I also went back to Skyrim LE after several years gap. Before starting, I went on youtube and watched a bunch of videos made by Gopher. I think he is very talented at explaining clearly and simply. I found this very helpful: no problems restarting with oldrim.

I think Gopher made some videos on youtube about Vortex. Hope this help. I am in the same situation gamewise and agewise. I'll keep an eye on your thread to see what comes out.

I have a few thousand hours fiddling around. Must have play 5 minutes, though.

My wish: that the whole modders community that made Skyrim what it is do the same with TES 6. I don't expect anything from Bethesda.

I enjoyed the comment about "everyone is running around as an underage school girl with oversized... parts"! I have always been mystified as to how physics work in Skyrim: these underage school girl should not be able to walk, much less run around. They should topple over. Thanks for the mod list, some interesting stuff.

Have a look at Gopher's videos on youtube: they are very clear. I am back at Skyrim after few years and did a refresher course about NMM, LOOT, CBBE, etc. Everything went smoothly. When you install a mod, don't forget to read all the docs provided by the modder, especially the incompatibilities with other mods and the special settings required.

Never had a problem with NMM. I was using BOSS at the time to sort out the load order as well as reading the comments of the modders on their own mods (e.g. incompatibility). I started to play Skyrim again a few months ago and I am now using LOOT with NMM. Go on Youtube and search for Gopher: he made excellent and very clear tutorials for NMM, LOOT, etc. Before starting to play again, I gave myself a refresher course with Gopher's videos: everything went smoothly.

Open Steam. The first tab is Steam. Click, second line: Go offline. Close Steam. :-)

Suggestion: watch Gopher's video about NMM on youtube. It's very clear, short, and to the point. It helped me. It might help you.

@Arlen1000 How can you circumvent Steam? I bought the DVD for Skyrim but I can't play the game if I don't go through Steam. It's a bit insane.

Will the next time paying for mods be with the next game released by Beth (next TES, next Fallout)??
