  1. <Previously discussed>

*Varying Health/stamina/magicka statistics for Same leveled Creatures/guards.

-The three wolves may all be the same level, but one wolf may have more stamina then its three Lvl 4 packmates.

-One may have more health. So that 30pt fireblast spell may only kill 3 of the Hounds and the last one may still get to maul you.

    ---

*Improved varying uses of the "Grab button

-While sprinting, it becomes a tackle option.

-During stealth, it can be a way to Grab your target, THEN kill him. instead of revealing yourself during the kill.

-Guards/marauders can use it on you to direct your movement. or hold you still.

-Using objects/bodies as shields against projectiles

    -Bracing & forcing doors

    ---

    *Movement speed affecting aggression/Morale/Detection.

-backing away slowly from a pack of snarling wolves=They forget you.

    -Turn & run =Instinctual Chase

    -

Slowling walking towards a dear/rabbit with an apple*grab function* and it may let you approach them.

    -

<not in sneak mode> people will have a slight delay in noticing you while walking.

    -

Standing up in a bar and Sprinting out<people will check theyre pockets/Everyones head will jerk to see whats happening>

    -

    *Comments upon your anomoly actions.

<Sprinting through town & people will say

    "whats his hurry?"

"He must be late,,and She must be BEAUTIFUL"(Ezioo  )

    "You could have hurt me!"

    "Damn Nords, always rushing everywhere"

    -

    <Having your weapons out

    "i dont want any trouble"

"Oh,,,so you wanna fight? isat it?!"

"Guard) hey, keep an eye on that one"

<Blood on your blade & unsheathed

    "eye, what happened...."

    "I hope he disserved it"

"Guards! Guards!! i think that man just killed someone!"

    ---------------

    Guards to have Restricted Areas/

(Think AC, Or the Guard in Cheydinahall

have them stand in entrances or side by side,

And aplly the "Push" animation*Grab* when you get to close or try to sneak by )

  2. Or, how about instead of fighting a Horde of enemies have it so that you fight one really powerful enemy equivalent to a lot of smaller ones? Maybe something really big and powerful looking that would chase you if you tried to run away? And to make it even scarier, you pretty much had to fight it alone? And if you managed to kill it you'd get some kind of awesome power or something? ;)

Me and Odai had discussed the concept of "Chase Scenario Dungeons" a long while back.

I find it to be a good topic, if anyone wants to make a thread on it? :whistling:

Think....Indiana Jones Collapsing temple<Rades of Lost Arcr> ....with a Minatour.

-Perhaps even Chase Scenario Assasinaions, Akin to the Original Assasins Creed.

    -

& BLACK HALO321 be nice bro, you lose a good 2/3rds of your validity when you argue angry or in an angry tone.

Odai is QUITE,quite smart and his reasons do make much sense. Even i came to the conclusion that a Horde Mode w/ draugr may not be the best idea.

BUT a Survial mode with Werewolves..... :ohdear:

  3. I'm workin' on it! Just got home from being around the country for three weeks straight, cut me some slack!

If you recall, my last preview went live weeks after I played the game at Quake Con and I don't think you were all too disappointed with what came of it, yes?

When it comes to the Elder Scrolls, I like to write stories. If you're looking for a preview that reads like a list of bullet points that contain new information about Skyrim, then my preview is not what you are looking for. What you will get is a first hand descrption of my latest adventures in Skyrim which contains plenty of details about NPC and companion AI, combat, quests, and areas that are anything BUT Riverwood and Bleak Falls Barrow (even though I did do the bloody Golden Claw quest). If I wrote previews like everyone else, I wouldn't enjoy writing them half as much as a I do. However, it's still rather awesome that you made a thread about this, I <3 the nexus and I hope you'll enjoy my latest when it's finished. ^__^

    Very, very cool bro.

You are quite down to earth and i love that fame hasnt made you forget about us Mortals

I am quite content with Just the date of your release.

Not Knowing, was what caused my strain.

So, for hype's sake, Would you like to give us a wee bit of a teaser of your descriptive adventure...?

  4. Please elaborate on how YOU as a game designer would make "Master" difficulty a challenging option..

    remember these aspects as well...

    *Combat

    *A.I. intellignece

    *Leveling

    *Loot

    *Economy

    *Disposition

    *(hardcore)

    Cheers :turned:

  5. well that crowd who said "KILL THE DOG, RAPE HER" and so on seem to be an accurate representation of the americans. sadly they havent got a great reputation around the world.

