  1. First thanks for takin the time to read this. Now thats said ill get on lol. So far i have been working mainly on new equipment and skethes in RL of models i will be making and importing into the game. As i have never added new models to the game there are a few thins i do not know how to do or the limitations of the CK and the skyrim engine. (without re/writing script, as i have no clue about that) One of the models i am creating is a single hannded hammer, the head will be bound in gold chains that run down the heft of the weapon. That sounds fine as they are wrapped around the weapon, but i wanted to have 3 parts were the chain hangs off the weapon with talismans attached, would i be able to add havok/reactive movement to these or would that effect the whole weapon? (A rough look at the weapon is attached, the squar parts o the heft will be were the hoops holding the hannging chains, sorry it looks shoddy but i dont have time to make a nice picture) Creating landscapes and doing everything like that i am capable of, the model imports and adding specific graphics to items i am in the dark about.   2. A BG nexus would be epic, no more sorcerer's place for me lol. Would be really good to do that, could even be a DnD nexus that covers BG, NWN and IWD.
  3. I grew up with the master system right through to what we have today, i can put any game o from then till now and still enjoy playing it. Graphics i dont even notice these days. Gameplay is the main thing in a game. Look at perfect dark on the N64, i have awsome memories of being at my friends hous eand playing that every night. s*** i bet we would still play it now if we livd in the same town lol. there are so many old games that were perfect, splater house for example, was misrable, grim, gorey, hard as hell but funny all at the same time, now a game in recent years thats all those things is very hard to find, the binding of isaac comes close in a different play style. Roadrash 2 on the sega megadrive ( sega genesis) my god that game i still play to this day. it is 100% fun, and a game should be about fun. no how it looks. the game companies focus to much on looks and over look the important thing, the game itself.
  4. I dont think the mods will work as its an updated infinity engine so i think the mods will all need to re done to work with it, I think the interaction between party members may happen, but i dont think to the extent that NWN2 has it.
  5. Wow EA really have gone to new lows, i remeber when the used to be a good company, back in the 90's when they made NHL 95 and desert strike. Went a bit scewy since lol. Banning acounts if you mod your game is wrong. They may have created it but you bought it, if you want to change it and you can that should be your right, even eula's shouldnt restrict modding. I get the anti piracy thing and im all for anti piracy, lets face it, piracy has really damaged the games industry and forced companies to implement things to prevent it. That said, there is a limit to what companies can do to stop piracy, the rumors of the new x box requiring constant internet requirments is a scary thought, if that is taken on by games developers an internet outage could render you gameless.
  6. wow that is a great. the BG games are soe of my fav games, i still have them some were in the old huge card pc boxes lol. As to questions, bleh there are waaaay to many to ask, But my main one would be are they using the DnD rules used in the first 2 or will they be running on 3.5 or 4th edition rules? Secondly, will Pc users get this as everything i have seen is mac os x and nothing for the pc? Finally, why has this not been done long before now? great job getting a response and even better getting to ask questions. kudos to you

  8. K so i need comments and crits please, bear in mind i have used maya 5/6 times since i downloaded it and i am still learning how to creat things on it but i think these are not to bad. I have taken a few screen shots and just put the different views together. It looks a shody but im not messin about making a pretty picture lol. grimm
  9. Awsome, i am new to using maya and making 3d models but i have taken to it fairly quickly and, geeky as it is i really enjoy it. I did encounter problems exporting files and getting them into skyrim and vica versa but this seems promising, EDIT the DL link is to rapidshare and i cannot access the file, would you be able to upload here or to another site. Sorry to ask but this plug in seems like it could be really usefull for myself and other users of maya on nexus. Thanks grim
  10. Ok so far my work is being held up again by another annoying CK bug. When i open world spaces and select my own, i then set use distant lod ect and it will crash when i save it. It does this with each of them even when selected and saved then, This is rather annoying as i can now no longer COC to the area in game. This is very annoying and i do not know a work around, they need to be set as far as i know, Cheers all.
  11. @nivea ha i never noticed i do that, i looked at some of my older posts and i start with K or O often. Most people dont understand that if the write up is not good the modder wont get much help. I did as i am fair new to forum's and i tend to type as i would talk, which isnt good for gettin people interested, even in reality. Spelling wise im just lazy to check through it lol. @ ghogiel Treating it like a job ad is a good idea, i take more notice of posts like that than i do others. @ Guardianl Just seing what peoples views are on how they would start/request a team/help making a mod. I have my own project and, it would be nice to have help but thats only cuz i can be lazy and the thought of creating more landmass with the landscaping tool is a horrid thought lol. I to prefere working on my own, specially using the CK i dont think that is something a team can work with, unless you split it up so each person does certain things. Rather just work through it on my own, but thats just me. The other point to this is any TES game the CS/CK's are a must and many people new to them dont know how to use them much but have ideas and ask for help and do not get any, or rarley get any
  12. O no its not for me im fine working with the CK, and after my own experiences with teams i prefere to work alone. Its more a question for new folks and what the rest of the mod world thinks is the best way they can get help with anything from a small script change to a huge world. See you guys/girls know these things, new folks may not. My thread my be redunant in a few hours but maybe some one comes across the info you guys gave and it helps get them help.
  13. O i know that much i started a project with friends back when morrowind was the no1 moddin game and after a few weeks it drifts off into being one person doing everything. I ask more so as i see new posts askin for help a fair bit on here, although i have been away at least 3 weeks, and folks just get no help. Im lucky im fair handy with the ck as i have used em since morrowind, and am learning how to create modles although implementing them in game i dread lol, but many people its a hard thing as skyrim is there first game were mod tools are avalable and, IMO, essential.
  14. a lot of new modders, and some old to, often ask for help creating a mod and get no replies or a reply but offering no help other than comments and criticism. I am one of these. i have have started a thread askin for help at least twice, i was lucky the second time to get help from a model maker. So how can new/old modders get help in creating there mods? Would it be best to put a suggestion in about creating a sub topic of locked topic here for modders with no projects going on who are bored?
  15. GRRRRRRRRRRR should say hour, but my u key is nackered! I have posted about not using the height map as I.......shamed to say.......forgot about it, so after getting bored of scrolling around the island I have created to make the sea i decided to use the height map to quickly get it out the way. Now that sounds a good idea, but 4 hours 25 mins later its still doing nothing, its not crashed as the timmer is still counting and task man says its working and not on not responding. See in 4 hours i could have just used the flatten terrain brush and done this, which left me thinking wth is wrong with the ck's height map. Any one else got these insane save times? Its really fair stupid tbh.

