still present? -
FNV FOMM: Load Order vs. FNVEdit

Since I am a novice with mods and the FOMM I am not sure what you are asking in the way of plugins for both mods? The other thing that has been happening, as well, is when my PC and crew get into Primm and leave the Vicky and Vance Casino, if I pause and remain idle for even a moment my PC begins too sink beneath the ground: and until I press "W" to walk my PC stays gone. At first I was certain that it had to do with these two mods, discussed above: However, after uninstalling and reinstalling everything it hasn't done it again -- with the exception of the "Load Order" and the "FNVEdit" difference. If you could get back to me and let me know what plugins to look for I will get back to you. Plugin names are basically the names of the .esp's / .esm's that came with the download. Required plugins are the names of the plugins that that plugin requires. For instance, all mods require the FalloutNV.esm plugin to work. You can find this list by looking at the file header for the plugins in either the G.E.C.K, FOMM, or FNVEdit. As for your other issue, do you have any mods in particular that affect Primm in any such way? Both the RR Companion Vault and the Eve Companion are .esm All of the mods that I currently have are mods that I have had before. I suppose I will have to go through each and every one to see. I will get right on it and get back to you. I don't have anything better to do tonight. -
FNV FOMM: Load Order vs. FNVEdit
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
UPDATE: It is Primm that is causing my PC to sink --disappear--beneath the ground when standing idle. Even standing near the fence on the North side of Primm --coming in from the railroad tracks, if I save the game, close it out and restart that save my PC will immediately sink beneath the ground. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Your help in this matter will be most appreciative. In the meantime, I am going back to play Dragon Age Origins. It seems to be a little more stable with mods added. Thank you. -

I no more than finished typing this reply, went back to playing the game --the current saved game outside of the Vicky and Vance Casino and just to see I stayed idle of about 30 seconds and watched my PC slowly disappear beneath the ground. I uninstalled both the RR Companion Vault and the Eve companion mod, deleted saves back prior to entering Primm, loaded the save and stood idle for over a minute and my PC remained above ground. Now, I will go back into Primm and see if it happens again. Just so you know too, I also have picked up Misty and a companion outside of Primm. Perhaps it could be her mod as well, which requires NVSE --which I have v.10?!? -

Here is what it says in the RR Companion Vault description: As for the Eve Mod it seems to only require the RR Command Vault to work. -

Hi, all, Got a question for ya?!? I have installed and activated Eve Companion which requires the RR Companion Vault. Now, here is my question: When I check the "Load Order" it wants Eve's mod to load before the RR Companion Vault: Whereas, when I initiate the FNVEdit it comes up with an error, because it wants the RR Companion Vault to load first. Therefore, which one is right? Thank you. Jallard

Hi folks: I have a question: "What would cause your PC character to sink beneath the ground at the moment of idle: the moment you stop? And, another thing that I must ask, regarding the Mod Manager: What does it mean when you activate a mod via the FOMM package manager and after awhile it turns salmon pink: And, what does it mean when there is an "ERROR" message listed under the "WEB Version?" Thanks.

PC character, at idle, sinks beneath the ground.

Apparently no one knows what these problems are are or what causing them. So, moderator you can close this thread. It's rather pointless now. Thank you. -

Half the time the CharGenMorph Complier doesn't see all of the changenmorphfg.xml. Make sure you have the most recent version, (TerraEx updated it this month to handle DA2 as well.) Also, if you have any "non-default" paths for your mods you may have to adjust its settings, or clean-up/consolidate their locations. But as long as I had placed my mods where the Compiler expected to find them, I've NEVER had it fail to correctly merge everything. I'm currently running with nine CC mods, including about half the ones you listed. ('tho I do seem to remember something about "White Teeth" not playing well with others, but not sure...) where does the compiler find them? I tried locating the chargenmorphcfg.xml files in one location, but when i do that it seems like they override each other.

I have gone through it all and made certain that all the mods were up to date --even the compiler. But, here's what happens: I get the more hairs, but Tucked hair and Rens disappears. I get all of the hair, tats, eyes and makeup in, but the morphs disappear: and, visa versa. It's totally confusing to me.
-
How can I get all of the hair, eyes, makeup, and morphs to work together. 1. CC_Extra_Tints_and_Tones_v_1-3-69 2. Don't worry be hairy 3. Tucked Hair 4. Ren Hair 5. LOTC_s_Character_Creator_Longer_Eyelashes-1435 6. Bidelles_Cosmetics-473 7. More_Hairstyles_0_51-392 8. PTs_Vibrant_Colors_1_31-153 9. White Teeth 10. Presets-1917-7-6 11. WyldTat_Gradient The DA_CharGenMorphCompiler just doesn't seem to do the trick. Either that or I don't know how to use it properly. When you click on the option to scan for .xml files half the time it doesn't find any: or, so it seems. Thank you.

