  1. I gotta stop checking the Nexus. I'm almost up to 200 active mods, half HD mods and Project ENB running and even though it doesn't seem to give my comp trouble I'm just asking for mod conflicts. I try to check the nexus everyday (like an addiction) and can't help but download another mod or two everytime. I've delved into modding a little with the CK and created a few mods which are just homes/display areas. I've even started to get into taking screenshots since I've updated my rig to handle all the latest, and tend to spend more time in game taking screenshots than doing the danged quests. Because of this addiction I've purchased a lifetime membership on the Nexus and have even donated to a few of the MOD authors here that obviously should be getting paid for all the time and effort they're putting into modding for free. I think I need to start a support group for others like me....and I know your out there! In reality I just wanted to post on here about how appreciative I am for everything everyone does on here. The Nexus and obviously Skyrim is pretty much the only reason I game anymore and I will continue doing so as long as this community stays as it is. I also want to thank the Nexus team here for the hard work they've put into the nexus sites, forums and NMM (which makes handling hundreds of mods do-able!). BTW I'm also guilty of spending more time here than I am actually playing the DANG GAME! Mac
  2. I just got a gtx 680 4gb. installed every HD mod I could find, lighting, ENB, etc...No studdering, runs smooth as silk. Was even surprised to start a new game with racemenu, multiple hair mods, warpaint, race, eye, etc... installed and was able to create a character without the game crashing (used to always have to go to a small cell and uninstall mods to go to showracemenu). Now granted I also have a lot of other high end hardware to help, but so far I'm happy with the card.
  3. I've sucked it up and will be purchasing a beast of a PC (I hope!) in the next week or so. My current PC is decent but if I start installing HD mods my Skyrim screeches to a halt, and I haven't thought about using ENB's because of this. So I really don't know much about them other than they seem make make Skyrim all that more vibrant. So question is Where do I start? What ENB should I install since there seem to be SO many to choose from? HD mods, any thoughts? While I'm posting here one more question. Windows 7 64 bit home premium, pro or ultimate? I've been reading around and for a gaming computer the opinion seems to be go with windows premium. Is there any real reason for gaming purposes to get Pro or Ultimate?
  4. from playing with multiple companies its looking like Magic Micro is going to be the best deal plus every question I've thrown at them I've gotten quick responses and they seem to pretty danged honest. Look at the new setup i posted and not the first one.
  5. See the attached. Looks good to me and for what I believe is a decent price of $2255.00.
  6. I've been messing around with multiple websites building an affordable comp and would like an honest opinion of what I have here. What should I change. Am I overdoing or underdoing anything here? Will all of these play nice? This is probably my max budget, but would love to spend less if possible. I'm only posting this here because I've come to trust you guys....it's almost as if the Nexus is my second family....(don't tell my wife and kids that;P) •*BASE_PRICE: [+1799] •BLUETOOTH: None •CAS: Azza Fusion 3000 Full-Tower Gaming Case w/ 1x 140mm & 2x 120mm fans, front USB 3.0, HDD Easy Swap, & 360MM liquid cooling ready [-57] •CASUPGRADE: None •CD: LG 12X Internal Blu-ray Drive & DVDRW, 3D Playback Combo Drive (BLACK COLOR) •CD2: None •COOLANT: Standard Coolant •CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011 (All Venom OC Certified) •CS_FAN: Default case fans •FA_HDD: Vigor iSURF II Hard Disk Drive Cooling System [+21] (1 x System) •FAN: CyberPowerPC Xtreme Hydro II Liquid Cooling Kit 240MM w/ XSPC RayStorm CPU Block,Dual D5 Pump & Reservoir,AX240 Radiator w/ Dual Fan(CPU & GPU Liquid Cooling, Extreme Overclocking Performance + Extreme Silence at 18dBA)(All Venom OC Certified) •FLASHMEDIA: INTERNAL 12in1 Flash Media Reader/Writer [+10] (BLACK COLOR) •FREEBIE_CU1: $50 Visa Gift Card - Free Gift card on all Intel® Core™ i7 and i5 Desktops or notebooks [+0] •FREEBIE_MB: None •FREEBIE_VC: None •FREEBIE_VC2: None •GLASSES: None •HDD: 240GB Corsair Force GT Series SATA-III 6.0Gb/s SSD - 555MB/s Read & 525MB/s Write [+162] (Single Drive) •HDD2: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 7200 RPM HDD [+94] (Single Drive) •IEEE_CARD: None •IUSB: Built-in USB 2.0 Ports •KEYBOARD: AZZA Multimedia USB Gaming Keyboard •MEMORY: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1866MHz