  1. In response to post #24587454. #24587604 is also a reply to the same post. Simply not buying those mods will NEVER a change anything. Valve/Bethesda don't pay money for that, it's a 100% free income source for them. And the way how these huge companies work, every fraction of a cent additional income is worth it. The only thing that can change Valve's behaviour is to boycot all Steam products and let them know about why you're doing that.

Actually ValveThesda should pay modders for their work - from their own stash of dollars. Would be interesting to know how many people only bought Skyrim because of the mods.
  3. In response to post #24574924. #24574934 is also a reply to the same post. Until Skyrim only launches with mods from the official Steam Workshop.

Nivea, i understand this will kill the motivation of many skilled and renown modders like you. So about the "Wet & Cold" mod on Steam - assuming you had actually agreed on it being posted there, how much would the included hoods from your "Winter is Coming" mod be worth? And who would decide that? This will destroy the modding scene if nothing is done to stop it.
  5. This is morally despicable. I'm not buying another Steam game until this is removed. Further i'm also withdrawing all my endorsements on the Nexus for any mod i see over there.
  6. In response to post #21489459. I appreciate your effort in keeping this a clean place where people can safely host and download their mods. And i understand that this is not an easy or even thankful job, with all the kids or crazy folks spamming around, leaving you to clean up the mess. However i was under the impression that Dark0ne made this post exactly because of - and i simply quote directly from his new year's message - "inconsistencies" and "reports of moderator abuse".
  7. First off i'd like to both congratulate and thank you for your efforts to increase the Nexus site performance and stability. I've been a member for quite a while now, and i very well remember the times where you had to be quick to write a comment or download a file, and you had to do it during work times on weekdays because the site was pretty much guaranteed to be offline almost every night and on the weekends. ;) Right now i can't remember when i last had a download being slow or not work at all. And occasional maintenance is nothing to worry about. Now about moderation guidelines and transparency, i'm glad that this has been done. Talking to people about the Nexus, i often hear comments like: - "Just download your mods, endorse and log out" - "never write comments and never upload images" ( ! ) This can't be beneficial for the progress of art and modding techniques, right? Alone the fact that parallel communities have been thriving, because people don't want to be afraid of what sometimes seemed random and arbitrary banning without a "warning shot" when they uploaded a mod or an image. Anyways, keep up the good work and thanks for everything.
  8. Hello, i would need a definite answer by the Nexus Staff regarding a specific case. The main question is: Are Slider Presets for BodySlide 2 seen as "mods" or "assets" under the site rules? I already have contacted the authors of Bodyslide about this issue (link) Answer by Ousnius (link) So their point of view is pretty much clear, now i'd like to hear what the Nexus Staff has to say about this. Fact is that those presets do not contain any form original art (graphic, sound, 3D models, storytelling etc.) nor program code - you could roughly compare them to face presets for a character editor like RaceMenu, although a lot less complex. Thanks in advance
  9. Hi, seems like the width of attached posts in the imageshare section has just been reduced from ~900 to ~600 pixels. Was that intended, and if so, why? edit: Seems like this change has just been reverted, thanks
  10. Alright to be clear, this attack would only work if you downloaded an .exe file and executed it, right? But for example when using a .dll file like SKSE plugins, Skyrim could not be used by that to manipulate your computer?
  11. So there are no other map mods? Then someone should make one :)
  12. Hello, I'm looking for a proper map mod that is up to date for all DLCs. Been using "A Quality World Map - With Roads" in the past, but it doesn't support any DLC. Also i've been using "Warburgs Paper World Map" but that has certain issues that the author also mentions in the description. Also it tries to do some stuff that i don't exactly need, like changing into a flat map with fixed PoV etc.
