  2. What is it that breaks the CK? First and foremost, I am speaking in regards to a freshly installed Skyrim and the Creation Kit itself. I was able to recreate the NPCs that I wanted to recreate: However, when in the middle of my game I wanted to recreate another NPC the CK was flawed. [is it the Apachii Sky Hair mod or the fact that you altered the SkyrimEditor.ini file, to allow for multiple master loads?] It is flawed in that when you check the “Head” box and the image appears the forehead of the NPC is rust colored and will show up in the game as well. In addition, when you go to STEAM and “right click” on properties and select “local files” and then “Verify Integrity of Game Cache,” it indicates that 31 files failed and will be reallocated: and, even afterwards the Creation Kit is still flawed with the same problem? I don’t get it? Can someone please explain? Thank you.
  3. I am still unclear as to how to consolidate several NPCs into one .esp along with their meshes and textures. The NPCs that I currently have recreated in the CK are all individual--meaning that I have five NPCs in my load order. Could someone please point me to a tutorial that explains how to consolidate these NPCs into one single plugin? I would really appreciate it much. Thank you.

Unofficial Hearthfire Bugfix Thread on STEAM: I have done everything that is expected of me that has been recommended in the above thread to resolve the problem with the Lakeview Manor Steward not responding appropriately: And still I cannot get Lydia to purchase a horse, a carriage, cow, chicken or that stupid Bard. The only mod I haven’t deleted to see if that is the problem is SkyTest: Realistic animals…… I have deleted UFO and Lakeview Manor Extended as well. When you engage Lydia in conversation there is no option to ask her to purchase any of the above items. The only intercourse there is relates to her being your companion. Yet, she has accepted her position as the Lakeview Manor Steward and she won't follow you. I don't suppose there is a console command that would allow me to spawn those things on my own is there?!? THanks.
  5. Neither SKSE 1_06_09.7 or 1_06_10.7 are working with the Beta Patch: And, it was just working a few minutes ago?!?
  6. For all intent and purposes everyone the two mods that were effecting my NPC remakes were "UFO" and "Housecarl Sandbox Fix."
  7. I just finished trying to change Mjoll. Here's what I did with only the ApachiiSkyHair mod installed: At first I just changed her vanilla hair to an Apachii Sky Hair style. I started a a new game jumped to Riften and she appeared as I had intended. I then went back into the CK and changed her Eyeliner to a custom color, as I did with the blush and the lip gloss. I even removed her warpaint. I went back into the game to see if the custom colors were there and lo and behold she was colorless. Just as bland as could be. Now, I have uninstalled both the game and the creation kit several times and nothing changes. Apparently for me I can do whatever I want with the NPC except make any cosmetic color changes. As I said, I have been working on this since 2:00AM this morning and it is now 3:39PM here in Portland, OR USA. Am I a little frustrated, absolutely! And, if I seem a little short, I apologize.
  8. After much trial and heck of a lot of errors. I am thoroughly convinced that you cannot make changes to NPCs. I have been at it today for 12 hours fiddle frigging around with trying to change the NPCs that I wanted to change. Changing vanilla hair to ApachiiSkyHair as well as eyeshadow, lip gloss and blush. The CK does not like ApachiiSkyHair and will not show it an either the full body or the head render windows. I went in game to check what I had created and the one NPC was two-toned and bald. All I know how to do is make the changes, press Ctrl + F4 and save. Beyond that i don't know anything about creating BSA files. I am not a quitter, but this is ridiculous. As you say apparently I am not smart enough to figure things out. Then again I am 66 years old and that is my one and only excuse.

Ctrl + F4 does work you have to wait for it, it takes a little while. and you must not have you npc in the world first. you must Ctrl F4 first then place your npc.Pardon my stupidity, but when I first changed the NPCs that I wanted to change I had yet to start a game. In fact, it was at the beginning of a fresh clean reinstall of the game and the Creation Kit: And, the only mod that had been installed was ApachiiSkyHair. And, I have known about Ctrl + F4 for several months now. But, thanks for responding all the same.
  10. Well I created the .esm. However, Serana did not appear as I had intended her to. I had to go into the Skyrin data folder and delete the files in the faceGenData / Dawnguard folder: And, then, I went an took out the "Tintmasks" folder and placed it on my desktop. I then went back into the CK and recreated Serana to my liking --as an .esp-- and lo and behold if it didn't work. Serana is now as I created her. I have yet to see Lydia or Rayya: But, I can bet they didn't work either. Although Saadia appeared as intended. I am still having the same problem too Jallard. Still don't know the answer either. I guess we'll call it a mystery.

