Shipping container houses / buildings
seekingthesun replied to Gohstly's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
Download any of the settlement mods and build one yourself -
That doesn't stop people from making requests that require a shitton of scripting, voice acting, etc. I tried to make a dial pistols mod. The problem is that there aren't one handed animations for the left hand

No it won't, because there's way too many moving parts to ever reverse the main quest. I implore you to experiment with the resetquest, startquest, and setstage commands. I did manage to reset every single global value and stray script to start Diamond City Blues from a much earlier stage. Paul died, because I didn't have time for that nonsense at the time so I wanted to restart it, it required resurrecting paul, and resetting pauldies script among others and getting all the NPCs in the Colonial Taphouse to trigger the start of the quest again, and it was super buggy anyway but it completed.. However, to do that to a completed quest, ughh it's so messy. The main quest is particularly intractable because unlike diamond city blues, the main quest flows from one to the next. You'd have to reset every global value, NPC, and quest, and it still might not work.

You should point the magical effect at the scrapper02 perk. Look at how the VANsperk is handled, that uses a magical effect to apply a perk

It's not impossible. I'd even be surprised if it never happened. It's just, who knows even where to start?

Spawn Items - A Script For Containers
seekingthesun replied to MadTod's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
There's two ways you could do this. Open your box in fo4edit See the section "COCT" ? You can now do 1 of 2 things after copying that as an override. 1. You could add the items you want to spawn to those listed leveled lists. If you do that, the objects you want will be spawned along with whatever is normally spawned. This has the greatest chance of not working as a constructible object 2. Add your base item as a new entry to the contents.- 3 replies

Has anyone successfully created an interior settlement?

What do I add to the location initialization quest? -
The power armor coding barely works for power armor. Bethesda cut a mounted MG because they set it up to use some power armor elements and its f'ing horrible. It just doesn't work. The vertibirds work by being animals that add the player as an armor addon. That's right, vertibirds are animals. Power armor themselves are a race, they can sometimes come to life on their own which is terrifiying. Both are exhaustively coded to work. There's a few things in fallout 4 that are surprising how much of the game files they take up. Power armor is easily 5% of the game. The scripts that tell all the people in diamond city what to do during different quests and times of day/year are another 5% of the game. The entire main quest is maybe 5%

Ahh yes I'm sure Justin Rolland would be totally willing to sit in a recording booth for the same 6 months it took to record protagonist dialog -
Spawn Items - A Script For Containers
seekingthesun replied to MadTod's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I can't parse this I think I know what you're saying. There isn't anything that prevents that container from having those items, unless you did it wrong.- 3 replies

Why would you go about it this way? You're going about it in a very clumsy way. I'm not aware of anyone who decided to repack a mod as a bethesda archive file.
-
yeah search for it in the creation kit and then drag it over into the window where you view the world. It's a bit more complicated in fo4edit, that said, I use fo4edit for these sorts of things

That takes hours, start by deleting a bunch of critical files like the .exe and the strings folder and then verifying cache

Help!...remove negative effect on stimpak & radaway!
seekingthesun replied to ceano's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
One of the most common side effects of chelation compounds is that they are effective, in part because they prevent the body from taking up things like heavy metals but it also things like amino acids and sugars, as well as causing diarrhea, but you'd probably have that from the radiation itself as the body sloughs off dead tissue. -
Settlement Build Limitations After "Settlements Expanded"
seekingthesun replied to ce1145's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Technically speaking the limit for settlements is the number of triangles. There will eventually be problems with graphics because you're taxing your computer's resources. That said, the limit is a lot lower than it needs to be for players that exceed the specifications. The problem with "settlements expanded" that I've found is that the author did so without any consideration for how many cells their buildable area bleeds into. My mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11545/? does so while minimizing extraneous cells/worldspaces per settlement and in my opinion includes better areas nearby settlements instead of just raw size.- 7 replies

Diamond City decorations
seekingthesun replied to htomsirveauxjr's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
There is the script or two that I've seen that actively are checking against the global value of game day. I'm not entirely sure what you are asking because it's easy enough to set the game day with console commands, and by extension to write a script to change it -
I've tried just about everything to get this to work. I've tried to reverse engineer valt 98's script. I've copied DLC01workshopparent. So I've even created custom scripts for adding the workshop location, I go in and I even try stages 10 and 20 with the console in addition to other triggers and nothing seems to be adding the settlement to the workshops list. I read the FAQ on Bethesda.net but I still cannot get this to work. I am able to get my settlement as an option to send settlers, they just never go there. The vault 98 mod is so simple, there's no custom scripts, just a VMAD that runs things nicely but I can't get that to work at all for me. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. Here is the .esp that i've been working with. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwCbW8O1AnqfRHM0cUIya0w0QTg
