  1. It's possible that one of these (FM - UNP Merchants.esp, 1111mymerchant.esp, Personal_Merchant.esp) could be your problem. I don't use any of them so I couldn't say for definate but as they alter merchants they seem the most likely place to start. Is it only the Mages Guild vendors that won't sell? Silly question; are you a member of the college yet? I go on about TESEDIT a lot but using that to search for anything altering the Mages Guild factions/NPCs/scripts will make the process of finding the culprit much quicker & easier.
  2. Re-install the mods and your quicksave should work again. Did you create a new game to test uninstalling both of the files? If the script is related to one of those if you start a new game and then disable you will still have the script in your game. It may be worth looking through your Skyrim/Data/Scripts folder to see if there is a script called zz_ENC_TorchReset, if you can find it you may be able to tie it to a particular mod. What problems is this causing?
  3. It's probably a mod you have uninstalled. Although you have two torch mods (People Have Torches.esp torches for realistic lighting.esp) that I could see so maybe its them? You could have orphaned a script by updating one of them. Try starting a new game with those two active, then do the same uninstalling one and then the other to see if you can pin it down to one of those mods.
  4. Anything below 15mb is normal. If I start a new game and do nothing except get to the point in Helgen which allows saving my file will be around 5-6mb, and I don't suffer from save game bloat. The last batch of saved games you posted look fine, you would normally see a massive increase per save file if you have a bloating issue. You should delete the bloated file, there is no way to recover it the best you can hope for is rebuilding your character quickly with console commands or the levelers tower. This is disappointing but you have to take it on the chin, at least with Skyrim the 'quick save corruption' that plagued Morrowind to Fallout NV is gone (or at least less apparent) I didn't play Oblivion for months after a 400+ save got corrupted. From now on you should be very scrutinous of mods you install, update or disable, and test them on a 'dummy' save preferably. It's time consuming but not nearly as much as it is fixing the problem and starting from scratch.
  5. ATTK will never overload the CPU. I'm not overclocking anything. Just stealing cycle time from everyone else. As far as the CPU functions go. Overload was probably a bad term to use. I wasn't intending on giving misinformation about your mod it just seemed irresponsible for me to recommend your mod without giving a warning of what you warn of: "Closing Steam while you play is not completely recommended, it can/may lead to in game problems and/or save corruption. Increasing Game priority can/may lead to shorten CPU life. Increasing Game priority can/may lead to shorten GFX card life. Pushing your system beyond its capabilities can/may lead to shorten Hardware life/Hardware Damage. Priority settings are critical. This software is provided 'as-is', without any express or implied warranty. In no event shall the authors be held liable for any damages arising from the use of this software." For the record your ATTK loader works very well for me (thank you) but I'm still cautious of how high I'm willing to go with the settings as I don't want to risk damage to my PC while its working well as it is. It would probably be fine but its a risk I won't take and that is what I was getting at.
  6. Easiest way to find out whats causing the problem is to use TESEDIT (TESEDIT is your friend). If you start that program, load ALL of your mods (could take a few minutes) expand Dawnguard, go to Non-Player Character folder and expand that and look for 'DLC1EncSprigganEarthMother' as per your example. On the right side of the screen it will show you all the information relating to that NPC and further right it will show all the mods effecting it. This should help you find out specifically what mod is causing the problems so you know where to start.
  7. For me personally, WATER & SkyTEST caused me lots of problems (not saying their mods are bad, just along with everything else it didn't work well). It could be a mod you have uninstalled that has caused the problem. If there is an orphaned script that is constantly running and adding to your save file your load order will not help you find it, have you deactivated many mods with this save? To rule this out you should try starting another new game to see if the problem persists.
  8. Better to have one's head than to be able to save though?
  9. SMBN refers to the 'Story Manager Branch Node' group, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've looked through my folders and can find anything with that form ID. I don't use BOSS myself, with most mod managers you can just click and drag the .esp file to the bottom. If there isn't a facility for that with BOSS either disable it and use NMM, or alter it manually: go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Skyrim, open the load order .txt file and move your newly created file to the bottom of that list. Use ctrl+f to find it if your list is long, remember to delete the original when you move it. <-- this should work although I've never had to use it myself.
  10. It's more likely to be a texture/mesh for either your face or head gear that is causing the problem. But no, I've updated SKSE recently and had no problems.
