  1. cheers dude, id gues that it will take about that long on my project, i have over 400 wilderness/town/coast cells. Funny enough i have a core 2 duo and a 4gb ram to so thats easy enough to work out timmings lol.
  2. K so my projet has gotten to a point now were i am going to be uploading the first explorable version of it. Atm i am generating the LOD but it seems to have frozen, i know it does normally freeze doing this, it says so lol, but after 2 hours its still frozen, task man says its still running and does not say not responding so it must still be doing its thing. That said does any one have a rough estimate how long it can take? cheers all. grim

See i agree aswell, but as the CK is still fairly new and as i said somewhat broken folks are seeming to avoid joining teams either in favor of there own work or they dont see a project being completed. Take my own project, i have requested help 3 times on here and not 1 person has replied, i may be fair green on nexus but im not new to modding, that dosnt matter unless people can see and experience your work. I guess i am guilty of doing all of the above, while my project remains unfinished i wont go out of my way to create a mod on request from some one, unless its a tiny little change that takes all of 2 seconds to do.
  4. Its not that people do not want to create quest mods that last upwards of 4 hours take sooooo long, my own project has been going on since the day the CK was out and im still not half way done. Specially with the CK being half broken and hight mapping taking hours and hours then crashing or not working at all makes it even harder to create new world spaces that look good and are playable. In all honesty i think its actually skyrim itself that makes it harder to make quest mods. Unlike oblivion you cant go 2 min's without finding some dungeon, fort or cave, most of which are quest related or have some radient AI quest on them. Skyrim also doesnt feel as big as oblivion, or morrowind, cuz of them things. Creating a large quest mod is a massive under taking for 1 person and forming a mod team, you have to have a good reputation, portfolio of work and a really special idea. I do agree with you though dude.
  5. I put it depends, cuz it really does for me. Would it be you load up the game, click add x to world and had a maximum of 5/10 people per world space so as not to be waiting in a tavern or city so folks can LFG for hours on end, and the most important part for me is would it be moddable and would the mod content be easy accessed in game? and finally if it was free, i will never pay to play a game full of morons and annoying trolls spammin every 3 seconds. Id get it to add a bit of difference if it was free, but other than a novelty i dont think it would hold up to past titles. then again does skyrim hold up to past titles? Maybe a fallout mmo would be better, although not in the style of the last ones. falllout tactics style would be the perfect mmo of its kind, as FT was probly the second best fallout title.

