  1. Is there a site/soundcloud profile where we can listen to all music tracks made for Skywind so far?
  2. In response to post #35671887. #35672757, #35679497, #35679607, #35682292, #35688192, #35691732, #35694017, #35705767, #35705772, #35718412, #35719092, #35755680, #35764965 are all replies on the same post. Pontless? I beg to differ. Morrowind is a fantastic game (albeit with its own faults), and I would definitely recommend people to play through it before Skywinds release.

Let`s just...simplify. Favored - whom did you make your mods for? Did you make them for yourself because you wanted something like that in your game and, once it was done, were satisfied? If so, all the trolls in the comments shouldn`t have bothered you at all. AT ALL. I had my dealings with people like that and I shrugged it off - I was happy with my mod. *I* enjoyed it because *I* made it for *MYSELF*. I uploaded it because I thought others might like it as well. Some did, some didn`t. And that`s totally fine with me. I took the CC, thanked those who were nice, helped out where help was needed and that`s it. Period. If, however, you did your mod for some other reason (recognition, "fame", whatever) - that was a major flaw to begin with. Sorry, buddy. That being said, I do wish you all the best. Really. You`ve shown us some mad skills. Just remember to enjoy modding for yourself again.
  4. Dark0ne, I have question. There used to be a donate button on my mods. And now it`s gone. What happened?
  5. All this talk about "death of the community" is a bit overdramatic. The community will not die out. This whole thing is actually a good thing - a "purge", so to say. Some people will go pay-per-mod, some will remain free. The first will make and update mods with intention of making money. Others for fun and learning. And that`s it. As long as there are moddable games, there will be modders. And there will always be modders who do it *just* for fun. So, to the first - good luck. You have your own reasons for doing so. Can`t say I respect the integrity of your decision, but the decision is yours. To everybody else - lets go have fun and make awesome mods.
  6. In response to post #24617454. #24618439 is also a reply to the same post. "My main concern is the payout ratio since it is so one-sided. " Then your decision should be pretty clear and simple. You want to earn more than 25%. Tell it as it is.
  7. Here`s how I see it. as a modder. I too have spent hours on my mods. Hours. DAYS. And I would never charge for them. Donations are OK (as they are totally optional), but I would never charge. Why? Simple. NOBODY FORCED ME TO MAKE MY MODS. Nobody forced me to spend all those hours making them. It was entirely MY decision made knowing full well I do it for fun and practice and NOT PROFIT. It is THAT simple. So all the "Jeez, I spent so much time, and now I could make money, I`m torn" talk just dosen`t fly with me. Sorry guys. Time to get real tho.
  8. So...no other way to restore picture thumbnails? Oh well...I was due for a fresh Windoze installation...I`m just surprised at myself, I`m ALWAYS super careful with these things. *sigh*
  9. UNP user here. The body shape is much more realistic. And I`m not interested in having my warriors have bouncy b00bs. There are...other sources for that sort of enjoyment. :P Am looking forward to Calypses upcoming body mod, should he choose to release it. What would be interesting is voting based on gender. Which one is more preferred by female, and which by male players... ;)
  10. Yup, these sure do look sweet. It would be a pleasure to use them in game  And yea, +1 on releasing this one under your name. I`ll never understand this weird thing where people who port and combine mods get more votes, comments and endorsements than actual mod makers... :whistling:
  11. I agree with most statements here. The problem is, people get overambitious without realizing just how much time, effort and knowledge is needed to create something. Something SIMPLE, mind you. So, whenever I see a thread like "Remake" or "Whole new game" or "Overhaul"...I just know that usually it will end badly. My own example - I started with hairs. Very simple, plain hairs. And even tho I do have some prior knowledge when creating textures and meshes (I used to be something of a veteran modder myself, but for another game), it`s been hard. And slow. But, I`m learning. One thing at a time. Once I finish this mod...maybe I`ll try some simple weapons? And then, maybe, some clothing items...and eventually a full armor set? I don`t know, but I do know it takes time. It always takes time. But people nowadays...they just don`t seem to get it. :armscrossed:
  12. Oh, well, I`m afraid you`ll have to wait a bit longer. I`m planning to create 2 more hairstyles (to have a set of 5), but first I have to figure out what they will look like. I know I need an "assassin" type of hair, so I`ll probably try to make something like that next. Then the fifth hairstyle. And then the CK. :psyduck: So, roughly...a month?