  13. ENB is basically a hack that vastly improves the graphics engine. Skyrim out of the box has a terrible graphics engine, it's DirectX 9 which is standard of Windows XP from 2001. But it doesn't even use that properly, because it was developed for PS3/XBox360 consoles with restrictions like 1 dynamic light per scene and such which are not even a joke but rather an insult to anyone with a somewhat decent PC bought in the past 5 years. What ENB does, is that it not just enhances features but actually adds stuff that is usually only possible with DirectX 11. The list of added features is way too long, but basically i can say that it is considered safe to use at least without breaking your PC (source code is not public, so use at your own risk regarding data security). With most ENB presets (those are required to actually give a final result on your PC), the game becomes VERY demanding on hardware, so if you have 100+ FPS with vanilla Skyrim, you might only get 30 FPS with ENB and some texture packs like Skyrim HD and Flora Overhaul installed.
  14. I'm quite sure that SkyRe is designed to be played on Normal difficulty. The "difficulty slider" only reduces player damage and increases monster damage, it doesn't make the AI any smarter and thus just makes the player spend more time at the forge, drinking more potions etc. At least i found myself going down the path with enchanting / blacksmithing / alchemy all the time, and a daedric artifact as weapon because the charges on enchantments in Elder Scrolls games are one of the most retarded inventions in RPGs ever. And SkyRe actually buffs them (daedric weapons) substantially because they are unleveled and thus at full power if you pick them up at level 10.
  15. Unofficial Patches are a must, just be aware that other mods might need a compatibility patch for that too or they might cause issues or even revert bugfixes. And while you're on the wiki pages like UESP, you will notice how badly broken Skyrim still is with something like 5 average bugs per quest.
  16. Actually i remember beating up mudcrabs in Morrowind while constantly jumping up and down, after i noticed that it levels up the acrobatics skill  The major problem with this in Requiem seems to be that there are Sabrecats and Trolls everywhere around Riverwood and Whiterun. Doesn't sound like you gave it much of a chance. It's supposed to be played like older RPGs, like Morrowind for example. You have to start the weak low levels smart and slow. To the OP, like the above suggested, bows are great. If you're looking for good creatures to fight at low levels for easy experience without needing much in the way of armor/weapons/enchants, etc, try mudcrabs and wolves. Remember, you can also turn down the difficulty in the MCM I think by lowering the damage dealt. If you really are suffering with the low levels and just want a little break to get used to Requiem, try that. Followers also help a ton, since you can get them to do the work while you build your character up. Alright, but where do i get followers in Requiem? Sven/Faendal --> Are no longer available after doing their quest Jenassa --> Sure i got 500g after my trip to Whiterun... oh wait she costs 5000g now, start saving now but the horse also costs 7k and i don't even want to know what Breezehome will cost Uthgerd --> Yes faithful old Uthgerdy will save me, but there she goes and knocks me out in 5 seconds Don't get me wrong, i surely love a challenge, but after trying to start the game as a wizard and getting oneshotted by EVERYTHING isn't exactly fun and just ends in reload-o-rama like some japanese hardcore console game. Actually managed to reach level 4 by exploiting AI in every single fight (water/rocks/fences) and mixing in some fear spells, only to find out that i can't invest any perks into my intended core skill trees because everything past the first perk requires 25 skill. After what some people have been describing ("at first levels, use a bow") it all seems to boil down to the "path of least resistance", which i believe is the main flaw of how Skyrim is designed. Fallout New Vegas honestly does the RPG part so much better since you get to choose your skills on levelup, like you should in classic RPGs. About SkyRe, been playing that for some time but all the hassle with ReProccer and hundreds of compatibility patches isn't worth it, since you still become godlike at around level 30 and can just whirlwind through everything including "Deadly Dragons". Requiem seems to be great out of the box, just started over with a fresh install using only ENB, some texture packs, Flora overhaul, Better Dialogue/Messagebox Controls and it feels much more like a complete game than some