  1. I wonder if anyone at Bethesda is checking out this thread in particular and going WTF? NERDS!
  2. Here......by far the best armor compilation mod for Skyrim around. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733 Beats the snot out of anything WoW has. All the armors look realistic and functional and they are higher resolution than 64x64 which is what the WoW pics look like they are running at.
  3. I really really want to play an alchemist/enchanter type character but the poison system is spectacularly crappy. You get one strike with a melee weapon or one shot with a bow/crossbow and you have to repoison the weapon. Oh but don't worry you can use up a valuable perk point to get two strikes or shots per weapon. :wallbash: Is there a mod that increases the number of times you can use a poisoned weapon before it becomes useless. Preferably something time based so that if you poison a weapon it will give you 60 seconds or 2 minutes of poison damage before it wears off. I have found some mods that increase the number of times which works but the time method is less easily abused and leads to planning ahead so you don't waste precious high level poisons. Thanks in advance. :)
  4. Ironically I just downloaded Better Vampires that I saw in Gopher's video precisely because it has a hardcore mode that kills you in seconds if you are in the sun. :P I can't stand that all you had was loss of regeneration. All you have to do is find or enchant two pieces of jewelry one with regen magic and one with regen stamina and you are good to go. Better Vampires did have an option to disable the sun damage but I don't know if it specifically for the health damage added by the mod or all negative effects including the vanilla ones. Also Dawnguard fixes the issue SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER All you need to do is give elven arrows to Serana and she will give you arrows that block out the sun for an entire day. She does 20 at a time I think so that covers you for almost 3 weeks in game. All you have to do is shoot the sun once a day. It isn't that hard.
  5. I still play STALKER SHoC and mostly CoP to this day. It simply blows Fallout 3 and Fallout NV out of the water in gunplay mechanics, monsters and environment. It has obvious weaknesses in that the xray engine is perhaps the only game engine that is actually worse than gamebryo when it comes to optimization. STAKLER CoP was fairly well polished but STALKER SHoC was buggy as hell and Clear Sky is almost unplayable with all of its bugs. Its quests also are a bit lacking as they are just basic fetch something or go talk to someone quests for the most part. Not terribly complicated. The Fallout games have more fleshed out worlds and better quests overall its just that the actual gameplay mechanics suck so bad. I hope that Bethesda hires developers that have actually worked on FPS games for the next Fallout. I am both excited and worried at the same time. I am excited because that means there is a possiblity that there will be a new STALKER game. Yeah! :D I am worried because it is Bethesda. One of the reasons I liked STALKER is because it was created by a developer that is the antithesis of Bethesda. STALKER was more difficult than most shooters on the market. You couldn't fast travel everywhere. You could be killed in seconds at early levels by most enemies and even on high levels some enemies would own you if more than one of them showed up..........bloodsuckers and controllers anyone. :) You could die just skipping along and not noticing the gravitational or electrical anomaly in front o you and ZAP! your dead. Bethesda games are fun but they are designed for little children and their mommies to play. Everything is easy and "accessible" so that anyone can play and not get stressed. This is probably good marketing and maybe it sells more copies overall but it completely ruins the game in the long run. I always end up having to use lots of mods to increase the difficulty in Bethesda games. STALKER CoP I could just throw on Master difficulty and I was set to go. Not much else was needed. The mods I use for my STALKER games mostly just add new guns and armor and new quests. I also LOVE the STALKER mythos and the gameworld. I literally freak out when blow outs occur and the mad scramble to find cover simply has no equivalent in any other game I have played. For those of you who haven't played STALKER yet. Every day or so at random times an emission will occur and will kill everything including the player if they are caught outside. When you hear it coming you have to immediately find cover within 30 seconds or so or you will die. It is simply one of the simplest, elegant and best additions to gameplay in a long time. Oh and you have to repair your gear or find new stuff......something that Bethesda decided was to difficult for Skyrim players.
  6. I also counted them twice when I first go the game. I have the numbers somewhere in a text file. :) I counted them the first time as each level up being a step and then I counted them again with each separate block as a step since if you look at them they all have slabs next to eachother. :) Neither way brought me anywhere near to the 7000 steps that they advertised and I specifically remember Todd saying that there definitely was going to be 7000 steps. I wonder if he didn't realize how big that number actually is.