A Better Selection of Female Presets
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
Oh, cool! Is the G.E.C.K. working now. It wasn't after yesterday's patch. Thks. -
When it comes to creating PC's within FNV's character creator I am extremely terrible at it. I do a much better job with Dragon Age Origins character creator, with the exception of changing the looks of the men, who always come out looking like Dudley Do-Rights. With DAO's character creator, however, I can make my females PC's look like Victoria Secret models. With FO3 and FNV they come out looking like they really have been shot in the face. It's the sliders, I think. For me that's one of the biggest parts of my RPG experience. I mean with FNV's character creator it is super difficult for me to even distinguish the color of the eyes let alone the blush, the lip color and the eyeshadow. It seems like for some developers the character creator is an afterthought and not within the budget: So, it is the least developed?!? All that being said, however, I wish there were some better presets out there to choose from. Thank you.

This has probably been worked to death, but I must ask: I am looking for a companion friendly home, bunker or safe house where my companions will actually enter rather than congregating at the door? That so annoys me. Thank you. Jallard

Can't Install OBSE with the D2D downloable game
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I agree that FNV is a better game than FO3. Personally, I wasn't fond of the ending in FO3. I played the original Fallout game back in the 90's and I suppose I was looking for a similar ending --where the PC walks off into the sunset, not giving up his or her like for the good of the many. Notwithstanding, I am also disappointed in FNV's ending as well. I would have liked to have had my PC taking over New Vegas in which everyone prospered and worked together. In the game "nothing changes." But, that was the theme, wasn't it? Despite all of his or her efforts nothing changed. Still, I suppose somewhere in the near future our great-grand kids will experience it for real, the way things are going: But, that is another topic all together. I really, really hope that Skyrim is a stand-alone game. That too would piss me off it is a download from Steam. -

That being said, as a old man gamer on Social Security I would be willing to pay $100 for a game if it met my standards and it was very well developed. As an RPG the game it would have to be on the epic scale of Dragon Age Origins and hopefully Skyrim. In Dragon Age Origns you had practically everything from companions to romance, immersive dialogue and cut scenes that moved the story along. Sure, it took five years to make, but it still ranks 9.5 among users. It wasn't about fast Mortal Kombat style fighting that never seems to end like in Dragon Age 2. It was about character building and making decisions that affected the outcome of the game. And, once the modders were able to do their thing the game had become even more epic. I still play it today. It is my most favorite game ever. Sure, I have Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas still loaded on my system and I do still occasionally play them. But, even they aren't on the same scale as Dragon Age Origins. Say what you will about the differences in RPG game style I will stand by DAO. That's why I was so utterly disappointed in DA2. What crap! So, I hope that by pre-ordering Skyrim I won't be disappointed. Still, I have some confidence in Bethesda and certainly the modders out there. -

Can't Install OBSE with the D2D downloable game

So, in other words I only lease the game for $60 , I don't actually own it. Perhaps the EULA needs to change its tune. Or, perhaps I need to quit spending money renting and playing video games: one or the other?!? I should be able to play the game as I wish, I still paid for it. If the developers can't produce a game with high resolution graphics, better animation and better human body shapes, then they need not be in business. I have only been modding my games for less than a year now and what amazes me is how dedicated, professional and artistic these modders are: That do the awesome things that they do. When they can enhance the playability of game to it make more enjoyable than the vanilla version I will support them to my death. That being said, it brings to mine why many game developers cannot do the same within their own vanilla version game? Like with Dragon Age 2 it was all about cutting cost and counting on a huge market share of profits. In then end, Dragon Age 2 game only scores a 7.3 among users. Nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face. -
Can't Install OBSE with the D2D downloable game
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Strange, because I had it working once before --before I had to reformat the hard drive and lost mostly everything. As a radical nonconformist I find it disdainful that D2D would do that. I bought the game. It's my game now. I should have the right to do with it as I will. One thing is certain, it convinces me not to ever by another downloadable game ever again. Perhaps, that is why I was upset when I bought the disk version of FNV and then realized that it was a downloaded version from Steam. Still, Steam doesn't encrypt the .exe: thank God. Apparently, Steam does encrypt the exe, but Valve worked with the OBSE devs to get it working anyway. I see. -
Can't Install OBSE with the D2D downloable game
jallard replied to jallard's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Getting back on track with the thread, in my opinion, once that purchased game comes across the counter to the consumer or paid for and downloaded to the consumers PC, it is the property of the consumer and therefore he or she should be able to play the game as they wish. Fortunately Bethesda is once such company that apparently recognizes this and allows for modders to enhance the game's playability. Incidentally, when I watched that interview about Skyrim on GameSpot they were highlighting the game play in the background. You actually got a chance to see how the game is "actually" played. That, not exactly in and of itself however, allowed me to chose to pre-order the game. I respect Bethesda for their professionalism --unlike Bioware/EA for example, who hid the game play for months with their theatrical cut scenes --until a couple weeks prior to release when they released a demo of the game. This, after many people had pre-ordered the game and for some are now very disappointed in their purchase, like myself. In a sense Bioware/EA fooled the public. However, that is just my opinion as one who felt fooled into purchasing the game. Kudos to Bethesda for showing how the game is actually played.