Hehe heya jak, hows work on you rproject comming along? @ 6domino6, nivea and vanyarelf i didnt think the armours were to comlicated either, they are fairly simple even the robed one is simple enough apart from the detail, the chain and the emblems. I know 3d modelers have atough time with demand and how difficult it is to create 3d armour but i am totally useless at it, i can manage to make weapons but clothing is so difficult . Some of the people i have talked to have said the robe being tight fitting would clip with the animation badl, the ranger type (middle pic)and the first pic i do not think these are complicated at all there is nothing to them, i purposly tried to keep those 2 simple. I know some really good tutorials on how to create armours, i may have to take some time to learn how to do it all. I may just learn some texturing and chop and change a few vanilla meshes and retex them. cheers for your input guys
  7. K so i have been doing some sketches recenty for some armours i want creating for my mod, I am still learning how to use maya/3dsmax and i am not good enough to create these armours. I have had nothing but bad luck with model makers atm, 2 friends said they couldnt do it, 1 chap said he could but he has to much on atm to be able to do them all and if i can get them to about 70% done he could finish and texture them for me and tonight i have had 2 outright refuse saying there to complicated for skyrim. Im not sure why i have seen some amazing work on here that people have done that are far more complicated. Attached is 3 pics of the sketche sim talkin about, please be kind im no artist.
  8. Firstly I am not asking for anyone to commit to this on any strict time frame. As i said in the title nothing is outside of the CK, (if you want to add custom items just let me know and if it fits add it). The things i am looking for are: This is the most important one, sorting out the world setting for the custom location, setting up the COC markers so the COC works so the testers and get to the location and test it. Creating some of the interiors for caves, houses ect. creative control over them would be left to who you (these i would rather some one else do so i can enjoy some element of the unknown when i test and play about). This i would prefere to have 2 maybe 3 people working on it so everyone has a chance to enjoy the random element of the mod when its finished. Creation of the NPC's, this one you would have free reign to do as you want with the way 90% of them look, including race, hair ect and equipment. (weapons i have some custom ones being made up and textured, am hoping on a reply from a 3d designer for some armours). The only thing that would not be up for debat is the names of the imporant NPC's. Creating the quests, puzzle maker (these are hard to do im guessing and im not great at them at the best of times). This could be open to mor ethan 1 person. This one you would be working closley with me on so msn or or email communication would be regular and essential. (inbox on here fills to quickly) If you are interested please drop a comment here and i will reply via inbox on on here. Experience isnt really an issue as everyone needs to learn how to do things but some knowledge of the CK is essential as.......well you will be using it. Last but not least a legal copy of skyrim with the newest update installed. Cheers all grimm
  9. A WOT mod would be amazing. The warder cloaks would be amazing, the sword master swords would be amazing, the aiel clothing and weapons would be amazing. Oooo mats weapon to lol. Some of the spells would be cool to. I have always wondered why no one has done a WOT mod before, its a popular series and its really good.

In the last few days i have become fair active on here as my own project is growing fast and have a few conversations with other users going on and i tend to post in bulk, like now, i have done 3 posts not counting this one, but i am getting error: " [#103128] The administrator has limited the number of new posts you can submit within a short time frame. Please wait 60 seconds before replying or posting a new topic. " Is this my doing by doing stuffin bulk or just the way the site does things when your more active than normal? Regards grimm

  14. cool as, if you want the model i have started i can send it you quick enough ill attach a pic here, pics a bit shody but the model is ok, not smoothed or anything like. (EDIT, the pic shows the cleaver i started, if you want it you can have it to, will only get deleted lol) As to the time frame thats cool to im in no rush, i am just seing if folks whos work i like are ok with it being used in my own, as hammers are my fav weapons yours was perfect lol. stay cool dude, grimm
  15. Wow... if you can do that it would be great. I am not sure how popular such a mod would be but I wonder if others would see this as a roleplay thing as well and give you due kudos for that. I suppose you could hope then that a scripter would see you esp file and think, I can do that script to make healers heal. :thumbsup: If you really want to send the guide I could do that myself anyway, but I would feel wrong for putting up the esp file on here for others when really it is your work. Even if I credit you it would still feel like stealing your work. I am willing to go whatever route you feel best with. Soon as i put the kid to bed ill get on with it, lucky i can type atm as he is watching annoying orange and not hammerin the keyboard lol. As to the scripting once the quick change is done ill have a word with a few scripters and se what they can do.
  16. I know that the health regen can be set via the console commands to stop the regen of health. Once i get home ill look into setting it to 0 in the Ck and upload that as an esp for you. If you want or can write you a quick guide so as not to waste time on downloading and such. As to getting the healers to heal you that is done via scripting and i am no good at that atm there are users on here who will sort the scripts out but you would have to ask them, or if you want it as an actual Mod i could ask a few and see if they will compile the script and send it me.   17. Thats what i think is the case, would rather be sure than banned or some such. With it being directly concerned with my project and skyrim, and would help others as his tutorials are really good, i think it should be ok. Some places do have issues with linking outside sites, mainly due to piracy.