  12. I am going to make one final attempt to get to the bottom of why my custom colors “Eyeshadow,” “Blush,” and “Lip” gloss never appears in game when I work with Lydia, Saadia, Rayya and Serana?!? I have tried asking the same question(s) before and have gotten several different responses: And, while I have tried them all it never seems to work. For example, yesterday I deleted the “Data” folder in Skyrim and replaced it with a fresh copy. I then proceeded to install ONLY “ApachiiSkyHair” and “EyesofBeauty.” I then opened up the CK and proceeded to make the “Custom” color cosmetic changes –as described above--to the above NPCs. When I went in game, after reinstalling all of the mods that I use, I fast forwarded to Whiterun to check on Saadia. Her cosmetics were exactly as I intended them to be. Then I “player.moveto” Serana and opened up her cage: Only to find that there were no visible changes to Serana at all. And, for those who are wondering, I always perform the ctrl+F4, before saving. Incidentally, in BOSS it tells me that there are two .esps of Lydia, when I can only find the one that I created. After much fiddle frigging around I managed to fix Serana, but when I went back to Whiterun to check on Saadia her cosmetic custom color changes were gone completely. Can someone please tell me how and why this happens and how to fix it? Thank you ever so much. All that said, I haven't tried converting the .esp file to a .esm in Wrye Bash.
  13. Yes, then apparently it is caused by my CBBE face texture. At any rate, here is what happened moments ago: Okay! Here's what I did just moments ago and for some odd reason--owing it to Bethesda's (troublesome) Creation Kit: Before I went back into the Ck I opened up both the "Textures" and "Mesh" facegen folders and moved them to my desktop. Then I opened up the CK with the Lydia mod as active. I then proceded to ONLY change Lydia's hair color --leaving intact the changes that I had made previously. Did the "ctrl / F4" and saved it again --for the upteenth time. Lo and behold the damn thing worked! Why is that? ps I placed what was in the two new folders into the ones on my desktop and then put them back into my "DATA Folder."
  14. How do you remove grid lines on NPC face in the CK????????? Does any one have a solution as to how to remove the vertical grid lines on NPC faces? All I did was change Lydia's eyeshadow, upper cheeks and lips to a custom color. Now, when I get in game Lydia has vertical grid lines on her face. I can't seem to get rid of them. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you.
  15. In regards to Lydia. I can't seem to change her. What I mean is that the changes that I make don't appear in game. In addition, more than 50% of the time when I try to save the file in the CK it never opens the "save as" window. Therefore, I can't type in say, "Lydia." That said, I have no problems whatsoever with recreating of fixing any other NPC --in Skyrim, Hearthsfires or Dawnguard. It is just Lydia.
  16. Every time I try to load the Dawnguard.esm into the creation kit I get the following two error messages: 1.) "Masterfile: File.Update.esm is a higher version than this EXE can load." Despite the fact that I don't have it checked and I have included --bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1-- into the SkyrimEditor.ini file. Then when when I click on "Ignore all" or whatever says. (All the files are there damn it.) I get the next error message: 2.) Unable to find masterfile Update.esm Can someone please help me out here? Thank you.
  17. That scenario no longer works for me. That is, after fixinglip color and what not in the NPC Editor and saving and validating it the gamewill crash at the “New Game” or Continue” screen.

  19. Hi Folks! I have been working on creating a follower and everything works fine except in game the face and the body doesn't match the tones are totally off. I know that you are suppose to highlight your follower's name in the object window and press "CTRL>F4." But it isn't working. I have even tried changing the skin tone fro #1 to #2, for example and pressing "CTRL>F4 and it still isn't working. Moreover, The lip color never changes either. Con some assist please? Thank you.   20. Yep! I finally figured it out. You have to forgive my elderly feeble mind. Some days it is a wonder I can remember my own name. Anyway, I finally created my follower, but then it crashed my game at the start menu. However, I was able to load it in to the NPC Creator mod without a problem. I would imagine I needed to move it up or down in the load order, but I don't know how to do that with the NMM. No doubt at some point I will figure that out too. Thanks for you assist. It was much appreciated.
  21. <br><br>Thanks. I have watched BestininSlot's video, however, he doesn't explain how to move around in the Render window. Now if I can only figure why I was getting the following error message when setting up the Relationship: <br><br>"Form's ID is not unique. Previous form is type Relationship." It also did the same thing when I was trying to set up the AI Package.
  22. Hi Folks! I am having a problem with the Creation Kit and its Render Window. I want to place my follower in the "Sleeping Giant Inn?!?" When I tried to save in the "AI Packages" an error came up saying something about my package is not "Unique" or something to that affect. (I did have unique selected in the character creator) I don't know what it is referring to? In addition, where can I fine a Creation Kit Render tutorial on YouTube? I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Thanks. Jallard
  23. Forgive my confusion, but I think I understand?!? When I created my follower in the CK there was no option to select Apachii Sky Hair, for example. I had to go into the NPC Editor and chose the hair style that I liked on her. So in that regard after saving Athena to my personal game data folder I use the .esp and the .bsa files that the NPC Editor created. That is what I was going to upload to Nexus for others to use. Am I correct in assuming that I have in fact utilized the mesh and texture of the Apachii Sky Hair? Thank you. I live in fear of screwing up and getting banned. I have never done this before.
