  1. Skyrim itself wasn't a big deal to me when it came out. I'd already been playing every PC game I could find/rent/buy since 1981/1982ish, and Skyrim itself wasn't remotely impressive to me. However, it's the first game for which mods were impressive to me. I remember installing a skin for CBBE which had blemishes and detailed textures and calling my girlfriend over to me to show my character's nude body and saying, "Wow, look how real this looks!" She marveled right along with me, and we had a conversation about how this was a milestone. That kind of realism has come much farther than 2011ish, of course. But every time there's a milestone in something, it makes me disdain anything which can't keep up. A game doesn't have working mirrors? We despise the laziness of the developers. [Duke Nukem when it first came out with 2D sprites was the first game we experienced with working mirrors.] A game has low polygon count clothing or skin? Bah humbug. A game has no reflections on mirrors and smooth surfaces? How awful! Skyrim AE with BnP skin and hi poly head is holding its own in today's world. But I still hate how clunky and unrealistic horses and horse riding is in Skyrim. Red Dead Online raised that bar back in 2019, and Skyrim AE came out in 2021, so I disdain horses in Skyrim. But that 8K BnP skin and Hi Poly head and a plethora of clothing and armor mods, yeah, they keep me appreciating Skyrim. Modded Skyrim was first to raise the bar on skin textures, but it's falling behind on a whole lot of other stuff.
  2. I mostly avoid those brawl challenges (including The Unbroken in Whiterun as well as the Windhelm one you mention) because I think they're flawed. In Fallout 4 if you do a brawl challenge, death is replaced with knockout. In Skyrim, that doesn't seem to be the case. If you do too much damage, or if you swing even one more time after the game thinks you won, then it becomes murder or assault. Furthermore, if I have gloves or enchantment which increases my punching damage, I usually do too much damage and have that same issue. I suppose somebody good at SKSE mods could/should make a mod to overhaul the brawl challenge mechanism to work more like Fallout 4. If I do decide to do a brawl challenge, I swing, wait, swing, wait, etc. watching for the enemy's health to reset and then make sure not to swing after that. However, even that can be bugged, and sometimes it thinks I lost the challenge if I do that. p.s. For the record, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 also has this flaw. In that game it's also possible to do too much damage.
  3. I'm glad you figured out the issue, Soulblade9999. I don't use MO2 so had no clue it has different ini files for each profile. Still, I think the selected skin and/or ENB is contributing to the bad shadows. I don't use ENB, and I use BnP skin, and with vanilla lighting the skin and shadows on my character look very realistic. I took a few examples in different weathers and lighting for reference. I'm not using any facelight, and I included one night time shot as well (with moonlight for the lighting). For the images I'm also not using any image space adapters, and the graphical settings are simply vanilla Ultra.
  4. I'm pretty sure the shadows in question are part of your skin texture you're using. You can try a different skin texture. I use BnP, but there are many options with different aesthetics. p.s. Though I also use darker nights at darkest setting. I think shadows are important, and setting the shadow quality at the highest possible is something I do in every game including Skyrim AE. p.p.s. It also looks like you've got some kind of face light going? Your character is lit up very brightly with harsh light. Oh, you're in race menu. Yeah, you should turn off that light. In keyboard and mouse it's CTRL, though i don't know what the key is for controller.
  5. I agree so much. It's why this play through I'm deliberately not ever mounting a horse. As you said, once I do that a single time I then have battles between bandits and my horse or monsters and my horse every time I fast travel. This said, horse riding in Skyrim kinda sucks anyway. I guess after playing Red Dead Online every day for two years, I can't handle playing horses with bad animations. Here's a sample a filmed from RDO. There's just no comparison, and RDO is a 2018 game, not much newer than Skyrim AE (roughly the same age I think). [Edit: RDO was 2019, and Skyrim AE was 2021]
  6. Post script: Sometimes I build up my pick pocket to 100 so I can steal the armor off people before I attack them (letting me do more damage as an opening attack). It does send me to jail a whole bunch of times building up the skill, and as I have the Prison Alternative mod installed, it also means often the guards kill me instead of releasing me. Though usually they walk me to the noose, and if I try hard after the guards leave I can snap the rope, survive the hanging and sneak back into the jail to get my stuff back from the chest. Stealth/pick pocket can be a fun play style and works well with trying to one shot bandits in lairs without getting all the bandits alerted, for instance. p.s. If I remember correctly, two handed hammer at high skill and perk levels can bypass 75% of armor, but for one-shot attacks I still think two handed axe is best as it gets a damage bonus at high skill and perk levels. Stealing the armor off their head and body before you attack helps even more for the two handed axe. p.p.s. There[s also a mod to let you get sneak attack damage for two handed weapons. I think that's an important mod to have if you play a stealth build. It's not sensible that vanilla game doesn't have that.
