  1. Tasheni, I am not that good at sandboxes and CK in general, but I know FLP has a similar feature. Wandering followers can be scheduled to visit an inn nearby while being wandering.

     

    And just to let you know. I admire the very direction of your studies. What you want to do with your followers, the possibilities you wish to give them (and already gave them) is exactly what I am dreaming of.

  2. What could be the cause for a custom armor looking distorted when equipped by an NPC of a custom race, while the same armor looks absolutely normal on vanilla races NPCs?

     

    When compared to other (similar) pieces of armor it shows no differences. Everything looks okay: weight slider, default race as a RNAM, additional races.

     

    Skeleton? HDT? But it's a pretty simple mesh - weist belt actually - with only 5 NiNodes: Pelvis, both Thighs, Spine, and Spine1. My guts tell me it's a miserable issue, and I just can't see the cause which lies on a surface.

  3. Have you found any info on this matter yet?

    I am in a search of a method as to how to edit furniture, namely Cot (CivilWarCot01) so that to reposition actor, translate actor downwards by Z. Cot's collision makes an actor float over the sufrace of a cot. I succeeded in obtaining a few tips like that it's a matter of collision. And Object Bounds is I suspect could be useful.

  4. I noticed some mountains look normally, while others not. Like in this picture: Hight Hrothgar is probably a more distant object compared to other mountains (I guess), and it has too rough contours. What might be the cause of that, and how to fix that? Thank you.

  5. Just noticed NPCs have no twig in their hand, when they are supposed to perform animation with a twig in their right hand. Can't recall the name of that idle, can't find it in CK. It's when they warm hands crouching near the campfire, and go to roast some food attached to a twig. Sorry for my English. Just tell me if you know something about that, Okay? Thanks.

  6. ...I was messing around in my Windows 7 "speakers properties" (search: "Manage Audio Devices," then open the active speakers' properties). Under the "enhancements" tab, I clicked something called "Virtual Surround,"...

    In my case it helped, but just for a couple of days when there was not a single sound cut-off indeed. Yet today the dialogue cut-offs resumed. I checked my Windows7 Speaker Properties, and the Virtual Surround is still ON. What's going on? I've never been experiencing such issues during the ages of playing Skyrim on my laptop. These sound gaps emerged a month or two ago.

  7. Hi everybody! I need a piece of advice here.


    I am using 'Armor and Clothing for Kids' mod which changes RNAM - Armor Race to Default Race so that every piece of armor (default and custom) should be available for Child races to wear. The problem is when I try to add a separate armor addon specified for Children Races (as Additional Races), this addon doesn't show up, and children 'prefer' a default race armor addon to put on. I can see it by the neck seam.

  8. Guys, I am at a loss. I recently noticed a huge gap between forearms and hands when in 1st person:

    As I'm not completely new to editing body and armor meshes I firstly got an idea of an armor I was wearing at that moment was a culprit. But the gap is present even with no armor on. This means I got a problem with one of the very basic character assets, i.e. 1stpersonmalebody or/and 1stpersonmalehands.

     

    I checked those out, they seem alright. None of the mods goes overriding these assets. I am using Race Menu, XPMSE32 along with bodies based on Better Males. I checked better males and vanilla 1st person body/hands meshes on compatibility, they perfectly fit together.

     

    Apart from those I am using Immersive First Person View. And of course, there's no slightest seam when in Immersive First Person View, the gap shows up only when in regular 1st person view.

     

    A bit tangled things. I hope you can help me to sort them out.

  9. I hate being involved into a dirty job, or messing up with scum people. So, trying to avoid "dirty quests" has become a sort of meta-quest for me. With all the possibilities of open world, unlimited sandboxing, and other gorgeous things that Bethesda offers to a gamer (mostly to a modder, not a gamer) in Skyrim, I am suffering from the lack of psychological aspects in quests. Actually I think Bethesda is trying to vaporize a deeper insight and swap it out for murder and betrayal challenge.

  10. Recently I encountered a problem which may sound ridiculous. But I really don't know what to do.

     

    When I came back to Lakeview Manor after a long jorney, I couldn't find my steward. I am pretty sure I have one of my followers as a steward, I remember me giving some orders to him/her before departure. I've been off for quite a long time, and I deleted all the saves belonging to that period - shame on me. The things only get worse, because I have a dozen follower, including custom followers from different mods, some of them are wondering, others have been released during this time. None of those waiting for me in Lakeview Manor when I'm back have the steward dialogue, Rayya have no such a dialogue, other inhabitants the same. I am using a mixture of different follower mods, including Increased Follower Limit, FLP, MHIYH, RDO, FCO and other mods. That's make it dificult to track back the story.

     

    Just give me a hint how can I find out who's taking the position of steward currently. Is it possible to learn?

  11. I'm not sure if this will help, but right click in the grey void (or optionally go to File > Preferences), and select "Render Window Properties". go to the "Shaders" tab and make sure the "Shadows" check box has a check mark in it.

     

    For a while I couldn't even get shadows to display in the CK.

     

    You might also have to restart the CK for the changes to be made, so hit "apply">"Ok", exit, and then restart it.

    Hello from 2018.

     

    The same way I can't get shadows to display. Looks like changes I make don't save.

    What I do, I go to Preferences>Shaders and tick Shadows box on, then press "Apply", then "Close" the Preferences window. When I open it again, the box is "unticked".

  12. I'm not a 100% sure, but lights often look badly if one doesn't do the following: Edit your light reference, go to "Light Data" and set Shadow Depth Bias to "Default" or at least more than 1.0

    Thank you for the tip. Default (2.0) is probably too small value though. I my case 11+ look sufficient.

     

    It's a pity I can't enable shadow rendering for some reason. So I can't see shadows in CK, can't play with them. Actually it 's a really bad thing.

    Bethesda Tutorial Lights and FX reads:

    Shadow rendering must also be enabled in the preferences. File->Preferences->Shaders, check the box for shadows, click apply.

    This procedure doesn't give any result, shadows do not appeare, and the box called "Shadows" turns to be unchecked once I open Preferences>Shaders again.

  13. I've noticed in some interiors the shadow look pretty ugly, kind of a dirt, mesh-like shadow everywhere:

    It's called a visual "striping" artifacts.

    I suspect there's a particular culprit, a lightsource or two lightsources conflict. But I have no idea what it really is.

    Once I knew the culprit I would be able to fix it on my own for each and every interior I am not happy with.

    I suspect the mods' like ELFX authors know how to fix it, please, let me know if you are one of them, or you simply know what I am talking about here.

  14. I hope there's some people who know how to Remove Duplicate Vertices harmlessly.

    The model looks broken in CK after I use it on feet meshes, inspite of the fact I use Make All Skin Partitions batch spell trying to restore the partition data.

     

    I am trying to edit Hi Poly malefeet from HPM- High Poly Male Meshes mod. These nifs contain an incredibly huge amount of duplicated vertices.   15. How to force weapon (scabbards, dagger etc) not to show up with a particular armor? For example, I do not want NPC to wear a dagger in combination with bikini, but I do want them to have a dagger in their inventory. Which slot should I add to bikini mesh and AA in CK in order to keep a beach girl from looking like bikini-Commando? Thanks.
