  1. Small feedback: It would be good if a new category for mod videos (not reviews, not interviews, but instead just showing off the mod, e.g. previews) was added. Right now they fall under "General" which is ... too broad.
  2. In response to post #8293801. #8294848 is also a reply to the same post. I ticked that box a long time ago, but yeah, still 60-70 % of all visible images on Nexus are of skimpy and anime girls. The "filter" system for the image section as it is now is basically useless. For me it's not about kids not viewing this, it's about that I simply don't like that kind of material. I'm not interested in looking at images I find perverted or weird. I personally like nice, normal scenery shots - similar to Bethesda's official screenshots - which is almost impossible to find unless you want to click through pages of panties and boobs first. As good as it is that you can block files on the Nexus, I think it's just as important to be able to block images. Right now the only option is to not to look at images at all.
  3. Good, thanks. But what about images? I very rarely visit the image section anymore because it makes me want to throw up. It would be so much better if images had tags or more detailed categories than the most commonly used "aethestics". That way people could block certain types of images they don't like (for instance skimpy, anime images which is like 60-70 % of all images on Nexus or something?).
  4. I have two ideas that I think would be useful. They mainly come from my own experiences. I am developing a huge weather mod and every now and then I upload images of it on my Nexus profile. The images have gotten a lot of attention and I see a lot of familiar people commenting and endorsing each image. So, if you're developing a mod which isn't released yet, I think two things would be useful in this case: 1) to be able to track a specific account, so you can get noticed whenver they upload a new image, a new file, etc. If you like what a person does, this could be really useful to be able to follow developments. 2) to be able to release modder articles, so you can tell everyone that visits your Nexus profile how for instance mod development is going. This could be useful when a file isn't uploaded yet. It can serve both as a form of telling news, and as a form of asking questions, having polls, etc. which people can comment on and share their feedback on. This would work like file mod articles. Although, this can be misused. It can be misused by people posting random articles that really has nothing to do with any mod development. However, I see no harm in this, since it's only shown on your Nexus profile and you can already post what random things you want in your "about me" page. Still, a solution to such misuse could be that you first have to start a hidden (non-published) mod page, and then add articles to that hidden mod, which in turn you can decide to be visible on your Nexus profile. That way, you'd have to connect articles to a mod, which would most likely remove most possible misuses. Not only would these things help everyone to follow people mod developments much, much easier on Nexus. It would also help the modders to gain more feedback, attention and hopefully also more encouragement with the mod development.
  5. My profile is updating again! Thank you Thandal and whoever that fixed it! I use Google Chrome.
  6. Good to know other people have the same problem. But will anything be done about it? It seems to have been ignored so far by the operators of this site...
  7. Excellent update with the unpublished feature. In fact, I'm going to start my mod page for my weather mod right now, but not publish it for a long, long time :) Thanks!
  8. I think this would be a good idea, if it's possible to implement on the Nexus sites. Sometimes you want to write a bit more to explain things better, but at the same time you don't want to force the reader to read too much. It would be good to have spoiler tags so the author can sort out what's less important than other things on the mod descriptions. Many mod descriptions are very, very long and spoiler tags would help the authors to make it shorter and less of a "wall of text". It doesn't have to be called spoiler tags, but it's commonly used so that's why I thought of it.
  9. So, Nexus staff, could you please fix this "freezing" of any updates on my account? It looks like it's a bug/issue from this site's part, because I have my site preferences correctly set.
  10. I click on "submit", and it says the preferences have been saved. But still, nothing new shows up on my profile updates window... I should mention that my profile updates were working before, but after 2 august 2012, they have stopped. The last update on my profile is from that date, and after that everything has just stopped showing up. No idea why.
  11. Ummmmm, if it's set to "Yes", then you've disabled any "Activity Updates"... :whistling: I meant that it was (and is) set to No :P Yet still nothing shows up.
  12. Thanks for the reply Hickory! I checked what you said, but strangely, it was already set to Yes... Any other ideas of what might be causing this?