  11. It sounds as though a mod has conflicted with that save, probably a mod that alters marriage/followers/Ysolda herself. If you can think of any mod that you have which alters those either uninstall it or re-install to see if that fixes the problem. Failing that you could try making an override .esp file to reestablish all the necessary information for marriage and load this last in your load order. To make an override .esp: make a blank .esp file in the creation kit, just open it, load files, then save. Use TESEDIT to copy folders from Hearthfires.esm into your new .esp as a deep override (the file you are copying to needs to be lower in the load order than the one you are copying from). I don't have this problem so I can't test it for you but I'd imagine the folders you would need to copy are- Dialog Topic & Branch & View, Non-Player Character, Quest, Relationship, Story Manager Branch & Event & Quest. This is a bit over the top but I don't know specifically where the problem would be, try them one at a time if you like. Lastly you could try re-compliling all the HearthFire scripts. Keep in mind this will probably break any mod which alters any of them, and therefore completely balls up your save. To do that BACKUP your whole scripts folder, open the Source folder and clear all the loose files, extract the Hearthfire folder into the Source, open the Creation Kit (you don't need to load any files just open it) then click Gameplay- Compile Papyrus Scripts. ------------- Use this at your own risk though, you will probably fix this one problem and be left with another dozen to fix.
  12. Try using the console to up your Smithing skill a little and go from there. I think the command is 'player.advskill smithing 1' or something. Keep in mind that '1' doesn't necessarily mean one level increment, it varies per skill as some can take a value of '50' and only increase one level. Save before trying this, in case you increase too much.
  13. Helgen is known to cause problems with mods. I can't remember the specifics but it's something along the lines of the way the whole place works (at the start) is unlike the rest of the game altogether. You may want to try disabling mods that you don't need right at the start until you can get past Helgen. That said I'm running 162 ESM/ESP mods as well as several texture/misc mods, and I can play through Helgen without any problems, so it's possible one of your mods is broken or needs updating to 1.8. I've found 1.8 onwards to be much more stable than 1.5-1.7, although it was much more stable for me in the early days with reversing dragons.
  14. You shouldn't need to reinstall the game, start a new game though if you are disabling ESP mods. Installing 'lite' texture packs could mean you are just applying HD textures to 70/100 objects instead of the full amount. It's something you'll have to experiment with to find a good balance, for me I only use HD (2048+) textures for interiors or uncommon armors/objects but I decided on this so I can run warzones without major problems. I can run the Official HD Pack fine but I believe those textures are 1048? Keep in mind that mods that add lots of new objects to cells (7k Whiterun for example) will also impact your performance HD or not. The only booster out of your list that I have used is HiAlgoBoost, this works for me. I also use ATTK http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27959 which boosts performance quite a bit BUT be wary of what settings you change, if you overload the CPU too much for too long you could find yourself needing a new one. Skyrim is quite CPU intensive so if you are in a position to buy a new one without problems then it would help with your stuttering. My CPU is an i7 SandyBridge @4.1, it can handle most things but as I've said my system can't manage all HD & Warzones all at the same time without serious lag or stuttering. I wouldn't recommend kitting your PC out only for Skyrim though, it's only a DX9 game on 32bit (doesn't make use of tesselation or more than 4gb of RAM/ DX11 can render higher quality for less resources) so you would soon find it's not your system holding you back but the game engine. If you have any .ini tweaks I would double check them also.
  15. Maximum resolution for a lot of armors or exterior spaces will cause stuttering. You need to either calm your HD mods down to just a few, or try lower resolution textures. I would only recommend HD textures (without a top of the line PC) for interiors or some armors depending on what your machine can handle. In your list of mods I'm not sure if you have any memory taxing mods, you should check as this will also cause stuttering. A 560ti 1GB isn't enough for full HD textures on everything while still keeping decent FPS. Pre-patch 1.5 it was possible for me, on a OC 570amp 2GB, but now it becomes unplayable. Your RAM could do with upgrading also if you are using memory intensive mods. Skyrim is able to use 4GB of RAM yet you have 4GB for your whole system (Skyrim, Windows, Steam, ETC). Your PC is more than capable of running Skyrim with mods, just probably not ALL of the ones you want. On a side note, I found Skyrim to be slightly more stable when I increased the voltage on my card (this was for DX11 games to be more stable). You may want to consider doing that, but if you are in doubt; don't. I only recommend it as the GTX 560 is known to be too low on volts for DX11, it may help with Skyrim. I increased mine by about 0.7. Hope this helps.