previous SkyRe installs with dozens of other mods on top of it. Just that one thing about the difficulty curve - I've been playing PC games for over 25 years, and i damn sure can tell you that games are supposed to become progressively more difficult, just like a movie should build up more tension in the storyline etc. Getting oneshotted by the first opponents, going immediately out of magicka by casting a skeleton that should lasts 10 seconds but also dies in 1-2 hits without dealing damage, having to wait 5 minutes AFK to regain mana and all that is just ridiculous and drives most players away. And honestly there's nothing heroic or even remotely skilled in sitting on top of a rock at level 2 and kill a giant, that's just exploiting the AI (like i had to by jumping into the water 5 times in the embershard mine). I also remember doing that in my first Skyrim playthrough, but at least in Vanilla only the Giants and Mammoths are oneshotting the player (and not every silly arrow from a raised skeleton or bandit). Also using anything like UFO/AFT is simply cheating by definition. You're not supposed to have several followers in this game, although i still have to find out where to get even one. May i remind people that those early followers are supposed to make playstyles like archer/mage possible at all, maybe Requiem just isn't designed for anything else than warrior in mind. Well, i guess i'll take the carriage to Winterhold and see how that turns out for a level 4 "wizard"
  17. Latest 4GBNV should have a folder called "exes", try dropping your d3d9.dll from the ENB wrapper version in there (in addition to the d3d9.dll in the FONV main folder to be safe) I'm using ENB 0.173, NVSE3b2, FNV4GB and the "fake fullscreen" mod all together, although i think both the ENB and the fake fullscreen mods only work with an older version of FNV4GB. This ENB provides a working FNV4GB file: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/49882/? Or try the one from this link which i am using right now: http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip
  18. In response to post #7529174. #7529449 is also a reply to the same post. (deleted)
  19. I recently played with: Official Bethesda "High-Res" DLC HD Textures DLC Fix HighResTexturePack DLC Tweaks (supposedly above mod is missing some stuff) Skyrim HD 2K Textures (all 5 packs) Skyrim Flora Overhaul Ruins Clutter Improved Skyrim HD Environments (both nordic & imperial) SMIM (with ELFX patch) W.A.T.E.R. However - i'm still having some textures in certain areas which are 100% vanilla Skyrim - all strechted, pixellated and ugly. Mostly i remember places like Moss Mother Cavern and the cave area inside Folguntur (where you're sent to retrieve Jurgen Windcaller's horn) having for example those green textures which probably are supposed to resemble mossy rocks. Any recommendation which mod would cover those last missing spots? If possible, i'll gladly accept anything else that would replace above packs in a more handy package. Only thing i can't imagine playing without are Flora Overhaul, WATER and SMIM :) Thanks in advance. Oh and BTW, in case there's anything lore-friendly for things like faces and skins in general on all playable races in premium quality, i'd be interested too. Just nothing in the direction of "Mannequin" that most CBBE/UNP-style packs have.
  20. Alright thanks, i finally decided to just uninstall NMM and entirely wipe Skyrim from the Disk. Fresh download at 24% :)
  21. Hi there, bought a new PC 2 weeks ago and downloaded Skyrim through Steam (no Dawnguard/Hearthfire), installed and tested dozens of mods, ENBs, texture packs, INI tweaks, finding out incompabilites and how to fix them. Now i plan to buy Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn DLCs tonight and want to make sure that everything is 100% back to Vanilla Defaults before buying & installing those DLCs, including all .ini files and such. So i thought doing something like this: NMM: Deactivate all active mods Delete everything in \Data folder except skyrim.esm, update.bsa/esm and HighRes-DLC files <---- (here's where i need confirmation what else should not be deleted) Delete everything in \documents\my games\skyrim Delete all ENB+SKSE+Skyrim Configurator files in Skyrim's Main Folder Use "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam Buy and download DG/HF/Dragonborn DLCs Make a backup of the entire game folder this time And of course after that doing a step-by-step reinstall of all mods. So please let me know which steps are unnecessary and which other steps might be required to restore a 100% working Vanilla installation (apart from just uninstalling and re-downloading everything). Thanks in advance.
