  1. My mods are cosmetic, so here is my take. - motivation, creativity, I start to create mods because by that time i don´t like the models that was available, so i start to do something that would fit my taste. - environment/platform dependency Nexus was good on that because i could put everything here, was easy and fast. - role of the user There are times that users are difficult, but i think is a seasonal thing, today i think the users are nice and polite, really like the interaction, and is a great source of motivation, a "good work!" have it´s value, and the suggestions are nice too, i got many ideas from suggestions. - the role and responsibilities of creators Some authors do not deal with users in a good way, some users are even afraid to ask something to authors, or they expect to get a bad reply... I think this is bad, and all this tos situation could be better if users defend the authors, MA are the product, but the users are the ones that keep the lights on. - role of the content hoster Nexus play their part well until now, don´t show greedy, tell everyone is all about the love etc... Now they just open our eyes that this is a business, and this is difficult to handle, for me at least. - monetization aspect This is a new thing, a problem that steam create, MA needs to be paid, they spend time on that... I think, any hobby that become a work lose something, DP was cool but we lost something in this process, can´t say what for sure. Another part is, me as a CG worker have access to many tools, but i pay for many tools that i would not use in my work but i use in my mods, so my DP money is for the tools and assets i use, i don´t buy a happy meal with it, sure is good to have a help, but i still put money to make my mods, and that is something most people don´t understand. I talk about this with some users and i got replies like "use blender" "there is free software", is hard to read those things because it just shows that most people don´t understand nothing about motivation, i am not asking to be paid for this, wanna help, thank you! I am ok with putting money and time to make this stuff and nexus give me endorsements and dp´s in exchange, but now they want to give me endorsements, dp´s and my work is theirs forever, i think this is to much for me to accept.
  2. All this questions was made in the first day of the announcement, but no answers, and don´t expect answers. They just don´t know, the main objective was "no mod delete", is like spotify forbid authors from removing their music from the platform because would break someone playlist, the excuse is absurd... I am 100% sure the chronological order of the ideas was "no mod delete", then "why?" and then "collections", so, all those questions about blocked users etc don´t have answer yet. What intrigues me is what idea lead to the no mod deletion policy, that is the real reason for all this, what is the future plan, we know that in 1 or 2 years period, mods will get a huge boom with new bethesda game, what they plan when this time arrive i think is the big question. Deleting your account will not help, hidden your mods can help, but put in the reason where we can find that mod, like trophihunter do, if any author want to help, leave to other place, fortify the competition, author made this place, but the users are the ones that keeps the lights on, so let´s focus on bring the users to another place.
  3. For what i see... LL - Best people ever, good forum interface, terrible downloads interface, image limits is a huge down for me, NSFW ads are not a problem because i use blocker. ModDrop - So the TOS is fine, they have a tool/app for manager, the mod page is nice, see a future here, don´t know the download speed. ModWorkshop - Very similar do ModDrop, for what i see in the Payday2 mods, they can be very organized, i like it, still don´t test the download speed or read the TOS. CurseForge - I would say is the best, i try the download speed and is very good, the TOS don´t permit any adult content... ModDB - I think is a good place for big projects Moddingham - I check the site, still don´t register to see how the download area is, but i think this is a down side, more open the content the better in my opinion. Of course, this is just my opinion in sites i see around, for me, i think modworkshop is a good place to start.
  4. No i did not read, i just give a quick look on the curseforge TOS and they say no adult stuff, i have some skimpy mods, so i think there is not for me, the others i did not read nothing. But saying that one of the places i suggest is terrible do not help, i am sure there is somewhere that we can go or at least try to go, because this is the most logical action, nexus will not change their position, i already wrote for some places that host mods asking if they could open a FO4 section, if more people do this, maybe we can bring some attention, i don´t think we will have a nexus clone now, but with time we can have a even better place. Fact is, there is not much talking about this outside nexus forums, i think i see 2 youtube videos about this and some articles in kotaku and other sites, even here, there is 3 or 4 topics about this, and the topics become a dumpster, mods are still being uploaded, so is up to us to find competition, i am very open to any place to give a try, you say modrop is terrible, ok, i will remove that from my list, but there must be more places than i mention.
  5. Shockingly, Nexus doesn't agree with you. They knew the cost of their decision and considered it worth it. We shall see how that works out for them. Sorry to be the guy who will say that, but will work for them... because people here are fighting something that clearly will not change, and people are fighting here on nexus forums, this alone shows how much power they have. I wrote this already but will write again, users are the ones that should be fighting this, not mod authors, they will pay the price (money price), not authors... What MA should be doing is not arguing about copyright, ownership etc... they should talk about other places and take their work and put on other platforms, from LL, moddb, curseforge, moddrop, modworkshop etc... and see how it goes, give the users a option and maybe we can have a change, maybe a topic about places to go will bring more attention than topics about copyright.
