  1. I saw a mod in Nexus a few weeks ago. And what it did is removed the small rocks from the original game. There was something like 20000 small rocks that did nothing except cluter up the world. That mod and with the removal of ash pile and goo pile mod may help. But the thing is, we should not have to remove anything in the orginal game just to play Fallout 3. I think Bethesda figures. "Yeah fallout 3 is a steaming pile of a buggy mess that crashes all the time, let the modders fix the game we are done with it."
  2. I know awhile ago, we are talking years. That modders had us go in our Fallout file to change Archiveinvalidation, and some other line changed/added manualy. So if we have Archiveinvaladation, and some other thing changed/added manualy in the original files, then we also have it switched on in the NMM, then it could be the cause of messed up meshes, etc. But it has been quit a long time for that info to be last posted in these forums. Now I am not saying this is what your problem is. This is just the process of elimination, which may or may not fix your mesh's. Uninstalling and reinstalling Fallout 3, may put the change back in the original version. I do not know for sure. Might have to bring Fallout 3 to its fresh out of the box version first, then patch the game with each patch, and hope this puts the game at a state where it does not crash often and no meshes, etc are messed up. But I am not sure this is possible with such a stubborn game. After you know for sure Fallout 3 is fixed then you can start adding in mods. If I do dig something up I will stick in here. My Fallout 3 is so far gone right now it is just ridiculous, so most likely i will never get it working, since I tried EVERYTHING and I still crash. You mention you use NMM. Heres the thing with NMM. It saves all your mods in a data bank. So if I uninstall my Fallout 3, and reinistall it. All I have to do is just recheck the boxes of my mods to run them mods again with a fresh install. Which could be bitter sweet. You might have to totally uninstall each mod before you reinstall Fallout 3. If you do this right and you have the DLC's. Upon opening NMM. You should only see the .exe files and the DLC's .exe files inside(DLC's are the expansions. IE. Brokensteel, Mothership Zeta, Point Lockout, and the Pitt) If you do not have the expansions then the only file you should see is the Fallout.exe file. So if what I tried with my game helps someone else with their game. Then that is fine by me. I ran out of ideas for my game.
  3. Thanks for the reply, but this information does not help me. Do I make 10000 new threads of the same problem or keep it to 1 thread? The Search works, but the info in these searches, have no reply's in over a year. So posting on any of the old threads. Most likely I will not get a responce. But thanks anyways for the reply.
  4. Well my game loads up, with Archive Invalidation off or on, and I can continue from my last save, and play the game, until I get to a certain door in the metro system, and when I enter this one door it always C'sTD, with Archive Invalidation off or on. What I don't get is how can my game even run with mods, and Archive Invalidation is off? With the feature being off, I think I should crash instantly, but I only crash when I try to go through a certain door. I had not left the metro station, to test if other places I will CTD. I just know no matter what I try I will crash entering this one load door.
  5. Intresting concept. My game did startup when I turned off my Archive Invalidation in the NMM. So I have an XML problem? Can you define exactly what you mean by your post, Uninstall my user interface, and changeing mods? I thought XML's where something to do with text and the only thing that comes to mind are mod read me's, and Launch.exe's. Also my mods still show they are working ingame with the Archive Invaladation off. IF the game runs more and crashes less with Archive Invaladation off and the mods still work, what will happen longterm? Do you mean deatctivate all my mods in the NMM, go into the DATA folder and delete every mod then reactivate the mods I have for them to reinstall? If so I am not sure what info in my Data Folder is for the vanilla game and what info is from mods. IE Texture folders, meshes etc. a lot of mod info shown is just self explanatory. You can see the name of the mod in the DATA folder that you are using. The texture, and meshes for the mods are hard to judge, whats what, since the textures and meshes use the vanilla folders. So more info would be helpful.. Please and Thank you.