Quad Channel Memory [+0] (Corsair XMS DDR3 1866 MHz Memory [Free upgrade from 1600MHz Major Brand]) •MONITOR: None •MONITOR2: None •MONITOR3: None •MOTHERBOARD: (3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support) ASUS P9X79 LE Intel X79 Chipset Quad Channel DDR3 ATX w/ Remote GO!, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 3 Gen3 PCIe X16, 2 PCIe X1 & 1 PCI •MOUSE: AZZA Optical 1600dpi Gaming Mouse with Weight Adjustable Cartridge •NETWORK: Intel Pro Gigabit 10/100/1000 Network Card [+34] •OS: Microsoft® Windows 7 Professional [+31] (64-bit Edition) •OVERCLOCK: Extreme OC (Extreme Overclock 20% or more) •POWERSUPPLY: 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready •RESERVOIR: None •RUSH: No Rush Service, Estimate Ship Date 12 Business Days •SERVICE: STANDARD WARRANTY: 3-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY PLUS LIFE-TIME TECHNICAL SUPPORT •SOFT1: Free Microsoft® Office® 2010 STARTER EDITION (Reduced-Functionality versions of Word and Excel that include advertising) [+0] •SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO •SPEAKERS: 600Watts PMPO Subwoofer Stereo Speakers [+15] •TABLET: None •TEMP: NZXT Sentry-2 Fan Touch Screen Fan Control & Temperature Display [+29] •TUNING: None •TVRC: None •USB: None •USBFLASH: None •USBHD: None •USBX: NZXT Internal USB 6-PORT Expansion Module [+19] •VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 4GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card [+240] (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA) •VIDEO2: None •VIDEO3: None •WNC: None •XSYS: None •_PRICE: (+2397)
  7. I have to say after reading that (and after I get a little extra cash) I will be upgrading my premium membership to a lifetime membership. I think I can speak for everyone here that we really appreciate how you run the Nexus.....oh and WTF no downloads!!!! ;P
  8. I'd say $1500 or less I have to work in UK prices but the conversion is usually straight for computer equipment (i.e. £1 == $1 US) The other posters who've pointed out that your upgrade options are limited are completely correct - the 775 board you have in there is pretty much maxed out with a C2Q in it (and is obsolete as far as Intel are concerned). The above is not to say that an upgrade is out of the question though - you could easily keep your existing case, RAM, PSU and HDD (plus any other bits that aren't soldered onto the motherboard!), just upgrading the RAM, CPU, Mobo and OS to something more current. There are two options I would consider: a recent (i.e. Ivy Bridge Socket 1155) Intel Core i5 processor with an SLI/crossfire capable motherboard (options there for future upgrade to Core i7 and dual gfx cards should the need arise) + additional RAM (can't see how your RAM is configured in your current system so you may have to replace the lot if it's in 1GB sticks) AMD FX processor (opinion is divided on these, they tend to be a little behind the Intels in pure performace but can save a little money) with an equivalent SLI/crossfire motherboard + RAM as for the Intel I personally went for the second option and will be upgrading my gfx from my current GTX460 later this year, got the added bonus of SATA3 and USB3 ports on the new board for any future upgrades. The operating system "upgrade" (you will have to do a clean install!) - some retailers will sell you an OEM (cheaper) version of windows as long as you order it at the same time as your hardware - you may even still be able to get Win7 from some too. Beyond this my only advice would be on gfx cards: if you go nVidia avoid anything that has a second digit lower than a 6 for gaming! (example: GTX640 is worse than a GTX560 despite being a newer card) Can't advise you on AMD/ATI gfx as I fell out with those years ago! (they may have improved since but once bitten, twice shy when it comes to crap drivers and poor AA performance) EDIT: As for building it yourself - not that hard really... the only tool you need is a crosshead screwdriver, it's not physically possible to plug anything in the wrong way around or in the wrong hole nowadays and itwill be cheaper than a complete new rig :) Wow, thatnks for the in depth response. I think I'll gut what I have and do what you said and replace...mobo, graphics card, more ram, operating system, cpu....im guessing newegg is the best place to start. just gotta research to make sure all the parts i want will play nice together. I made a big mistake almost a decade ago and bought the best of everything and I ended up with hardware that didnt play nicve together!
  9. Haven't seen this idea yet. But there are a number of armors/outfits from the GI Joe universe that I'd love a modder to take up...Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, etc...
