  1. Is anyone out there aware of a mod that adds Oblivion Gates to Vvardenfell? I'm not paticularly bothered about what form it takes, wether it be a spell that you summon them, or randomly placed by a modder, or even requiring you to console in your own Daedra. I just want to be able to roleplay around the time of Oblivion lore-correctly. I have found two things of interest thus far, but sadly neither led anywhere. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3083 Gate to Oblivion: It looks promising at first glance, but the gates are just arches of rock, and the comments section seems to indicate its very buggy. Has anyone had first hand experiance with it and can they comment on it? If there is no alternative I may have to go with this, and handwave why the arches look the way they do... or photoshop every individual screenshot to look more Oblivion-y. Then there was this. This one looks amazing. The gates don't exactly look like those from Oblivion, but they look good. The sky seems to change color like around gates in Cyrodiil (or it could just be an ash storm). AND you can enter and fight Daedra. All in all pretty amazing... and sadly it doesn't ever seem to have been released. Its getting quite hard to find mods for Morrowind these days, but especially in this case, as obviously any google-fu with the words 'daedra' 'oblivion' and 'gate' even with a 'Morrowind' included just delivers Oblivion content. So i'm hoping others may have seen something. Please could someone help?
  2. Hey guys I want to actually 'play' as the Constance Thief Companion, but i'm pretty much completely ignorant of the Morrowind modding scene and need help. Please would someone be willing willing to help with this? Never mind :) Managed to do it easily with the Enchanted Editor.
  3. I'll go check. Edit: Tried it, and it did fix the shadows... while also removing almost all the contrast, making everythign way too light, and practically erasing every other shadow in the gameworld. So, interesting, but not exactly practical. :D
  4. Rather than putting this in the request forum, i thought it better to ask here, as i'm hoping something like it already exists. There are way too many option to choose from for lighting mods, and i'm actually rather fond of Skyrims vanilla lighting. It is supposed to look 'brisk', there is plenty of atmosphere in dungeons, and areas that the devs intended to look impressive do so. My problem is, that the light 'source' seems to be straight up, at an angle. The side of characters that the sun is not on are more or less black, and even from the front it looks like someone has used black spray paint on areas of characters that should just be gently shadowed. Completely black under chins, arms, breats and crotches. Has anyone seen any tweaks that just change the 'spread' of the lights more evenly, like reality? Alternatively, are there any lighting mods that are close to the vanilla lighting, in such away that old screenshots wouldn't look terribly/very different in comparison? I am keeping a screenshot diary, and my OCD likes consistancy.
  5. I'm aware of 'You are not the Dragonborn' but thats not exactly what i'm looking for. It completely locks out the word walls, the majoity of the MQ, and so forth. I want to be able to advance in the main quest still, and use shouts, but I want the soul absorbtion effect not to happen, and the dragons to stay whole when they die. Then, if I untick the mod in the mod manager, to be able to absorb souls again. Effectively, I just want to toggle whether I am dragonborn or not on a given character, and to change my mind when I wish. Please could someone assist?
  6. I want to make a character, a dark elf, but also make a companion version of that character for another future character. The easiest way I figure to handle this, is to use a preset, and then just modify Jenassa to look like the preset in the Toolset. However, i'm running into problems. To start with I wanted to base the character off Dark Elf Female preset 11/12. The blind white haired one. Yet, looking in pre-sets in the toolkit, there is no 12th female. Browsing through them she doesn't seem to exist. Then I decided to work off of preset 3. It looks the nicest with the least amount of work involved. I renamed its formid to DarkElfFemalePreset13, one of the 'nvsible' preset, and then turned it into its own form entry. So I didn't overwrite preset 3. Ingame the presets stop at the 12th. My new preset doesn't show up. So i've since tried to name it 12, and then even 11. It still won't show up, even though its got the 'is preset' box ticked. I do notice, however, that it says it has '0' users. I just don't know what to do about it, if its even important. I may just end up actually editing preset 3 as preset 3. I'm not paticularly attached to it, nor will I likely ever use it for anything but this task. Also, is there any downside to using a preset? Such as, am I ever going to run into 'myself' in bandit form ingame?
  7. So, there are already a few companions out there based off the 'default' dragonborn in Bethesda's trailers and iamges. However, for those of us wanting to roleplay a none-Dragonborn, we still have to 'ignore' the fact that when we kill dragons its our character who takes the soul. Until the Dragonborn DLC, and Miraak stealing a soul. If this effect could be linked to a companion, they would be the perfect partner for people wanting to roleplay themselves as someone other than the Dovahkiin, while also allowing them to be part of the main quest and fight dragons.
