  1. I've always wanted a mod that lets you be the emperor. I literally spent like, an entire month in vanilla skyrim on my PS3 trying to figure out how to become the emperor because it just seemed so fitting... lol

This sounds like it would fit in with that nicely. I do admit, Maven Black Briar and the one Redguard in Whiterun (You know the one I'm talking about) do bug the hell out of me, talking down on me when I'm the godamn-dragonborn-leader-of-everything-the-province. XD

  2. It really could be very lore breaking, depending on what the person playing believes happened to the Dwemer. I personally believe that whatever happened to them wasn't something 'physical', and that simply being 'frozen' wouldn't allow one to still be around, I believe they transcended (or descended) into a higher (or lower) plane(t) of existence. For a Dwemer to be around in a way that is lore friendly to people who know a LOT about the Dwemer, it would have to bee something more complex, like some sort of interdimensional 'ship' suddenly rips into the plane(t) Nirn. Something like the Aetheral Spaceship mod, but instead of getting a working ship, you get a Dwemer follower. I could see use of the 'Dwemer Exoskeleton' mod, plus some other tweaks to make him a large, bulky, tank of a follower, possibly using some of the 'NPC Riffles' from that one Dwemer Riffle mode. (Unless you find that kind of thing lore breaking, I personally don't, since the Dwemer were HIGHLY advanced)

The thing, Dwemer are a very touchy subject for some people. The fact is they DID vanish, every single one of them on the plane(t) it all at once, and only once is known to survive(If you played Morrowind you know who I am talking about), and he himself did not know why the Dwemer vanished, or why he didn't. Morrowind suggests it was based around the disruption of the Heart of Lorkhan, the literal physical heart of the Brother of Akatosh who brought light and knowledge to man and mer, and as a result, had his heart torn out and thrown to Mundus by his brother Akatosh. The result of it's impact/fusion with mundus created Red Mounrain. Many Dwemer revered Lorkhan as the one and only true god worth worshiping, as he was the god of logic, science, and understanding, who shunned the magic of the other gods for a true and deep grasp of the universe itself. When the Dwemer found the heart of Lorkhan, they tried to built a mechanical 'False God' to challenge all the other gods, believing their science and logic was superior to the gods magic. Some time during this series of events, all Dwemer vanished, it is not known why, how, were they wen't, what was the result with their conflict with the gods, and why the one Dwemer in Morrowind was spared. The heart of Lorkhan can still be found in the incomplete shell of the mechanical god the Dwemer were building in Morrowind, so one is lead to believe they never completed their goal, and were abruptly stripped from existence itself for trying to betray the gods.

90% of that is from Morrowind by the way. Really, about the only thing that would make a Dwemer follower logical now, would be a Time Traveler. I really would try to not touch Dwemer lore AT ALL. Maybe even make him have left the Dwemer hundreds of years before whatever stripped them from this world, so he himself knows absolutely nothing about it. Or maybe just make it so he doesn't even speak your language.

The idea is cool, just complicated if you want to be a stickler for lore.

  3. i like the idea :)

you should add trippy dialog (all the people are laughing around you, all people are telling you incredible great you are, dragonborn talks crazy to himself or other strange sounds) and trippy quests (find the happinessblade, dragonborn wants to figth, maybe some drug teleports you to a custom dungeon with custom halucination design)

I've already had the idea of a 'custom dungeon'. but I like the other ides too. I don't want them to be too 'irritating' though, so I'll have to limit dialog. I do have some ideas for it though.

  4. What are you going to do to differentiate it from the mods you linked?

" Give different visual effects(some including a poison effect) to EVERY mushroom in skyrim. "

I don't think that's a good idea. I eat mushrooms IRL and I've never hallucinated. Not all mushrooms need this effect.

As far as not using alchemy property slots, I'd think it would be pretty easy to just trigger the effect with a script when you eat one.