  6. I am no expert at crash fixes, and Fallout 3 still crashes constantly now, More now then in the pass. I tried every single work around out there, and Fallout 3 is just stuborn like that. But I just have a few ideas you can try.(this is for the PC version of course) Disclaimer: These are just ideas not work arounds. My game still crashes here and there, and asking Bethesda will never help. They will just tell you the game is not compatible to, etc, etc. So you are on your own. 1) Download the Fo3edit tool, and use it. Whenever you get rid of or install a new or old mod this tool will help your load orders, and it will also let you make a Merge Patch.(also make new merge patches when you install and delete mods) Merge Patch-Is a tool you can create in the Fo3edit tool to help blend mods togeather that may conflict with other mods. Make a new merge patch when you install or delete mods. 1 merge patch is good enough, so if you install or delete mods be sure to also delete the old merge patch first before you run the Fo3edit tool again. To make a merge patch in the Fo3edit tool is pretty simple: once you load up the tool after it is installed it will give you two rows. One row(left) is the name of your mods that are installed in your game. The other row(right) is the plugin list that your mods need for your mods to run. To make the merge patch right click on ANY mod in the list of your mods that are displayed in the left row inside the Fo3edit tool. Click other in the drop down menu, then click Create Merge Patch. A seperate window pops up, and give it a name you want. I always name mine. Merge patch. What the Fo3edit tool then does it automaticly adds the merge patch in your list of mods, and plugin list. Close the Fo3edit tool and click save merge patch ok. When you reopen the Fo3edit tool you will see your merge patch in the list of your mods and plugins. Also be sure your merge patch IS AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH LIST. IE. The mod list and plug in list in both the Fo3edit tool and listed at the bottom of mods and plugins inside the NMM/FOMM list. To remove your merge patch-This is based on the non steam version of Fallout 3. C:/Program Files (x86)/Betheseda Softworks/Fallout 3/Data. Program Files (x86) is for the Windows 7 64 bit users. And you have to click the Data folder to open it, then scroll down until you find the name of your merge patch, then just delete that folder. When you install and delete new and old mods besure to make a new merge patch when you do and do the things above again. 2)Get FOSE installed and working-FOSE is an acryonym for FallOut Script Extender. Most mods need a script extender for the mods to work in game. GECK I think does the same thing but I never once tried the GECK so I dunno. If you download and use FOSE, be sure to launch Fallout 3 through the FOSE.exe and NOT the Fallout.exe. This can be adjusted inside the NMM. Once you install FOSE open up the NMM and in the icons at the top on the left side, first option shows launch game with a little arrow pointing down. Click the little down arrow and pick the Launch FOSE option. So now everytime you want to play Fallout 3. Be sure to open the NMM and click on the Launch with FOSE. Your game will now start up. I recommend the NMM-Nexus Mod Manager. You can use the FOMM-FallOut Mod Manager aswell. But to me I feel the FOMM is old school and most mods now are based on the NMM. But it doesn't really matter either or. 3)Disable the save on rest, save on map travel, auto saves, and Quick saves. For some reason Fallout 3 bugs out when people add and remove mods, and use recent saves before/after the mod was installed. Each save game should be in its own slot. Yes it is a major annoyance that this happens in this stubborn game. 4)Also another thing you can do if you crash is make a new save before the game crashes, then load that new save again. Basicly it goes like this: Start game/Continue/game starts up/make a save point/ quit game/load that save point. 5)You also can go in an indoor cell-Meaning a place inside, like a building, Megaton House, etc. Wait for 3 days and leave the inside of the area to help remove corrupted recent saves before the crash. So good luck and hope some of these things work for people. Again these are not fixes, just ideas that some may had not tried yet. Here are the tools described as above: FOSE - http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8606 Fo3edit tool - http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/637 NMM - http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/news/952/ FOMM - http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/640
  7. Right now I only have a few armor mods, reskin of Rileys Rangers. and GNR enhanced radio. Well do to me trying to pinpoint which mod is causeing the problem. I had a lot more. But the thing is, I installed the Fo3edit tool to prevent me from haveing to go through each mod and trying to figure out which mod is causeing the CTD. Before I even started going through mod by mod, my Fo3edit tool showed no errors in the discription list, meaning It was telling me there are no conflicts so all the mods should had worked in unisin. A merge patch that I created in this tool, ALSO was not showing a header to a master file. Meaning I did not even need a merge patch in the first place. I run the game through the NMM and launch it with the FOSE.exe, since the Fallout.exe launch will instantly CTD. The NMM has a tool to check your plugin load orders. And my load orders where set using this feature. How I launch: Click Fallout 3 Nexus shortcut from desktop. This brings me inside the NMM and my mods and plugin lists. Make sure I scroll down to the launch feature in the top left to bring up the FOSE.exe(usually only have to set this once) Click on the tool Icon to make sure my ArchiveInvaladation is checked(usually only have to do this once) Then I click on the Launch game with FOSE.exe which is also in my NMM. The game loads up fine Click Continue My character loads up fine Walks about 30 feet CTD So it MIGHT either be a buggy save or a HUD problem. I can go back to an earlier save, but if it is a HUD problem(although the F03edit tool does not pick it up) I was hopeing there was a program that fixes the HUD problem, before I go back to an earlier save first. I mention HUD only do to me thinking Gopher mentioned something in one of his videos about if you still crash when you use the Fo3edit tool then something else is causeing the crash an not the mods, but: 1)I have no idea which video of his mentions this. He made several videos on how to load mods for: Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas/Skyrim. 2)I vagly remember there might be two causes of this CTD. A HUD problem and/or something else. But I do not know the name of such file programs that may fix the problem. Or where to find them. Like I said I did a search on these forums, and on the Nexus site and nothing shows up that tells me: "If you still crash useing the Fo3edit tool, then download this tool to fix the CTD."
