  1. That a reference to the manga Berserker. However I'm pretty sure that is a reference a mod added. Are you using any of the armor mods that are inspired in Berserker.
  2. Oh god, just saw this in the list of mods waiting for the green light to be monetized: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=430961426&searchtext= Chesko started Early Acces Mods, and now it's spreding.
  3. Well, that is that. I understand your reasons phenderix, and I sincerely hope good fortune smiles on you. Personally I don't like the direction things are heading towards, however we must admit that the monetization of mods has some compelling arguments at both sides.
  4. Yup. On a lighter note, the great sheson demands his firstborn in the bethesda forums. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1516829-discussion-for-workshop-paid-mods-thread-5/page-4
  5. So this happened (look for schlangster's): http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1516818-discussion-for-workshop-paid-mods-thread-4/page-5 You know, I was fairly optimistic about the future of this situation, but now...
  6. Nope nope nope nope and soooo much nope. Aside from it being a terrible idea, it could backlash against other modding sites or in the worst case scenario Bethesda pulling the plug on modding capability in their future games.
  7. Now the Shadow Scale Set has also been uploaded. And so it begins.
  8. Well, thats what I ment. I know about people pirating mods on steam and claiming ownership. But before today, the issue wasn't nearly as bad. Now that money is involved, the entire situation is going to turn ugly and nasty. The other problem is that, we all know paid mods are not going to stop at Skyrim - we all know that this is valve testing the waters, Its not going to be long before we see the flood gates open to paid mods for Fallout series or CounterStrike series, and future ES titles. Yeah, I agree. On another note a while ago somebody uploaded to the nexus the "Watcher Staff" that was part of the "debut pack". When I checked it the supposed author's name was composed of the same name that it has in its steam workshop (Jeremy Klein). And now it is under moderation. It could be that the original author decided to upload the mod on nexus as a way to extend an olive branch (hopefully). Or it could be that somebody that bought the mod uploaded it. And that is setting up a dangerous precedent in my opinion.
  9. Mod piracy has been happening for a while. There are many people on steam that download mods from the nexus and uploads them on the workshop. Back then the problem was authorship. Now with the addition of paid mods things will be a hell of a lot messier.
  10. Chesko has released an open letter to the skyrim community talking about the most recent controversy: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s53/sh/3c4f3e29-9b4e-41cf-9a72-1b3ed9f70c62/c727dccbb3398aebb5946afac7faaaea Here's a post from him as well: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/581559-frostfall-hypothermia-camping-survival/page-1410&do=findComment&comment=24561944 Also in the post made by Dark0ne: trainwiz, elianora and other modders have stated that thier mods will stay free. Whatever happens now, it is important to remember to stay calm and rational. Before we start condemning mod creators we should wait and see their responses. Has anyone heard what the skyui, skse or arthmoors say about this?
  11. In response to post #24565434. #24565459 is also a reply to the same post. Blademaster1215, the next true prophet of our generation.
  12. This sounds like a really good idea. Im kinda surprised actually that nobody has aparently ever though about this. It would be nice if not only frostfall could be widget-ized but also wearable lanterns. Something like a little lantern image would be nice to have instead of the deafult bar that is displayed. Sadly I have no usefull modding skills (yet) but I really think the making of this mod should be pursued. Hmmm... you could try asking chesko? Anyway, great idea!
  13. Wow, this looks really good! Aaaand if this mod ends incorporating reasonable situations were you will have the need to swim across large distances, then maybe you could turn argonians into a more useful character choice (special abilities wise). Not that they aren't but, seriously Bethesda, waterbreathing? If this mod does take off it will be interesting to see underwater exploration actually done. Which was not very good in skyrim (Almost non existant. Or maybe I didn't swim around enough?). How do you make underwater dungeons actually viable anyway? Water in skyrim tends to be murky and if the mission blindsighted of the Thieves guild questline taught me something is that finding you're way underwater can be disorienting. And lethal. Well, at least it would be a concern if there is any swimming involved. Are you thinking of doing something with the maormer or sload races? Or the dreugh as juanimillonario said? Anyways, good job guys, and keep the dream alive!
  14. I'm drooling just thinking about it...
  15. Well, I don't know of any mod that does what you're asking for, but maybe Smart Cast could be what youre looking for? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43123/?
