I think this is the wrong section.

This sort of stuff is exactly why I posted this a few years back.

I use cheats only in my second play. Purely to see how the game feels from a different, more god-like perspective. However, if I hit a brick wall that I simply cannot manage to pass, I use said cheats, but deactivate them when I feel that I no longer need them.

Why can't all these damn people keep their feet on the ground, eh?

I bet grenade launcher abusing will still be present in MW3.

I finally got it working thanks to this user at the official forums For other Romanians with this problem, visit this topic. Apparently we use the Polish version of the game, which sadly, does not support FOSE. I'll try to figure it out how to get past that as well. Ideas are welcome

On a side note, I've seen a few people having this issue but the threads are old and inconclusive, and most of them dont even have replies.

I am also having this problem and quite literally I am close to throwing the darn game out the window. Like the OP, I'm trying to patch to 1.7 for certain mods to work, however, when it finishes it simply launches the command console for whatever reason, then launches the game. When I hover over to display options I still see it as v1.0. After that, when I exit the game the patcher exists too, and well, nothing was accomplished. I'm running the UK non-GOTY edition, and I'm trying to patch using the UK version as well. Drivers are up to date, windows live + redistributable are up to date (also the LIVE button does nothing, simply grays out the others), been scouring the forums for nearly a day and I am fed up with it. Bought the game from a retailer here in Romania (I'm seeing the PEGI 18+ symbol on the case therefore I'm assuming it's the UK version) and I got the v1.7 UK patch from the official site. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice with no luck, and I even used CCleaner like talisker but that didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, sorry for necroing the thread.

Hmm.. you mean you have weird purple textures on the ground? If so then check out bben's fix for it. If it doesn't work I suggest reinstalling Oblivion. If that doesn't work update all your drivers.

I like it. The unique economic system is a welcoming change for instance. Oh and the fact that there are other things to shoot besides monsters. Graphics are superb, sound is enthralling and last but not least it has a great story. I recommend changing the voice language from English to Russian since it's a more authentic feel and the English one is rubbish anyway.

How'd the campers and tubers treat you? I swear, I stopped playing the game because of them. That and because of other things, and am back to playing good 'ole CoD4. Man how I missed dedicated servers.