  8. Not sure why I am crashing to desktop after game runs for a few minutes? I use NMM for mods(Mods that are taged to be able to use the NMM. Meaning if I see a mod that has a DOWNLOAD WITH MANAGER tab I dl them that way) I can manualy install aswell, but that gets complicated if I have a huge ammount of mods to load after awhile for me. To avoid the headache I just install mods that show the:"DOWNLOAD WITH MANAGER" tab. The problem I am having is after I ran the Fo3edit tool. I see no errors on the information list AT ALL. I made a patch merge file just incase I might had miss something. So thats in, and there is nothing showing in that file header under the Patch Merge file. So I think I am good. However when I load the game and continue from a recent save I can move around like normal for a couple of minutes before I CTD? I am not sure how to fix a problem when the Fo3edit tool does not show a problem. For the record I launch from the Foose.exe and not the Fallout.exe. I launch from foose do to the fact I have a mod that needs foose for it to work. If I even try to launch from the Fallout.exe. I will get an instant crash. IE Foose atleast gets me in game. I read somewheres that if you use the Fo3edit tool and still crash, I may need something else. Some other tool. But I can not even begin to know where to look as of now for such a tool. I searched these forums. Nothing. I searched Nexus site. Nothing. So I am out of options of what to do to stop these Crashes To Desktop. I launch the game through NMM and the Foose.exe, which is up to date. All hardware has been updated I downloaded the recent Fallout 3 patch before I installed any mods. ArchiveInvaladation is checked for the NMM. The NMM has this built in so I can toggle this off and on in a jiffy. As far as I know, my load order is right. In the NMM when you highlight a plugin, a little menu pops up on the side of the plugin to tell you what needs to go first, before your mod plugin. The Fo3edit tool will also pick this up, if load order is wrong. So if nothing is showing being broke, how do I fix it? I uninstalled Fallout 3 and DLC's, and installed several times. I uninstalled all my mods and installed a few times. Thanks for reading, and hope this can be fixed.
  9. Same problem as OP. I can not login on Fallout3 Nexus, and Skyrim Nexus, aswell as New Vegas Nexus. The page gets refreshed for me too, and my user name and password text boxes goes blank, making it look like I have retype my info, again and again. But I can log in the forums, no problem.
  10. Arrows are not bullets, If you are out of render range then the arrow will never reach their targets. I many times see things off in the distance and tried to sniper them with arrows but my arrows are not penetrating, they seem to disappear. do to being out of Render Range. If I move cloer to targets I will get a hit, but the stopping power is decreased dramaticly the further out you are, but it still does a little damage. I usually do not use arrows as my main weapon, I am into melee, I like to get up close and personal, I use my bow, MOSTLY for triggering traps. Like shooting, the small hanging flameing pots down, or dropping the soul gem traps, you know the ones the spu fire or ice on you at a constant, you can disarm them with your bow, and a well placed shot, Tripwires, door wires, chest wires, can ALL be disarmed with a well placed shot useing a bow. I use magic ONLY to try and lure Dragons on the ground. Arrows do not cut it. It is faster to lure a Dragon down with sometype of projectile magic.
  11. I get it on all my male characters aswell. The only way I fixed it was, edit them in showracemenu. as soon as you go in edit mode the eyes are fixed. Then just enter out of it. Yes this is teadious to do all the time. So I hope it gets fixed. I never noticed if the eyes fix automaticly, because as soon as I spot the bug, I fix it straight away.
  12. Unequiping, and re-equiping the piece of gear that shows where the projectile is stuck works aswell. I had the more blood textures mod running, and the whole front of my gear was coated in blood, and it did not disappear until I unequiped then re-equiped my gear. Then it was gone straight away.
  13. NVM it seems to be sorted out now, must had been something screwy with it. I did nothing at all to it and I am not getting the bug anymore. Feel free to lock thread
  14. Like I said it is not to accurate with the help function. I happened to stumble across his ID it is: 00097E1F you can try in console: ~prid 00097E1F move to player If this did not work then Frost probaly ran off to attack everything around him, Since he is so aggressive, and got himsef killed. You think the quest should fail, but do to SOOOOO many quest bugs Bethesda has not fixed yet. My's well chalk it up with ALL the other buggy quests that do not let you finish, and just clutter up your log. I think it goes like this: ~ prid 00097E1F (enter) move to player (enter)
  15. This was posted before, and I understand you do not want to use the search button. I had AP mod installed by JoshNZ, and it caused the same problem on my new character, until I deactivated it, before I started a new character, and I got through the Helgen scene smoothly. Although the AP mod was a nice mod. it is plagued with all kinds of bugs, that effect the game. So best ster clear from this mod in the first place.
