  1. You can load Skyrim from different HDDs using 'mklink' http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753194(v=ws.10).aspx although I've never tried it with a persistent install after reformatting the hard drive, I would think you would have problems with Steam possibly. This would work with all programs but any registry files would not be preserved. The only way I could see you being able to pull this off and retain all the important files would be to make a home sever (separate PC). As for NMM, I believe if you copy the 'Mods' & 'Install Info' folders somewhere and link the new path up with NMM it works. I deleted the Overwrites and .BAK files in the Install Info folder as it was for a new Skyrim installation.
  2. You should try using Version Control through the Creation Kit http://www.creationkit.com/Version_control , or use TES5EDIT. One of these should make it quicker to merge changes but neither method is flawless in my experience with them.
  3. I believe code 2 is a missing master file, this would explain why Skyrim and TESEDIT are both crashing on you. Just look above the line with that error and the last file it attempted to load should be what you are missing.
  4. I don't really have much of a problem with either side I just can't help the Thalmor regardless of what character I play, the Stormcloak rebellion seems to aid the Thalmor above any other race or faction so I can't support them. I think I said this already today..
  5. Do you have any active spell effects ?(far right of the magic tab), try removing all non vanilla ones.
  6. Do you have spike.esm still though? I think quite a few mods use it, the only one I can think of is Immersive Weapons. If you still have it try removing it (bear in mind it will be a master for the mod it relates to), if you don't have it that could be what your problem is; did you remove GDO during the game you are playing now?
  7. It may be worth looking at GDO- Guard Diologue Overhaul. I only mention it as I believe the spike.esm associated with it rearranges how/on what they comment. I'm not 100% on what it does I just opened it in TESEDIT once.
  8. I see where you are coming from, it is just a game, but it is a role playing game and TES is one of the few that allow you the freedom to 'sculpt' your character into any reasoning/logic you like, you are not forced into a role (so much). As such there are usually rational decisions (that may not be your own) about what quest/route to take that are not just dependant on the loot you expect from following it through. It's difficult to explain fully if you truely don't understand but a quote I remember from an earlier review of Skyrim was "it's one of those games where the journey is more important than the destination" which summarises what I'm getting at. Just look at the modding community for this game, each mod is a different interpretation of how they play their characters. You may play differently but, although it is only a game, genuine thought and reason goes in to the character and when picking the side of the civil war in which you play the pivotal role for the side you choose. Trying to ignore the greater picture doesn't work if you are thinking about it. If I said don't think of a panda it would be the first thing you think of. I didn't mean to go all Ghandi it just sort of happened......
  9. Titus Mede is only emperor by conquest, the Legion has fallen into chaos because it is being lead by a lesser man. If you destroy the Legion rather than reforming it as a dragonborn emperor then who will truely have the strength to fight the Thalmor. The Stormcloaks could win and maybe gain the support from Hammerfell & Morrowind but they would likely have to go up against all other provinces. I completely agree on your points but they are points about Titus, not the Imperial Legion. A unified force is much more effective than smaller groups which can be taken down one at a time. Credit to you though I do actually think now that I should try the Stormcloak path again and just try to think short term rather than long.
  10. I always used to join the Stormcloaks, it felt like I was fighting for freedom against the puppets of the oppressors, but I can no longer do so after reading a certain dossier in the Thalmor embassy. The only thing that has really swayed me from this is talking to a family in Riften (can't remember the name). I know that doesn't help you much.. sorry.
  11. I hate the Thalmor! To the point where I place an 'Amulet of Talos' on every one I kill. If they do make the Redguard DLC about them I think I may never play another game again, although that is what I said when the Horse Armor DLC was released for Oblivion ;D
  12. I believe the name Redguard has a good chance of still involving the Thalmor. Supposedly the resistance in Hammerfell is still ongoing..... I wish this too, I have yet to play a character that doesn't murder every last one of them... UESP Link: http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Hammerfell " After the Oblivion Crisis, Hammerfell remained a part of the Empire during the Stormcrown Interregnum, which ended when Titus Mede seized the Imperial City and was proclaimed Emperor. During the Great War against the Thalmor-led Aldmeri Dominion, Hammerfell fought with the rest of the Empire, and was invaded by the Thalmor forces. When the war ended, Emperor Titus Mede II ceded a portion of southern Hammerfell to the Dominion and outlawed worship of Talos throughout the Empire. The Redguards, outraged, continued to defy the White-Gold Concordat, forcing Titus Mede II to release Hammerfell as its own, independent state. The Redguards eventually forced a stalemate with the Dominion, leading to Aldmeri forces withdrawing completely from Hammerfell. "
  13. I'll do my best but even with my skills I don't think I could recreate SMTV Live. Saturdays have never been the same...
  14. Like I said anything under 15mb is normal, perhaps a little over too. If it starts bloating you will see a massive increase in mbs, 300-600kb seems reasonable for a couple of hours play time.
  15. But then she could escape? You should be able to tether companions like you could with creatures in Black & White.
  16. I've heard of the problem with heads disappearing is to do with older version of the Race Menu mod. If you have that try updating.
  17. Nvidia did an indepth guide of all the .ini tweaks. The .ini tweaks on the linked page are usable without a Nvidia card if you don't have one. http://www.geforce.co.uk/optimise/guides/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide#1
  18. That's probably where I'm going wrong. I don't think many Champions have a coffee and Haribo for breakfast. We can't all be astronauts... Thank you! I make many a day, that's what I can do with a lvl 100 smithing skill and all perks taken I CAN MAKE ANYTHING. I'll make you a Saturday tomorrow how's that?
  19. Hahaha I was thinking of this Btw Dr Pepper & ham & cheese? Sounds lovely....
  20. I auditioned but apparently they only have places for adventurers (with knee guards) as they are looking for some old book... Plus when you're trying to reach high notes... and you're Dragonborn.... well, it doesn't go well... One of the judges got flung out the window and I think I froze the other... Wooopsy
  21. That's part of the joy of Bethesda games. They're like the incoming wave about to wash your painstakingly elegant sand castle into the sea.
  22. Ok so firstly have TE load ALL of your mods that are active. When that is all done expand the Skyrim.esm folder and search through Factions/NPCs/Leveled items & Spells for conflicts. These should be marked in red. To make it slightly easier you could apply filters to load only those folders to do this: right click and select 'Apply filter', on the middle section of the next page select the folders I mentioned. You can use the filter to further narrow the list to specific names or lists, but doing this individually for each NPC or leveled list will take a LONG time (TESEDIT searches all records in all mods each time). If you find something relating the the Mages College vendors that comes up as red, scroll across the right side of the screen and that will show you all mods that effect that specific entity. Conflicts will be red BUT it may be worth checking the ones that come up green too, these are entities that have been altered (or not altered/dirty edits) and it may be that the problem lies there, although unlikely. Sorry I don't have a better solution for you. Unfortunately unless someone can point out a mod in your list that they know to cause this problem you will have to find it yourself. Edit: check the dialog folders too.
  23. Great! I can stop pressing refresh on the Steam Store now...
  24. Use TESEDIT to look for the problem then, that's your best bet. I'd imagine it would be under the folders of either NPCs/Leveled item OR spell/Faction.
