  1. Thanks for the info Striker! The BSA's will for sure need to be changed? Is my understanding of BSA redirection above incorrect? It's a topic I've had trouble wrapping my head around, but thought I finally got it. Darnit. :pinch: I *believe* the ESM date is fine as long as it isn't set to 1969 or 1970, which I'm told Oblivion interprets as null. IMO, it couldn't hurt to just set everything to 1/1/2006. I did that with the original bad date release & it worked out fine. Of course anything that changes the load order will redate the modified times of the ESPs, but no biggie there, that's what we want them to do anyway. Coincidentally, the only reason i didn't recommend File Date Changer is because Nir Sofer put up on his site that it's obsolete & to use Bulk File Changer. Personally, I think File Date Changer is easier to use, and has always worked just fine for me. Here's the link to Nir's site where you can get the file straight from him. Nothing against Softpedia, the download could be fine, I just don't trust those types of sites. (If anyone happens to go to NirSoft, I highly recommend checking out his other programs. He's got dozens or more very useful utilities. I think I've downloaded half his hard drive! LOL)
  2. I reinstalled via the non-Galaxy installer - setup_oblivion_1.2.0416_cs_(12788).exe - which I believe is the latest one, dated 9-21-17 (Which may be when I downloaded it, but it's modified date is that as well. It's set the date stamps on all the files, including BSAs, ESPs, and the ESM to 7-5-17. This fixed the null date stamp problem you're referring to. With Archive Redirection as the chosen form of archive invalidation, the newer timestamps shouldn't be a problem, as the INI tells Oblivion to look specifically for ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa first, which then causes it to redirect to the Textures folder before looking in the Textures BSA (which is what we want). If this is somehow causing a problem, it's very easy to change the modified dates. Use a free (and clean) utility like BulkFileChanger to change the Modified Date to 1-1-2006 on the BSA's. Optionally, the ESM & ESPs can be changed as well, but that shouldn't matter unless the old installer was used which sets the date to 1969.
  3. In response to post #54671888. I completely agree with all of your points! Too cluttered. Needs an option to disable or personalize certain UI elements. My eyes are drawn to everywhere but where the actual site functionality is!
  4. Hey everyone. Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition is on sale now at GOG for $8.99! (Steam currently wants $14.99) GotY includes the Bloodmoon andTribunal expansions, plus you'll get a free copy of Arena & Daggerfall! WOOT! The other Official DLC are free, and can be downloaded from Bethesda via UESP. I downloaded the whole Elder Scrolls series from GOG a few months ago & it's been great! I know if you're reading this, you probably already have a copy of Morrowind. I did too, but there's a few good reasons to pick up the GOG version instead. No DRM: For those who don't know, GOG sells LEGITIMATE games with no DRM. You can simply download, install, play, and uninstall all without the stupid disks. No going through a 3rd party interface. Unlike with Steam, GOG's version doesn't require you run it through Steam's application. Not going through Steam avoids numerous problems with Morrowind/Mods caused by it being installed to Program Files, which is where Steam installs to by default. (For those who don't know, moddable games should not be installed to Program Files or Program Files (x86) due to Windows UAC interference.) Just install the GOG version to someplace like C:\Games & you're golden!GOG does have an interface called "Galaxy" that you can use that is similar to Steam's, but it is entirely optional. I haven't tried it myself, but like that I'm not not FORCED to use it, unlike Steam, and I hear it has some useful features, like easy update installation, library management, etc. Also, if interested GOG has the following on sale too: Oblivion: Game of the Year Deluxe edition for $11.99. This is the version that contains ALL of the official DLC, so if you are/were confused by Steam/Bethesda's various versions - this is the one to get. Redguard for $2.99 (Includes Arena & Daggerfall) Battlespire for $2.99 (Includes Arena & Daggerfall) Morrowind GotY, Redguard, Battlespire, Daggerfall, & Arena can all be purchased at a discounted price of $14.97. Just go to one of the above links for Morrowind, Redguard, or Battlespire, and you'll find "Buy Series" below the main file. Not bad for 15 bucks! Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition for $11.99 (Includes all five of the Fallout 3 Game Add-on Packs + Arena & Daggerfall) Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for $11.99 (Includes all addons: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road, + Arena & Daggerfall) The Witcher games & expansions are all 50% off or more. 1-Enhanced, 2-Enhanced, 3-and DLCs as individuals, and 3-GoTY (Includes the base game, all expansions and additional content released to date including Hearts of Stone and the Blood & Wine expansions. See spoiler for more. Or, the whole schebang for $49.44. (See "Buy Series") Disclaimer: I'm in no way affiliated with GOG, or making any money off of promoting their stuff. I just want to bring this to people's attention because I think they're a great service!

