  1. So I was going along with Mr. House's plan since he seems like a nice guy who has honest motives and intentions, and no personal stake at all. Until he told me to kill the BoS and my jaw dropped. How could I possibly betray my fellow brothers from fallout 3? They saved the lives of countless wastelanders, protected others in times of need, and helped save the purifier from mass genocide. Mr. House gave no good reasons or explanations for their need to be eliminated, and wouldn't even talk about negotiating with them. So I promptly exited the conversation, opened up House's bio-chamber, and falcon punched him to oblivion with my saturnite fist super heated. After doing that, I went over to greet the BoS. They were caged in a bunker for their own protection, had me wear a slave collar to do their bidden until they sufficiently trusted me, and told me very casually that their normal procedure was to just kill trespassers for their own benefit and security, and the only reason the ncr ranger living in the bunker and me weren't dead is because they thought it would be nice to have a liaison to the outside world, and wanted to test me by getting the ncr ranger to either leave or die. Not to mention after every turn from the beginning of the confrontations with the BoS to meeting their elder, each BoS member didn't hesitate to remind me that if it wouldn't have been for the elder's request to see me, they'd have gladly and quickly put a bullet in my head. This is such a disgrace to what the BoS stands for and how they have been portrayed in previous games such as fallout 3. I understand making them a minimal part of FNV because it's a separate game that wants it's own story and characters, not relying on past factions. I get it. But you, Bethesda, didn't need to do it like this, by making them a small, pathetic, moronic faction of weaklings who somehow have no moral compass or sense of judgement when it comes to killings and logical reasoning. This just makes a Mockery of what they stand for. Bringing them back as small easter egg characters and maybe a small group of BoS members who wander the mohave and help people whenever they see people who need help would have been sufficient and a good homage to them. Not making them this pathetic group of people. After experiencing their disgusting claims of being BoS and realizing they were nothing but impostors who were tarnishing the name, I blew their bunker sky high and let them all be burred alive to never be seen or heard from again, as to never tarnish their reputation. *RANT OVER*
  2. I'm talking about two separate things here. The first is just to vent my frustration in why the best looking house in the entire Mohave can't be acquired by the player, even after "disposing" of the prior owner (avoiding spoilers). So that's a shame and I feel like Bethesda missed an obvious player home opportunity that would have made the game just that much more fun. *EndRant* So my questions about the house are this really: 1. If I just kill the robots and use the lounge as my own personal home are the containers storage friendly or will they lose all my items after a certain period of time? 2. Is there any mod that allows the home to fully become yours? That would be fantastic and if there isn't i'd highly recommend for any modder who isn't working on anything at the moment to jump on this great idea (I'll be posting that idea on the mod request forums if that's the case).
  3. I'm not entirely sure if this falls under the category of mod, but you would need to modify the texture of a specific item in the game so I suppose it would. I have found a look I absolutely love in fallout 3 on my new character, which is the stealth armor suit with the shady hat on. However, in the back portion of the hat the stealth suit is clipping through it. If someone could do what I'd imagine to be a simple fix and make it so the stealth armor won't clip through the hat it would mean a tremendous amount to me! Or if there is a simple fix I can do myself as in adjusting some sort of setting in the console commands, that would be awesome too. Thanks for taking the time to read this! :D
  4. When I hit the download manually button, it promptly loads the servers page. But then when I click on one of the locations to start the download, nothing happens. It just doesn't load and there's no error report or anything, it simply doesn't register I even clicked it. I have no idea what the problem could be :/
  5. This is more a theme with the Elder scrolls and Fallout series than just Skyrim, but it just hit me during my latest playthrough of Skyrim. I wanted to make it extremely realistic (in respect to the lore) and it dawned on me how ridiculous it was to not have any explanation for carrying items. Hell, the weapons don't even show up on the person if you have more than one! Not really complaining about it since I understand it had to be done that way (unless you wanted to strap on a five story high backpack and lug it around everywhere) but does this thought ever ruin anyone else's immersion just a little?
  6. Hey thanks so much for the suggestions, these look great!
  7. Hey fellas, I am starting up a new file and want to play the vanilla game in essence with the only mods being graphical and the one that allows you to scope in with weapons (forget what it's called). Simply put I just want my game to look as nice as possible, and I thought who better to ask for mod suggestions than capable and experienced mod users! So if anyone would be kind enough to put a list of graphical mods they use or think I should use to make my game look awesome that'd be greatly appreciated :D.