  13. My profile (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/users/3485733) never gets updated. If I for instance upload an image (which I just did), then it doesn't appear under the "Updates" activity mini window on my profile page. Is there any way to fix this?
  14. I don't see how larger thumbnails (if I understand you correctly with what you mean) would improve seeing what you want. If anything, it would make things worse... You (everyone) would have to scroll through even more pages, and it would not sort images in any way to help you see what you want to see. The current size is enough for you to know what's displayed. So I still think that a tag system or a much better category system is needed. It's a very easy way for everyone to sort out things, and it works pretty good for the files section. With the huge amount of images being uploaded all the time here as well, some way for users to sort them is also becoming more important.
  15. That's a fair point, but what if tags were only able to be chosen by the uploader? I mean, images are different than files because you often upload so many of them (like you said), and they so quickly disappear amongst the masses of all the other images so often (probably few people would take the time to tag images is my guess, since they "disappear" so fast anyway). I think it probably would be the best if tags only could be chosen by the uploader. It doesn't serve as big purpose as it does with files for the reasons mentioned above. But then... the difference from a tag system and a much more detailed category system probably would be very small. Basically the only difference would be that they're named differently... So, perhaps it doesn't matter then if option A or C is chosen after all. In any case, I think the current image category system is very insufficient and something needs to be done.
  16. Firstly, I wanna say that I think it's great that Nexus allows you to filter certain files through tags. But there's one part of the Nexus that lacks of this, and that's the image section. If you look at the image section in Skyrim Nexus (at almost any time), you'll notice that about 80-90 % of the images are pictures of characters (in often, I find, weird positions or expressions...), often girls in skimpy, sexual outfits or with glossy hair, etc etc... It can become quite annoying to see these pictures all the time, and it's about things I'm not at all interested in. For instance, I'm mostly interested about rugged, beautiful landscapes. But in order to see these images I have to click through pages of these other pictures I'm not at all interested in (to be honest I think many of them are even inappropriate), and which pretty much the opposite of what I want to see. I forgot to mention that the category system that already exists is not enough. It's way, way too generic and it does not make a big difference. Most people just put their image under "aesthetics", both people who upload nature pictures and pictures of sexy/skimpy girls... which are two obvious examples of interests at conflicts here if you like one but not the other. In other words, the category system is far too generic to serve any real purpose, both for uploaders and for viewers. What categories you want to view also can't be saved so you have to reclick them each time you enter the image section. So my point is that I think there is a need to sort out types of images just as much there is for files. I therefore think that either option A, B or C would contribute to the Nexus sites and makes everyone see what they want to see, which is good for everyone (especially people like me though, because the types of images I want to see are so rare). A) A tag system + a filter system for images that is similar to the one that already exists for files. Other tags would be required though of course to serve its purpose. Useful tags could for instance be: new models, new textures, new lands, environment, towns, villages, dungeons, NPCs, combat, characters (your own character), sexy/skimpy, anime, not safe for work, followers, poses, funny, etc etc. B) A separate image section for certain types of images. C) A much more detailed category system with categories that almost work as tags. (and where your category choices can be saved, like with tag preferences) I think option A is the best, because it is logical and similar to what already exists for files, and it can be much more specific than option B and gives more choice to both viewers to see what they want and uploaders to show their images to certain groups of people. It's also less intrusive in the site structure that already exists. So I think there are many good reasons to have a tag system + a filster system for images, and I think it would benefit everyone. It would also allow the Nexus site itself to be "safe for work", because many of the images could be considered "not safe for work". Option C could work as well, since it's very similar to option A. I think tags fit better though than categories, since they are very detailed. Poll added.
  17. I have a lot of problems with logging in and out automatically. I experience this problem with both NMM and the site itself. Pretty annoying... is it related to these issues, because it started recently?
