As I've posted, ad infinitum/ad nauseum, I see the women of Skyrim as being pretty rough and beat up...at least the combat types. With that in mind, I've been searching for player companions, etc. that come closest to filling the bill in that regard. My list is pretty short, but here are a few:
"Falda the Shunned" by Gruntnut, "Sighne" by Azeneth, "Jette Krag-Jumper" by Bedevere, "Celenia" by Demideke, "Legate Titania Constantius" by Beth, and "Ursula Isenhand" by Falmer Bane.
All these women are among my current group of followers, though, as I'm gonna shoot for max level this time, they'll shortly be dismissed from my service and deactivated via NMM. They will, however, make a return to my gaming life in the future.

it has plenty of space for followers , it is close to whterun , has alot of sorage and all the crafting stations and even has a jail
consider the bath tubs as a reward for yout followers after a long day hunting their prey

well after 2 weeks it is going better now
learned how to use cover and so forth
i downloaded the FWE mod while this makes the game more hardcore i like the increased damage of weapons , meaning you can actually oneshot people and small creatures even when it works the other way round aswell and you can get one shoted aswell, but atleast my character dies less often now much less

what bethesda learned and probably already knew is that
is rgat while the console version pays fthe bills and future development it is the pc version and the modding community that made these games such succes stories , not only TES III, IV and V but also fallout 3
oy is what the modding community has done with these games that makes these fames so great and guarantees future succes
and bethesda knows this all too well
Even the ext generation of consoles have their limits so i am not expecting a very deep and very immersive vanilla version but a game that will have plenty of space to expand on by the modding community probably even more so than skyrim
I hope so anyway
i think we will know when fallout 4 comes out sometime next year
i wouldn't be suprised they already included alot of what they learned from TES V into that game

like the others wrote you do not have to join them and there are mods that allows you to kill them
on the other hand not joinin them will make one wordwall in accesible and you miss a good dwemer ruin
as far i know you can finish the main quest without ever to join any of the factions not even the college of winterhold or the companions
but you will miss out on some good shouts tho

a player house is personal choice , it has to fit my character
i can not see my hardcore nord barbarian living in a city house or the granmanors provided with hearthfire they just look not rugged enough
there are so many trally playerhouses available for any kinf of character inside towns and out side and the best are the small simple homes
last time i played the vanilla game i was amazed on how medioric skyrim actually is , amazing how the console version of this game was such a huge ducces.
or maybe we are just spoiled because there is such a triving and dedicated modding community
your point about dragons is correct in the vanilla game after a few dragons and levels they don't even are a threat anymore just a anoyance and another dragonsoul but that is with all combat in the vanilla version a banditchief before level 15 is deafly but after that well you know my point
that is why i so much like the several AI enchancements mods that are around
my message you have not played skyrim hardcore till you played it on a pc and modded
and i am really looking forward to if the rumours are right october next year (2015)

why not a combo a spellsword /battlemage
early on it is hard since you are constantly starved of magica
but once you get past that point it goes very well
use a combiation of one handedalternation /restoration and either use destuction/ conjuration or destruction /illusion
promise you it is alot of fun