The main things are going to be immersion, lore, and friendliness. Skyhighrim is really annoying in the fact that in replaces some basic items with it's items, effectively making items like Sweetroles, Cream Tarts, Skooma, and Alto Wine impossible to find. And the other mood basically makes the items inaccessible unless you want to use console, since they are only added to merchants selling items (very rarely I might add) for 3-4 thousand gold each, very unpractical for realism. I also want to have less 'intense' effects, and negative effects, and make it so you can actually PICK an item and get an effect from it, something neither of those mods do. I'm basically just perfecting the ideas, and trying to make this mod both easy to use, and easy to forget about once it's installed. By that I mean, minimal conflicting, minimal immersion breaking, minimal lore breaking, minimal effect on the game period, while still accomplishing a very structured and effective way of making most, if not all plants in skyrim more interesting. I just want to make something fun, that won't have a strong effect on your game. I love for all my mods to flow together and for none of them to stick out at me, and every time I see amphetamines in a church or 5,000 gold mushrooms for sell from a shop owner who's entire inventory + gold amount doesn't even equal 1,000, I just think "this could be done so much better". Plus I had the idea for oblivion, and it never seemed to work right.

And by 'hallucination' I don't really mean just bright colors or something, some might just make the screen blur, some might make things shake, some might loop odd sounds, just in general everything will do different things. And you have to remember that a) these are magical plants to begin with, eating them should do more then have a tiny unnoticeable buff/debuff effect that goes away in 30-60 seconds, regardless of what it is. I will also not include this effects in items that are often seen being used as food items in game. (elves ear, frost mirium, fly amanite, mountain flowers, etc.) Though I would like to add a blur effect on salt, since I can't imagine eating salt would be fun. You have to remember, it's impossible to make any of the other 3 senses work in skyrim, so I have to convey every part of the 'trip effect' into either visuals or sound, so they have to be more intense then you would expect. Though, I likely won't make any but the most intense of items have 'strong' effects like the mushrooms and acid from skyhighrim.

  5. I'd like to know the same, I've downloaded a few and I'll tell you how they are (I've been waiting three in game days to turn into a werewolf, and with the timescale set to 6, that's kind of long when I'm playing on two other characters as well)

Vanilla werewolves are kind of.... awful. No way of healing yourself(that isn't a pain in the ass and impossible to do when you, you know, actually need health) you have almost no defense and thus take way to much damage, and do less damage then even unimproved iron weapons. And you can change for TWO MINUTES A DAY. It's just silly.

  6. Go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Skyrim.ini

    Add in the following

    [VATS]

    bVATSDisable=1

This should disabled the slow motion and 'screen locking' for the kill moves, while still performing them at normal speed without locking your screen up. Works perfect, the only issue is, if you go to perform a kill move on a dragon in 1st person it just locks you in place while the dragon flails around be killed by an invisible you.

But, they fix the problem of them going off for no reason. Before this fix there were many times I got killed by basic simple enemies because it went into a 'failed kill move' like 6 times in a row on it, locking me up so I could be pounded on. I think this glitch was based around a spell I was using (Steam Emitter)

Honestly my favorite ini edit, hands down. Makes kill moves fun again, since they only rarely happen, and when they do it's unexpected and an ACTUAL KILL MOVE. Though, long range weapons/spells have NO kill moves now.

  7. I have an idea, that would just perfectly complete my main character. It's a high pitched, squeaky sounding(female) dragon shouts. I think you could possible just tweak with the pitch and speed of normal female dragon shouts to get the result, but I know next to nothing about editing sound.
  8. I have two things I've been wanting for my game, one is just a random 'fun mod' I want, partly to complete the picture in my sig, partly just because it's amusing. A simple, normal, Tuxedo. If such a thing exists, then I am not as good at tracking down mods as I though.

The second is the ONLY thing I am missing for my favorite character. A squeaky female dragon shout voice, if I had my choice, to the point it almost sounds like a meow. This would require a decent amount of voice sampling to do all the dragon shouts, but nothing that couldn't be tackled in an afternoon I think. I know a lot of other people would likely use this, as small girly (and catty) characters on elder scrolls games have always been popular.

Just thought I'd put this out there.

  9. Alright, I have a few 'general troobleshooting' issues with modifying Superb ENB-RL. I've been tweaking in none stop for the past two days with the ENB costumizer, and I've fixed nearly every problem I've come across, but a few are still stumping me.