  8. I see where you're coming from and agree that the legion have more devotion than the NCR, no doubt about that. However I do disagree with you on how far that devotion would take you in battle. Just looking at the physical landscape of the area surrounding the damn, there are only two clear cut ends to infiltrate by except for the large cliffs on the one side of it. The majority of the troops will try and flank the NCR at both ends, but undoubtedly fail at this with the NCR's superior gun skills and tactical advantage. There will probably be some legionaries who fire from the top of the cliffs, but this will prove easy work for the snipers at the tops of the towers. Any attempt at scaling the cliff will just be disastrous so I doubt they'd even attempt such a move. Even though the NCR troops don't have drive or devotion for their political views or morals on the issue of hoover damn, there is no doubt they'd fight their hardest to protect themselves, their comrades, and their jobs. To assume that somehow a legionary warrior sprinting straight at an NCR troop with more "drive" would somehow impede the bullet's progress fired by the NCR trooper's gun is a little movie-esk to say the least. Drive plays a major role if both sides are evenly matched and it just comes down to who wants it more, but in this situation I don't think that applies. A trooper with a gun and a tactical advantage vs. a legionary soldier with a machete most likely (at most a broken or worn down varmint rifle or .357 magnum that he just picked up on the way and has little to no experience with) would be slaughter 999/1000, and no amount of "drive" will change those odds.
  9. If anyone has reason to believe otherwise please feel free to discuss it here!
  10. From what I've observed and learned from playing the game and reading the wiki, I've come to the conclusion that there is little to no chance the Legion could ever take over Hoover Damn and repel the NCR successfully (excluding the help of the main character). Their style of combat doesn't suit a head to head fight with the NCR, which would be necessary to overtake the damn. Also, the recruits and low ranking soldiers in the Legion aren't armed with barely any firearms, unless they pick up varmint rifles or .357 revolvers. This clearly is no match against the NCR's superior firepower and training. The high ranking Prime, Decanus, and veteran legionaries use sub machine gun and cowboy repeaters primarily, but they are few in number compared to the NCR elite. The highest ranking tier in the Legion army, the Centurions, aren't ever used for battle so it doesn't matter what weapons they use. The bottom line is in a simulation run 100 times, i'd say that the NCR would win just about every one, with the exception of one or maybe a couple losses just by random chance and luck being on the Legion's side. What do you guys think?
  11. So I've been playing Skyrim for quite some time and have noticed a randomization in the difficulty of some enemies in seemingly random locations, and I was wondering if anyone else noticed this and/or has an explanation. On my current character i'm using I play on adept difficulty and am pretty far into the game. When I invade a fort there are some enemies that do hardly any damage and I can take them out in one to two hits, but then there are also other enemies that do a ridiculous amount of damage (almost one shotting me) and can take hits like a rock without even being phased by my attacks. Granted they are a varying degree of bandit with the latter one being a tougher opponent, there shouldn't be THIS much variation in difficulty, especially on adept. I'm a pretty high level with some very nice gear and weapons, yet I still can randomly be obliterated by some overpowered enemies that as far as I can tell shouldn't be kicking my ass the way they are. Also in some forts I'll be fighting these extremely easy bandits, and then there will be a fire mage who basically one shots me with his fire ball spell which he can rapid fire. Is adept harder than I thought, or could it possibly be a mod I've downloaded that's artificially increasing the difficulty of enemies?
  12. Currently the damage a bound bow does is based off of conjuration level and not archery level. This seems to me like a mistake, since just because your bow might be more powerful due to how powerful the conjuration is, that shouldn't determine how effective you use it since you're still using it just like a usual bow. With every other bow in Skyrim the damage scales with archery. If someone could change the damage to scale according to archery that would be greatly appreciated!
  13. I'm not sure if a mod like this exists, but I definitely endorse one being created. I never understood their intentions behind punishing the player for discovering a part of the game earlier than anticipated; isn't that the point of open world games? >.>
  14. Hey, i'm a bit confused after reading that on whether or not you are a "pirate" or not...could you clarify please?
  15. It's definitely not because of lag and lack of dodging skills on my part. I'm not amazing at PvP by any stretch, but definitely competent enough to handle most situations effectively. The major problem I have with magic is how much damage it does and can potentially do because of the items in the game that bump up the damage significantly. When i'm being dealt 60% of my health off of a single semi-quick spell, I don't care how good your dodging skills and connection are. The game format shouldn't force you to HAVE to dodge 100% of the attacks in order to stand a chance. I've been using the crest shield that blocks 80% of magic, and am still getting my entire stamina bar taking out while blocking and then a big chunk out of my health when someone uses dark magic directly in my face. At some point during the fight I need to attack, and when I do all that person needs to do is take some punishment and do dark magic, which will almost undoubtedly work out in their favor with trading damage.
