I guess I can't make it then... There goes my idea for another mod... Curse my antivirus... EDIT: Well I can start up the construction set extender, I ran it with the compatibility it suggested and it errors every time I load it up and the log is blank. Also I have never ever used OBSE in mods, I want to give the potion 5 uses, and if its empty or below 5 uses then you can recharge it at an altar. There would be 2 types of altars, good and evil ones, good ones only refill it if your fame is higher then your infamy, and evil ones are the opposite.
-
Yeah I tried that, my antivirus is persistent and spams it on me until I let it delete it... I use AVG btw...
-
Sorry but that script doesnt help me at all, its like gibberish to me. It also seems to rely on OBSE which I have not found out how to make OBSE work in the construction set yet, it also relies on .ini files which I do not wish to get involved in. EDIT: I tried installing the construction set extender, sadly my antivirus is a troll by being one of those antiviruses that makes a false positive on it. :( Is there any way without OBSE to do it?

Hey, I was just wondering if a refillable healing potion mod is possible to script, it has been a while since I last done oblivion modding so I am a bit rusty. The mod I was wanting to make is a mod where you start with a special potion, the potion itself heals health when you drink it and would have 5 uses, once its out of uses it becomes an empty special potion bottle, there would be altars around the world where you can refill it... Just think of it as a Dark Souls estus flask for oblivion. I'm sure this is doable, but as I said, it has been a while since I have done modding for oblivion, especially scripting, and I never made anything that is given to the player automatically. Many thanks.

I agree with openworldaddict, one of the reasons why I like oblivion more then skyrim is some of the small things like sleeping to level up. I made a new character in oblivion recently and powerleveled sneak from 35 to 100, it caused my level to go from level 1 to level 7. :P

LE Hearthfire - Starter chest connected to carpetner benches?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Sorry but that isnt exactly what I had in mind, I tried it but all it really does is make storing the materials more convinient, what I am looking for is a mod where I can just store all the building materials into the carpenter chest and still use them at any carpenter bench in the house without having to take out all the building materials out of the chest again then having to slowly walk to the carpenter bench I want to use... -
Now Taking Compatibility Patch Requests
TerraMcCloud replied to mhahn123's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Not sure I know how to accomplish that request. I would assume the boots are scripted to change pc faction settings while wearing them. In all honesty scripting is not my strong suit...but i'm interested in checking out how it works. Sounds like a good learning opportunity, so if I can figure it out I'll do it. Would help to know what version of Frans you are using though. V5B2 atm, but if its been updated I will update to the latest version. -
Now Taking Compatibility Patch Requests
TerraMcCloud replied to mhahn123's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
uhm, can I made a request(if it hasnt been requested already), can you make a compatibility mod for Knights of the Nine and Francescos level creatures and items? The compatibility request is to make it so the animals from francescos dont attack you while wearing the boots of the crusader, just like the vanilla animals. -
Just a little request, since I am the biggest newb at using programs like blender, can someone make a mod that adds Wood, Stone and Bone arrows to the arrow leveled lists in oblivion? They would be weaker then Iron Arrows(and heck maybe iron arrows would be a bit rarer) and would be more common obviously. Wood arrows would be the weakest, bone and stone would have the same damage but weaker then iron arrows. Wood arrows would look like sharpened sticks with flights pretty much. Stone Arrows would be similar to wood arrows but with sharp stone arrowheads instead of being sharpened sticks. Bone arrows would be the same as stone but with bone arrowheads instead of stone. Heck i dont even need a full on mod made, just a modder resource and some permissions to use said modder resource in a mod of my own. Many thanks.

a cool idea, I wont be able to do it but its cool nonetheless, becoming a bandit ringleader or marauder warlord, and heck maybe make it so that if you are a bandit, Marauders will hate you and vice versa.

I saw that custom classes dont work with it, so either it needs to make custom classes work with it or I'd rather not use it. Besides the one I want to make is just your main persona and an alt persona both with seperate inventories, fame, infamy, bounty and factions, both the normal and alt persona would have the same level, attributes, skills, spells, etc.
-
I was just thinking more along the line of Seperate Inventory, Fame, Infamy, Bounty and Factions. Kinda like the Gray Fox script already does(except I dont think it affects factions.)
-
Hey everyone, I was thinking of making a mod where you can get a spell that allows you to have a seperate personality/alter ego kinda thing. Both your main personality and seperate personality would have seperate inventories(I already have an idea on how to make them seperate inventories) basically it would work similarly to the Gray Fox personality via the gray cowl of noctournal but with a spell instead(and no guards on your hind end and having like 100 infamy.) Your bounty, fame, infamy, factions, etc would be different on your alternate personality though. I am not too good with scripting but I got a good plan on how to make the seperate inventories, its just the actual personality switch that I would have trouble with. If anyone is able to assist it would be nice.