There are loads of crafting mods out there now, that add new everything to the game, but the crafting seems to me a bit........well of a cop out, you craft a few daggers and boom lvl up, some more another lvl, i like crafting and i like to make my own stuff and improve it but would it be possible to slow or remove the crafting lvl ups? Say you remove the the skill going up and have all the smithing skill sunlocked straight away, there is no insentive to, basically, cheat to a next lvl. It wouldnt be game breaking as such, you would still have to pick each perk and use a point but you can no longr lvl up from it. This could also work for Alchemy and enchanting. This is the main idea i have, that was just a second idea i came up with while typing lol, When you craft a sword its normally, smelt, leather, sword. so why not have it you have to craft the blade, the hilt, the gaurd all sepratly? this way i think is more realistic and has the potential to be pretty fun, you could even mix and match swords, hitls and guards, if a moddler is willing and able to cut nd shop all the weapons in the game.

Well i got skyrim mid project for an oblivion mod were i was landscaping and after messing about for ages i totally forgot that the heightmap exists, im not going to use it opn this project maybe another one i will, i like the "hand made" feel to the landscape i have done, Actually glad im not the only one who doesnt use that feture of the ck lol Ill reduce the sizes of each pic i have taken and upload them, each one is to large to attach to a reply so i will have to mess about reducing the size without messing up the actual shot taken.
  18. Ok so after a few weeks of working on my own little project my world space is getting a bit larger than i expected. In the cell view box i have well over 100 "wilderness" areas and and most are landscaped, textured, shaded and i ahve started placing marker items down. While working n this i thought o it will be a fairly small area about 40 or so cells so i wont need to use the heightmap, now its just got stupid and im landscaping the entire area with just the landscaping tool......slow going at times. Does any one else make world spaces this way or is it just me being terribly insane and having no life?
  19. Ok after a night of learning how to use mudbox to a respectable level, this is how far i have gotten at texturing the sickle. I know its not been smothed much to get the nice sweeping arch but i quite like the angular look to the blade, should have it finished soon, then i can get it ready for adding into the ck.   21. R274 you are a legend dude, thanks so much for creating the sickle. Im going to have to wait on getting the texture done untill i have watched most of the other tutorial videos, so far all i have ever done is worked within the construction sets/kit so models and textures are a bit over my head. thanks again bud
  22. Aye after looking at the programs used i can understand why they cost cash, but i dont have cash to spend lol. Just wish these programs had a draw tool that i was capable of using, there just so complicated even with the tutorials i have seen there mentally hard to use. gchokyong, if you do manage to create them id add them to my mod and credit you, textures if its a metal or bone blade its all good lol. Im going to have another bash at using blender and hope i can get my head around it. If i can there are so many other weapons i would make, but im not optimistic about my chances of using it lol. I dont understand how a program that works mainly with lines, curves and shapes is soo unrelentingly complicated lol
  23. Anyone able to use blender or 3ds max have a spare few hours and fancy helppin me out by making 2 weapons for my mod i am working on? I cannot get my head around either program and its really slowing down my prgress with the mod. full credit for both weapons will be given to you, the weapons are a sickle and a kukri,. (im not uploading anything to the steam workshop). grim
  24. Thats what i do but some times i find if i would just go half the size of the smallest brush i could make things look much more realistic. As it is im working around it, just using textures on top of one another to hide/take the eye off the odd bit o fterrain here and there lol. Still a shame its not something i could do but meh lol

Since i put this i have wrote down a few more ideas, he was the brother of the Tenhi, and when he was not selected to lead the clan he renounced everything he belived in and vowed to find a way to create life his self, he was then tricked by some crazy necromancer or a god into using the dark arts.