  16. When you say "the scene" what are you referring to?
  17. I was PvPing just recently in the kiln, and noticed quite a bit of people spamming magic. It didn't annoy me at first, until I realized just how cheap it really was. I was actually hit with a crystal soul spear the second I was done my invading animation that did 60% of my health, then I was staggered and hit with a second spear that did me in. I understand the staggering part was my own fault and wearing better armor/wolf ring would fix that problem, but magic in general in dark souls seem too easy to use and too overpowered... Another time I invaded someone they used dark bead and the homing missiles continuously until my stamina was out and then I was done for.. It just doesn't seem like it's fair in the slightest. I suppose I could counter the magic with full havel's armor...but again I don't think it's fair for my build to be dictated by another person's cheap tactics. I hope that for the next installment of this nonetheless brilliant game, they make the magic more balanced and have better counters to it than in this game. Anyone else agree?
  18. When I entered the outcast's hideout and found they wanted to use me as their lab rat after having degraded and belittled me for being a filthy wastelander mere seconds before asking me to help them, I couldn't help but wonder why I wasn't being forced to complete this simulation and that they didn't just take my pipboy themselves. Well when I unlocked the easy lock on the door next to the pod room and found Gary 23's corpse I began to understand why. Clearly they attempted to remove his Pip-boy and use it for themselves, and for whatever reason it didn't seem to work. So they needed a willing cooperative individual who had a functional pip-boy in order to get to the high-tech armory. I wasn't going to let Gary's death and them using me slide, so I played along with their little game until the armory was open....upon which I unleashed a fury of bullets and explosives the likes of which they'd probably never seen before (and never will see again). Then I was curious as to why Gary was there and if he had any other significance than just being random Gary 23. I then discovered he was part of a vault experiment of cloning, and he had become hostile and mentally unstable. I then came across a video of someone playing an interrogation log from Gary 23 that was in the game files but not in the actual game environment itself. I then felt terrible killing all of the outcasts in that base, because I was under the impression they were cold-hearted and careless monsters who would rip off your arm and take a machine that would better their initiative if they could. But upon listening to the log, I realized they tried to reason with him and get him to cooperate, even saying that they'd let him go if they would either help them or give up the pip-boy...but like I previously mentioned, Gary 23 (or any of the Garys for that matter) weren't in the right mindset to be capable of answering such questions or processing complex thoughts. So under (understandably so) an aggravated situation with a hostile and non-responsive Gary 23, he took the only valuable thing on him. That to me doesn't qualify as an egregious act of violence that deserves a massacre of outcasts, not even when coupled with the rough language and harsh treatment they give outsiders. I'm just curious if people who didn't know this interrogation log existed now hearing this for the first time feel differently towards the outcasts, or if it doesn't change your minds at all. And if you had already known about the existence of this log, had hearing about it for the first time whenever that was change your thoughts on them as well? Thanks for reading!
  19. Sorry I'm getting back to you at such a late date, but essentially yes, that's exactly what I was referring to. All my OP was suggesting was if someone could implement a variant of the steel armor in the game currently or an entirely new set of armor altogether that would reflect a uniquely "Nordic" armor set. I said in an earlier post that lore was never an issue and this idea wasn't thought up with the intention of being lore friendly, and yet the post even right before this one is talking in depth about the lore of past games and previous armors in different locations... So I hope you get to read this extremely late response and get your laugh after all; it's well overdue :P.
  20. I wish I was competent at modding so I could help; sorry i'm not :(. Just wanted to say though this mod looks fantastic and I'll be tracking it awaiting it's completion!
  21. Thanks so much Prensa, that seems to have done the trick! :D Scott
  22. Just recently whipped out an oldy but goody; fallout 3. Having a ton of fun making a new character and just playing through again on very hard difficulty. Even with the copious amount of mods I have installed the game runs flawlessly with no lag whatsoever even in heavy fps intensive combat interactions. However after about a half hour or so of playing it randomly froze and I had to quit out of it via task manager. It was an odd inexplicable occurrence so I decided to just load back up the game and shrugged it off as just some fluke...until it happened a second time after around the same amount of time played as when it froze the previous time. There's no reason why this should be happening and no commonalities between the two times it froze. Both times it was out of combat and in a light fps area. I also wasn't performing any action like opening my pipboy or anything; just walking casually. Can someone help me figure out how to solve this issue? Thanks for reading and I hope you can help!
  23. I have almost no knowledge of the technical side of computers and the internal workings of them, but these are my computer specs: Processor is IntelĀ® Core i7 CPU 965 @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz with 6.00 GB of RAM and a 64-bit Operating System. The graphics card is a GeForce GTX 480. I hope that made more sense to you all than it did me; I just copied that from my system properties section. I'm also running windows 7 if that matters. Now I am running multiple mods for Skyrim along with an ENB that is apparently taking up a lot of fps. The game is extremely laggy to the point that it's unbearable. My question is should my computer be able to handle an enb and around 15 other mods (with only half of them being a decent size)? If so, what could I do to make my computer handle better? **Note** I don't have the money at this point in time to afford any new parts so please don't suggest that, and i'm already using msi afterburner to help out the lag. Any new information you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading this far.
