Even scaling Skyrim up 500 fold to give Solitude a comparative population to London England in 1000AD 1 Million septims could purchase a large chunk of estates The Blue palace being but a fraction of the 1 Million septims. While I am on a new play through now in my last Hording play through I had close to 25 Million septims, I had every single armor available in game in my homes and owned every home fully upgraded. Money was nothing. After playing that play through I realized that money really doesn't matter in skyrim, I can live out of a barrel in Whiterun very happily, or a tent if with frostfall and iNeed. I'd like to have to pay taxes in towns, and as my notoriety increases to gain access to towns paying homage to the people in charge becomes expected. As for what I'd do if I had a Million septims and could do as I wish in Skyrim. I'd probably buy Fort Greymoor since I like living in WhiteRun the Fort is close by, I'd venture to say I'd need 4000 Quarried stone to repair it, so that is $8000, being disheveled I should be able to buy the rights to the Fort for $25000, Buying all new furniture I'll put at $20,000, since I like lavish things. I think I'd have to dig a moat around the Fort as well, and fill it with slaughterfish That would be a lot of giant slaves to get that done so lets say $100,000 I'd still be weathly enough for servants and such, but I'd turn that Fort into a pretty palace.

Or people who would rather Play Skyrim instead of adjust and tweek things constantly? I purchased Skyrim in March of this year. Because of loadorder tools, I've had 4 solid play throughs using mods. My onboarding time was minimal to get the enjoyment out of the game. They do the Good enough Job. I equate a load order tool to an iPhone, It is for idiots. it does things good enough to get buy but if you really need contact management and a communications tool you would purchase anything else. But why bother if you just want something simple that does a good enough job?
-
I didn't. I don't use either one of those 2 load order sorting tools anymore. By now I'm more then capable of determining for myself which plugin should be placed where. So your comment was basically. Don't use Load order tools, they are for simpletons?
-
So have you done a TES5Edit check comparing a BOSS load order to a LOOT load order? What were the results? My primary concern with my load order is that after building a bashpatch my game will actually be playable and have the additions to the game I wanted by selecting mods. That is the ONLY reason I care about load order. so I can play the game. thus fewer CTD.
-
I like Whiterun, because that is my main player home, because it is central so I can stop off and drop off and sell my goods when crossing the province. I DO wish Whiterun had a Riften like under city, and additional points of entry beyond the front gate and my cave leading into my house. But comparing all the cities Whiterun remains my favourite.
-
How did it butcher it? What new problems did you get in game? While my Load Order was very different between Loot & Boss, when actually playing the game I got fewer CTD's using Loot vs Boss with the same mods installed.

Skyrim wont start with mods on Windows 8.1
deRusett replied to grift48's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I run my game on win8.1 with no problems. I suggest you reinstall the game and make sure you Do not install it in the default Program Files(86) section. C:\Users\UserName\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common that way there are no read/write permission issues as Program Files will have. additionally Run either BOSS or LOOT (I use LOOT) to ensure your load order is correct. -
Do you think this laptop is good for skyrim?
deRusett replied to Paladin555's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Most certainly will I have an i7-4700HQ with a GeForce750m in my laptop and run 90ish mods and everything is on medium/high settings. Though I do question your choice of an Aleinware notebook for college, usually you're paying a premium for Aleinware you could likely get a better Asus, or Lenovo notebook with better build quality and better keyboard for the same money. -
Should immersive creatures be used with monster mod?
deRusett replied to refmon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I am on my second play through using both mods with a bash patch and have no issues. I prefer using the Lore friendly Monster Mod but it doesn't really matter which you use. I am using Monster Mod Skyrim Immersive Creatures High Level Enemies - SIC Giantess - (Adds female Giants to each giant camp so camp sizes vary from 2 - 6 giants now instead of 1-2) Frost Giants in the Cold - (adds Frost Giants in snow covered areas ) Organized Bandits ( adds more Bandits, and makes them smarter) Sands of Time ( Mod baddies again! plus in town attacks since random vampire attacks by dawnguard aren't enough) Dragon Lords (adds a bunch of challenging dragons with unique scales ) All of these work together on my medium powered rig so long as I have a bashpatch -
Why do you care so much about lore-friendly mods?
deRusett replied to Joedpa's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I don't really care about the Lore. I play the game and enjoy it. but that said I still do tend to lean on Lore friendly mods. I installed a Monster mod a little bit ago, it has a Lore friendly and a regular version, I tried the regular version but switched to the Lore Friendly version later in my play through because I felt the dinosaurs were out of place and detracted from my enjoyment. The mods I use are usually gameplay mods, I like a more involved crafting/enchanting system I like to remove the tedium of things while still making things fun and challenging. I don't fault people for not liking the same mods I do. nor do I fault people who want to have dragons look like Toy trains.- 32 replies

Difference in motherboard will be marginal if at all. Except your reliability and how things communicate with eachother. A quality motherboard is going to have better interconnect between components, it is going to have better thermal management which matters more in heavy gaming when your rig gets hot. In the 15 (yikes) years I've been building rigs I've never spent less than $100 on a motherboard. Motherboard and powersupply are 2 things I didn't want to fail and have to replace later.

