  1. I'm not fond of either group.

The Blades are too strict to the 'we must kill every dragon'. I like Paarthurnax, and having a dragon as a friend, cool. However, I do like the fact the Blades are willing to get involved when something happens, and they are against those darn Thalmor.

The Greybeards and their attitude that we don't get involved is irritating. They are willing to sit by, watching the world crumble and do nothing about it. I'm the dragonborn! I can't sit around and do nothing. However, their leader is a dragon, can't get a better leader than that.

  2. Let's see:

    1. I do think women did fight alongside men, not in great numbers, but they were there.

    2. Yes and no. There was sexism, but it also depended on the civilization. I think we would be surprised at how they acted towards each other.

    3. I don't think having women on the battlefield means much of how developed a society is.

    4. I would say it's pretty equal.

    5. I usually look at this in the following manner.

Say you have two groups of 10 people. In group A, 1 man 9 women, group B 1 woman, 9 men. If every woman get's pregnant, group A will have 9 kids, group two, 1. It boils down to simple numbers, and in our past, the next generation was a resource required for the survival of the tribe, village, empire, etc. Add in the fact that child birth wasn't without danger, it begs the question, do you allow the woman to do two dangerous jobs, or one? Where does each sex fit better as a resource piece?

Another way to look at it, which sex is more expendable? That was a very real question to our ancestors.

  3. Never been much of a conspiracy person. Its easy to twist a fact for your opinion. Usually a larger fact is hidden or never mentioned. What do I mean, I use the following as the example.

Banning a dangerous compound called dihydrogen monoxide, or DHMO (anyone who knows chemistry probably knows what this is, but follow along).

-DHMO is a major component of acid rain.

-DMHO in its solid form is known to cause tissue damage.

-DHMO will burn a person in its gas form.

-DHMO kills thousands each year due to swallowing.

-DHMO causes billions of dollars worth of damage each year.

What I said was true, but what I didn't say was DHMO is also more commonly called water. It is a major component of acid rain, without it you would not have rain or acid. We usually call the tissue damage frostbite, and we can get a steam burn. Thousands each year die due to drowning, if you want to get even more emotional reaction use children. And flooding causing damage everywhere on the planet.

Getting someone to believe something is usually a matter of knowing the person a bit, and using the right facts.

  4. All states have problems with redistricting, even democrat states, and there are calls that they are partisan in what they draw up. Saying that its just a republican thing is being naïve.

Politics is like water, constantly shifting and flowing. What is now, can change quickly. Democrats need to be wary, they hold power. Only 10 years ago the GOP seemed to be on the rise, and people were talking about the demise of the democratic party. If the democratic party was healthy and solid, I might believe you colour, but there are so many fractures in both parties that it won't take much to change the landscape of politics.

  5. The only real problem I have with this entire situation, is other countries condemning the USA. They all do it. As for Snowden, I'm conflicted, I see both sides of the story. So I think he should be given the medal of honor while being tried as a traitor.

  6. The problem is, despite being set up for the right reasons, it is a program that suffers from abuse. That abuse makes it more costly for every law abiding citizen in this country. Also, why is it, that those who go into such programs, seem to stay in the programs. I thought the idea was to help out for a short time when someone had problems, enough to help them through, not supply them a lifetime of support.

  7. God help us all.

This is good, it's a former Soviet citizen trying to put the "Occupy" people straight, it starts with an Anarchist who seems to be fond of communism and goes downhill from there.

I love that video, he's also done a few other videos as well. Reminds me of my first real interaction with someone from a communist country, a history teacher's mother, who was visiting from Poland. She was amazed at a small grocery story, she had never seen so much food in one place in all her life (and that was only twenty years ago).

  8. When witness take the 5th, and the head of divisions can't even tell you who, or how many, people are investigating it, something smells rotten. I want to know the answer to the question who made that list. If they make so many lists, then show us a few. If many liberal groups were targeted the same as conservative groups, then we would have seen it. Like I said, something smells, and I want to know who, and how it can be prevented in the future.

  9. I know I'm not for supporting any side, or giving them money or arms. Personally, let them fight it out, let a clear winner come forth, and deal with that group.

