  1. Oh, and here I was thinking we have some hermaphroditic members.
  2. Sorry, I should have specified Skyrim. Mileage varies, I still play TES4 and 5 but can't get into TES3 because every npc conversation is a wall of text and my ADD conflicts with that. Skyrim "works" as much as I need it to, at least until I overload it with too many mods and have to trim down again. Trust me, I can break Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout NV just as easily as Skyrim from overmodding, and it's not hard. I should make it clear though, I am not criticizing ENBSeries, I am just trying to find a settings file that doesn't require me to use a bunch of other mods that I don't want to use in order to get it (the settings file) to work the way the author intended it to. I also use ELE, I use it because I choose to, not because some ENB settings author has specified that it has to be used to make his/her ENB work properly. I use the particle patch and subsurface scattering patch as well, because I like them, not because they're "required" for a particular ENB. I have since gone back to Skylight ENB simply because it works fine with whatever I decide to use with it, but it's a case of not really doing what I want yet coming as close as I can find so far. Might try that Rampage one, it looks very nice, though that depends on how well it works without the SMAA proxy. My computer does not like SMAA. I dropped ELFX because of a conflict and replaced it with CoT + RLO, and also replaced Lanterns of Skyrim with Relighting Skyrim ( if I am remembering correctly, I do things late at night and the next morning the memory is fuzzy, which leads to endless hours of troubleshooting "entertainment" ;p ). This creates some other problems, like brilliant, immersion-breaking lights in distant caves that vanish when you get closer, but I haven't found any other substitute yet nor figured out why it happens.
  3. Is there no decent looking ENB in existence that doesn't require you to either: Install 57 (or any other number) of other mods to make it look "right". Use SweetFX, because for some reason ENBSeries just isn't "enough". Use some other effects mod like DynaVision, again becase for some reason ENBSeries just isn't "enough". or do something "else" beyond the ENB settings themselves to make it look good?
  4. In response to post #28509024. But what exactly is a non-mod author? Or more pertinently, what is a "non-mod"? How can we even know whether a person is an author of one or more non-mods until we know what a non-mod is?
  5. I don't have this mod, never knew it even existed, and still get the Braith problem.
  6. That's basically what I was hoping for. I don't use any of the original followers except when they are Farkused on me by Skyrim, but I pile on the follower mods like no tomorrow. I should probably only use one or two at a time, but it's hilarious going into third person mode in wide open spaces with half a dozen followers trailing after you, or trying to :)
  7. Thanks, I hadn't thought of that one. It's a little older than EFF but all I want is basics so as long as it works I will be more than happy.
  8. I have 11 followers I want to use, not including whatever one gets foisted upon me by quests, like Serana, Farkas, Vilkas or whatever. Do I have to have some kind of multiple follower mod, and if so which one will not conflict with Better Srealth AI and Follower Trap Safety? Or for that matter, will those two conflict? I was trying tog et EFF to work with those two and these follower mods: Vilja, Caele, Arissa, Cerwiden, Inigo, Kitiara, Lilium, Sofia, Loraine, Victoria Velinia and...hmm I forget the last one and she's long gone. I haven't even managed to get any of them activated yet, only EFF, BSAI and FTS, I have just had so many problems getting a running game going that I never got to that stage. I am so frazzled by trying to get my mods and the order they load in set up that I actually had to take several days off anything to do with Skyrim. Note: I have no intention of dragging all of them around with me at the same time, of course, just a few at a time like in STO.
  9. ok... Site: Skyrim Nexus (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim) Browser: Firefox 39.0 File: Any random file, always manual download. Favourite download location: Dallas (Premium), have tried Kent and Washington if I remember correctly but didn't notice any difference. Download method: Default pop-up. Have not changes this. It happens randomly, sometimes not occurring for a long while and then it will happen a few times out of, say, 10 downloads. It can happen at EST 7am, noon, 5pm, 7pm, midnight, at least those are the times I remember offhand when I checked. It happens whether I have one or half a dozen windows or tabs open, and it can be while I am downloading just one file or several. It happens when I am playing something on youtube, and when I am not; when I am downloading updates to Windows and not. I can't think of anything that is common to all occurrances. I will try switching my preferences around some more and give it a few days to see what happens. I will try CDN and separate page for now.