  7. I had to look up this quest as it turns out I've never sided with the Dawnguard in all my play throughs so didn't know this existed. Do you have high stealth and weapon skill? I find that if I one-shot kill somebody while in stealth (being unseen) I don't get murder counts. It's only if they survive the first hit or if someone sees you that you get the count. I suppose you could try picking his pocket to get caught, but that might get you 40 bounty for stealing.
  8. *Laughs* That does sound fun, though. Each play through I rack up way over 900 kills by feeding, haha. I play at a ridiculously hard difficulty setting (usually one hit by almost anything kills me), so sneaking up behind people and feeding on them is often more effective than bopping them over the head with an axe (at least until I get blacksmithing to 100 and weapon skill to a decent level). Just an FYI, the Better Vampires mod has an MCM setting to allow you not to take damage from sunlight (it's optional setting). Also the hunter squads who hunt you down every day or so is configurable in MCM. I have it set to squads of four, and they usually have spell cloaks on which kill me almost instantly if I go close enough to hit them with melee. They're incredibly hard. You do have some great ideas I imagine if you do end up some day making a mod like this, having vigilante vampires hunting you down for capturing vampires could be fun as well.
  9. While I nearly always play a vampire and am perpetually being hunted by brutally hard teams of Stendarr's vampire hunters (thanks to Better Vampires mod), your mod idea does sound fun. If you made it, I'd probably start a new character and try playing on the evil (Stendar/Meridia) side of the coin.
  10. Hi, Kolobayka. You need two tools to change the slot used by an outfit or outfit piece. 1. Outfit Studio In BodySlide to the right of the outfit name is a button to open the project in Outfit Studio. Click that, and then click the outfit parts and change the partition to use the slot you want.
  11. As I've never ever used the Never Nude option and know nearly nothing about it, I probably can't directly answer your question. But I may be able to guide you by asking some questions of my own. 1. Isn't the Never Nude build of 3BA only applicable if you're not wearing any clothing? 2. If the answer to #1 is yes, then why not just use lingerie mods which use slot 32 (body), and that'll always switch what you see to be the underwear you're equipping. From my understanding, you don't need to keep changing the nude body to different underwear. You can simply equip other underwear, and as long as it uses slot 32, it will hide the default underwear.
  12. I'm not upset with South at all. As I told him/her several times, we disagree, and I was very fine with that. It wasn't important to me remotely that he change his opinion. That other person was out of line, but I blocked him and already forgot his/her name *Laughs*
  13. You are out of line, and if I could figure out how to block you on these forums I would. He/she makes a point of saying nearly every post that English is not his/her primary language. I'm used to talking to friends from all over the world using Google translate, so to me it's neither an insult nor a big deal to talk with Google Translate. You are nasty. p.s. I myself was born in Argentina and learned English from watching television, though I later learned it in school and more as I got older.
  14. There is no speaking in my films, but that's fine. It's not important to me that you agree with me. To me it's obvious that the synths are synthetic because of their empirical construction process using non-biological materials. You think that something from Fallout 3 impacts the Fallout 4 synths, and you think something spoken suggests they're pure human clones without synthetic material. I believe my eyes. You believe your ears and non-empirical inference. I'm fine with this, and honestly I'm done with debating you because I've already said everything I wish. Also, in case google translate doesn't convert the above to your language: empirical means something you can see with your eyes inference means something you can assume without complete, deductive reasoning (an educated guess)
  15. If you wish I can send you the film links (which are age restricted and require a Flickr login to see) via private message. Unless a moderator explicitly gives me permission to give the links publicly, I won't risk that here even though the links are age restricted. It is absolutely utterly indubitably clear the synths are not cloned and are created with synthetic material as the base. I am frankly utterly baffled you think they're cloned. Saying that Fallout 3 says they're cloned has nothing to do with the synths of Fallout 4. Likewise, there's no way the AI of Fallout 4 said they're cloned. Saying they're people is not the same as saying they're not synthetic. They are synthetic. But I'll happily link the films because, frankly, I'm proud of them.
  16. South8028, I wish I could link my two films here. But I can't, and I notice you don't have access to Supporter section, so we're at an impasse. That's fine. We disagree. I assert, with in-game evidence, that third generation synths are not all biological material. And you assert that they are. We disagree, and that's not the end of the world.