    1) Some, but not all, interior cells have really weird inverted color. The main one I can think of is added by dawnguard, so maybe it's something specific with it?

    2) There is a black 'aura' around most actors in the game.

    3) The water is almost entirely transparent, to the point that in the oceans there is bad visual glitch with the top of the water not loading all the way really far off, normally I'd never be able to see this.

    4) I really like how shiny and reflective it makes my armor, yet for some reason animals(Wolves for example) and some hair is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more reflective then armor, to the point that when I bend down to look at some dead animals it glares out my entire screen. Fur should not be shiny, so this is very immersion breaking. Most of the 'worst' animals that do this are from SkyMoMod.

  10. From what I know, adding in an entire new weapon animation is next to impossible. You would have to replace one of the existing weapon animations, and most people just wouldn't be cool with that. Also the wielder using it like can sounds almost impossible as well, as the game can't give different animations based on the weapon, to even do it EVERY humanoid actor in the game would ALWAYS be walking like they had a cane, regardless of what weapon they had. You could use the "PC exclusive animations', but you would still walk like you were walking with a cane, even when you had another weapon equipped. Animations are just reallyreally hard to work into the game, and take a LOT of effort to make in the first place, as a smooth animation can take hours upon hours of mind-numbingly monotonous work. To make ALL the animations you suggested, it would take even the best of animators months of works to make all by themselves.

I like the idea, but it seems like an intense amount of work for a simple weapon mod that would make the person using it basically unable to use any other weapon in the game without glitchiness.

  11. "No one wants to spend countless hours of their free time busting their ass doing exactly what I want them to do just because I personally don't like the mods already existence, so you'r all incompetent mindless drones."

Great logical skills. Do you realize animation is one, if not the single most difficult thing in Skyrim? One simple animation can take days, if not weeks to make. It is in no way 'not possible', it simply takes so many man hours no on ever actually makes new animations unless they are very inspired too, and since Skyrim's Vanilla casting animations are pretty cool in most people's opinions, and there are already a few mods out there that change them for the people who don't like them, the odds of finding another person who would want to do new casting animations alone is next to zero, but trying to find someone who would be willing to do exactly what you want them too just because you asked (rudely I might add) is basically non-existent, and to resort to insulting people after just a few days of no interest is just childish.

  12. I've tried RCRN, and in my opinion, it is barely noticeable at all, if you are really looking for a lighting mod that has a noticeable powerful impact on the game, RCRN is not for you. To be honest, it just hurt my eyes to play the game with in installed for longer then a few hours. My personal favorite is Superb ENB RL, but it has a very strong impact on the game, and can cause some lag. It is extremely customizable if you download the ENB custimizer, which can drop the quality and depth effects , making it not lag so bad, it also has 4 different install options from High Performance, to High Quality. I use the High Quality with all the detail turned on the highest settings and in RARE occasions my FPS drops from 60 to 45 when I turn around really fast or I run reallyreally fast, or I'm flying a skyship at full speed or something. To me, the metal shimmer effect alone makes this mod my favorite lighting mod. the focusing effect on objects in faces is just amazing too, it really makes things POP, and look 'animated' in a weird realistic way. It's honestly the most NOTICABLE lighting mod out there, and has very minimal FPS hit when compared so some of the other ones, and as I said, has 4 different version based on your performance vs quality preferences.

If you are looking for something with extremely minimal impact though, I guess RCRN is a good choice, it's very mildly customizable as well. I was just very disappointed with it, with how much people suggest it, I felt like all it really did was make my game harder to see clearly, and look less high-definition then Vanilla. It all comes down to personal preference though, and I don't mind taking a not-noticeable-to-the-eye FPS loss to make my game much more realistic. I will say RCRN had ZERO effect on my FPS, but my machine is a monster that chews up and spits out skyrim like it's pacman.