  16. I'd do as jhncanson said but also check your Graphics drivers are up to date, and check that your GPU is within the minimum requirements for this game. Make sure you don't just 'uncheck' mods when you are looking for a cause to a problem, you need to uninstall it completely as if it replaces textures (such as fog, see below) you will still have the same problem. I remember a similar problem with Oblivion and Nvidia cards where if you looked in a certain direction the screen would black out. If none of the above work then try one of these mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29253 or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9571 as the problem with Oblivion seemed to be caused by cells with fog, perhaps removing it will fix your problem.
  17. Do you have a bounty in Whiterun? Do the other NPCs, besides Vilja and Lydia, fight back? To narrow the problem down I'd recommend going to all the settlements and seeing if you have the same problem. If it is only Riverwood you could try adding your character and your companions to the Riverwood (maybe Whiterun) faction. I'm not sure of the faction ID so look around or use the console 'help riverwood' and look for a FACT line for Riverwood.
  18. I'm not entirely sure why, but Steam seems to require you to go online every so often. I assume to make sure you are still using that PC. If you don't want Skyrim to patch use Skyrim Unplugged ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12744 ) for when you do need to go online as Steam's "Do not automatically update this game" doesn't work. It has been reported on the mod page that it doesn't work but 1.3 still works for me.
  19. In the console type: ' getglobalvalue wiwaitdragon ' if this value is less than 3 that is your problem. Either find the mod which has changed it or use the console to alter it ' set wiwaitdragon to 3 ' but you would have to do this on every start up. Edit: I've also found that timescale's below 10 cause problems with dragon spawns, check that also ' getglobalvalue timescale '.
  20. Have you tried disabling all mods, to see if it's a mod problem? As I read it you turned them off one by one you're better off disabling them all if you haven't done so. As you only have a few and are if you are using NMM I'd say uninstall them and re-install as there could be a dodgy script file planted by one. I've had problems with Quest & Midas Magic myself in the newer updates, nothing against their work, but I would have immense bugs and crashes with them enabled.
  21. I had this with vanilla Skyrim, does it crash at the same point or in different places? At the same point: Sounds daft but if it's in the same point try saving incrementally as you progress past that point, or looking at the floor as you do. Different points: Check mods, especially Ice retextures.
  22. Have you tried disabling Anti-aliasing? I vaguely remember something similar with FNV.
  23. What graphics card do you have? If there aren't any driver updates then clear the ones you already have and re-download the newest one. Re-install 'dotnetFX' and DX 10, both can be found in your Skyrim folder where the .exe is. If it says you have a newer version clear it and re-install. Hopefully someone else can give you an idea because I'm running out....?
  24. The creation kit uses the same assets of Skyrim so you should have errors like that fed back in the CK. This does however narrow the potential cause down as I assume you only activated "Skyrim.ESM & Update.ESM"? If thats the case it should not be a mod and is likely to be corrupted/damaged Skyrim files. The only other things I can suggest is disabling the HD txt pack if you have it, delete Texture.BSA & re-download, completely re-install Skyrim (be sure to clear the steamapps/common/skyrim folder afterwards). Obviously check if the problem persits with each step so you do not take the next one needlessly. I have put the above in time order, so the first will be quickest and a total re-install of Skyrim will really depend on your bandwidth speed. As it seems to be a Skyrim issue I would recommend downloading the entire game through Steam, it is a pain and takes long but if you are using a backup or DVD potentially the problem will be contained in that media too. After doing a re-install check the problem in vanilla Skyrim before installing mods. If this does still not fix it I can only assume part of the patch is in-compatible with your system, keep checking the manufacturers website for your video card to see if they release and updates or beta drivers. To my knowledge there is no way to roll back a patch effectively.
  25. Check your graphics drivers are up to date. If that doesn't help then disable all your mods and see if the problem persists. Delete your Skyrim prefs & ini and re-download. If still no joy re-download the Meshes.BSA. If one of them doesn't fix it then I have no idea.
