  1. Ah, it's not just me then - phew!
  2. if you can select them with the console, the first two letters/numbers of the ID will tell you which module in your load order they are from. ex if the first numbers are A0 then it's module A0 in the load order list in Wrye bash
  3. Use Elys universal silent voice addon to give longer for the dialogue options
  4. For the rich, a gel wrist rest does the same job more hygienically - but the socks are a good tip
  5. A few hints (very general) Run BOSS, and read the comments it puts next to the files after sorting. Delete the ones that it tells you should not be run together - that'll be a good start. Don't install several different versions of the same mod - you have a V3 and a V4 male replacer from Beautiful People listed - probably one of those is wrong (unless the readme says otherwise). Read the readme files - work out what you need to have installed and what contradicts with other parts of the same module. Check how your bashed patch is set up - don't just blindly tick everything but read and think about what you are doing. And never, EVER, add "a heap of mods" as it makes debugging a problem nigh on impossible. One at a time, and test before adding another. That way you ALWAYS know that it's a problem with either the latest mod, or something the latest mod is incompatible with - makes debugging easier.
  6. Try spelling it correctly, and looking on the UESP Wiki page
  7. That just adds an air of realism - murder these days is a cheap crime. We have a double murderer in for "life" locally who is due to be released after only 7 years. You get longer than that for financial crimes :(.
  8. Ok - in simple terms a scripted OMOD lets you select options during install in a way that a BAIN installer doesn't. It then installs the resulting selection over the top of your current installation. If, however, a,"virtuall obmm" could be made, the output from the OBMM could then be installed using BAIN with all the benefits that would bring, such as uninstalling and restoring previous file versions. It hasn't happened yet though :(
  9. There's another more recent "Prison Mod" thread which was started without realising this one existed - this seems to be by far the more developed setup. Maybe different entry levels into the "system" depending on crime committed - petty crime and it's a couple of days, mass murder and it's Death Row...
  10. Most body replacers have a matching stock clothing and armor replacer set you can find too - that can solve a few problems
  11. Petrification is only useful up to a certain point - after that the stone breaks. How are you intending that to work, or are you going for full invulnerability?
  12. You'd probably be looking at a bit of script work for that, and a time-based texture for the skin done in a similar way to the illuminated window scripts. You'd also need to define just how vulnerable or invulnerable such a race would be when in stone form, and also whether it's time or sunlight related (do they remain in normal form if indoors or underground, etc?) I'm assuming the aim here is to end up with a Tolkienesque Troll type race, where sunlight causes a total freeze, but onw where darkness will restore mobility (unlike Tolkien's "Daylight take you!" approach). You might want to have a look at the MERP (Middle-Earth Role Playing) forums to see whether a troll race has already been done there
  13. We currently have a project working towards something like you are after - browse this section for the "proper argonian and khajiit" topic
  14. I'm sure I've seen a mod someplace for replacing the current craze for oddly overlong elven ears with shorter, more "Vulcan" ears - but can't seem to hit the right set of keywords to narrow the search down. (Why DO all these races have ears as wide as their shoulders anyway? Or am I just showing my lack of appreciation for some specific artist's style?)
  15. Check the Tabaxi one - again it may be specific for a different body replacer. Texture and replacer HAVE to match or you get the most peculiar deformities :)
  16. Things to look for on a PC for Oblivion 1) Decent graphics card. 2) Separate sound card. 3) Good clock speed - it doesn't use multiple cores well so a fast single core will bead a slower dual core unit. Win XP with 2GB RAM or Win7 32 with 2/3GB RAM. 64 bit you start having to tinker and play to get things going well. If you want to add eye candy mods such as improved textures, more complex landscapes, then push all the money at the video card. You WILL reach a slideshow point if you push the eye candy TOO far - the combination of things like QTP3 / Unique Landscapes / Better Cities and AEVWD will cripple ANY framerate.
  17. Sounds like you have a texture replacer for Roberts body, and trying to use it with HGEC body replacer
  18. There appears to be a "them and us" situation developing with OMOD and BAIN installers - and until the BAIN system can handle an OMOD input file it's going to remain a major problem. What is needed is a "virtual OBMM" as part of the BAIN installer, which will run the OMOD scripts, build a matching BAIN installer, then use that. Thus you'd get the benefits of both systems with the added compatibility with existing setups.
  19. I'm not so sure on those bulky boot-upper sections, which look so detached from the lower sections. I've still got no net access at home, so find it hard to have any meaningful input but I'll have a look when I can for some alternative concepts. The actual feet look great now, but the leg bone proportions above may mean we want to move the knees up a bit, and that'll mean a tweaked skeleton - not too hard as far as I understand but the modification installer would need to handle that. Obviously some work will be needed on animation to check that the walk looks ok, and to tweak tail motion, etc. I suggest starting talking with drake now about his stuff, as he's taken the approach he did for assorted reasons - maybe that'll stop us heading down a blind alley someplace.
  20. Bear in mind the limitations of the Oblivion engine - it can't handle mobs well (if at all) so you won't get swarming armies - you'll get a maximum of 10-15 characters moving at any one time before the engine limitations start to kick in. If done for the Oblivion engine, Thermopylae would have been "the 30" not "the 300".
  21. Remember that to make prison "work" there needs to be a properly thought out set of laws and a judiciary system. A simple expansion to the prison brings SO much with it. Try a look online for tony robinson's crime and punishment series for a very quick overview of how laws have evolved and changed to decide what level YOU feel is right for the mod you want
  22. So you're after a fully timetabled prison day - wake up / slopping out / mealtimes / exercise / forced labour / solitary confinement / hand removal for thievery / whatever? You DO realise that actually being put IN prison was unusually lenient and the modern social reforms are unlikely in context with the background? Maybe come up with properly thought-out routineed and someone may get more interested
  23. Thus displaying that you haven't understood what FCOM is - it's effectuvely a massive compatibility patch to get four or nore massive mods to play nicely together. If you want an all in one FCOM download Google for the FCOM superpack and use that, following ALL of the instructions to the letter, THEN put other mods back on and see which one starts it crashing.
