  1. Posts like Arethias are useless to me. Don't make them here. Not interesting in nay-saying bulls***. I know what is causing me problems. Skyrim has multiple issues, always did... SSE looks like it's introduced new issues that even experienced modders have found to be brand new. I can get ctd's without any mods installed, but they are rare (in fact USEEP fixes a lot of them, but itself introduced a couple new ones only recently fixed) I notice for example, that running the new frostfall alone will get me multiple crashes compared to the original. Wet and Cold also has caused me a number of CTDs. It looks like any mod with "cloaking scripts" - scripts that affect the player character that continually run in the background - are causing increased CTDs with SSE. I am not a modder familiar with Skyrim, so I'm not sure why this is. Though a part of me thinks the SKSE must have either purposefully or inadvertently made scripts run smoother. Yet this IS happening across the board. Mods that I've noticed causing issues in this game so far? Footsteps, Wet and Cold, ANY of the Sands of Time mods... Immersive Citizens/Armor I used to be able to run so many of these together in Oldrim, but not SSE. I'm tempted to go back to Oldrim myself... but for some reason I can't find myself doing it. (Am stubborn) Just because turning Frostfalls off doesn't stop your crashes doesn't mean it wouldn't have caused you more. It just means your current crashes are not frostfall related (though it could add to them)
  2. hmm still getting crashes with frostfall on, and turning off the majority of my other scripting mods ( I think). I've turned off all my HD mods except for character models I'm running Magic Duel, Frostfall, Smilodon, Immersive Armors, two populated mods (Towns/roads), RDO, Realistic Conversations. Immersive citizens and one or two others. But... my computer is a beast, I never had these issues in Oldrim when the game was just released and I'm fairly sure I had even more mods. Frostfall seems to be bugged. (I rolled back to an earlier version of Frostfall, and my game doesn't crash at all). So while I'm sure there is a lot to be said for your posts (thank you !) they don't seem to be specifically related to THESE crashes.
  3. thanks for that. I'll turn half of those off, mostly flavor mods. Frostfall has a major impact on gameplay though I want that.
  4. hmmm, then I guess I'll turn off Wet and cold and Enhanced Blood and give Frostfall a shot then. Any other script heavy mods on my list?
  5. Interestingly enough my crashes stopped when I turned off (ingame) Frostfall. I've posted something on the frostfall page for chesko, not sure what the issue is. (Could be scripting, could be conflicts, I'd wait to hear from Chesko after I figure out where to upload my save)
  6. Teeny bit about me - I've modded TONS of games and am fairly good at following instructions, I think I've got most of the basic conflicts already dealt with, but if you see any please let me know. I'm going through my mods one by one at the moment because of the following... So... I'm freezing in game constantly, this is in and out of combat.. in and out of cities/dungeons and the like. Sometimes it occurs in the same place, sometimes it doesn't. Due to my limited Skyrim modding experience it's hard for me to figure out which is doing what. I'm NOT using a bashed patch, and I've looked into wyre somewhat, which seems to me to combine conflicting mods so they are able to load with a minimum of issues. I'm trying to avoid that by overriding some issues and just avoiding some mods completely. (If I must use wyre because of known existing issues between these mods, please let me know... I'll learn what I need to on my own) However, I've got a couple of quest mods/big mods that could have conflicting issues i'm unaware of. (which is why i'm reading up on each of my mods - note, I read everything about a mod before I install it, so it's unlikely it was a known issue with an individual mod when I installed it, but doesn't mean something has popped up in the interim) From my EXTENSIVE modding experience in other games (which also tells me I should just maybe learn how to use wyre), what it feels like to me is that I'm either stressing my system out too much (am running near constantly at 30 fps in crowded areas, but regularly 50-60 outside of them) or having some major scripting mod conflicts. I restarted a game after these crashes popped up there, and I figured either I uninstalled a mod which broke things, or installed one... or it's something that just appeared after multiple days. I've also had this issue occur after having most of my mods off until after Helgen (because of conflicts with Opening Scene Overhaul which I find is a must-have mod, though because of it i'm thinking of using LAL until I've isolated