Mods That I Should Download For Roleplay
deRusett replied to FrisbeDoge's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31799/? Traps Make Noise - More Dangerous Traps by kryptopyr This mod makes the traps actually hurt you, and warns the bandits that you set them off. Piratelords Loot Adjustments by Piratelord This changes the loot found in barrels, and makes the stacks of crates found all over skyrim actually lootable. this really makes it worth while to look around for loot. You can go crazy with immersion if you want, Read the compatibility lists for any mod you choose like the above mentioned Frostfall, that will give you ideas of mods other people have paired up with the mod you've chosen. -
Buildable Chests and Containers with Advanced Placement by retakrew7 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32676/? would also be an option, you can build a chest and bring it with you and drop them where you want.

Realistic Hardcore Playthrough Help/Feedback?
deRusett replied to MysteriousSquall's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Well you certainly can get tools to do exactly that and merge the esm files. but what what the basics of the patch do is allow you to have multiple mods that address the same thing working together my merging level lists Say you have 3 mods. each mod adds dragon Loot, Mod 1 Dragonloot Mod 2 Ultimate dragon loot Mod 3, Enchanted dragon loot. If you don't have a bashpatch the ONLY Mod that is actually doing anything is the 3rd Mod because it overwrites Mod 1 and Mod 2 being last in the build order. But with a Bash patch dragons get ALL 3 loots added to them, as the level lists get merged, you still have 3 esm's but all 3 are actually doing something It will also tell you if you've missed a dependency which could cause conflicts. -
@mainframex it doesn't have to be Monster Mod OR Immersive Creatures, you can have both at the same time, meaning even more baddies to fight, but I do recommend the Lore version of Monster Mod. the dinosaurs installed in the regular one feel so out of place and they don't scale well with a higher level character. I realize why I use multiple rings. I have a few mods that ad rings, so I have a giant slayer ring, a dragon slayer ring, faster running, water breathing, once that enhance different play styles with 3 minor enchantments each, with 1000's of rings to choose from it's hard not to keep trying them. I can't help with lighting unfortunately, I HATE followers, and horses, I'm a lone traveler in game so I never have to fight with torches on followers

Realistic Hardcore Playthrough Help/Feedback?
deRusett replied to MysteriousSquall's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I HIGHLY suggest you get Wyre and create bashed patches, you don't need ANY skills, it takes all of 2 minutes to create the patch from your load list. What a bashpatch does is merge overlapping things automatically which gives you a cleaner modded game. Took me about 30 min of reading when I first started with skyrim to figure out Wrye, which I only use for patches since I use NMM and LOOT for everything else -
Have you looked at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15317/? Hunters Treehouse by Stevo_the_gamer Also look at Buildable Chests and Containers with Advanced Placement by retakrew7 You could find a nice spot someplace even the river side shack and add storage to it using this so you don't need loading screens in and out.