  17. That is a false statement. However, this time you have clearly defined your intent, so I am okay with accepting the intent of your assertion. However, you no longer seem to disagree with my post which you earlier called nonsense as you're just calling what I described with the word cloning instead of blend of synthetic and biological matter (and it's very clear from the in-game machines building the bodies from scratch that they are mostly synthetic material and even metal and plastic). So I really no longer understand what your disagreement is. We both agree the late generation synths are people. We both agree they have biological matter and that they're built by machines and not any form of womb. We both agree that they are super-soldier caliber people. We both agree they have chips in their heads to control them (though I also assert that those chips have their personalities installed as they are created within minutes by the machine so need to have their personalities created somehow--and that's what those chips are). They do not go through the normal learning process. They have their memories and knowledge and beliefs and likes and dislikes installed by chip instead of by learning--with the possible exception of the Shawn child who is the prototype of Father's goal for the next generation of synths--post courser level.
  18. First, you're the one who said I was talking nonsense even though I provided in-game screen shot and a reference to two films I made in-game indicating that the late generation synths are NOT clones. They're literally built by machines. They are not grown from a single cell using RNA and DNA. Perhaps you don't know what cloning means, in which case your misuse of the word is forgiven. Second, I said a self-aware machine is a person. Perhaps you missed that?
  19. Clearly you're playing a different game than me.
  20. There are probably a few different things going on. Not being able to use weapons can be a lot of things including getting in a conversation with an NPC while you're in an Ostim Standalone animation, for instance. That causes all sorts of issues which are often easier to solve by reverting to an older save. T-Posing usually means you need to close the game and process Nemesis or whatever animation engine you use to register all your animations. But it can also be an issue with running out of memory, and when I see signs of that I close the game and restart it. For you, I'd definitely begin with running your FNIS or Nemesis or Pandora or whatever you use for your animations. Also make sure you're only using animations which are compatible with your installed mods. p.s. Another sign you can be running low on system resources is if people start floating like ragdolls in the air even though they're alive. That eventually leads to invisible floors or whatnot. If I see somebody floating in the air, I shut down the game and restart it.
  21. The latest generation synths in Fallout 4 are more like Robert Heinlein's "Friday" or Joel Shepherd's "Cassandra Kresnov" series. They're definitely robots, but borderline cyborgs and definitely super soldier level anatomy. I agree there is biological material used in the Fallout 4 late generation synths, but they're needle-and-vat injected biology. Here's a screen shot from my November 10, 2020 film titled "Human" in the Nexus Mods Supporter section Image Share (which I can't link here). But I took a snapshot from the film to show what I mean about how those synths are made (and they later get fed to a vat before they comee out looking fully human). I also have a March 11, 2022 film titled "Now - A Film" in the Nexus Mods Supporter image share, and it also has in-game footage of how those synths are made. Either way, I am of the school which believes it's not the biology but the intellect which makes someone a person. A human whose brain dies is no longer a person even if their biology is alive, and a machine who is self aware and intelligent is a person. There's a novel called "Machine Man' by Max Barry. I listened to the audio book a few years ago and found it delightful. It's about an engineer who decides it would be more efficient if he replaced his own body with a machine. The engineer is not wrong, some day.
  22. Infinite load screens aren't always caused by load order conflicts. For instance, if you have the Prison Alternative mod (with several related side mods), you can have an infinite load screen in some situations unless you register all the side mods in MCM. So the mods are all there and installed, but you need to use MCM to register them with Prison Alternative mod. This said, these forums do have a few people who have a high batting average for spotting issues in load orders. (I'm not one of those.) Just remember to put the load order in a spoiler tag (or text document link) and not as one gigantic post
  23. I find the same issue to be the case in my game. For instance, if I attack with a two hander, I cannot attack again until the animation completely finishes and my character goes back to full pause. Likewise with dual wield, I cannot attack a second time until the first animation completely finishes. In addition, the delay from starting a two handed attack is long compared to one-handed or dual wield. So I absolutely cannot fight a dragon from stealth with a two hander because I never would get an attack off before it flies away. So with dragons I only use dual wield because those attacks both hit hard and allow an almost instant attack. It is my humble opinion that the animations themselves are the problem. They cannot be interrupted, and the two handed attack (at least from stealth) has no fast attack. This said, in open combat against monsters, I find the two handed hammer to be absolutely impossible to use because by the time it starts its swing the enemy has moved away, always. However, the two handed sword and two handed battle axe have sideways fast attacks which work. So there are only four types of melee weapons I can use in Skyrim SE, and they're situational: a) one handed plus spell. Mediocre in all cases, but usable in a pinch in most situations b) dual attack from stealth. I'm rooted, but it does a lot of damage and usually staggers the target enough I can attack a second time a few seconds later. c) non-stealth sideways moving battle axe or great sword, dodging while quick attacking. No other melee combinations work for me in this game.
  24. *Laughs* If that makes you an idiot then it makes me one as well, haha. I accidentally leave my weapons out all the time haha. I'm glad that's all it was!
  25. Post script: Is it possible you accidentally have your weapons out, apr006? Sometimes I forget and have them out, and I can't feed with weapons out.
