  1. I had the Campfire mod at one time and had numerous CTD issues. As soon as I removed it, the CTDs cleared up. Might try seeing if there is an update for it, or re-install. May not be your problem, but it was for me.
  2. So, I have created a couple of followers for my own use, and they work great on my desktop machine, Windows 7 32 bit platform. I also have a laptop, Windows 10 64 bit system with the same game, but the mods are not recognized in the game. It's the same LE game as the desktop machine has. I have made sure to place all the files in their proper locations, and checked all he ini files. Everything is exactly the same in both games. In case you are wondering, both games are registered and verified with Steam, so no illegal stuff going on here. Anyhow, all my other mods work fine. Just these two followers for some reason are not recognized by the game. Anybody got any ideas about this? I also have installed: CBBE and UNP bodies with HTP physics. They are just simple followers created from vanilla skins in CK. Everything was imported/exported correctly as far as I know.

  4. Ya. I can see what you think I am, but not true. Don't confuse me with one of those millenial baby's that always cry when they don't get their own way or no one pays attention to them. I'm just old and tired of all the consessions we are forced to make in order to even use devices nowadays. I have been using PCs since they first were made available to the public in 1979. They were large, bulky, heavy , and slow with no internet. I went through the modem activated forums of the day. There were no online games, and email was somewhat of a chore. It's just too bad that the general populace takes instant internet for granted and uses it to peddle their garbage and steal our money and identities. I don't mind complying with whatever policies protect my account and the provider. I am just saying today's loyalties wain at the introduction of stricter security. To answer your original question, there are some financial institutions in the world that set your security for your accounts. I have one that gives me a login, password, and a PIN. I have no say. If I want to change it I have to call the I.T. and give reasons. Then it takes 72 hours. So, yes, some "realms" do exist. But like I said, I'm just old and tired of it. I'll get over it. :pinch:
  5. Our site's security and database security is our problem. Your account security is YOUR problem. A lot of the recent security changes we've made are because users are not looking after their user accounts properly online and are not following best security practices. We have to do this BECAUSE of complacent users, not because our own security is inadequate. I was unaware of the infiltration issues. Engaged mouth before brain. Sorry. I reckon you gotta do what you gotta do.
  6. Gee Whiz Guys! C'mon already! Ya know security is YOUR problem, not ours. This inconvenience is just gonna drive people away. Don't tell us to "get used to it", because the vast majority of us won't, and will seek alternatives like (God forbid) Steam. Why punish us because because you can't keep the Google bugs out?
  7. Ya. The one in the docs folder is exactly the same as the skyrim folder so I left it alone. But, yes I edited the .ini just like you have it here, but still won't work in my laptop.
  8. I'm re-posting this issue as I haven't gotten any responses about it yet. I'm sure somebody has had this same issue somewhere along the road. Anybody? Hey boys & girls, Everyone knows that if you alter the SkyrimEditor.ini you can load multiple master and DLC files simultaneously, right? Wrong. I did this on my desktop machine and it works perfectly. Not so on my laptop. I don't know why. I have located two instances of the SkyrimEditor.ini file; one in the \Documents\Games\Skyrim folder, and the other in the actual game folder \ProgramFilesx86\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim. I've edited them both, but when I start CK and select more than one master, I get the error message and CK aborts the load. I am, at this point, frustrated to say the least. Why does it work on my desktop and not my laptop? Anyone have a similar problem with a possible solution? Any help is greatly appreciated. :geek:    More info: Desktop OS is Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10 (CK works great on this one) Laptop is pure Windows 10 factory loaded (CK won't load multi-masters on this one even after editing the .ini files. This is very annoying as I can't work on my mods away from home.) Anybody got any real solutions for this problem?
  9. I must be lucky then, cuz I have no problems with NMM at all, even after the 6.5.2 update. Been using it right along. Seems to be working fine. Just sayin'.
  10. Ya. Same here. Supposedly, the upgrade only affects parameters for the login sequence for the mod manager. If you don't login, it's supposed to act normally. Problem is now I can't install and activate mods through NMM while using the Nexus. If I download mods manually, exit the Nexus site, and then use NMM offline, it works perfectly. Not a huge issue, but a tad inconvenient.
  11. Someone will correct me if I am wrong here. I believe you need to create a general race model first, then duplicate the model when you generate a new character. Double click on the duplicate and when the edit page comes up, rename it immediately and save it as an .esp file. Now re-open it, edit your facegen data, then hit OK and CTRL+F4 to save that face gen data for that character. It should not affect your other models because you are exporting the facegen data to an established .esp file for that particular character. You need to do that for each character you create in that specific race, otherwise it will export the facegen to all your characters unilaterally within that race category. So this is what works for me. Someone else may have a different method, but this is just the easiest way I think, especially if you are going to create several characters of unique features in the same race. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
  12. I tried that, but it didn't make a difference. It always seems to crash when trying to place objects in the render window. I just use my Windows 7 setup. I can sometimes get three hours out of it before a crash. Weird.