A cuirass/chestplate that looks similar to this?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
The Iron Cuirass doesnt look enough like the one I am after. A few reasons, one being the sleves, the D2 light plate doesnt have sleeves. Secondly the Iron Cuirass is Heavy Armor, whereas the Light Plate I want is Light Armor. Third is the fact that theres some leather straps or such that seems to hold the light plate together. Fourth is that it doesnt look as "dirty" as the Iron Cuirass.(Not dirty as in NSFW but moreso dirty as in the Iron Cuirass looks more like its made of rock) Just some thoughts. -
A cuirass/chestplate that looks similar to this?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
I honestly dont like the Iron Armor, also only the male variant has some similar looks but not the female one at all, and my main character I play on(her name is terra) is a female. (But if you do make it I would definately like it for both genders, and I dislike skimpy stuff, figured I would just say that.) -

Can anyone make a cuirass that looks similarly to this? Or at least knows of a mod that has a similar looking piece of armor? Sorry, I just like how the D2 Light Plate's armor sprite looks. Sadly I cant get a bigger image. :( Anyone? -
Im sure this is doable, but me being a scripting newb, I dont know how to do it. Im thinking of making 2 rings, one that gives a 50% shield effect when the player's health is 20% or lower, and another that fortifies strength by 40 when at 20% health or lower. I'll try to figure it out on my own, but if anyone can assist that would be nice.

Give player random leveled armor upon entering an area?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
I also tried that one too, and -100 towards the opposite faction. EDIT: I also tried -Lowering the combatants aggression from 100 to 90 then from 90 to 60, they still attack eachother, but wont attack the player at 60 aggression and want to kill the player at 90 and 100. -Putting the player on the same faction as the combatants. -Giving them a disposition boost with the Player faction. -Giving them a disposition boost towards the factions the player is in when on the same team, and disposition penalties towards the opposite team. None of these work, either both teams want to kill me, or both teams dont. -

That is actually what I have tried before, and it didnt work for me, I will try it again but I dont think itll work. -
Give player random leveled armor upon entering an area?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Okay I will try that, I will have to learn a little more about the whole quest thing though, also I cant seem to get the teams working, Ive tried setting up factions in a way to make the team I am on not attack me and the enemy team attack me but either both teams want to attack me whether I am spectating or on a team or they wont attack me at all. Also I use the Placeatme script for spawning the enemies, having the placeatme script place them at specific dummy portals in the arena. -
So this idea popped up into my head, an arena idea where theres teams and you fight on a team but rather then use your own items, your items are left behind and you are given leveled equipment for the fight, I know how to move the players items to a storage container, I know how to make a script that spawns enemies, and I know how to give items and take items to/from the player. But I dont know how to give items from a level list to the player and automatically equip them then when the round ends remove the given items.(I know the equip item script, but not how to use it with a leveled list item.) EDIT: Using the resetinterior command and a respawning dummy chest, I managed to get the random items thing working, but I want to be able to press a button and have all the combatants in the arena die and have their corpses removed,

make spell wear off early upon equiping items?
TerraMcCloud replied to TerraMcCloud's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Ah, I have not tried quest scripts yet, I have gotten the hang of some basic scripts though, I have the spell made already along with its main script(the spell temporarilly removes all the players items and adds some spells and sets a couple custom factions thats about it) but the player could just loot a marauder or bandit for armor and that would ruin the point of the spell, to make the player kind of a glass cannon while the spells in effect, also what kind of script could re-apply a buff over and over again? I'll try to look all around the construction set wiki and try to find one myself but if someone can tell me a possible script start then that would be nice. -
So I was thinking of a possible mage spell where you maybe cant equip armors of any kind but your magical abilities would increase temporarilly? The idea is however that upon equipping any armor(whether its heavy or light armor) that the spell would wear off, meaning you would be the squishy little mage that you are meant to be with the spell active. Just wondering if its possible to script.