  6. Maybe Robin, Stefan or Mike have another vision for how to solve this problem easily. After all, they are in the process of simplifying modding for everyone. this maybe true except for mod authors. the problem is that they are the source which delivers the mods. seems to me a special simplifying experiment here i still do not understand. Nexus is the biggest modding site for bethesda games and some others, there are almost no competition, so they can do whatever they want because there is no place to go, sure many will say there is this or that site, but no site have the structure and the public nexus have. So yes, they have a plan, simple, some MA will leave, more will stay and in time more will come, the numbers are still nice, fo4 have almost 40k mods, don´t know how many authors left, but i am sure is not enough for this to be a problem, is like being mad with microsoft, will you stop using windows? Even now, in the middle of all this storm, there are still mods being released... because not many people care about all this, i think i see two or three youtubers talking about this. But i think this can be a future problem, nexus opened space for competition, price will be a key factor for users and the TOS will be a key factor for MA, considering that in one year we will have a new launch from bethesda, i think there is a amazing window opportunity here for any competition rise.
  7. Really thanks for the other site tips, in special the moddrop and modworkshop, all other nexus competitors i knew about was those forum sites with 20 years old templates. Just a quick thinking about all this... i talked to some user about this on reddit, and all i got was "you are free to leave", when i tell people how much software cost me each month, but money was never the problem, i get answers like "use blender", people that say this really don´t understand what modding is about... And what is happening now is not about the authors, is everybody, with the new TOS, nexus will have THE power over modding community, anyone really think this is good? Is not about deleting mods, i would not delete my mods anyway, is about nexus becoming owners of the community, who should be fighting this is not the authors, is the users, they will pay the price if this works, and i say price in money price, don´t know their strategy, but the goal is money for sure. So... for me, i don´t have so much stuff published, and i will not delete my old mods, don´t see why really, but here is my plan. Nexus is the place where i upload my stuff from a long time, and they have a nice platform, cannot deny that, bug reports, gallery, comments, good permission system, the system is good, so i will continue to use this, what will change is when i will upload my stuff here and how, i used to upload WIP mods, so i could get a feedback from community until i get the final version, now i will upload stuff here in a later stage, normally i break my uploads in pieces, so people don´t have to download useless stuff, now i will upload just the basic of the basic, perhaps only the ESP, textures and other stuff will be all outside. All this of course, until we have things sorted out, now is the time to rise the competition. I will take a closer look on moddrop, see the upload/download speed etc... probably will go there, until then, i am posting the stuff i am working on my patreon page patreon.com/ralfetas all links are public.
  8. The post is pinned in the front page. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7267936-tutorial-mhw-modding-tutorial-links/
  9. Indeed there is something different about the kirin or the gamma sets... i try other replaces and all was fine... Sure we could just use transmog, but i would like to start modding this game...
  10. Hey! Please do not sorry, you are the only who reply :) I double check the ID, i check with this here too https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/articles/16/ Is all good... Really don´t know why they don´t use files...
  11. Hello, Maybe this is a very stupid question... But, i hope anyone could help me. I am trying to make Kirin Gamma the same way Kirin Beta (that have better textures imo). So, i extract the original chunks, copy the pl035_0010 folder, and rename everything to 0020, nothing happen... I try to make the alpha looks like the beta, doing the same thing, and nothing... What i am missing? Thanks for any help!
  12. In response to post #56122566. #56123061, #56127651 are all replies on the same post. I don't think so, because for what i see, you can do a lot with this DP points, for example, i ask for donations on my mods, just because i spend money on making them (software), so the donations help me, if there is the store front that i can use the DP point to renew my substance subscription, without the need to use money, i would love it! If i could take any DP i earn and donate to a mod author that i like (caliente for example :) ) i would do this and don't need to spend "real" money. Of course mods that have lots of people involve can get problems, but this happens even without money, they can just agreed to donate the points, or will just have one more subject to fight.
  13. IMO, i just think they should leave the community alone, they already manage to split the community many times now with bethesda.net, skyrim se, prizes etc... Each one should stick were their are good at, they are good in making games, the community are good in fixing the games. But they are business, they need money, re-releasing the same game over and over should not be profit enough... And i still remember "each update will have addons", "mods will never be charged", "our DLC will be based on the people feedback" etc... so much BS...
  14. Hello! I got the black version of the corset (the one Cait use), i love it, but is very very low resolution... Anyone wants to make it better? Thanks!
  15. I alrady check the categories, but like skyrim nexus, newvegas nexus have a lot of stuff, new and old, for example, crimson tide is on top 10 endorsed mod, but enhanced blood texture is on top 10 too and is more updated and have less bugs. Same goes for ENB´s presets, textures etc... For the walk animation that don´t seen like floating, i still don´t found nothing.
