  1. I would really like this, right now I have separate armor for bartering (speechcraft/haggling enchants), smithing, alchemy, archery, and so on. And I would wear RP clothes more if switching in and out of my regular armor wasn't so inconvenient.
  2. I normally play characters that are morally amoral... I guess "Neutral" would be the best description. They look out for themselves, take what they need, slay enemies but would hesitate to kill or rob innocents. But Skyrim makes it nearly impossible to play this kind of character, let alone a noble, very good character. If you deliberately avoid quests where you have to make poor moral choices, you lose experiencing a large portion of the game. What's more, you are often rewarded for being evil and there are almost no repercussions for your actions. I originally started playing as a character who, though not good, wanted to uphold certain moral values. But the game outright encourages you to steal, bribe, trick, and kill the innocent. Another problem I encounter is when I "justify" killing someone (they're evil, part of a cult, etc) and then loot their house, the items are often still considered stolen. So I need a fence. So I better go join the Thieves Guild. It's a slippery slope, especially because you aren't even given the choice of whether to accept a quest. If you don't do a quest, you just miss out and most of the time you gain nothing by denying it. So yes, I totally agree, Skyrim not only is designed to force you to be amoral, but downright evil. I didn't really want to kill the old woman either, I mean she can be as evil as hell but she wasn't a witch or daedra... she was a nasty old woman. You can't scare her off, or make her change her ways, or anything. So you kill her. So much for freedom of choice? In short, It's a good idea, but I have no idea how someone could even begin to implement it.
  3. Hey, I uploaded it here: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6994 Download it and let me know how it looks on your system. If it doesn't look right, I can try making some different variations.
  4. But modifying other characters in the game is much more complex than making level 1 characters. Even with the currently released NPC editor it's very cumbersome and difficult (and I want to emphasize that I'm not knocking the person who made it either, to make it at all must have been a time consuming and required more effort and knowledge than I have. It's just not as sophisticated as I hope the CK will be). Also, it's great that *you* can make your own characters, but a lot of other people are less talented at it.
  5. There's a Khajit trader who appears outside Whiterun and complains bitterly about the cold. I find this ironic since the Khajit are covered in more fur than half the inhabitants of Skyrim.
  6. This is a cool concept, but the problem is that for it to be unique to your character and not be applied to every NPC it needs to be considered something like a piece of armor/clothing that you "wear" which is more complex than just altering a texture. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying it would take programming work as well as visual work, especially if you want to go the depth you described where it has an in-game effect instead of just being cosmetic.
  7. Well, I've mailed the lad. Maybe we might be lucky? (: I don't know if he responded to you, but I was looking at latest uploads just now and saw this: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6631 . It's by a different person... Might help though. Edit: and of course, I browsed a few more pages and saw http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6612 by theroll. Now you have choices.
  8. This is a really bright golden version with dark eyes. I can make it so that it's more silvered with just the gold on the highlights like you asked, but will have to do that later as I'm out of time right now. Do you want it to be this bright, or you want a more natural looking dark gold? This screenshot is at about 8am gametime in sunlight, btw.
  9. People tend to have different results with what happens to their stats after showracemenu. There's defnitely a correlation to race changing. Looking back over what I wrote, although I said I didn't change my character's race, that's not entirely accurate- I did so temporarily. Basically I went orc --> dark elf to add features such as a dark elf skintone to her --> back to orc, close the console and I then had to manually re-apply and fix stats. So possibly even if you don't "save" a race change, a temporary one during showracemenu triggered it. Also it does seem that some things such as make up and warpaint reset when you open showracemenu. Skintone also resets in my case. There just really needs to be a mod that let's us change appearance legitimately instead of mucking around with console.
  10. Yeah... that's the problem! I like the bodies from most of the other female races - dark elf would be my preference - but overall I like the facial appearance, racial attributes and lore behind being an orc. So I don't want to lose that. I also want people to actually respond to me as an orc (or even better, say I look "oddly elfin" for an orc because I'm actually a physical mix...imminent mod request coming), although so far the AI has failed to do that on several occasions (tangent example: The suspicious meat dealer who wants an orc wife- not only am I female orc but the blacksmith 30 yards away is also female orc- yet he complained about how he could never get one and acted like I was the scum of the earth. And then, randomly, people do comment on that I'm an orc. Still a fail.) Honestly, the only things I want to change about my orc's apperance is her wide-yet-hunched shoulders. She just has terrible posture compared to other races, and her arms look really bad if I sprint or run with a weapon drawn. A lot of armor look very disproprotionate when worn, when I have tested it on other race bodies and it looks acceptable. Obviously I put up with it because I'm not going to let my character OCD get in the way of playing the game, but it's something I would *like* to have a workaround for. I guess an alternate fix to this is if someone added body sliders (reducing shoulder & arm length to actually be proportionate would be so good). Thank you for trying to help though, even if it's not the answer yet!
  11. This is how the silver looks in game to me. I'm using an ENB mod (Ideal ENB - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6403) and the weather is dark, so how it looks there may not be accurate to how it looks for you if you used it. Also, I can't run on high graphics settings right now until I replace my graphics driver which I was going to do either tonight or later in the week. So, results may vary. If you like this re-texture I will upload it for you. If you don't, let me know what you don't like and I can possibly alter it.... or someone else can do one.
  12. Here's a preview of a possible silvery version. Had to reduce the image quality to upload it to forums, the actual quality is the same as the default texture. I made it "bright", if you want a more dark silver that can be done...
  13. If someone can either upload the dds file or tell me the exact path and filename of it within the .BSA I might be able to do this. I have the .BSA unpacker that worked for Oblivion, it seems to work with Skyrim but I can't find the file scrolling through the list and I don't think the program has a keyword search. edit: Nevermind, it was in the /clothes/ path instead of the /armor/ path. Because, you know...
  14. bump, still looking for a comprehensive answer for both my questions.
  15. I would try a Mithra/Mi'qote style mod if it was released. I wouldn't really care if it was a Khajit replacer or a completely new race though, maybe whoever is developing it could offer it as both options. There's already a mod that lets you play as an Elin from TERA, but I think it's a masking mod with only one look, so I haven't bothered with trying it (and Elin are a little too cute to fit into the game world for my taste anyway).