  18. Better tracking centre: I have like a thousand mods that I have tracked, and it's a pretty big mess in the tracking centre. Only the latest uploaded mods are shown first, and as far as I know there are no more options. I would want that improved. I think it could be useful to have an option that allows you to sort by what mods you tracked first in chronological order, as well as the other things you can sort by when you normally search for mods (endorsements, downloads, etc). Moreover, I think it could be even more useful to have an advanced tracking searcher that allows you to search in your tracking centre with category, description, etc (the same that the advanced searcher feature allows). This would be very useful if the user has for instance 10 tracked mods that alter dragons, and before he/she installs something that has to do with dragons in the game, he/she would want to see all the tracked mods that alter dragons to create a better overlook. Otherwise it would be easy to miss a tracked mod that alters dragon, because you can't find it amongst your 1000 other tracked mods. "Popular mods of the day & week" section: I think a section on the front page of the site that contains the most popular mods of the day & week like the Workshop would be a great idea. Perhaps even merge the two things together like the Workshop, so you can click on whether to show what's most popular this day or this week. Most popular would be rated by most endorsements (not votes, because far fewer people vote than endorse), I think. I think it's a very useful feature that quickly allows you to see what's best during the last day or week. This feature would also be very good if you've been away for a week and want to know what you've missed. Morever, and perhaps most importantly, it would give much more opportunity for mods that deserve it to be visible easier. I know there is "hot files" and "mods of the month", but these are so limited and only show 5 mods! A popular mods of the day & week section would rank EVERY mod by popularity since the day & week. In order not to "overshine" hot files and mods of the month, the section could be small, and imo under the mods of the month section of the front page. It could be first a popular mods of the week section, and then a popular mods of the day section (or it could be one section that you click a button to switch it, like in the workshop). They could show 5 mod names each on the section, and there could be a small text button that allows you to see more. If you click on it, it would transfer you to something similar to the most recent files, but sorted by most endorsements automatically. Sure, this is easy to do yourself in advanced search, but one of the major points is that it's on the front page and gives more opportunity for mods to be visible. It would also be faster than advanced search. In order to make the popular mods more different than the most recent files, you could also add small images next to each mods when you look through them (but not visible on the front page section).
  19. I think it will be great to block out mods on the viewable pages like hot files, etc. But... will we be able to block image types too? I can't look at the image section without puking mentally. And even if I don't go to the image section, the images are still visible from the front page. Perhaps you can add a tagging system to images as well? I would really appreciate it. I just want to have a normal modding site to visit.
  20. They can already? I didn't know that. Thanks a lot for telling me! You can close this thread now :P
  21. I think almost everyone here have seen comments in newly uploaded mods saying "Upload pics now! Why aren't they up!". I think that, in general, when modders uploads a mod, and have many big files (for instance huge texture packs) or lots of screens... it simply takes a lot of time to get them up. It can make people who want to download the mod and want to see how it looks like impatient (and thus we get to see such comments like I gave example of above). It can make modders feel very rushed. I think modders think: once the mod is up, hurry up and upload your files and screenshots very quickly, or people will get impatient and/or stop check the mod (and if they do stop check your mod, well, you might have just missed some chances of getting more people to download your mod, which isn't good for anyone). So in short, I think it would be good to have a system which allows modders, when they upload a mod, have the possibility to make it go "hidden" or something similar... so you can peacefully with no rush upload all files all screenshots in your own pace. And after you've done that, you would be able to click an "unhidden" button, and make the mod pop-up normally on the front page of Nexus. (This should be a seperate hidden button than the hidden button modders can use to hide their mods if they don't want it to be shown after they have uploaded it. Otherwise modders could naturally abuse the system to often make the very same mod they have get shown on the front page all the time.) Would such a system work? I think it would make modders happier, and I think it would prevent downloaders from being so easily impatient waiting for files and screens. This is also completely irrelevant to this topic, but it has been going for weeks now and it's really getting on my nerves: remove the Drakengang advertisements. They automatically play with loud sound and are hugely annoying. Please, I beg you.
  22. PLEASE Dark0ne remove this ad from your site. Any ad that automatically plays with loud sound is the worst ad possible. It's so intrusive and it makes you purely hate the ad. Please mail the ad company that you have and tell them not to use this ad. It's been here for several weeks now and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep going :(