  13. Yeah, pretty much what candlepin said. Funny, though, it seems CK has no problem when I use it in a Windows 7, 32bit system, but sucks badly when I use it in a Windows 10 system. And it doesn't seem to matter what your CPU is capable of either. You could have the fastest, most efficient machine on the planet and it will still crash on you. It's insane and very frustrating at times. Just learn to save every time you do something. And hitting F5 doesn't always work. Go to FILE, SAVE. Folks have been waiting a long time for a better version of CK, but it is apparent Beth does not think it's important enough to waste their time on.
  14. You should never use NMM to run your game. NMM is outdated and now and as of May 12 , 2018 (I think) it's login configuration is going to be changed. NMM is no longer supported by its authors, so any problems you have with it most likely will not be addressed with any responsible authority relating to it. Skyrim launcher is the game organizer that comes with your Steam account and is the program that actually controls what your game loads for play, not NMM. You could however use Mod Organizer, which is a PIA to install and learn (I have never used it), but you can actually use it the way you are trying to use NMM. NMM is ok for intalling and uninstalling mods, but that is all it is good for today. Steam launcher and NMM WILL conflict with each other, but Steam Launcher will prevail.
  15. Start your Skyrim launcher and let everything load. Then scroll through the list and uncheck the ones you don't want loading when you start the game. Exit the launcher. Start Skyrim as you normally would. Those mods will not load now. Whatever you do, don't delete them. It may have adverse effects on your gameplay. They will remain in your computer, but they won't activate.
  16. It helps if you spell the target destination correctly, I guess. LOL! I had two letters switched in the name. Changed it. Went right to it. Duh! My follower don't go with me though. Anyone know why? From what I've read my follower should go right into the new world with me. But that ain't happenin'.
  17. Did some more searching this morning and found posts and articles that suggested that coc markers will generally put you in the center of a cell rather than a specific spot. I'm thinking maybe use a different kind of marker. Just gotta find out what's best that will also work with fast travel. I'll play with it. I'm not in a big hurry to get it done.
  18. Thanks greyday01, that did the trick. Now it takes me to right area, but I am ending up inside a rock about 25 yards from the marker. The marker is on a dock about 50 ft from the shoreline. I suppose could remove the rock, but that wouldn't resolve anything. I tried to edit the marker, but I don't see anything that looks like a distance or proximity setting. Any ideas on that? I did resolve the buildings issue though. Seems I needed to load the correct DLC for the buildings (DLC02) for Solstheim. At least something worked right today.
  19. Ah, that makes sense. So it's dependent on the individual cell. So that holds true for all exit/entry points in the worldspace then?
  20. Ya, tried that. I obviously did something wrong. I guess not all tutorials are failsafe or definitive. When the CK starts crashing on you, you know you did not do it right.
  21. I am attempting to build a new worldspace for a mod I'm working on, but I am having difficulty finding buildings. I want the Dunmer rounded structures like those in Solsheim, but I can't seem to find them in the CK. Does anyone know where these might be located? I can find the standard Nordic structures like houses, dungeons, etc. Just can't seem to locate the Dunmer dwellings. Also, I placed a coc marker on my worldspace, but can't seem to get it to work. The .esp file is loaded in the launcher. Does the marker have to be named the same as the .esp? Thanks.
  22. Ya, I gave up on Norton a long time ago. Is too huge and complicated, and ties up your memory cache (although it says it doesn't). I quit using FF when the recent update made it run excruciatingly slow on both my machines. I just use Chrome and Windows Defender and I have had no problems with viruses or infiltration in the last five months.
  23. I really don't see how that world work unless it was restricted to a basic game for all with no mods. Otherwise all the players would have to have the same mods to be able to interact and be playable. I don't see it happening. Besides, my experience at least with multiple followers is that if there is more than one or two, they generally get in the way and screw up your play. Can you imagine 8 Dovahkiins vying for the number one slot? Sounds like chaos to me. Reminds me of another game from the 90s called Quake2 and most recently Call of Duty. What a disaster these were playing on line. Anybody who played them will remember the clusterfxck that turned out to be. Any time you have multiple players striving to be king of the hill, as it were, they end up slaughtering each other. Don't sound like fun to me.
  24. I am assuming this is an entirely new mod you have created and not a copy of the existing Pale Lady quest already in the game. If so, you will have to go into CK and edit her character form. I think you have to activate her aggro aggression box and change all the settings to 0 distance. This means she would attack you as soon as she sees you. I am not an expert, but if that doesn't work you can always deactivate it again. (Hopefully someone smarter than me will give you a better solution).