  16. There is a chain of events that give the right to marry. First off you have to do tasks for said NPC's then once you are done with their tasks, it makes them a possible partner. You have to talk to Maramal about Mara's beliefs, then he will give a dialouge about weddings. You ask how to do this, he then asks about buying an amulet of Mara from him for 200. a lot of people use console commands or other sources to get the Amulet of Mara, and they ask why their amulet does not work. You can sometimes come across amulets of Mara in your travels ( which is pretty rare if you did not go through the Dialouge from Maramal first. They will be found everywheres after you go through the dialouge) aswell, but you still have to go through the chain of events in order to get the amulet to work. Also be warned Aeran will still follow Mjol around like a Buck in heat, no matter what house you stick Mjol in, Aeran will be there, and still say dialouge like he and Mjol are still in Riften. Did you do every task in order to get the wedding to happen? TL;DR; you can try: ~ click on Mjol then type: adfac 19809 1
  17. Wait...are you trying to remove other NPC's clothes or your own? You can open console, click on target NPC, type ~unequipall or ~removeallitems (not sure which is the one that works) then enter, close console. All items should be removed from that one NPC you clicked on. To remove your own just unequip the items.
  18. The Error code 51 is something to do with Steam. I seen reports of this Error Code 51 with other games in Steam. IE Fallouts, Battlefields, to name a few. Basicly several games that use Steam been getting this report. So my guess is steam...Sheesh whatever happened to them days playing games with out some secondary launcher program? Old Battlifields used EA launcher, then went to Steam, now are in Origin.
  19. Best way to check if your computer can run Skyrim is this: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ It even tells you what settings, and if something is outdated it will also tell you what is, and give recomendations as to what to get. Also if you want to deal with miles of wiring, you can grab a Higher Watt powersupply. I had a 500watt then swapped it out to a 800watt. When I did a test on BF3 I barely made medium settings running 500watts, when I went to a bigger watt powersuply, with same specs, I was able to reach the high settings threshold in BF3.
  20. Just recently when I goto Launch SKSE in the NMM, I been all of a suden getting a "Failed BOSS update. Failed to load masterslist." Not sure what this is, and it just poped up today, but worked fine last night. I am on the latest SKSE, NMM, and game patch. But am not sure why this just started to happen out of the blue?
  21. Hmm I have the opposite effect in NMM. Some files show that I need an update, when I know I have the updates. All versions match, within the NMM, and the file is corrisponding to the proper file update in Nexus.
  22. Same here. Was at 40ish 50ish fps, even with several mods installed, then recently started to discover this problem. I had no new mods installed since, so not sure why this is starting to happen now.
  23. I am not sure, but I do recall seeing this problem pop up in the pass, and I think it was reported as a SkyUI or SKSE update or both.
  24. If you bought it from him in the Bee and Barb it might had bugged it out. Best thing to do is grab him in the Mara temple, and mention to him that you want to learn more of Mara Beliefs. I am pretty sure it is the first line in the conversation, under that is the donation line. Once you talk to him, the dialouge should mention something about weddings, you reply. By asking you can get married. he says something in the lines of do you know how marriage works in Skyrim, he will then explain how, then his dialouge has a new line to be able to purchase an amulet of Mara for 200. Then the amulet should work. But make sure you done, said quests first from the partner you wish to marry. Example Mjol the lioness ask to retreive her blade for her, and Belimund needs fire salts for his forge. Little quest like these need to get finished first. If want these partners to be able to marry you. So you want Mjol as a wife, do her quest You want Belimund as a husband, do his quest etc It does not work for every NPC. Like ingun for example. She wants you to retreive her alchemy ingredients, but she will not marry you after.
  25. I might be your Skyrim NPC Editor. I have the same problems with dark heads, and I noticed it when I installed my Skyrim NPC Editor. skyrim npc editor? What do you mean? I'm not sure what that is. Also another issue that bugs the hell out of me is that one of my mods removes the foot step sound when I run (not sprint, regular run). So It sounds..............akward...lol Hmm... then I am not sure. I thought everybody by now had the Skyrim NPC Editor. Basicly it is a program that allows you to customize NPC's. I used it to make some NPC's placed in the Marriage Faction. I also used it to change the way NPC's look. IE better hair styles, make females younger looking like Maven for Example, and also changed the armors that the NPC might use as a default set. Example: Lisette I gave her Orcish armor insted of her default.