To be fair, Steam is also having a sale for the same price, but unlike with Steam, GOG's version doesn't require you run it through Steam's application. In addition, you don't have to use a special OBSE Steam loader, which many people seem to be having problems with. Not going through Steam avoids numerous problems with Oblivion/Mods caused by it being installed to Program Files, which is where Steam installs to by default. 6. Just remember "they" equals a WHOLE LOT of good men & women trying their best to do a very difficult job under increasing scrutiny by a public that usually doesn't know the entirety of what is going on. The officer received an order to arrest the woman. This puts him in the difficult position of obeying an order which he may or may not have believed to be illegal, or refusing the order - at which point, there's no public scrutiny, this never becomes an issue, and he's fired or reprimanded for failure to obey a commanding officer. Yes, he made the wrong choice, but it's one I certainly don't envy. It's frustrating when so many officers & deputies do so many things right during years of service, and it's never shown. Then a very tiny minority of contacts go wrong and it's all over the news. I'm in no way defending the choice he made, or especially the order from his Lt. Just want to remind people that there's still a few good people out there trying to protect us.
  7. I certainly hope that's not the case. If I had such a thing, and the knowledge of how to port something to Japanese I'd gladly do it. Have you tried asking them on their Comments page, in public? I know many mod authors get a TON of private messages & some just tend to ignore them. Good luck, I hope you get some response.
  8. Sadly, this occurred where I live, and with a department I am very familiar with & have worked along side for more than a decade. They really made all of us look bad. It boggles the mind that this took place, and none of the other officers and deputies I've talked to about it can believe how trained officers could behave like this. No, I can't imagine they have any grounds for appeal. I think they're just wanting to keep their retirement, and attempting to protect themselves from the inevitable (and justifiable) civil rights lawsuit. It saddens me to see officers throw away their entire career, reputation, and family's income with one very stupid decision. Please everyone just try to remember that this is not representative of all law enforcement officers, nor even the majority.
  9. In response to post #50976092. #50976292, #50979777 are all replies on the same post. Hmm, good points. It's also been my experience that all-in-ones rarely do everything well. Looks like I'll still be using Wrye Bash in tandem with a mod manager. Or just WB like I'm doing now. Still will have to try the new mod manager though. Can't wait to see what the team comes up with!
  10. I hope this hasn't been asked/answered before. I couldn't find it using the forum search. Will Vortex be able to do things like merge aspects of esp's into something like a bashed patch they way Wrye Bash does, or have some sort of similar feature to reduce the number of esp's? Thanks for your hard work on this!
  11. Does exactly what it says. Easy installation. Endorsed. Thank you!
  12. @Striker: Thanks very much for going so in-depth, that's great information! I've heard of spell-stacking but was never quite sure how to make it work. Will definitely give it a try. @LFact: Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!! :D
  13. I apologize if this has been asked before (as i'm sure it has..) but I've been searching for several hours and can't seem to find anything. I'm looking for a mod, ini tweak, or something that would allow me to create a spell with an effect over 100. My goal initially was to make a drain fatigue spell that would bring the target's fatigue down far enough that they would fall unconscious. I created a spell with a drain fatigue 100 effect but that's not working. My reading indicates the fatigue has to fall below 100, so draining it down to zero isn't working. I did come across a mod that added a weapon that claimed it would 'knock out' an opponant but that's not really what I'm looking for. The more I think about it, the more I think I'd like to be able to add spell effects over 100 in general, and am thinking about other uses. I've got COBL, UOP, OBSE, & Elys Uncapper with Legendary Abilities, but they either don't do what I want or I don't know how to properly set them up. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