  10. @ IsharaMeradin That made it work, thanks. KUDOS
  11. Having the same issues. I'm sure they're already looking into it.
  12. Seems a little bloated but I've seen larger. Mods that use a lot of scripting tend to bloat saves, especially if your installing and uninstalling mods all the time with the same saves. I would suggest this mod as essential to help with save game bloat. Possessive Corpses no more lazy zombies and shy nirnroots http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4528
  13. I was curious about solid states drives and if they're worth getting. I currently have my primary 250gb 7200 rpm sata hard drive and a secondary 1tb 7200 rpm sata. From what I've posted is my motherboard good enough to handle newer video cards, 64bit operating system, etc? Is my processor good enough or would something newer be beneficial?
  14. Come the beginning of the year I either want to upgrade my existing computer or buy a whole new rig. I'm looking for the cheapest route possible to be able to play Skyrim and other games with graphic settings at the max (with ENB's and HD etc...). I can run Skyrim on high with 150+ mods no problem as long as theres not to many HD mods in my lineup with a good framerate, but my current comp is aging and I'm not as computer literate as I once was. See the attachments. I'm running 32bit and I know I really need to upgrade my system to 64bit which I think my hardware it compatable. I'm not sure how good my motherboard, graphics card and processor are compared to whats out now. I don't like to overclock either. With the information I provided would it be cheaper to upgrade what I currently have and if so what do I need to upgrade or would it be cheaper to buy a new rig? I've never built my own and don't know if I'm capable so I would have to buy one from whatever company. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
  15. I really don't mind steam (I keep it in offline mode just in case I lose my internet connection so I can still play Skyrim!). I think I'd be pretty pissed though if I bought a store copy, brought it home to install and play and couldn't because I didn't have an internet connection. I'm not 100% sure if this is really the case because I do have a connection, but if it is there should be a way to play the game if you were in that situation. Thats my biggest gripe with steam.
  16. I was using 1.7.7 when this problem occured and after countless tries of trying a previous save I put steam in online mode and installed 1.8, which didn't seem to make any difference at all. OK, with the new game he activated the wayshrine so I'm guessing it was a corrupted save!
  17. I was using 1.7.7 when this problem occured and after countless tries of trying a previous save I put steam in online mode and installed 1.8, which didn't seem to make any difference at all.
  18. I started a new game and am almost back at that quest again. If the quest goes through I'm gonna guess its 1.8 or a corrupted save. BTW thanks for the replies. if a definate fix becomes available make sure you post it here so other people with this issue can find a solution.
  19. Ok I cleaned with TES5EDIT Update and dawnguard esm and some mods i have installed as well, still nothing!
  20. Okay heres the deal. During the Touching the Sky quest, Knight Paladin Gelebor wont open the wayshrine. Once Gelebor says "let me show you" he turns and then proceeds to do nothing. He won't cast his spell to open the first wayshrine and I cannot continue the quest. I've searched google and the forums and this bug is listed and the fix is to reload a previous save and continue doing so until he opens the wayshrine. Well I've done this about 100 times now with no luck. I've tried uninstalling mods to see if a mod was making Gelebor not cast the spell, but no luck there either. I can do a console setstage quest blah blah, but that still wont open the shrine and won't give me the chalice, and would probably break the quest even more. I've tried using previous save from way earlier to and no luck. I'm at that point now where I just want to hang the game up for good. Can anyone please help me, I'm at my wits end here!!!!!!!!
  21. Trying to figure out how many vanilla armors there are in game. With all the different hold armors, unique, robes, etc... does anyone know the exact count? Guess I could use the wikipdia and count 1 by 1 but I'm afraid I'll miss some. So anyone know?
  22. First, I know there are plenty of house mods that have tons of mannequins and there are even a few armory mods out there that have something very simular on what I'm about to ask for. Simply put most of us already have gotten attached to one house or another and don't really care to install more. The Wardrobe mod (which has the basic Idea of what I'm looking for) I've read in the comments there are a ton of problems with so..... Can someone please make a very basic mod that put up a nice looking room with say a dozen mannequins in one cell, then branch of again and put another dozen in anaother cell (and so on and so on)...basically a copy and paste job after the first room is done. This way when the high poly count modded armors get put on all the mannequins in one cell it doesn't stutter, freeze or crash the game, and too many in one cell (or to small of a room) can certainly do that, especially when your use mods like MLLY. I'd love to be able to display every variation of all the vanilla armors + the unique ones and then the tons of modded armors I have installed.all in one place. Possible having special displays of certain armors like Ebony or Dwarven for example with the exact amount of weapon plaques or racks to display the various weapons belonging to that armor group. I know there are a lot of others like me that are probably just waiting for the same thing.so if anyones willing to take it on I'd REALLY appreciate it.