As i have said on a past topic my 3d model maker ditched and left me to create the models i need, i found some one to create them for me for free as long as i link his youtube maya/3ds max tutorials. The links would be on the credits of my project once the models are complete along with a thanks for him. Is this ok to do on nexus? I know some places are a bit tetchy about promoting other sites and none users. Cheers grimm
  19. I cannot send you a pm dude so i have to post here. just came across your hammers weapon mod and am astounded that you have created 3 of the hammers i was creating my self for my own work. That said mine look crap compaired to your own as i am new to creating them and was wondering if i may have your mod as a required mod for my own project. i currentl have Belua Sanguinare Revisited as a required mod and am trying to contact xilver to use his midas magic mod. You would be credited and have your work linked on my page here, also if you are using maya/3ds max i an send you what i have done so far and you can have them to add if you like them. as i said im not great at using either of those programs, in truth its slowing my own project down to a snails pace lol. regards grimm
  20. That would be really cool and could have some major uses and being epicly fun. Lifting an NPC and throwing him off a cliff, drowing him, holding him while you burn, freeze or zap him or just the good old smashin the face with an axe. As to dual casting a spell and using a sword i dont think it is possible to do.

It may be possible, i have loaded up some of the skyrim vanilla meshes into maya 2012 and you can edit them, but some are classed as a single object and you cannot select faces or parts you do not like so you can remove them. Dont take that as 100% true for everything just a few robes say they are full items, sadly what i need lol. grimm You mean that the vanilla meshes have part you dont wish to show? in that case, assign an AlphaProperty to the mesh and replace the parts of texture that falls over the mesh you dont wish to show with full transparency. That way the game checks the alpha channel of the texture, and full alpha would mean it wont show that part of the mesh ;) Also, have you tried exporting them from nifskope as an OBJ, then importing them in a 3d editor? that way it should be editable. (at least, i know it would be in Blender..) After that you can replace existing parts of vanilla armor with the edited OBJ in nifskope, so the replaced mesh still uses the rigging of the original mesh. (since it only really changes its appearance, not its function) Right now im looking for that one awesome tutorial that showed what i just said above.. if only i could find it >.> Edit: I give up :( Can't find it :'( Ahhh why did i not think of trying that such a simple thing to do. Exporting for nifscope i already do, just some of the meshes when i try to edit them say Error this is a single object, or something along those lines. That said i can always download blender and try it in that, although i have never used it before, is it a complicated program to use, i mean more so than maya/mudbox/3ds?   23. Single objects are easy enough to be made into a destroyable item, but destructable enviroments is a whole other world. Look at red faction with its Geomod, the only game i can think of off the top of my head with a destructable world space (WS), but near every building is open in the WS and has no interior as such, and what ones do once destroyd you cannot re enter. Doing this in skyrim would be crazy huge and if im honest it would be impossible. Even doing this for trees and them setting alight, imagine your a mage type you throw a few fireballs about and you have instant FPS surge when near trees and when a dragons about near trees and they are burning, smoking, the dragon moving/attacking, the player moving/attacking and the enviroment itself running will hamer the engine. Its a great idea but its impossible so far as i know, not for want of folks trying but engine limitations. grimm
  24. With the arrows causing bleed damage its easy enough to do just using the creation kit. Duplicate an arrow re name it to what ever you want. Then set how long the arrows stay before fading to the same as a bleed damage effect and you have it working and in game soon as it is done. The animations and use of items to get the arrow out will be a lot harder, and that is were my ability to help ends im affraid. Animations and such are not what i can do. let u sknow if you want me to do what i can do. grimm
  25. Sadly, as the title says i have been let down by my 3d modeler and i need help. I can create 3d weapons fairly and with little to no problems but clothing i cannot do at all. In most cases i would forget about these but as the way the NPC's/PC will look is a very importent part of the mod i am working on i need to get the clothing done. I have attached some hand drawn pics of what i wanted to create (please dont be to critical of the sketches i am by no means an artist). After 3 days of trying i cannot get them to work. All credit for creating the models will go to who ever maks them. Sadly i cannot offer cash, i got made redundent.......booooo..... Stay cool guys grimm