  10. I keep getting this notice when downloading. Not all the time, but quite frequently: Now since I am a premium member and have been for quite some time, it seems very odd that I am getting this message. The whole point of the premium membership/servers is to make downloading better for people who support the site, and we endured a lot of cruft during the network update a while back. Are the premium servers now overloaded? So what's going on?
  11. Go to your 'My Documents" folder and drill down to \My Games\Skyrim\ Open SkyrimPrefs.ini in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++, NOT a word processor. change "bEnableFileSelection=0" to "bEnableFileSelection=1" save Play Skyrim  For a more detailed troubleshooting description, go here: http://hypentech.blogspot.ca/2012/04/how-to-enable-mod-for-skyrim-all.html
  12. Cigar. Pipe on the outside. Dovahkiin don't smoke cigarettes. natch :P ...hookah perhaps.
  13. In response to post #19680304. Download speed? I can't download at all, at any speed. If I use NMM links I get a file not found error, and if I use manual I get a 0-byte file.
  14. I thought I had posted this already but I can't find it now, maybe I forgot to click the post button. I am trying to use a bunch of follower related mods together, and having a bit of trouble with it: Vilja Vilja in Solstheim Lilium Follower Trap Safety Traps Make Noise - Follower Trap Safety compatibility patch Better Stealth AI for Followers Fixed Followers Lite plugin I have used all but Lilium and teh last two mods together with no problems, and I can't see why Lilium would have compatibility issues since it is entirely self-contained, but not sure if the last two are conflicting with one another, or one of the others. Anyone got any advice? If all else fails I will open up the files and mash them together (or maybe carefully edit them ;p ) myself into a personal set of follower scripts, but I'm not much of a modder so I'd rather avoid it.
  15. Well, your first problem is that you are running Windows 8, but that can be tolerated :) Since you just reinstalled Windows, at least I hope you reinstalled it instead of trying to copy your old hard drive file-by-file over using a recovery utility, you should make sure you have all of the following installed, not just for Skyrim but for gaming in general: .NET Framework 4.5.1 Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64 Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable - x86 Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable - x64 Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable - x86 Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable - x64 Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable - x86 (three isn't an x64 version that I am aware of, at least I've never needed one) All of these can be installed and updated from Windows Update/Microsoft Update. Some of these might not exist for Windows 8. I doubt it, but I suppose it's possible, especially for the 2005 versions. If you are trying to use Mod Organizer, I strongly advise switching to Nexus Mod Manager until you are very familiar with how mods work, especially since you are using CBBE which has some significant issues under Mod Organizer. Also, if you have Skyrim, or pretty much anything else gaming-related, installed in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), I recommend you uninstall them, and reinstall them into a different folder. It can be on the same hard disk, for example C:\Games, or it can be on a different hard disk, like D:\Games or whatever, so long as it is not either of the Program Files folders. This is how I have it arranged: C:\Games\Skyrim C:\Games\Oblivion C:\Games\NMM C:\Games\BOSS C:\Games\LOOT C:\Games\Wrye Bash C:\Games\Mod Organizer Not only does it keep things nice and separate from your normal, non-gaming apps, it also bypasses the single most annoying feature of Windows 7/8: UAC (User Access Controls). Any program that someone recommends you run in admin mode, doesn't need that if it is installed outside of Program Files. Any program that needs to modify another programs files, for instance the way mod managers need to be able to add and remove files from your games folders, will work just fine without you having to make numerous risky changes to your file permissions and ownerships and possibly the Registry.
