  1. Got cheezed with that door or safe you can't open because you missed a step in the quest or killed the wrong guy, then how about just doing what any sane post nuke citizen carrying a minigun, rocket launcher or 30 satchels of C4 would do, take your frustrations out on the offending door :) Or perhaps there could be a "Mr Keys" quest in NV somewhere who has the whole set on him.

  3. I have an outfit I am modding for personal use when I strip off the boots & belt they work fine as seperate items but the top seems to make my skin invisible when I seperate it from the skin. Thee must be a simple seting somewhere I assume to turn this off so I can use this top with a normal type 3 skin replacer?

  5. I tried this with armor too, but found adjusting DT adjusted the characters total DT not that of the armor so when the damaged armor was unequipped I actually had a negative DT.
  6. I'm missing something somewhere in GECK, everytime I click the option to creat a new faction it just edits an existing faction, HHHHHeeeeellllp............................

I have someones clothing outfit that includes a skin and I can strip the boots belt etc into individual items ok but when I strip the top off I end up with an invisible body, any idea what bits in Nifskope to tweak to turn the top into a seperate item that uses the normal skin I have equipped? This is for personal use only, and if I can get the outfit they way I want it, I would check with the creators before uploading it anywhere. It's ok, I'm not going to sell it on EBay :) Is this post actually visible, it seems I'm getting no views on any new post I create, though people are replying to my replies to others ok?
  8. Bad Luck, maybe they are one mesh and ou need Blender or similar, probably easier creating a new one that looks like what you want, I'm mucking around with the SuperGirl mod and Boots, Skirt, Belt etc are splitable, though I have to leave the skin in to or end up as invisible.
  9. I have blender, and no I have not used 3d software before... I am an idiot as I mentioned before. Also being a fellow new idiot at this, I just installed NifSkope (it's free, just Google it) and is seems to be a lot simpler than Blender allowing you to split stuff, but not actually make or edit stuff, am about to try my changes inworld now. I also have nifskope, have you figured out how to split stuff apart yet? Yep Click the item you want then right click it, then BLOCK > REMOVE seems to work then save as RaiderSkirt then in GECK you need o cread a new armor piece go into biped model and change it first then OK that box then go back in and link it to the correct original textures.

I'm trying to make a forcefield that varies in strength depednding on how much health it has, using the health like a battery level as well, but when I mod DT it changes the overall DT so I actually managed to get a negative DT after taking the armor off. I'm also not sure the head is being protected is there seperate DT for locations? I'm having trouble finding info about this in GECK help, I thought there was a page on it somewhere but haven't been able to find it again
  12. On a tangent to my previous suggestion would it be possible for players to lose the ability to fight, move then do anything as their health/fatigue dropped under say 15%, that feeling of helplessness watching your companions continue fighting to save you.......................

  14. Would it be possible to have some enemies beat the player and companions into unconsciousness instead of killing them and steal all your stuff or even slap a slave collar on the player who has to then find a way to remove it?
  15. I'm no expert myself, other than writing scripts, I have seen a Summon Creatures tag somewhere in effects and wondered how it worked or if it work added to armor. You may have to createz New Ants that are in the Player Faction too or they might just attack you too. Worth a go anyway, let us know the results :)
  16. Yeah, I tried the IsSwimming, apparently it works only for NPC's in NV the wiki suggests using the Z co-ordinate to activate but I know there is at least one lake using placeable water that that wouldn't work in.
  17. I want to mod some Power Armor to "short out", cause Player Shock Damage and Damage itself when the player is Swimming. I've looked at IsSwimming and that's a no go for Player use, using Z reference would work for Main Water bodies but I can't workout how to detect Placeable Water, should I sense off the animation perhaps somehow, though there's probably a few different swimming animations to list I guess. And IsDangerousWater, what does it detect? Those Toxic puddles? Any Idea on What the variable is for Armor Health?

  20. Not Really a Request but more a request for help learning to Mod. I'm trying to work out a way to make the Tron Glow textures for Mantis suit change depending on player hitpoints or suit damage, whatever I got the hang of that bit of object effects so far I think. It seems the only way I found so far is to replace the model which means I think I need to create a new model for each color, do they need to be in the players inventory to work as well or just in the data folder? I looked at the "add destructive data" as an option as well but I suspect this would replace the damaged armor suit with an undamaged one? To create a new base effect would then alter the nif file with Visual effects would be another way, but again would this replace the armor completely with new armor?
  21. Ok so here is the basic look, im leaving a lot of space So that many mods can fit in the building. Now its not quite done yet. But I was even thinking of making a Store Clerk just for ambiance. Now if there comes a point at which there need to be more room, all i would need to do is a simple update. What do you think? http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn4/Larnada/ScreenShot16.jpg Cool stuff mate, I know it's a reasonably simple jub, it's just my skills in mesh are near non existant, need to seriously get into them, I've been building with prims in SL but this stuff is a whole new level for me, I also thought of another name, perhaps MohaveMart? In the end first in best dressed I imagine, it will be cool to find all the future stuff in one place, I've been a mod hog, I don't know where half of them are inworld yet but they're there somewhere :)

I guess you could even make the mod shareware, the pixels are free, if done right it would be pretty popular anyway, I doubt it would clash with too many other mods, so other modders using it included it with their packs or had a seperate Non-VegasMart download. If the Vegas marts were identical and their rotations & co-ordinates were all noted then it would be easier for modders to put their stuff in the same place on the same shelf in each store. It's also possible the concept could be expanded to mini-malls with seperate clothing, guns, food, hair dressers, repair & tech shops and a couple of spares for good measure.
  23. As modding newb, one thing I've noticed is there's a lot of cool mods out there in clothes, armor, weapons etc., one I found was the expanded gunnrunners mod which is a cool idea. What if someone were to create a small department store chain like VegasMart and put one in most of the major towns for other modders to have a common place to leave mod boxes, it could have store isles for different items like food, weapons, hats, etc. I guess the biggest problem may be 2 modders leaving a box in the same place on the same shelf.