  13. I have no idea what game Freygon is talking about, but I think this idea is great. Seeing as I play with frostfall on hardcore mode, the ability to create ice bridges sounds simply amazing, especially since my character's destruction magic of choice is ice.
  14. Try Skyrim Redone(reworks most everything, including making potions heal over time, not instantly, redoes most skilltrees/perks/powers/races/etc. in the games to make the over powered ones less powerful and make the underpowered ones more usable, tweaks all armor and weapons in the game as well), Frostfall(total survival mod, makes it so you can't wait outdoors or fast travel, and it makes it so the cold can kill you, and getting wet through falling in water/getting caught in the rain speeds up the process, while the more armor you wear, and even the type of armor you wear slows down the process Totally Configurable as well), Total Realism(Makes it so you need to sleep, eat, drink, cook food) , Deadly Dragons(effects not just dragons, but nearly every nameless enemy in the game, totally configurable), iHUD(removes compass + other tweaks to hud), Locational Damage (Makes it so that hits to the feet and hits to the head DO DIFFERENT THINGS, hands down one of the best combat mods ever made. Every spot on a humanoid enemies body does different damage and has different effects based on location.) Combat Damage Multiplier (Simply makes EVERYTHING do more damage)

I normally play skyrim vanilla on master and find it easy, and I'm forced into adept playing with all these mods turned all the way up, and I still die pretty often.

  15. Honestly, I don't know, I only just started on Skyrim modding, and so far the only thing I've looked into is applying visual effects to the screen.

Looking at mods like Flyable Dwemer Skyship it seems possible to make a dragon mount that could fly that way, but there are so many glitches and problems in making a dragon mount to begging with I don' think it will be any easy undertaking, if possible.

  16. This is more then a little odd. I had RCRN installed, but since the only thing it ever seemed to do was make my game foggy and bland, I decided to uninstall it. I unchecked the ESP, and tried to turn off everything in the customizer, but it kept giving me errors and crashing. I just ignored it, and installed 'Superb ENB-RL', when I first installed it, I noticed an odd fog blur effect, apparently some other people have the same error pretty often. I tried tweaking with the ENB Customizer, and managed to remove it, and I managed to pretty easy, but nothing I could do could make the game not obnoxiously dark, despite it being in the middle of the day. I tried everything, loading/saving, waiting, etc. (Fast traveling is disabled, so I couldn't do that) However, I checked all my other characters, and the lighting is just fine, in fact, on some of them it was brighter in the middle of the night then it was during the day on the first character.

EDIT: I've noticed, when loading the character it says the '3:45AM' instead of '3:45PM' like it says in game. The sky appears to be a normal day time sky, but all the trees/buildings/actors/etc. look as if it's night time. Very baffling. Again, only for ONE save file, all the others are perfectly normal.

The only thing I can think of is, I saved on the first character after turning off RCRN, and not on any of the other characters. Could that have caused the issue? Since it doesn't sem to be a mod conflict problem, I won't post my L/O unless someone deems it necessary.

Sadly, this is the last really major mod I was planning on installing, and I simply love it, but it is making my main character next to unplayable. =[

EDIT2: *groan* now I'mg getting an infinite load when I try to load up any of my characters. Sometimes it does load them, but the load screen just takes forever. I haven't noticed any save game bloat or anything, my saves are averaging around 5-7megs, which seems pretty normal to me.

  17. I took this screenshot of an error message I SOMETIMES get. click here

    Ah, I see.

Look in your "<drive>:\users\<username>\appdata\local\skyrim" folder for a text file called "plugins.txt" (or maybe it is "plugins" without an extension). Note: you will need to set your Explorer options to show hidden files and folders. Now, make sure that "Skyrim.esm" isn't in there TWICE. If it is, delete one of them. That should fix that problem and hopefully stop your CTDs.

This issue is generally caused by a combination of NMM+BOSS, so it may be worth keeping an eye on your plugins.txt file whenever you use NMM to install mods.

*sigh* that sounds like it might help, but when I tried to 'show hidden files' because the 'appadata' folder didn't appear, it made nearly every single file on my computer disappear, and I can't seem to find out how to undo it, I've been searching google for like an hour now. >.<

EDIT: Alright, I kinda fixed the problem, all those files are back, but transparent. ANYWAYS. Skyrim.esm WAS in the location you described TWICE. I'm going to try restarting skyrim now to see if that fixes the problem.