  7. Just do what I do. Grab the Alternate Start by Arthmoor and when you get to a certain level and feel the game is becoming boring just start over. I agree that the most fun in the game happens to be the first few levels where you are scrounging for money and frankly the weapons and armor look far better than the cartoony anime high end gear you get later on. Glass looks about as sneaky as a giraffe with tourettes syndrome and ebony weapons are just awful looking.
  8. I have used ACE since it was released. I am sure that if Athyra survived the attack that when he gets back he will fix crossbows.
  9. The best explanation I have heard is "how" you play the game and it also overlaps with people who use first person or third person views. Do you play yourself in the game and do you make decisions based on your own logic and reasoning or do you play the character? If you are just pushing a character around like a chess piece then it is much easier to play in third person and play as another race or the opposite gender. I don't have an issue with this as I love games like Mass Effect or The Witcher where the protaganist is already fleshed out for your. However games that allow you to create your character from scratch are much rarer so when that happens I take full advantage of it. Virtually all my TES characters are human with the possible exception of my Orc barbarians who just happen to be the most fun to play. All of them are male as I tried to make a couple of female characters to see what the fuss was about and I just couldn't get the appeal. Another thing that motivates people might be the "realism" factor. I am sorry but skinny little models with huge boobs wearing bikini armors and dual wielding war hammers that are bigger than a basketballs just annoys the history buff in me and of course sends my "realism" detectors into overload. That being said I love playing females in MMOs when I do play them from time to time. You wouldn't believe the amount of high level gear and hard to get crafting materials you can get just by giggling and typing /dance in the console. :D Lots of horny people on those games.
  10. Oh thanks. Just what I was looking for. :) Of course I already disabled him and spawned another Ghorbash which solved the problem. Unfortunately it is like I am playing with Ghorbash's twin brother who happens to have the same name. I miss my real Ghorbash. :(
  11. I am using a multie follower mod, EFF specifically and in many of my games one of my followers ends up with some weird issue where they walk and run at half speed. For some reason it is always Ghorbash or Mercurio but usually Ghorbash. It isn't the hire/rehire encumberance thing since I never fired them in the first place and it only effects those two npcs. I looked in the CK for something that might be causing it but nothing stands out from the rest of the follower npcs. I tried disable/enable already and was wondering if there was a way to set an npcs speed back to normal through the console. I couldn't find anything like that on the UESP site and I really really miss my Ghorbash. :(
  12. Not a big fan of the feeds. I have to spend enough time reading comments on mods that I am currently using or keeping an eye on the last thing I like seeing is even more meaningless comments on the front page. Please make that aspect purely optional and better yet on a separate page. edit: Just saw that I can change it with the preferences. :) All is good now although I still liked having the Hot files and New Files just below the main banner. I agree with the other posters that the original layout was far superior since the important information was easily assimilated with only a quick glance. Now I have to go all over the page to find new mods and hot mods etc. The comment feed is just background noise at this point. This isn't Facebook after all. :)
  13. Skyrim's magic system is infinitely better than Oblivion's minus the lack of damage scaling for destruction and illusion being OP early game. In regards to casting spells you shouldn't be able to wear full armor and wield both a shield and a big sword and still cast spells, that is just silly. Oblivion was borked in that the absolute best class for any situation whether it was stealth, magic or melee/archery was the heavily armored mage. Skyrim did away with that for the most part with the perks system and I am glad for that and I am glad they took lots of combat and magic ideas from Bioshock and Dark Messiah. That being said there is a mod called GR Hotkeys on nexus which allows for spell casting from a hotkey. I don't know if it switches your weapon out and then casts or just casts straight away. The only reason I am no longer using a hotkey mod is because I am waiting for an SKSE version. :) Script Dragon takes to long to be updated. That is not a knock on the author who does great work it is just that he is only one guy versus the team behind SKSE who have their program updated literally within hours of a patch release.
  14. Is there currently any word on an upcoming SKSE hotkey mod. Oblivion had some hotkey mods that used OBSE and I am assuming that a lot of the scripts were carried over to SKSE.
  15. WOW! This is in my top ten list of game of all time. :) I am assuming that the people on the official forums were notified because I would love to see a more organized format for all the mods they have over there. It's a bit of a crap shoot mod hunting over there because some of the info is never updated. At least now people will understand when someone says they wish Skyrim's battles were more like Mount and Blade's :P