these bugs) Skyrim.esm=1Update.esm=1Dawnguard.esm=1HearthFires.esm=1Dragonborn.esm=1Campfire.esm=1Gray Fox Cowl.esm=1Falskaar.esm=1arnima.esm=1Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp=1ClimatesOfTamriel.esm=1ApachiiHair.esm=1TravellersOfSkyrim.esm=1ApachiiHairMales.esm=1ApachiiHairFemales.esm=1LongerDurationsandAnnoyanceFixes.esp=1blackreachrailroadnew.esp=1Dwemer Storage Cube.esp=1BlackthornManor.esp=1Reverb and Ambiance Overhaul - Skyrim.esp=1Ars Metallica.esp=1Tel Mithryn.esp=1Black Mage Armor SE.esp=1Castle Volkihar Rebuilt.esp=1Darkwater Crossing.esp=1DiverseDragonsCollectionSE.esp=1Dragon Claw Stands.esp=1Frostfall.esp=1Gildergreen Regrown.esp=1Skaal Village.esp=1Karthwasten.esp=1Kynesgrove.esp=1CarryOnSkyrimBenAsFollowerV2.2.esp=1Shor's Stone.esp=1Raven Rock.esp=1Soljund's Sinkhole.esp=1The Paarthurnax Dilemma.esp=1WheelsOfLull.esp=1Whistling Mine.esp=1WetandCold.esp=1forgottencity.esp=1Immersive Sounds - Compendium.esp=1Housecarls Have Lives.esp=1MagicalCollegeOfWinterhold.esp=100MarzWindhelmHome.esp=1ShezrieOldHroldanVer2.esp=1JK's Riverwood.esp=1BloodmoonRising.esp=1Better Harvesting.esp=1SPTDiverseGuardsSkyrimSE.esp=1TheScarlett.esp=1HoldBorderBanners.esp=1NotSoFast-MainQuest.esp=1PeopleAreStrangers.esp=1UnreadBooksGlow.esp=1AcquisitiveSoulGemMultithreaded.esp=1Populated Cities Towns Villages Legendary.esp=1Thunderchild - Epic Shout Package.esp=1Realistic-Voice.esp=1No BS AI Projectile Dodge (Magic and Arrows) - Immersive Projectiles Nondetection of Enemies.esp=1ThievesGuildLadder.esp=1Artifacts.esp=1No NPC Greetings.esp=1YOT - Frostfall Module.esp=1Populated Lands Roads Paths Legendary.esp=1Forgotten DungeonsSSE.esp=1Bring Out Your Dead.esp=1Cutting Room Floor.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives.esp=1YOT - Your Own Thoughts.esp=1Unique Uniques.esp=1Helarchen Creek.esp=1Footprints.esp=1MagicDuelReborn.esp=1Whistle.esp=1Ivarstead.esp=1CultofAgnar.esp=1MoonAndStar_MAS.esp=1Silverstead.esp=1Clockwork.esp=1QaxeQuestorium.esp=1JKs Whiterun.esp=11nivWICCloaks.esp=1NPCs Protected and Uncapped.esp=1NPCs Protected Redux - CRF.esp=1HearthfireMultiKid.esp=1HearthfireMultiKid_LastName.esp=1Storefront.esp=1LADX_SSE.esp=1dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp=1dD-No Screen Blood.esp=0Halls Of Dovahndor SSE.esp=1UndeadFX.esp=1Blowing in the Wind.esp=1Beards.esp=1MoreBrains.esp=1The Haven From The Cold And Dark.esp=1reflection-levelupmessages.esp=1Armes d'Auriel.esp=1ExtraBlades.esp=1Immersive Jewelry.esp=1Beasts of Tamriel.esp=1SGEyebrows.esp=1Dawnguard Delayed - Level 50.esp=1True Eyes SE.esp=1VioLens SE.esp=1VioLens SE - Book Menu.esp=1MoreVampireEyes.esp=1CRF - Lighting Overhaul.esp=1Imperious - Races of Skyrim.esp=1ImprovedDaedricArtifacts.esp=1Daedric Dawnbreaker.esp=1Open Cities Skyrim.esp=1SofiaFollower.esp=1SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esp=1Recorder Follower Base.esp=1Inigo.esp=1AmazingFollowerTweaks.esp=1Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp=1Immersive Citizens - OCS patch.esp=1MLU.esp=1JK's Whiterun-Open cities SSE.esp=1JKs Whiterun exterior.esp=1Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim.esp=1icepenguinworldmap.esp=1Semi-Open Guard Helmets SE.esp=1SimplyBiggerTreesSE.esp=1Civil War Ambushes.esp=1Civil War Commander And Extended.esp=1Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.esp=1Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp=1Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Exteriors.esp=1Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp=1Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dawnguard Interiors.esp=1SuperbSerana.esp=1TravellersOfSkyrim - Vanilla.esp=1Dr_Bandolier.esp=1TravellersOfSkyrim - Dragonborn and Bags and Pouches Addon.esp=1Helgen Reborn.esp=1DragonsKeep.esp=1Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp=1Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp=1Immersive Patrols II.esp=1Increased Enemy Spawns - 3x.esp=1Increased Enemy Bosses - 2x.esp=1MLU - Immersive Armors.esp=1tpos_ultimate_esm.esp=1WARZONES - SSE - Civil Unrest.esp=1Fantasy Soundtrack Project.esp=1Fantasy Soundtrack Project - Combat.esp=1SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp=1Blowing in the Wind - SMIM Merged All Patch.esp=1beltfastenedquivers.esp=1FewerPredators.esp=1Dragonborn Needed to Fight Dragons.esp=150 More Perk Points.esp=1Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim.esp=1WICO - Immersive People.esp=1WICO - Immersive Dawnguard.esp=1WICO - Immersive Character.esp=1MLU - WICO.esp=1MLU - Unique Uniques Patch.esp=1MLU - Improved Daedric Artifacts.esp=1MLU - Ars Metallica Patch.esp=1Original Opening Scene.esp=1WICO OPS Patch.esp=1Diversity - An NPC Overhaul.esp=1Smilodon - Realistic Damage.esp=1Better Vampires.esp=1
  7. why not use AFT? That seems fairly minimal and widely used/tested to me.