  13. Ok...warrior. Which dosen`t look like a warrior hairstyle...at all. So, I`ll probably rename "Ranger" into "Adventurer", and this one into "ranger". Great plan, right? I also discovered 2 things - 1) Vanilla hairstyles have bad weighting. Well, some of them. I remade the "Adventurer" hair mesh several times b/c I always had flying vertices when changing weight. I finally just renamed the .nif file to replace another one (as these are all still replacers) and the problem was gone. So, yea...sometimes it`s not your fault. Good to know, eh? 2) Found a way to have blend alphas in hair textures making them look smooth, and not change color in certain lighting conditions (like Apachiis hair). Problem is - SLSF2_Assume_Shadowmask in Shader flags 2 creates another problem - sometimes hair line turns invisible in certain conditions. This setting is usually used in short cropped vanilla hairstyles, and they too have the same problem. I don`t know if there is much that can be done about it. Anyways, off to tweaking textures some more. If it turns out my UVMap is bad...well then, I`m screwed, aren`t I? :psyduck: Also, about the name - How does "Lore Styles" sound to you? Think it`s fitting?
  14. Humm...well, I guess it could be possible. I saw 2 mods that do something similar - a quest mod in which one part takes place in a whole black and white environment. Another mod that transforms you into something like a "Spawn" type warrior (a spell). But for the life of me, I can`t remember what their names are ... :psyduck:
  15. I can`t believe this discussion even started... Mod authors can name or tag their mods as they see fit. Period. If that prevents you from downloading...well, tough luck. I mean, no offence, guys, but I usually see this kind of odd complaints from people who are NOT moddres. C`mon...next up, people complaining about that one triangle in your mesh that isn`t symmetrical, or that one pixel in your texture that`s oddly colored...
  16. You will need following programs - a 3D modeling application ( 3DStudioMax (pay) or Blender (free) ) a texture editing application ( Adobe Photoshop (pay) or Gimp (free) ) NifScope official Bethesta Creation Kit (optional) BSA file unpacker (like Fallout Mod Manager) -lots of time, patience, trials and errors.
  17. @Nivea - I am, eventually, but that might take some time. I want to make this set first, and with each style taking approx. 10 days to make (as these are made from scratch an not ports, PLUS I haven`t even started dragging them through CK...I`m really not looking forward to that),I`m afraid things are going steady, but rather slow. :turned:
  18. @jet4571 &Sunnie - Thanks guys. Or, guy and girl. Ranger finished. Sort of. I`ll retouch the textures just to pull out a bit more detail, but this is about 95% done. I hope. Next up - Warrior.
  19. And one week later...officially declaring a "back on track" status. Remade the mage hairstyle. Changed the mesh. Then had to change the textures. And rigging. And position...and before I knew it, I ended up with practically a whole new mesh. I just love it when 1 vertice or 1 pixel trigger my OCD... :psyduck: Next up - continuing to work on Ranger.
  20. Check the alpha channel in your normal map - if it`s white, model will appear glossy in game. The darker it is, less shine is applied.
  21. @Havok10K - Ah, I see, you`re not making mods...and yet, you feel quite competent to complain about the "sub-par" standard of all the work others are making. And all the hours they/we spend on making them so that others can enjoy them. You included. Lovely. Just lovely. Also - why don`t you learn how to mod? That is just...well, pure laziness! That is one class A trolling act you have going on here, kind sir.
  22. Ok...here`s the thing...whether a mod maker decides to make a standalone or replacer mod...is entirely his/her own decision. Don`t like it - don`t download it. OR...you do like it, but it`s not a standalone? Make your own for your own amusement. After all, you said one shouldn`t be lazy...right? :whistling:
  23. @jet4571 - What you refer to as "pure laziness" might actually be a case of lacking knowledge when it comes to handling CK. There`s lots of new modders (myself included) who want to create something, release it and get some feedback. And then, eventually, create a standalone mod. So, you know...give us some time. And try to see things from another perspective every now and then, m`kay?
  24. @Razor444 - That`s Photoshopped. A shorter version of this (shown in other screenshots) is a part of Apachii`s hair pack.
  25. @smeden_nils - Thank you. Glad you`re enjoying what you see here. Just a quick update (if anyone cares) - due to unforeseen circumstances (death in family) I have to take a 1 week break, but in the next update I`ll share some information on working with .nif files in Nifscope, which settings to apply, what to look for etc. See you guys and girls in one week.
