  1. I had this problem with the Mirelurk Queen spawning inside Murkwater every single time I went there. The simple answer is to set up one or more Heavy Laser Turrets where the Raiders spawn. I have 2 HLTs outside the entrance to Covenant and the Raiders are usually dead before I see them.
  2. That's interesting about the mods being turned off. I used to have that problem and I lost loads of work but when NMM was updated a few weeks ago all the mods worked again and nearly everything I had lost returned. It was quite amazing because I was at the Red Rocket and suddenly realised that all the rubble had disappeared so I ran to Sanctuary and found that the Sanctuary Restored pre war mod hadcfibally worked and it was totally restored. Bit like Pleasantville.
  3. The only advantage they have to me is that they are free. When I encounter a Synth I use the Spray N Pray and it dispatches them pretty quickly. I used to have a laser sniper rifle which was pretty lethal but I don't think it was an Institute weapon.
  4. For myself one odd thing happened after I disabled the famous corpse at Spectacle Island, though I don't know if it was the cause. I lost the ability to travel to the island by ANY means. Whether I fast travelled or swam there the game had a CTD. I googled the problem and though lots of people had the problem nobody seemed to have found the solution. Even when I had to "help defend Spectacle Island" I couldn't and happiness went down to zero percent.
  5. Same here. I tried using it in one battle and soon realised I was going to die so I replaced with the Spray N Pray then dumped it in a trunk.
  6. There didn't seem any point in marking for delete as all I wanted to do was not be able to see them. Also I did them back when I first started using console commands and didn't want to do too much and risk ruining something. I tried to disable the fallen floor at Egret Tours Marina and disabled the entire building !
  7. On my first (very long) playthrough I simply let the number of settlers build up to the max and provided enough beds and facilities for them. Happiness was up and down all the time and sometimes dropped as low as 10%. On my second playthrough I have limited the number of settlers to about 12 and happiness is 80%+ everywhere. I never get complaints about not enough beds either. This time round I have provided showers and toilets at each settlement but I don't know if that is a factor.
  8. If you are on PC you can use the "disable" console command. I have downloaded rdunlap's "Croup Manor Restored" and I think it may remove them but not sure as I had already disabled them.
  9. Thanks for your reply. However in the second case with the mongrel I was very careful to target it and and use a Gauss rifle so there was no chance of the guard being hit. In future I will just let her die. Another bizarre thing happened at Croup Manor - it was strafed by a Vertibird and my 15 settlers went chasing it. I have given 2 of them miniguns and the rest high powered laser rifles and they are all in full combat armour so it turned into a hell of a fight until the vertibird was brought down. One settler was injured but when she recovered Curie started chasing her and shooting her, yelling robot sounding stuff like "termination protocol initiated!". The settler would run off screaming and Curie would nearly kill her then she would start looking for her again. It was pretty entertaining !
  10. Cait comments on it all the time. My favourite comment was from Paladin Danse who , when I stepped out of my power armour in front of Mama Murphy and forgot I was naked underneath it, said "Put some clothes on, you're embarrassing us !"
  11. Spectacle Island is nice if you use rdunlap's mod which rebuilds the hotel. I have completely refitted it as a hotel and it looks pretty sweet. Similarly if you use his mod for Jamaica Plain it opens up the boarded up house which otherwise is just a waste of space.
  12. On my first playthrough I dumped Curie as I found her a bit boring but on my second I have kept her enough to romance her. Something which happens around her is strange though. The first time was at Saugus Ironworks, when a firefight erupted between some caravan guards and the Forged. I accidentally shot at a female guard with grey hair and Curie started shooting at me, then a window opened "Send Curie to - list of settlements". I loaded a previous save and the same thing happened again. And a third. Fourth time I just walked away. Last night the same caravan guard was being attacked by a mongrel and I went over to help, shot it through the head and the guard opened fire on me ! Curie didn't shoot but again I was asked to send her to a settlement. What's this all about ?
  13. I think mine was Breakout in 1980. My first favourite game was Galaxian the arcade game where I could max the machine out. My first "modern" game was Far Cry which I got bundled with a PC in 2005. Loved the whole Far Cry series ever since, esp Far Cry 2.
  14. Hi everybody, I only got into Mods this week with mixed results. I downloaded one today where the creator said it may cause the game to crash if you fast travel to South Boston. I disabled it in NMM and the problem cleared. After I reopened the game though it appears that all of my 2 days work with Spring Clean and possibly all the other mods has been undone and in effect I have wasted 2 days. All the other mods show a green tick so why has this happened ? I realise this may be a stupid noob question to some of you but I want to know so that it doesn't happen again.
