  1. I do not think that this paying for mods on steam will take nexus or any other mod sites away, if you go to bethesda's site quick browsing about and you find them endorsing mods, "Dont miss the new trailer for Midas Magic the follow up to Xilvers popular Oblivon mod, Midas Magic of Aurum. Like what you see? You can download the mod at Skyrim Nexus" Steam i liked at first for the convenience of having my games stored online and not needind dvds but them more i hear about them the more i start to dislike them. EDIT just foudn this on bethblog " Steam Workshop – We’re excited to share news that we’ve been working closely with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop into the Creation Kit. Using the Workshop, you’ll have free user content with the push of a button. The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smartphone. Like a live Netflix queue, when you fire up Skyrim, mods you flagged will be automatically downloaded and installed. Everyone here is really excited about the opportunities and possibilities this opens up for our entire community. Prefer to use existing modding sites? Not a problem. You’ll still be able to upload/share/access Skyrim mods on fan-created mod sites"
  2. ..............why do you not work for bethesda? lol. Again the amazing things people can do that beth seem to either not think of or think is a good idea. Imo from the look of the vid/screenshots this will be the #1 mod for along time. Its defo going to be a must for me, awsome idea and looks like its really well done.
  3. Pure win, saved me the trouble of finding somethin else to do while i wait out the CS. My only 2 beefs with skyrim is how easy it is even on master and the HP regen. Cant belive i didnt think to use the console for that i think ill be setting the hp regen to 0 lol. I used a sneaky archer type as sneak has never worked before and using bows was never really much fun in past titles but there to good, Mage type now so its just that bit more of a *censored* lol
  4. I was hopeing it wouldn't involve scripting, never done it before and always put it off using the "i do landscape and buildings mods" excuse. I think its about time to learn how to do it lol. cheers bud
  5. Once the CS or Ck ,or what ever there calling it now, comes to us would it be possible without scripting, without breaking the game as bards and skalds use L,D,F's, to have them as a weapon and when you attack it switches to a 3rd person view and shows your PC jammin out the tunes they play?
  6. The player homes will probly be released, not that there would be a point on the pc, but other platforms it makes sense. Pc we get the CS or CK so a player home would be pointless really all the ones in oblivion i made a better one myself, despite making the mistake of buying the beth ones. I would love to see a dwemer return would be a cool thing to happen and a dramatic change of pace, lets face it cave crawlin is and was never as harsh as dwemer ruin crawlin. They could have tech way more advanced than steam ect, muskets or flint locks or even mage fire weapons. They could be "WERE BACK AND PI**ED OFF" big war your the saviour end. The thalmor i think are going to be the big one, they invade or breach ther epeace treaty.....which i guess invading would do, the powers that be demand an end to the war between the stormcloacks/imperial army and to join force's to destroy the Thalmor. But bethesda may go a mental direction and do something unexpected.
  7. I.M.O the only crap thing is how quick it levels up. I loved morrowinds half way through the game and your still not past 60 on half your skills but leveling the was pretty useless in morrowind, oblivions was good as skills had a much more important point in being leveled. Skyrims leveling is much to easy i really dislike that aspect of it but the perks.....ah i cant lie i like them, honning a specific aspect of a skill rather than a whole makes the PC more unique. Having it XP based......i'd try it, it could work but the big thing is how much time it would take to re-do the leveling system, i cant see it being a small task, every enemy, quests, weapons, NPC's would need to be changed to give corisponding xp, it would not be un-doable but it would be a major undertaking. One i would support none the less.
