  1. I figured it out. Using NifScope I was able to remove the tail without leaving a big hole in her butt. Although, I do believe she should have a tail as she is after all half-dragon. My thoughts are a sort of whip type tail with a spear tip. Animation would make the tail grow from stubby to about 2 feet when she is angry or threatened, and then a full 5 feet and glowing when is actual combat. This woulld make Mour a more exiting companion and worthy of being a dragon. She should also possess some dragon shouts, I think. Any input would be helpful. (I am unable to contact the author for any permissions, so I'm going to consider this mod public domain.) And no, I'm not a friggin' :pirate: .
  2. This follower is quite unique with her own dialogs and special skill sets. The author, however, does not support the mod and has closed comments and discussions about it. Mour is a great companion if you dismiss the sarcasm and condescension. The only disturbing thing about Mour is that her author gave her this hideous Argonian tail that flops around at random and is quite distracting and frankly annoying. Anyhow, I was wondering if any of you feel the same way and have taken steps to correct it by removing the tail. According to TESV5 she is a Breton body type, so the tail had to be added using a .nif editor. I am not very good with that at all and so I am hoping someone has a redux on it. Mour has unique dragon skin, so going into Creation Kit and changing her body type won't produce the same skin texture. But that tail has got to go. I know I'm probably pi**ing in the wind here, but I gotta find out.
  3. They were not there. I had to manually install them in the Data folder. This tells me Vortex is not working correctly. This only happens with hair and armor mods. I checked the Vortex settings and all the directories are correct, yet the problem persists. I am wondering if the problem is in an .ini file. I'll be checking them next.
  4. No, but there is a line under archive that reads 'sResourceDataDirsFinal=' [there is no number] Should I insert something after the = sign? I added the two lines you mentioned and rebooted. No difference. BTW, I checked the Vortex folder to see if all the files were there, and they appear to be. Kinda weird, I think.
  5. I run Skyrim Legendary Edition with all DLC, and am having an issue with Vortex not deploying certain mods correctly. My staging folder is c:\games\vortex\skyrim, and most of the mods seem to work as long as armor and hair are not involved. I recently installed KS-Hairdos (and associated files) through Vortex. Although Vortex reportedly completed the install and activation, when I play the game all the hair textures are either white, black [with purple tinge], blue, or purple. So, this obviously means the meshes/textures were not deployed correctly even though Vortex says they are installed and activated. I also use SKSE (32), and FNIS 7_5. I have HDT Physics 4.0, XPME32 Skeleton, and all files sorted by LOOT in Vortex. So, any clues as to why I am having this problem (other than that I might be just stupid)? Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. My experience with Vortex is that it takes a long time to load. You must log into Nexus first and you must be online because Vortex uses your Nexus login to identify you. On my laptop, Vortex takes almost 1.5 minutes to load. That's a long time if you are sitting there waiting. So make sure you are connected and be patient. Again, this is just my experience. Someone with a super whopper machine may have better results.
  7. When you install Vortex, it changes your directories to what you specify. So, if you choose to go back to NMM you also have to re-configure NMM to recognize the location for your downloaded files so it can find them. Also, starting with the Beta version 6.5.3, NMM inserts a login box which usually resides under the main screen. Just minimize the main screen to see it. Once you log in you should be good to go. NOTE: With NMM you don't necessarily have to be online to login. Obviously you do if you need to download a file, but to re-install an existing file, you don't. I have Vortex installed on my laptop and I dislike it very much. It's like a lumbering elephant; extremely slow and time consuming. I, too am considering going back to NMM.
  8. The conflicts seem to be relative and not resolute. Vortex actually tells you that though conflicts may exist, it doesn't necessarily mean the the mod or plugin won't work. For instance, I have six different Apachii hair files and Vortex indicates a conflict with all of them. But I need them for may game to play correctly. I dragged and linked them all together. That basically changed nothing as the conflict flags still appear and all the Apachii files are still on the conflict list. But my game runs like it's supposed to, so I don't think it's a major issue.
  9. Hmmm..Well, the game runs ok with no FNIS issues. Just can't make that error message go away. I'll just ignore it then.
  10. Vortex continually indicates that I have an outdated version of FNIS, although I have updated it to the latest version. Why does Vortex insist I have an outdated one?
  11. Open Windows defender and add TES5Edit to your white list (allow list). Should be fine after that. You'll have to restart your computer though.
  12. Make sure they are present in your Skyrim Editor.ini file. Open the file with notepad, scroll down to the Archive section ( about 3/4 of the way down and make sure the following exists: SResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Textures.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa If they are not there, just add them 'exactly' the way you see them here. Also, go to your General category at the top and look for bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=0 (it should be somewhere near the bottom of the General category). Change the 0 to a 1. If it isn't there, you can add that, too. Save and exit. CK should run now. If you are running a Windows 10 machine, this may or may not work. Also, make sure you are NOT logged into Steam when using the CK because Steam will auto-update your files and revert your editor.ini back to what it was before. I don't know why. Maybe someone else can explain that.