  10. In order for Texas to go blue, democrats would need to change some of their policies, and I don't see them doing that. Take immigration, huge issue here. Government spending, another issue, because we Texans don't want a state income tax. Gun control, I know many farmers who own guns, and it isn't for hunting. In order for Texas to go blue, democrats would have to bend a bit on this issues. Even abortion, I think they might have to bend a bit. Most of Texas doesn't want to be a California or New York, they are proud to be Texan. There is a reason why tourists in Europe say they are either from the USA or Texas. Actually had a tour guide ask us why we said Texas and not the USA like other Americans.

  11.

I would think it to be wrong but not a scandal unless there was direct evidence that proves the conservative administration was directly influencing the abuse.

Then you would agree that we need to investigate what happened, and find out who is responsible? That would either clear the WH, or show they were involved.

BTW colourwheel, if you notice, I put 'scandal' in quotes for a reason.

  12. It is a bit surprising that one of the most powerful government agencies can make a list of 'catch' words or phrases to go after groups and people don't care.

I think this could come back and seriously hurt the democrats, because their party line is 'it happened to both sides'. Sorry, but I want answers, not the party line, and pleading the 5th. I want to know who made up that 'list', did it come from some internal department of the IRS? The WH? Congress? The people deserve to know that truth. I want to know why words like 'patriot' were on that list. Is that word something terrorists are using regularly in our country to gain tax-exempt status?

I guess to me what the organization is doing is more important than if they have some word like 'TEA Party' or 'occupy' in their name. I do have a bit of a problem with the idea that progressive groups were targeted as much as conservative groups. If that had been the case, it would have been mentioned very loudly by people, like those on MSNBC, and even the NY Times and such.

Remember, if you're fine with what happened, reverse the situation. Say a Republican is in the WH, and instead of conservative put liberal and conservative instead of liberal, are you still fine with it, or are you being political? I'm not fine with it, doesn't matter who is in charge. This is an abuse of power by someone in our government, and we, the people, deserve to know and reassured it won't happen again.

  13. Any new Egyptian government cannot be considered an ally of anyone just yet. It is too young, and as history shows us, allegiances change over time.

  14. The TEA Party had one main element, government spending and getting it under control. Under Clinton and Bush II, Democrats would have embraced that cause. But because it went against current spending put forth by democrats, it was villianized. I had been against government spending since Reagan, so I did latch onto it, and was highly surprised when many of my friends, especially my liberals ones, who had screamed and shouted about spending, attacked the group. Looking back on it, I am no longer surprised, their total devotion to Obama and his policies made it impossible for them to see a larger picture.

  15. I had to laugh at a protest in downtown Houston a few years back, in front of the Exxon building. They were protesting oil, and how we shouldn't use another drop of it, and oil was completely evil. Yet, these same people were using a multitude of products that required oil in one form or another, and arrived, and left, in their gas guzzling SUVs and pickup trucks.

  16. I live in Texas, and there are a lot of women who are republican AND conservative, I know that's shocking, but they are.

Perry has made mistakes, I did not vote for him, but at the same time, I read things like this:

Rick Perry is rarely ever under scrutiny over the illusion of his popularity in the state of Texas. Ricky Perry said "What we witnessed Tuesday was nothing more than the hijacking of the democratic process,". The hypocrisy of this statement is appalling considering the only way the state legislature was able to even "try" to pass such an extreme anti-abortion bill was to force it through "special sessions" creating their own rules which in fact are grossly undemocratic to begin with.

and think right away of how Democrats passed the Healthcare bill, yet democrats and liberals don't care that it was underhanded and extreme as well.

You can make a list for both sides, from California to New York, North Dakota to Texas, but to focus on one simply because of politics shows your biased, and a complete unwillingness to be critical of your own side.

  17. I think people should work, as it give us an appreciation of what is needed to do something. When we take something for granted, it becomes lost. There are a lot of people who probably have no idea how to grow a crop, herd animals, or hunt if our society collapsed. They no longer appreciate what is required to have the food at the supermarket, ready for them to buy whenever they want it.

Just because science can make it possible, doesn't mean we should do it.