Breton 10/10 :
- Best passiv ability by far . ( 25% magic resist which allow them to cap it ( the cap limit is 85% ) without using any enchants ) .
- One of the best activ ability ( With atronach perk or stone you can literally absorb 100% since it is uncapped , "only 80% if perk+activ )
- Good looking ( i prefer the human races overall )
- Small so smaller hitbox :pirate:
Orc 9/10 :
- They have no passiv ability but they have the most broken ability ingame : Berseker Rage .
- You are green .
Well now ratings drops hard :
Dunmer 7/10 :
-Pretty much useless ( well not at the start ) activ ability but fire resist pretty much counterbalance vampirism which makes them the second best vampire race after Breton .
Khajiit 5/10 :
-They are the only choice trully viable if you want to fight with your first alone .
Argonian 4/10 :
- Cuz you are a lizard you have one point . 3 points for the activ which is pretty stronk.
Nords 4/10 :
-Resist to frost is somewhat cool but thing is you will overcap it if you are vampire . But well you will cap it without any enchants . and if you are not a vampire it is actually pretty nice .
Well now ratings drops very hard :
Altmer 1/10 :
- Im sorry to say that but magicka is useless in skyrim because you will make enchants that totally anihilate the cost . Well i suppose you can use less enchanted stuff and use a bit of your magicka if you use altmers ... so yeah i give you two points minus one cuz of the looks .
Imperial 1/10 :
- Because you play with literally no bonuses . Which is cool if you want more "challenge" ( well skyrim isnt hard unless you use some mods that multiply dificulty to make it like good old oblivion with his x36 difficulty ) .
Bosmer 0/10 :
- Ugly , useless pasiv , close to useless activ ( tought fun ) .
Redguard 0/10 :
-Ho comon give stamina bonuses to black peoples is a so big stereotype , to bad a venison stew makes you able to chain power attack or else the activ could have been maybe usefull .
Now for the stones :
Lord 10/10 : Yep this is the best by far . Not for the armor that you can cap pretty early but for the magic resist : you are a breton ( or a doublebreton haha ) .
Atronach 9/10 : Only the absorbtion is revelant since magicka is useless . Thing is for some reasons magic resist > ABsorbtion . UNLESS you play with a shield and dat 70 % magic resist on it + the gift of mara for capping .
Steed stone 7/10 : SO DAMN USEFULL .
All training stones : 5/10 yep usefull .
Lady 2/10 : only one worth mentioning now for the little passiv .
All the activ stones : 0/10 . All of their power isnt unique and can be done early with other spells/items .
- -67698696/10 For the apprentice : Haha nice joke well if you are a breton and you want to troll with your 100% absorbtion it is usable but you will gain nothing from it anyway since magicka is useless .
your ratings are personal opinion and do not represent the true ratings
for a starting character the racial abillity may be pretty important but if you progress thru the game and you develop your character they abillity losses importance pretty fast
those 25ù resist for a breton are for a high level character useless since resists are capped at 80% ( correct me if i am wrongà any race can have max resust with rthe right perks and equipment
for standing stones again it is how and what kind of character you play and how far you are into the game the lord stone early in the game can be a huge different but for a high level character i would prefer the loverstone
so my opinion , how good is a race or standing stone all depends what and how you are playing
one thing i do not like in gaming is metagamming and people who spend more time in calculating the ultimate killing macne instead of true game immersion and fun

How good is Steam Mods, who Downloads them anyway.
I dont think TES 6 is going to be on Steam
I don't even think ther will be a alternative for many of the pc users , in most shops they do not even sell pc games anymore , just console games
anyway if people did their research we will probably see fallout 4 being anounced in a few months and released , if the rumours are correct in october 2015
so looking back at their development history i do not think we will see the next TES before 2017
sorry guys but i really am looking forward to fallput 4 tes 6 can wait a few more years

i had set it to hard , i was under the impression they used the same scales in FO3 as they did in the ES series , obvious i was mistaken on that
anywat i did some more of morias shopping and got to explore alot more of the area around megatown i l getting there

so i recently bought Fallout 3
beautifull game and i don(t really know why i waited so long to buy it
Anyway game works oerfect now and after a few hours on a test character i started a serious play thru
but i stumbled on a problem
i got to scared to leave megatown , especially after my trip to the supermarket where my character probably died a dozen times
anyway i am not going to give up but i could use some directions
maybe i should lower the difficulty rating for a while aswell

Huh? Bethesda forums is the best place for help imo and/or the steam forums since yours is a steam setup. They may not be the friendliest people in the world but when it comes to setting up Fallout 3 and NV bethesda forums has all the information you need. Remember, as many people complain about their forums, just as many complain about the forums here as well. Hmm... not sure if that made any grammaticle sense... very tired here but I hope you get the point and that is it is very likely that the same people who help you out here are the people that would have helped you out there :wink:

Edit: Keep in mind that Fallout 3 is an old game and wasn't built for our new age computers so it is very likely that there will be a few more issues in the near future.
ooh do not get me wrong most people on the bethesda forums are great i just have a serious difference on opinion with some of the moderators and sick and tired of the political correct censorship on the beth forums
even the word fanboy is censored there , probably to protect the kiddies in their moms bassement from the cruel real world realities and RL interacions and opinions
One of the problems i have with bethesda is their policy of making a game for the console and then port it to pc
while i understand this policy buisiness wise itsometimes creates problems for the pc users
their games make money because of th consoles but you really only played their games for real on a pc and modded and that is why their games keep selling is because they are so highly moddable

some of you fanboys will be so disapointed with ESO it almost hurts me aswell
If you really think you will have a fantastic real TES RPG experiment you are wrong
the last MMO RPG died when sony decided to make starwars galaxies a themepark
there are NO MMORPGS any more
every mmo what is on the market now atre combatsimilators where the only thing you fo is grind endless series of scripted dungons get some new gear level up and do it all again
only this time they stamped the TES name on it other wise this game is just another generic fanrasy mmo in a generic fantasy worl with the predictable classes and predictable playstyles
Yes the game is well made and with a high end pc it really looks great , but great looks doesn't make a great game
and with the microtransactions they already started i fear this will end up in a pay to win in 6 months and a F2P in less than a year

I don t want to set the world on fire but i could use some advice
this weekend i fannaly bought fallout on steam
the full package with all dlcs
( i really need a break from TES V)
so I installed it and tried to play it
Well of course it didn't work
it took me 10 minutes to google it and solve the problem
what would we do without google these days
So ctd solved i started playing trying to get to know the game etc
but in the 2 hours i playd the game frooze ip twice
i tried to google it why but really didn't found a answer
So anybody out there who knows why this happen and what to do about it
it is a clean install , game workd perfect otherwise

i have one of my characters that is basicly a 2 handed wielding nord who
doesn't use any magic at all only uses enchanting and alchemy
it is fun but sometimes pretty frustrating

Real life historical bows and crossbows are inferior to melee weapons aswell, unless used in mass formations or with spcific tactics( ' parthian, and mongol horse archers are the first thing that come to my mind , as a hunting weapons and do not forget that these weapons are basicly all hunting weapons they do their job fine but against another human who is armoured as a shield and is aware that somebody is shooting at him it is a complete different story
ingame missile weapons shine when you either sneak ( tripple damageà or when used in softening up your enemy before it can engage in melee

Skyrim:
- the magic system was downright terrible. No scaling, the msater spells didn't feel "epic!".
- Archmage, yet NPCs keep telling me to visit the college. I mean.. what?
- Perk system felt unrewarding. You can max everything, yet have no benefit from it?
- Crafting unbalanced and rather poor.
- Unique weapons not really worth their attention. Look at Fallout --> A unique fun is actually unique, and worth more than anything else.
- Unmemorable generic sidequests that sent you do dungeons.
- Storylines were generally very small. You barely entered the college, and you were Archmage, for instance.
- Direct port from Xbox360 to PC. Even with the texture pack: The texture looks bad.
Fallout: New Vegas:
- Ended with a too big "BANG". You barely get to see the final boss before you got to fight him. Could easily have pushed that further down, and make the ending more epic.
- Too much ammo. I for one had way too much sniper ammo in the end.
- To many generic locations with no rewards. I am an explorer, and hate finding an empty location.
- Better travel system. Sure, fast travel is okay. But damn, why can't I repair a broken car, or bike, find some fuel and get some speed?
- Short questlines. Brotherhood of steel ended all of a sudden, then no more mention of them.
i would be very suprised if they NOT fix that in the next TES which i think will be very similair in concept as skyrim
and with the next generation of consoles around the corner wemight even have a more complete vanilla game
Bethesda tends to listen to the fans and tried to improve their game im hope full that by 2017 we will have another one in a thousand games we will keep playing for years

