  1. personally i use a lot of mods, many of which tweak the game to be harder, but personally i find that once you master attack block and shield bash there really isnt much any mod can do to make the game harder :P i mean i generally use pretty wimpy gear, for instance i like using the iron sword cause i like how it looks :P....i spose when you get really good you just think, screw ultimate stats, i wanna look cool. so thats my playstyle, i've done pretty much everything there is to do, fought with pretty much every method, so now i just wander, kill new things with new weapons and look frickin badass.

but yes i do agree with the whole easiness and serial dumbing down of games in general over the last few years, its really starting to take the p***, i only hope that the games industry comes back to hardcore gaming instead of this silly casual fad :P (not that i dont understand the whole casual thing, it just aint my style)

  2. M'aiq has been in the Elder Scrolls since Morrowind. He's essentially just a big Easter Egg - he's got interesting dialogue, but that's about it. M'aiq is like a running joke at this point.

HA! he literally is a running joke xD

    also M'aiq is cool.

I like Maiq. I remember trying to keep up running with him in Oblivion....impossible. I like his dialogue...it alludes to interesting reflections on the game

heh, try taking loads of skooma and having some speed buffing spells, i used to play oblivion on an xbox and i could easily outrun him!

ofc i did have some crazy attributes, i think my base acrobatics was about 271, like wearing absolutely nothing, mind you that was partially down to all sorts of glitches :P

  3. its no biggy dude, they're just makin some money, just be thankful they havent gone all blizzard on our arses and totally ruined TES by making it a single plyer online only game, but thats a different rant :P

at any rate, it looks rubbish, i dont think anyone really cares, it'll be a massive flop, you dont have to buy it, its not going to effect the series or any of beths games and well yeah that all sums it up, hell let make a huge mistake, its no skin off our back :)

but for the record i do think its a huge mistake and they shouldnt make it, but tbh i dont really care :P

  4. simply, are you a revolution freedom for the people kinda guy, or are you happy with an overarching ruling system?

i mean its certainly not that clear cut, but its a good measure :)

also as for the "good guys" there are none, ulfric is biggoted and an idiot and is striving for personal glory, and the empire is being oppresive, submissive (to the thalmor) and insensitive to the nordic beliefs....neither is that great, ofc if i existed and was in the elder scrolls myself i would totally co-ordinate efforts against the thalmor, but its not an easy situation, the empire is in tatters, a civilisation on its way out, is shaken from a brutal war and is on the verge of collapse as a result, and as such has little choice but to cave to thalmor demands thereby helping fuel the conflict in the north (which of course is exactly what the thalmor want) of course this entire situation simply needs some sneaky negotiation between skyrim and the empire and some underhanded tactics etc. but hey in a war where the survival of humanity is at risk anything goes right?

so to be perfectly honest at the end of the day, the thalmor are the bad guys in this war, the civil war in skyrim is more a civil battle.

  5. Ok so, ulfric was perfectly justified to kill toryg and did so in the correct fashion, the empire took this as an afront, declared this as bad and are using it as an excuse to rid them of ulfric by marching in their armies, But ulfric's reasons for pursuing the throne are not completely certain, imo its just a grab for power and indictive of his personality, he feels cheated by the empire and wishes to take power for himself, not for the people he claims, and yes he is passionate and great at rallying his soldiers and a graet speaker and all that, but so are all the most silver tongued of figures, so overall i agree with ulfrics ideals, but dislike ulfric the man, and i dont particularly like the empire for its leadership and stagnation, BUT overall the emmpire is better because it has a long history and is cohesive and encompasses a lot of lands and figures, and therefore is the only particularly viable candidate for holding back the thalmor, so i wouldnt really say im either empire or ulfric, there are pro's and con's to both and it largely depends on your personal ideology, but if i could i would take skyrim for myself, form generous treaties with the empire, cementing a relationship with them and preserving trade and the overall strength of both sides, whilst also focusing on backroom negotiations about how to fight back against the thalmor, and a hell of a lot of other things, but i really cant be bothered to go into it too much xD

but yeah as for the main point of this thread, Yes ulfric was right to kill the high king, as indeed any jarl or other nord would be according to long standing nord traditions, and just as a sword is the native weapon of a nord, so is the thu'um and both take skill and dedication and strength to learn! but i dont think anyone can really argue that ulfric did the wrong thing or violated tradition.

also im not claiming to be an expert but i have read a holy shedload of TES lore so i do know what im on about :P....although im human and as such make mistakes.

  6. just wanted to stop by and say good luck and i wish you all the best with this project, also as im starting to get back into skyrim again (thanks to dawnguard) ill probably take up modding again, and if i do ill chime by and let you guys know so if you need an extra dogs body then you'll haz one :)

anyways good luck and hopefully ill be back and available!

  7. Actually more to do with money, this introduced this entire system because they expect D3 to attract their wow players, and as D3 is a pay once game they needed a way to get constant revenue, so they introduced the new auction house so they can get their cut of the item farming and trades :P so more than anything, its greed.
  8. Hey everyone i'd love to open this thread with a heres some guest passes but alas my friends CE came with none :(....so i thought i'd start a general begging thread over here....so to kick things off