  8. I lost interest in what you have to say when diverse became a bad word in your lexicon.
  9. Those should all be compatible with the right updates. Just make sure they are updated (dont trust NMM) and read each mod's load order. I run every single one of those and about 60 more so...
  10. AFAIK it's the same as vanilla.
  11. I agree that a Delay Cultist Mod (similar to delay vampires) would be great.
  12. well there is no master - compatible mods list yet unfortunately so it's test and error. Honestly I'm using... 128 active mods atm. I've had some issues in some specific locations and had to isolate which mod is causing what problem. A lot of these mods like weather mods, flora mods, texture mods are NOT compatible but that doesn't mean they will instantly crash. Some modify the same assets and you can just choose which mod to use which assets for. For textures this is mostly okay, but i'm unsure if the same can be said for re-meshing mods like SMIM. For weather mods I specifically only use compatible ones because I don't know how everything is triggered. You seem to be approaching it in the same vein as myself, which is the only way. I'm starting my second playthrough now after my last got corrupted by Open Cities (it's really buggy right now unfortunately, or SEEMS as so, and is barely compatible with most mods that change behavior in cities and... weird things happen) It's a shame as it's one of the more awesome mods in terms of actual immersion for me. I tried to avoid it by removing open cities, but... I screwed up and even waiting in a dungeon for 30 days caused me to lose over 200 npcs to random world-space errors and deaths.
  13. I'm making this post because I went to post a specific Open Cities error on that thread, but unfortunately the author has locked the post. Which is a great shame. It looks as though there were too many people with errors and some of those are legitimate, some of those are related to other mods, and some of those are because people are impatient and don't read warnings/readmes. Well I had very real issues regarding the gate at Whiterun being locked AFTER I got in, and essentially locking me in (or out). I can cheat and open the gate (which I did) or teleport but... still. I'm not even sure it's specifically Open Cities, but since it's the only mod I'm running that edits that worldspace, it's likely related. I hope the author re-opens his thread because I'm unfortunately going to start a new game without Open Cities for now until I can communicate at least with other users about the issues. It's early days, there are going to be problems with mods, the game, and even the people using mods. Patience is required by all, but most essentially by the modders. Getting frustrated with new people using your mods is not helpful to anyone! Especially when some of the issues in the thread are claimed by the author to not be related, while others are saying "but it's the only mod I'm using that edits..." Now I never modded Skyrim, but surely people talking about issues and trying to solve them is better than just shutting down any conversation? I mean... it's not like it's going to HURT the mod. Open Cities was notoriously buggy in Skyrim, to the point where I actively avoided it. Now that we've got an SSE that will allow us to use it without the inbuilt issues the author throws a hissy fit at us? I don't want to shame him, because that wont encourage him to open the thread (though it's definitely immature) and instead hope that others who want answers and appreciate the work like myself will encourage him. (Ex-modder myself, so I know what I'm talking about! - I've got mods I created over 6 years ago still being played and updated by others today! Yes, I left the scene because of the time requirements and a lot of issues I'm sure this modder is facing)
  14. man when I try to spawn large forces for fights I start getting floating NPCS who don't seem to have their ai turned on.
  15. Oh is that who they are? I assumed it was a hagraven and a vampire in the background LOL
  16. Am I insane? Running 96 mods atm for SE. No idea if they are all compatible (have multiple follower mods/ ordinator/spell mods... additional villages mods) Man, I remember when Skyrim came out, modding was fairly easy there were so few of them and I knew what they all did. Now having to relearn all of that. I did check about 50 of them in Wyre bash and they at least didnt pop up any errors (unless I forgot what I'm doing there too). I wish we had a master list of original mods we could use too, but the other thread became a bit... contentious.
  17. Are you guys using CBBE with Bijin or any other mod pack like that? or just plain?
  18. My policy with modding is simple. If it's a change I can make myself in less than an hour... then learn to do it myself. Honestly modding is not as tough as you may think!
  19. I know the feeling. I've spent more time collecting mods (and going through old Skyrim ones). I honestly stopped playing Skyrim over three years ago when my ex started playing (I just watched her play then lol...) and now getting back into it.
  20. blah i'm already logged in but can't download the mods I was trying to - Server unreachable -