We have TERRIBLE reputations around the world.

Well deserved, but remember that you only ever HEAR & SEE the people who scream & jump.

The quit civil ones get thrown into the sweeping generalisation.

    -

My View on HACK & SLASK crowds.

Gaming has...become quite mainstream. You see it on television, strewn across the media, and molested by the immature.

It has gone from something cherished to something socially raped.

I just wish for skyrim to remain a hidden jewel.

    Call me a Hipster,

but id rather not share it with a distastefull crowd.

    -

    Now ABOUT KILLING.

I honestly wish so hard that bethesda would tone down on the violence.

NOW, Before you go up in flames, i say this because of a theory i have called The Jurasic Proggressive Theory :ninja:

The theory dictates, that the Protagonist must always encounter conflicts in proggression. And making too high of a leap in the proggressive chain, or having too much of a Breakneck pace in danger too early will yield to being de-sensitised to the danger.

    EXAMPLE.

    JURRASSIC PARK:

They first are attacked by vellociraptor. then a t rex. Then a PACK of Velociraptors, Then the power goes out. Then the 'Hunter' gets killed. The the Scientist. Then the Velociraptors & the Trex attack.

If they fought the T REX in the beggining, the Velociraptor would have no emotional fear impact.

The move works quite well as there is enough Downtime between encounters for tension to rise. And the encounters are progressive, so you feel like the characters are getting into more & more danger.

    -

In oblivion, you became too desensitised to danger too early on, as you are CONSTANTLY killing everything in your path. You become a murderous titan.

Id like to see less engagements in skyrim. Give Bandits personalities and motives for attacking you. the same goes for creatures.

Because being in constant battle, you will lose all thrill there is in combat. Just look at The Fellowship Of The Ring. PERFECTLY DONE.

Enough combat to keep you excited. Enough tension preluding to conflict to keep you on the edge of your seat. & he characters barely survive each engagement, so you dont feel like they are godly unkillable characters.

    .

(I always joked that Cyrodill was the most oppressive nation in all of nirn<Because bandits outnumber people 6 to 1>)

  6. That is a stupid idea in my opinion I hope it's not a dlc cause I'm so sick of all the kill the zombie there's a ton of em waves upon waves of zombies it's old and I don't want it in my tes game if u want mod it in go for it but not a dlc

We ended up coming to the conclusion that the only way it would work, would be if it switched from a HORDE mode to a SURVIVAL mode.

Werewolves, you know the whole deal.

by the end of the discussion it seemed downright silly of us to think Bethesda wouldnt have put it in.

So trust me, you will most deffinately be seeing Horde SCENARIOS. & most likely Survial scenarios as well. :pirate:

  7. I just have to give you Kudos for that Nate.

I agree as well. But allow me to divert this discussion.

    -----

On the Topic of OP shouts.

What does this CoolDown Time mean?

    FUS ROH DAH

Tier 1 =Fus=knock enemies back and stagger them

    Cooldown time 120 seconds.

    YOL TOOR KRIEN

Tier 1=yol=Spew a fireball from your mouth

    cooldown time 60 seconds

    .

.My Question is....How is the Cool down timer Applied?

*Do i have to wait 60 seconds from YOL to perform ANY other shout again?

*Or can i just flip through the list and porform each shout one after another as long as i dont use the same one twice?

    -

I fear it may be...the second. As in the final part of the demo, we see Todd Perform Firebreath and Lighting storm back to back....OH GAWD

  8. No deformable terrain.

There IS respawning. But the timeline is MUCH longer than OB.

Killing Named NPC will (sometimes) result in a "long lost brother travelling into skyrim and will take up the shop"

as for decomposition....it would be nice to see gradual degration as in over time the corpses show wear and tear.

  9. Wow...i am utterly & truly amazed.

I was genuilly expecting a heated, argumentive string of responses, to the point which i was slightly dreading checking back on his discussion.

But you have all responded intuitively and quite nicely, recognising and evaluating my points and creating very knowledgfull and convinceing responses.

If You are the Fanbase that plays this game, then that gives me enough hope.

    .

    P.S.(Except for you Mikedepreston.....jerkface  )

  10. In all honesty...this was the most dissapointing interview i have ever seen. That interviewer, and the pace of the show, and the fact that it was on Spike all just screamed one thing to me...

