  1. This looks interesting, I don't think I ever tweaked my mouse control settings, thanks for the info and I will try this out on my rig and see how well it works :)
  2. Does the same frame rate drop occur in single card mode too ? I know there has been issues with folks using both SLI and Crossfire setups with Skyrim. I only have a single card so perhaps another with an SLI setup can shed some light on this for you.
  3. It could be that this cell has specific scripting that causes this, I think Potema is supposed to be the only entity to raise and control the dead. I am only making a guess of course, but perhaps somebody with more knowledge and confirm if this is the case or not.
  4. Just note this has occurred to me on other Steam games I own too, just by verifying the game cache resolved the problem. Happens on occasion so this is the first thing to try out and then see what happens ;)
  5. No, it's been shutting me down for some reason while in game and I have hovered my cursor over steam and it was saying or stated "Steam-synchronizing." Without the quotes, of course. Shutting it down sure helped the case though. Strange, I still don't seem to have this issue with Steam and I have Sync enabled too. But if the workaround is turning it off then great :)
  6. Weird, I thought Steam didn't attempt to sync while you were in-game, it waited until after you exited the game first.
  7. I've had this happen to me in random locations too, mainly in dungeons but I had it happen in the College of Winterhold too, the Arch Mage Quarters. You want to zone back out of Dragonsreach and save the game, a new full save. Then quit the game, zone back into Dragonreach and see what happens. This works for me every time. I recently had a similar issue with the Temple of the Divines in Solitude and this trick worked fine then too.
  8. No, that doesn't help. You are using the onboard/igp of your motherboard which is limited in it's capabilities. So on games you mentioned above, the GPU requirements are less then that of Skyrim and most other games. You will need to get yourself a dedicated graphics card, however, most notebooks do not support adding in a dedicated GPU like this. You will have to check with HP but my guess is that model will not support this, sorry.
  9. I've been running that version for awhile now and haven't noticed any problems with it. Did you post this on the Open Beta Feedback board yet ?
  10. I'm pretty sure the adult themed content is filtered by default and you have to enable your profile preferences to view it :)
  11. How about this answer: Both features make the game look better at the cost of performance :)
  12. I can confirm that this is the case, whenever you remove the local content of the game, the saves and some of the files, including mods are left as remnants that need to be purged first. Then follow the example above.
  13. To rollback your drivers you have to uninstall the current driver package and reboot your machine, then run the 12.1 install package. However, just released today is the new 12.3 package which includes the following fix: Skyrim: No longer displays flickering and texture corruption. Go to the following URL to get the latest drivers. http://sites.amd.com.../downloads.aspx
  14. The Argonian Skooma addict in Riften, she works at the Fishery and you have to give her a Healing Potion in order to complete the questline to purchase the home in Riften.
  15. Sorry to hear that then, this board doesn't support piracy, play your PS3 version and come back when you purchase a PC version of the game. Okay, seriously. Why would I pay a company an extra $70 just because they made a crappy console port? I paid to play this game and I think I deserve some help with my problems as do all of you who purchased the PC version of the game. No, no you do not if you pirated the copy for the PC. Again, you will have to go back to the PS3 version or maybe you could sell it and use the proceeds to purchase the PC version of the game.
  16. Sorry to hear that then, this board doesn't support piracy, play your PS3 version and come back when you purchase a PC version of the game.
  17. That is a lot of work and glad to see you were able to figure it out. I guess I have been lucky, I have caught her each time I entered into Riften with each new character I created and gave her a Healing Potion right away.
  18. You need to check the version of Skyrim, is it v1.5 build 24 or build 26. You may have downloaded and installed the latest SKSE version that requires the build 26 rather then the build 24 which is what I suspect you are running.
  19. Sorry but that is precisely why Bethesda can't support patching for a modded game save. You will have to either start a new game with the current mods you have and see what happens or strip out all the mods and add them back in one at a time and see what happens. The other reason you had to be aware of with using a modded PC version of the game is that sometimes patches will and do cause problems with your current saved games due to how the changes in the coding work with the mod/mods in place. You could not have been unaware that this could, and eventually would occur.
  20. I would also recommend going into ADVANCED mode Spybot and add the known blacklists to your restricted sites. Just clock on the Mode menu and then click on Advance, it will ask you to go into this mode and click OK/YES. Then look for the immunize button and it will add all known malware/adware servers to this list., effectively blocking these known servers from being loaded into your browser window. Be sure you have updated to the latest definitions too.
  21. I didn't mean to imply I was down with the placebo effect, just mentioned in passing is all, and yes I also like to just roll with it on occasion too ;)
  22. I would concur with this statement, since you probably have a larger frame buffer and of course a faster GPU on that 550 card, it helps to give you a smoother, overall experience in-game :) Also note that the placebo effect maybe playing into this some too.
  23. Isn't there a sewer entrance on the lakeside of Riften ? I could of sworn I found it before but I can't recall if this takes you into the Ratway or not.
  24. Yeah, we're all pretty much having this issue. Like he said, the best you can do for now is to turn the Antialiasing setting to "off" in the game launcher. I wouldn't just use a blanket statement like this stating that most AMD/ATi users are having this problem when that isn't the case. However, I can only add that does this occur if you are using the FXAA Post Process Injector like I am ? Does this make or difference or not as I have AA turned on completely within the game settings. I have yet to see this weird artifact issue on my 6970 and before that I was running on a 5850 without this problem occurring.