Realistic Hardcore Playthrough Help/Feedback?
deRusett replied to MysteriousSquall's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@MysteriousSquall Do you use Wrye? and make Bash patches? because you mention that you can't get more than 1 hunting mod to work. 2 builds ago I had Hunterborn by dragonsong Hunting in Skyrim - A Hunting Guild by B1gBadDaddy as well as a few Archery related items as I was a bow hunter, They worked with RND, I sorted with BOSS back then. -
I've just been playing with these 3 mods, added them mid game to a build with about 100 mods. including SIC & HLE http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55576/? Giantess - Monster Mod Plugin for More Female Giants by Nerd of Prey http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35631/? Monster Mod by Dogtown1 and Ironman5000 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23899/? Frost Giants in the Cold by David Brasher I like Giants, they are fun to kill, but you don't have to kill them if you don't want to. With these 3 mods I get MORE giants around the world, I also get more giants in each camp, with the standard Male giants and then female giants added to the camp. I installed this mode http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12567/? More Giants Toes by Omeletter to go along side the previous 3 mods but it hasn't worked out as I liked, I wanted to Harvest 2 toes from each giant, but it seems to only let me harvest 5, no matter the esp I select. so I can't say it is a flawless stable mod. But I like it none the less. These mods I've had almost every build and play through http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/30212/? Achieve That by 3JIou // Mini quest/goals like killing 50 bunnies, or Killing a dragon before level 5, there are perks for doing stuff if you want them, or just use it as mini goals, I rarely cash in all my perks. http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/20889/? Bellyaches New Dragon Species and Ohdaviing Replacer by Bellyache // Makes Dragons better. I mix this will all sorts of dragon mods http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/11158/? Breezehome FullyUpgradable by Sku11M0nkey // By far my favourite Player home. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26355/? EK_RingLimiter by ekroemer // This lets me fiddle with different game styles and combats, I usually have 8 rings enabled, but it can break things a little if you enable 2 Rings of the same base, like if you enchant 2 gold rings, wearing them at the same time breaks stuff, so do 1 gold, one Gold Ruby and you're good to go. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36849/? Immersive College of Winterhold by Grantyboy050 // Makes the college beautiful, and you can level up your mage faster if you play as a mage having trainers available to you. Plus the Author is very active and listens to posters. he added a chest for me within weeks of requesting it. I've recently added http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4955/? 83Willows 101BugsHD Butterfly Dragonfly Luna-Moth Torchbug by 83Willow // This adds bugs, lots of bugs, I like that butterfly catching isn't as frustrating as in vanilla because you've got more clusters, and it adds some distractions when I'm taking aim with my bow seeing things moving off in the distance or near me. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49983/? Elemental Arrows by Fuma // This mod is a lot of fun if you want to be an Archer. Steam Arrows packing a huge punch for that first sneak shot on a dragon, or shooting an exploding fire arrow into a crowd of bandits to do splash damage before pinging them off from your perch.

Unofficial Patches - "Legendary Edition" or Separate Files?
deRusett replied to Arthmoor's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
People are far more likely to be vocal in defense, vs vocal in offense. Any project manager will tell you that people will be very vocal in protecting their interests while they wont be very vocal in improving their interests. In this case those who did NOT want to be required to have all DLC's active at all times were vocal in protecting their interests. If you looked at the number of people who commented against the merge against the number of votes against it should be 25-35% of the voters against actually made a comment, but the voters for should be around 3-5% if it fits with the usual model. -
Unofficial Patches - "Legendary Edition" or Separate Files?
deRusett replied to Arthmoor's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
That may be so, but I think the following numbers are more telling. These are unique downloads as of tonight of the last uploaded file. These numbers would more closely reflect the active population of users since the USKP patches were uploaded less than 20 days ago. Patch Unique Upload_Date USKP 70196 July-8-2014 UDGP 58265 July-6-2014 UHFP 53437 July-6-2014 UDBP 54653 July-7-2014 While the three DLC are fairly close together, there is a large margin of just USKP users. Enough of a margin to at least warrant a standalone USKP with the DLC merged. I think this was suggested once but I do not know what was said about the validity at the time. Anyway, something to think about I guess... By your numbers 77% of users have all 3 DLC's which is even greater than the 65% over my 33hour plot. So the majority benefits as does the development team. 2 separate files does not solve the goal of a single testing environment for the patches it would still require multiple testing environments. -

unique downloads Total downloads looks like this Skyrim - 2681805 DwnGrd -1629783 ( 61% of Skyrim) DgnBrn - 1388417 (52% of Skyrim) HerFire - 1303518 (49% of Skyrim) (10:25am EDT July 24th) So I ran the numbers again Skyrim 2687540 DwnGrd 1633869 (61% of Skyrim) DgnBrn 1392455 (52% of Skyrim) HerFire 1307258 (49% of Skyrim) @ 7:15pm EDT July 25th So in 33hours or so 71% of people who downloaded the Main file downloaded Both DwnGrd and DgnBrn, but only 65% downloaded Herfire. So the community is moving to a greater percentage of owning all 3 vs not which this demonstrates. -

I feel a little bit of the same way that there aren't enough GOOD quests. but it doesn't really bother me, I want to beable to pull down evil deadra statues. I want to beable to tell off a Deadra when I wont complete their quest and it not be in the failed quest spot, but a non accepted quest spot. I would love to have more helping quests, and crafting quests. Craft 100 complete sets of armor for <civil war faction of choice> or Make 100 soups to Feed the poor of <insert city/town>. Capture and imprison thieves vs killing them. Lots of things I wish could give me the option to be less violent. Though I still want to beable to cut a guys head off or sneak up and slit his throat should I feel it.