  16. Is anyone aware of script conflicts when using all of these follower mods together? Vilja Vilja - Solstheim Lilium Traps make noise / follower trap safety - compatibility patch Follower trap safety Better stealth Ai for followers Fixed followers lite plugin I am certain of all but Lilium and the last two working together as I've used them before, but my guess is that one of the last two is conflicting at some point with the others. I can't see where Lilium would interfere with the others since she is self-contained though I suppose it's possible. If I have to I'll rip them all open and hand edit the scripts for my own use, but if there's an easier way that anyone knows about I'd prefer to do it that way since although I have worked in many scripting languages I am unfamiliar with papyrus specifically.
  17. Try putting Civil War before Requiem. That shouldn't be the problem, but you have so few mods that those are the only two I can think of that might possibly be involved. I am assuming that "RAS - Riverwood Chargen" is an optional for Random Alternate Start and thus there is no conflict between the two files.
  18. I would have to concur about the too many mods, but to be more specific, too many scripts in those mods. It's unfortunate that Bethesda didn't have the bright idea of forcing the script engine to run on a different CPU core (if there is one, obviously, but who doesn't have at least a dual core in a gaming-capable system these days?) than the main game, but "que sera, sera".
  19. wow, just wow I would not have the patience, bravery and possibly even the brain power to tackle a task like this, but good luck with it. I am having trepidation just from the thought of tearing down all of the scripts in several follower mods to build a single set of scripts that have all the features (or at least, the ones that I want) of the separate ones, without the conflicts. Especially since I could never share my work, at least not without geting the permission of every single modder I "borrowed" from to build my custom set. Kudos and fair fortune, I hope you manage to get this all worked out.
  20. Race mods like this generally have their own texture folders so they won't use anything you install to CBBE folders unless you also install them to the race mod folders.
  21. I don't know where you got this idea but it's wrong. I've been using nVidia drivers for years and never had a problem that I couldn't resolve without resorting to using a different driver, though I have seen plenty of instances where game devs and players have all said, "you have to go back to driver xx.xxx because nVidia sucks" but someone eventually found out that the problem was not the driver at all, but something the player screwed up in the .ini files or some bug the devs were too quick to blame someone else on rather than examine their own coding to find out where they failed. Addicted: Mod Organizer has some core features that are nice for people who use a lot of mods and like to run different groups of mods (for different game experiences, or testing, or whatever reason) without having to basically wreck their existing mod set or maintain multiple installs of games. I am a little less enthusiastic about it than I was when i first started using it, but it's a good tool. There are some mods it is better to use a less...complicated manager for, because they rely on things being set up in the normal way and Mod Organizer completely trashes the normal way of doing things in favour of its virtual data folder system. I wouldn't recommend switching to it until you have a good, working mod set as a baseline to learn how it works compared to whatever you are using now.
  22. What in the world are you talking about? There is no requirement to buy anything anywhere on this site. The only requests for money that exist at all on this site are a) optional Premium server access via donations to the site and b) optional requests for donations by individual modders. Both 100% optional. You are fully able to download and use anything on this site without donating a single cent. All of the mod tools recommended on this site are free, this includes Nexus Mod Manager, Mod Organizer, BOSS, LOOT, TES5Edit, SKSE, ENB and anything else I might have missed. If you are having trouble getting things to work, then it's perfectly acceptable to ask for help, but this nonsenical rant against a conspiracy that does not exist is not going to make anyone want to waste any of their personal time helping you with your problem, whatever it actually is. It certainly isn't the site, since thousands of people use it daily without flying into fits of nerd rage.
  23. WinterholdDestruction.esm and ExpandedWinterholdRuins.esp are files from the same mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8333/? Open the archive and see for yourself. The problem is likely from using that mod and Immersive College of Winterhold together.
  24. wow, congrats on the awesome progress and many thanks for all the hard work on the part of all of the Nexus staff.
  25. I don't know about FNIS or ASIS, but you should be running BOSS second last, before Wrye Bash. WB should be the very last thing you run before launching Skyrim to test your load order.