    Hack N Slash.

The Elder Scrolls truly skyrocketed with Oblivion's release as to the fact it was available to both PC and Consoles for the first time <Morrowind=xbox only>. Casual and dedicated gamers alike. I too only jumped into TES during Oblivion for the PS3 when my best friend let me Exit the sewers myself...I walked up into The Imperial city and, ignoring my friend's request to "Kill em all" i simply tuned him out and walked...just walked and listened to the mesmerising music and just the feel that i was in a World, rather than a game.

Well, i played it side by side with my friend...& i noticed something truly awful.when asked about The Elder Scrolls... EVERYONE I talked to only appreciated the game for the combat. They said to me "i couldnt wait for Emperor Uriel/Lucien/Valen Dreth/Mankar camoran to stop talking so i could kill em."

everyone simply seemed to approach TES with that Call of Duty level of maturity.Only wanting blood and mayhem.

Now seeing skyrim....That seems to be what they are showing off.Blood and Mayhem. The Target Demographic has changed.

TES has turned from a Subtly Poetic, Narrative world to this Combat ruled, immature, graphically uphauled,,, Casual appealing tragedy.

    -

Iv seen this happen before with My favorite game Assassins Creed. The first one tanked because people wanted more blood & action and less talking.

So The makers appeased the crowd and filled the new game with Sex, Blood, Heroes, Action, Immaturity, Villains and novice dialogue.

The beautiful story was rewritten, The Philosophy was burned down and the game became...one of the greatest commercial succeses of all time in gaming history.

That story formed my ethical codes and beliefs, it changed my goals in life and redesigned my perspective.

What do you beleive Skyrim Will do for you?

    -

I would never blame Bethesda, I Blame you childish fans who wished with closed minds for childish gifts.

    -------------------

..........were was this? It was all lost when writers & philosophers fell down and gave in to weaker minds

  11. we really should discuss what the difficulty slider would do.

As said before, it should not touch enemies HP, but instead there damage output.

But this being said, it would detrimentally throw off all gameplay, as now your comrades die within 3 hits.(as it did not touch upon health)

And how would it work on spells?

So the damage output is a NO-GO.

How about a Damage multiplier <only when against the player.>

Well now were just putting the player at a continuous downhill disadvantage, losing the feel of any hero qualities and you become more of a 'Survivor'

    -

    Heres my solution.

    REVAMP THE COMBAT A.I.

IMO it is the most applicable and generally useful way.

As you raise the difficulty slider these things will happen.

    -

    *Humanoids will recieve more perks.

    -

*The A.I. will become faster responding, and will develop more acute "Reppetition detection"

(its when an npc recognises your reoccuring strategy and counters it)

<Backpedaling with a bow.=The foe will sprint & power attack at your flank instead of charging head on.>

<position self in corner... Block...swing...block...swing...=The foe will draw back and attack you ranged>

<Attack....go invisible....sneak attack...go invisible....=The foe will put his back to the wall and block. OR use magick to spray fire. once you catch on fire your position will be revealed>

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

FPS games like C.O.D. BATTLEFIELD. HALO. all just do the same thing.

<EASY>When enemies fire at you, only 1/4 of each shot contains a 'bullet' im sure youv noticed this if youv played these games on low difficulty. Also there reaction time is halved.<time from when they see you thatthey will take action>

<VETERAN>Every shot they fire contains a "bullet".There reaction time is at 70% now. They throw more grenades. and you take more damage.

There is very little change to the A.I.

would anyone here like to make a topic?

  12. i have no clue what this post is about,

I just read your Signature....Yeahh :whistling:

im sure you had something quite interesting to say,,,but i just cant see it over your signature...

Your like a really smart girl giving a speech, but your huge boobs doom you to be unheard by the distracted crowd :psyduck:

  13. Carry-over-moods

*If you approach an npc who has just exited, or is in the midst of, A heated discussion, let us see his mood carry over to you.

VS- Approaching Alvor who had just had an angry talk with Hod and have him say "Greetings traveler  "

(This could really add a new level to Speechcraft as you may lose opportunities or 'sweetspots'

    .

(You wouldnt go asking your friend for a ride somewhere right after his Girlfriend screamed at him, would you....jerkface)

  14. Parts 9 through 12 are up!

    Argonians & Hircine.

Make sure to comment to keep this bumped for others to see.

& Vote YES to show me you want more :teehee:
