Qwinn´s Ultimate DAO Fixpack v3 (no longer beta!)
mcgoy replied to Katzapult's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Saw no reason to reply with 'duh' for not reading everything however The project pages are available again rather than the solid white screen of uselessness. i don't know how long they will be available so for those who wanted to download something and didn't... I suggest downloading while the project pages are available! -
Qwinn´s Ultimate DAO Fixpack v3 (no longer beta!)
mcgoy replied to Katzapult's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
As of 6pm, the individual project pages don't seem to be available. I am logged on, I can do searches, see my the icons & links for my subscriptions, but the project pages themselves come up as a solid white screen Just thought I would let everyone know. -
New Conversation, Same VO Problems
mcgoy replied to LadyHonor's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
I would have to have this in my own toolset (no, I don't want it - no time) to really troubleshoot. Stages need to be used. VO needs to be done first and then then facial effects (the default is robovoice which takes longer). If using some of the animations, you have to confirm that the animation isn't longer than the spoken line; it won't proceed until the animation finishes - even if you don't see any movement. The list of possibilities goes on and on. The player can always advance by hitting ESC, but it is a 'best practice' to have only one line before the player makes a choice. Yes, I have done this, multiple times, but this is the type of problem that you will encounter. -
How to get the toolset
mcgoy replied to UnholyDuq's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
http://www.gog.com offers the toolset as a part of the Dragon Age Ultimate package. They have offered the game for less than a year and have already had it on sale for under $10 - twice. Yes, it is yet another expense. -
How to add custom items without console?
mcgoy replied to irxson's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
My preference would always be this: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/PRCSCR_Script_Templates#Adding_an_Item_to_an_existing_Vendor_or_Container -
You have to be more specific and tell us what error messages you get or what the results are. Learn to do the basics first and then learn how to create new abilities.

Now that the BSN is closing...
mcgoy replied to LadyHonor's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Rid of the ads. Actually, I got premium because I have mods uploaded here and it seemed only fair to pay something for the service that I am receiving. -
Trouble with voice over
mcgoy replied to LadyHonor's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
This may be the same as this question http://fextralife.com/forums/t264455/long-pauses-between-voiced-lines/ Make sure animations don't extend past the end or the spoken portion. For failure tosync, you need to create the facial effects again -
Play stand-alone module in single player campaign?
mcgoy replied to Taylor17387's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
With that as an example, no, you cannot do what you are asking. Fragments of Ferelden is a new quest that involves someone other than your Grey Warden. It says: So this isn't your grey warden and it isn't the standard Companions. You would have to literally rewrite the mod. -
Play stand-alone module in single player campaign?
mcgoy replied to Taylor17387's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I'm sorry, but with no more detail than you have provided, it is impossible to say. And very unlikely that it can be done without the B2B file. Are these mods on Nexus and truly standalone (i.e. you select them from 'other campaign') -
Play stand-alone module in single player campaign?
mcgoy replied to Taylor17387's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to create a mod? This can be done and the tutorials for modding start with: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Main_Page Alter a mod made by someone else? This will be virtually impossible to make changes extensive enough to change a standalone into an addon unless you have access to all of the code. -
Play stand-alone module in single player campaign?
mcgoy replied to Taylor17387's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
It is possible to create a new module like Stone Prisoner, but to turn a module that plays like Witch Hunt into a module that plays like Stone Prisoner You would have to make changes to the code. -
You probably need a lot of thing and scripts are just one of them. There is usually a script associated with the module itself. It would be easier for you to start with something small/easy or at least reference which tutorial you are following

Too much for me to say in one message the toolset wiki is your friend https://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset the toolset wiki is probably going to be taken down as a part of the BSN shutdown, but it is there for a while

The request seems to be for more talents or a new class; I don't think the All Origins is what is being requested.

Can't interact with revered mother in Lothering.
mcgoy replied to SNK575's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Please list the mods installed; without that list if is unlikely that anyone can help you determine why you have this/these issues -
the old lady at ark eamon's estate
mcgoy replied to LadyHonor's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I believe it is a mod that gives her the conversation about Zevran -
I don't know if any of this will impact the downloads, but a few "notes of interest" based on the pages that I read.... Multiple projects are (probably) spam, Bioware didn't always clean up projects that were advertisementsMultiple projects never had any files associated with them (abandoned, lost interest, didn't get the public acclaim that was expected, etc.)The file download being greyed out means that the author didn't identify a main file; it doesn't mean that there aren't any files there. Each project can have multiple downloadable files'published' means darn little. If I remember correctly, this feature was added after a number of the modders had already left. "planning" can mean that the mod author is still planning the mod or it can mean that the mod author was gone when the option was made availableMod authors must choose to make a file accessible. Files that aren't published may be older versions of the files or may be 'not ready for prime time' files or might be from the 'old' BSN which would all restriction to a group of users. I uploaded my 'finished' mods to Nexus, but kept my mods that were in development/testing on BSN because the BSN project pages had less traffic and it was easier to restrict access to testers. I may use DropBox (or something similar) for future development, I find it rather annoying on Nexus when a new file is shown as being added almost every day for some mods. (oops - got off topic) Personally, I removed all published files from BSN and provided links to the upload on Nexus the last time that BSN was shutting everything down. The only files I have left on BSN are test versions; a number of mod authors did this - if they left anything on BSN. I hope that explains some of what you were seeing during the downloads.

Gay Alistair All-in-One Compatibility Mod
mcgoy replied to Pawper's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
You would have to learn to use the toolset http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Main_Page You would have to learn both the specifics of creating your own cutscenes (since original cutscenes don't include male to male interactions for Alistair) and dialogue files as well as how to edit existing cutscenes and dialogue files. Your request is not a small one -
Gay Alistair All-in-One Compatibility Mod
mcgoy replied to Pawper's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I'm sorry, but this IS exactly what you will have to do. Combining all of those mods and uploading to Nexus would require permission from each mod author. Combining those mods on your own computer and NOT sharing it with others does not require permissions from the mod authors. Or you might be able to find someone to create a mod from scratch that implements all of the concepts from the individual mods. (unlikely because it would be a lot of work, but it could happen) In which case, you want to put a request in the mod request section. -
balmz is REQUESTING more spells, not offering them. willjk57, If you would like to have something similar as arrows, I would suggest a new topic making the request.

Installing extra dog slot
mcgoy replied to cdniki88's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
1. What they do mention is that it is some of the browsers that rename them regardless of what the mod author named the file. The mod author and Nexus do not have ANY control over the browzer changing the file extension. 2. The specifics of the mod/gameplay can be discussed on the project page. The comments section for extra dog slot advise against having him in the party for Rescue Anora and Landsmeet. At least the comments were there a few years ago when I played the mod.