  8. So as not to add an edit to an already large text i am adding a second post for the planned land mass, cities, caves/dungeons, tombs and strongholds/ruined strongholds. The cities are all lore friendly, apart from 2 as there is nothing about them i could find. The main cities and main function/type are: Torval - Capital city, home of the false main and a thalmor embassy. Corinthe - No lore. Leader was murdered as he opposed the thalmor, or something along those lines. Dune - Imperial controlled city. Orcrest - No lore. Home of the arena. Rimmen - Ran by a milita after a coup d'etat fight over the planned destruction of the halls of collosus. Riverhold - Main trade route into cyrodiil. Senchal - Port town. So far i have planned the 22 caves and dungeons, 6 tombs, 3 running strongholds and 4 destroyed strongholds. For the land mass i have the Tenmer forest in early planning, the 3 main mountain regions and the grasslands/badlands. For the quests i have 10 for the main story line, including crafting armour and weapons for the partistans, recrouting specialists, a large'ish battle for a fort. Mr.Grim
  9. This is a basic of what I am working on and a call for help on things I cannot do. Please leave comments and criticism so I know what I should work on and what not. K first I’m not the world’s greatest modder; my main area is in the story/ideas/writing rather than the actual creation of a mod. I can use the CS to an extent but I am by no means a master of it. I have no knowledge of scripting it is totally above me, same goes for textures, meshes/models and animations, and so these are what I would like help with. I don’t care about experience and all that crap I want this to become a reality and something people can enjoy, if not I will work around everything on my own using the CS, but I do not think this will be as good unless I have a team to work with. With that out the way my ideas so far are: After the thalmor took control of the khajiit homeland elswyer a group of partisans seek to unite the khajiit under the true Mane (khajiit king). The thalmor made the khajiit believe they restored moons masser and secunda after they vanished for 2 years, this was in fact a plot by the thalmor to gain more territory and enslave the khajiit, they placed a fake Mane and had him pledge to the thalmor. The partisans by chance killed a messenger carrying some vague details of this and outraged and shocked they made their own pledge to kill the imposter and drive the thalmor from their homeland. This is a basic for the story I intend to tell through a mod, I have 4 or 5 quests I am writing and working on now, involving stealth, smithing, murder and a nice big old barny with the thalmor. If you have any interest in helping me then please send me an inbox and I will reply as soon as I read it, also any input on the writing and what not will be received and respected even if a negative, cheers for taken your time to read this. Mr. grim
  10. Keep it fresh or easy, in order to draw the SMS crowd? btw, abundant swearing doesn't make your post any easier to read. Abundant swearing? its some what easier than other tes titles but its still good and im not sure what the SMS crowd is.
  11. The problems with skyrim are nothing people will remeber when the CS comes out. It was the same with oblivion untill OOO, MMM and supreme magika, install those 3 play oblivion for a week, the start again without them and its bland boring and not really very good, why? you played a different game, yeah the engine and the rest may be the same but the basics of the game aint. Skyrim is a good fun game, yeah its flawed but every game is flawed, you cant please everyone, when the CS is out and the flood of mods start commin then it will be a much better experience for those who *censored* and moan. My self i like it, i dont hate anythign about it, i can even understand why bethesda have done what they have done with the skills/journal/compass and the rest of the blah blah blah that folks moan about. They have to keep it fresh and try and get more people interested, yeah it has aspects like failou....fallout 3 but they are things people liked, personally hated fallout 3 was a dire game and a shitty wanna be fallout title. Cinamatic deaths are annoying as hell against a bandit but against a vampire thats killed you twice seing it is slightly satisfying. The new skills system its far to easy to level up and the perks thing is weird but the perks actually work well and leveling a skill has meaning rather than a text box and barley anything different. The short main story.......really play morrowind's main story and you can do it without leveling so thats not an issue really. I can pro and con every aspect people moan about but does it matter? no. me pointing it out make me a troll? no (im no forum trawler so these terms are confusing). Enjoy the game for what it is, everyone else is. bah my mind hurts
  12. Dude thats weird its taking so long your pc is far better than mine, i only have a core 2 due 2.3g, 4g ram and a gt2200 Gcard (my reserve card, my 8800gtx died lol) and i have had no load time problems ever, i takes about 10 seconds to get into the game, and load my save and i have no problems with loading in game ever. Im not a pc wiz but could it be a bad instalation, my gcard is dire and like i said i have no load problems. Hope you find out what it is dude
  13. Thanks for the info, i got it fixed now, which is good seing as my weye mod is moving along nicley. thanks
  14. Hi all, never posted in the forums before as i am fairly competent with TESCS but i am having a problem with wawnet inn having no floor. The mod i am working on does nothing to alter the inn's interior it does add a fence, tables and chairs to the back of the inn. After a quick area test today i entered the inn and there is no floor and you cant move, even with no clip toggle on. The mod i am doing makes the area of weye to be a bit better than what it is in the vanilla, i added 2 houses with fencing/walls and a well next to the inn (nothing moved but a tree) and using Carahs Caravan mod (possible the best caravan mod there is) added the caravan across from the inn. I am running a hefty number of mods, i use BOSS to set load orders and im fair handy at fixing minor conflicts, but what is causing this i have no idea at all.