  13. I put off joining in on the civil war completely. It certainly can be done, but I could only get to like level 25. An irritating aspect is that you are teased with getting the Jagged Crown at Korvajund, but for what? The crown benefits no one at all and doesn't affect any aspect of game play. However, to get it you must join one factor or the other to clear the rubble in the ruin to get to the crown. I have played on both sides, and have found no benefit to obtaining the crown for one side or the other. If you don't join the civil war, you'll still see enough fighting to keep you busy because you are always looked down upon by everyone anyways. Funny thing is, if you do join one side or the other, the only changes are the uniforms and some of the dialog. The rest of the game play is the same for either side. So, flip a coin 'cuz it don't matter at all.
  14. I have been considering switching to SSE on my laptop because the LE version of Skyrim I have doesn't seem to work very well with Windows10. The graphics are laggy and the cell loading process takes a long time. I don't have the best experience on my laptop with this game and would like to improve it. Can I solve this issue simply by using an ENB, or change over to SSE? Pros and cons are welcome. Here are my system specs: Intel Celeron CPU N3050 @ 1.60Ghz 4.00 Gb ram 64 bit O.S. Windows 10 Home Manufacturer- ASUS Computer Corp. Is this system even worth messing with? I have been told it is too low-end to handle a game like Skyrim anyhow because the processor is too slow. I have increased the virtual RAM to double, but I have been unable to overclock the CPU. Am I just wasting my time? o_O
  15. There's an idea! I'll check that out today. Update: Well, that wasn't it apparently. Mod still doesn't work right, and now I'm seeing NPCs I killed a long time ago. I,m pretty sure Windows 10 doesn't like Skyrim anyway unless it SE. I'm playing LE. I'm just not going to buy it again. I'll take it out before I do that.
  16. Yep. And the pics match too. But when I click to load, it loads something entirely different. I have a theory I dreamed up: I, for some reason, start my game while logged on to the 'net, so I automatically connected to Steam and it updated my files. Now, on my desktop machine I am also playing Skyrim, but more advanced at a higher level. My theory is that Steam has taken file updates from the cloud storage and transferred them to my laptop game which is the same game but a different level of play, therefore inserting false files and parameters into it. Am I close, or is that way off?
  17. I do use SKSE, but I have never experienced this issue before in the three years I've been playing the game. I am starting to think there is a hidden folder somewhere with backup saves that is causing his, but I'll be switched if I can find it. I loathe starting a new game (I've done it six times), so that will be my last resort. And, you know, this never happens on my desktop machine; only my laptop. Desktop is Windows7 with Win10 upgrade, and laptop is factory Windows10. Some people say that doen't matter, but I somehow think that it does matter very much. I just don't know in what way. Thanks for the help.
  18. Does anyone know how to fix this? Playing a quest mod and saving it at random times (not autosave exclusively). These saves appear in the load menu as I'm playing and work fine. So now I exit the game, shut down the computer (laptop) for the day. Next day I fire it up, start the game, All my saves are there, but if I select any of them they load a completely different save from the vanilla game that has nothing to do with the mod I'm playing. So what happened there I wonder? Example: Mod I'm running is Rigmor of Bruma. Manual save exiting Fort Black. When I load the save later on, I end up at the Kightgate Inn in north of Windhelm, completely unrelated to the mod. What's up with that? I have not played this mod in my laptop before.
  19. OOPS! Sorry freddark, I don't know what I did there.
  20. Rigmor, I DO get that you tried something new, and I would not chastise you for that. After all, genius and creativity go hand in hand. That said, you don't have to change anything to please me. I played it and loved it, and am waiting for the next Rigmor saga with whetted lips. Perhaps just toning it down a little in her next adventure would appease most of us self-righteous old codgers. (You know we're gonna play it anyway). Still a fan.
  21. Dear Rigmor. I am a great fan of your work. I loved Rigmor of Bruma very much, and could hardly wait for RoC to be released. I played it and loved it as well. Very fine work. But...one thing kind of bothered me. Now, don't get upset or indignant with me for saying this as I feel a lot of others are having the same thoughts. Here goes: I really think that all the profanity took something away from the storyline. I'm sorry for bringing it up. Maybe it's just because I am old (almost 70), but every time I heard the words F**K or S**T come out of Rigmor's mouth it seemed hard for me to have a high regard for her as a "protector" for a virtue lost. Sorry, maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I'm sure I'm not alone here. I just think all that makes her undignified. You may dismiss this as poppycock, which is ok. It's just my personal opinion. I don't expect a reply, but I did think you should be aware. Thanks and regards.
  22. Oh, thank you. I knew it was something simple. Just couldn't put my finger on it.
  23. Hey, So I have been working on and off on a new worldspace, but my folowers (any of them) will not follow me into it. I can force them, but then there is no interaction with them at all. Did I forget to configure something or turn on a switch somewhere? Is it a character problem or a worldspace problem? Driving me a little nuts, but hoping to figure it out soon. Any help would be appreciated. :wallbash:
  24. I am getting a fatal exception error while trying to use Caliente's BodySlide and Outfit Studio. I've tried using the program seperately and from within NMM with the same results. I've tried standard and 64bit versions with no luck. Is this a Windows issue or did I install it wrong? I used NMM to install it. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks for any help.