Since ESO is run by Zenimax, why cant Bethesda release a TES Game by Next Year aswell if they are ready, why wait till ESO is old news.
More importantly, why is there no news of a New Game from Bethesda, weather its Fallout 4 or any other Game by Bethesda.
Are they Broke or something, why simply cut Skyrim and say they are done with it.
the release of ESO and its succes or more likely failure has absolutely no effect on what bethesda is working on at the moment
development of that mmo was given to another gamestudio zenimax just so that bethesda which is the most succesfull developers studio of this whole group could concentrate on a next gigantic marketing succes

I just built a system specifically for Skyrim here is what I put together
I am running around 250 mods...
4770 Haswell running at 4.2 overclocked
Maximus VI extreme board
EVGA GTX 780 overclocked
Gskill 16 ram at 2400
250 gb samsung SSD
this setup runs Skyrim at ultra settings constantly putting out more than 60 fps have
to use vsync to keep the water from flickering...
Havent seen the CPU hit 50c running the game yet ran OC scanner at 1920 and I got around
180 fps........
I have a I72660 and at 200 mods it was working fine but struggled when lots of stuff was on the
screen....and I had a 2 gb card which was being maxed out also...
havent seen the gtx 780 reach 100 percent yet...
one thing that really helped out was the SSD makes the game run a lot smoother because
the transfer of files from the SSD to MEM is instant makes a world of difference....

i agree what the poster above me said
but one warning
you can have a top of he line gamming rig but if you mess up the load order of have a mod that is incombattible with another mod the game will not work
i have near 150 mods installed
1/3 are beauty mods that enchave the look of the game
1/3 are overhauls and immersion mods
and the rest are armor and weapon mods
and with those recent patches and tools available the game works perfect with little loss of performance and rarely have a ctd during gameplay
except when i first start up the game it takes a while before the game loads and sometimes ctds instead

probably end of this year or next year thay may tell us what they are working on but i do not expect a real preview for the next TES before late 2016 and with some luck maybe 2017

Amazing how far this game has come from its original launch
vids like that are what made this game and this series the succes they are
while i am not bashing the console players it is my believe that you have not played skyrim untill you played skyrim modded same goes for oblivion
sometimes i wonder if the people at bethesda especially tod

when i restarted a few months again i basicly reinstalled the whole game from start
I already had a good idea what mods i wanted and made a mist
so after installing the whole game started with the basics like SKE skyui and some of the performance enchaters like the ctd and memory boost and so forth
it doesn't take long to install those
most of your old mods probably have a more uptodate version anyway

i hate being vampire lord and having weakness to sunlight and not regain stamina etc. is there a mod that remove that weakness? because i am mage and need magicka regen
whats the point
i endorse better vampires as the poster above me
but trying to cope with the downsides of being a vampire is part of the fun and challenge
things like only traveling by night timing it right so you are inside a dungon or cave vefore dawn, making sure you have multiple safe shelters all over skyrim etc etcc
anyway yes better vampire s is the mod you are looking for

it is a game and not some historical combat simulator
i know pretty well medevial swords are pretty useless against armoured opponents , it was on of the main reasons they started ro disapear from the battlefield untill they became populair afain as a cavalry weapon early 17 th century ( europe anyway)
and please do not mention, japanese swords most of what you know is myth and became just as useless as the european swords if the japanese h&ad developed metal plate armour aswell but they didn't , not in a way as the evolution of armour in europe
axes and maces became the main weapon of choice with a whole array of pole arms with the halbers and its varatuins as the ultimate canopener
but like i said this is a game not real historical