  8. Not as in pre-his exstance, but simply before he started to control the people. Would anyone be interested in making/releasing a mod that (until you defeat your first dragon in the MQ) allows you to visit Solsthiem and quest, but has the people living normally, and the shrines/stones unbuilt? Not everyone does the MQ on many of their characters and never becoem the Dragonborn, I know I don't, and thus Solsthiem will never be avalable for them. This is a real shame. Off the top of my head, it would take being able to travel by boat to the island without the cultist attack and reluctant captain, to have the NPCs all follow their post-Dragonborn-MQ schedules, and to 'disable' the standing stones. But then, i'm not a modder. None the less, i'm sure this would be an immensly popular mod. Its a real shame for a whole landmass to be unavalable before a certain point in the main games main quest.
  9. It will come as no suprise that I don't always want to be the Dragonborn in Skyrim, i'm far from alone in that, but I also don't want to miss out on the main quest on these characters either. I just don't want to be the legendary hero. But I wouldn't mind being his companion. I'll copy someone elses post of the mater, as they make the point much better than I... Now, i'm not requesting anything quite as indepth as that, though if someone is up for attempting it, it would be utterly awesome. No, i'd be happy with a companion that looks like the trailer/poster Dovahkiin who functions as an essential companion, and the most important part - who absorbs souls like the PC, at least visually, and you do not. If thats even possible. Maybe also having it be that dragons don't melt unless he is with you, and simply go unconcious or something, via script or effect. Perhaps a trigger that makes him the one to mount up a certain something to head off to the final dungeon. I'm quite happy to ignore that I have the shouts and souls, as thats where roleplay comes in. But ti would be nice to have visuals that match with what i'm roleplaying.
  10. I was playing some adventure games (Dracula: Origins and The Longest Journey) and just walking through a atmospheric graveyard and city street inspired a creative yearning in me. Despite the Bethesda-style games being massive and wonderful worlds to roleplay in, they are very 'specific' in setting. Fantasy medieval and wrecked wasteland, for obvious reasons, and ehavily scaled down because few want to walk miles to get anywere. But note I say few, rather than none. I want to build myself, and mayhaps release it if I ever finish, a big city. Something massive. Set pre-war, though probobly still in Fallout as I don't want to do more than re-texture when it comes to assets. Somewhere I can roleplay a more urban adventure and add a few quests, like gang wars, hits, and maybe do some vaguely supernatural stuff. I'm still not sure what game to set it in, I just posted it here due to this being the current Fallout modding hub. Part of my question is advice in this matter. Fallout 3 has less assets all around (doesn't it?) to work with, but the items and thing from Tranqulity Lane would be a boon. I think there were also plenty of 'fresh' items in Zeta. I'd also want to make use of the tall buildings, unless I make it a town as opposed to a city. However, New Vegas has a lot of different styles of building and object. Problem for me is I can;t think of a single instance where I wouldn't have to give things a cleaner texture. There are enough suitable clothes however, since people dress more 'civilized' than the outfits in the CW. My second problem is... tutorial's plix? The furthest i've even gotten in the GECK is to place items, tweak NPCs, and make custom races. What I want to make is effectively living breathing place. Houses, parks, office buildings, haunted mansions to drop Dracula Origin refrences, junk yards, a school, a military base, perhaps a uninhabited and sparkly Vault. NPCs inside them. Vendors. The first step is learning to make a large, flattish landmass to build on.
  11. Well, it was before Dragon Age 2 more or less killed the franchise for me since i've played Origins. I spent months getting several characters through utterly different playthroughs, ready to import, until I was burnt out. I feel though, that I may be able to play and enjoy another round of DA:O. I have a paticular concept in mind. DA:O had many different fantays creatures, except the one i'm most interested in. Vampires. And in DA:O we have the perfect chance for the Player Character to become the 'first', at least for novelty of a single playthrough. Becoming a Reaver just gives 'normal' people a few nasty abilities, but none of the Dragon Cultists were Gray Wardens already. I think I can headcanon for a game that the combo of defiling andraste ashes, being a Gray Warden, and drinking dragons blood would be enough to create Thedas first blood sucker. It's close enough to the opening of Bram Stoker's Dracula, though as far as I recall you don't imbibe any of the corrupted ashes. All of that is aside though. Its DOING it that is going to be a problem for me, as I have little skill at modding, even if I know my way around photoshop. I want to choose a normal looking character, and only at the point of the ceremony where you drink the dragon blood do I want to change my characters appearance. Paler skin and red eyes.
  12. So... I personally want to be able to roleplay as a Briarheart. A new and interesting type of undead. It is already possible and fairly simple to make the Briarheart armor wearable and add it in game, but thats not precisely what I have in mind. What I am thinking is more along the lines of being able to equip just the 'heart' part of the Briarheart outfit (rather than the fur pants too), and as both male and female too. Having it be in a different slot would be nice; as it could then be paired with other outfits. An option to 'force-equip' it would be awesome too, so that it is always there, as if you really did have an open wound on the chest. I'm sure i'm not alone in wanting this. Its always fun to play as the Undead, and this new 'type' is interesting.
  13. Has anyone else ever noticed the 'Spriggan' heads/faces that can be found on stakes in Forsworn camps? The first time I saw one I noted it would make a wonderful mask. For hunting Bosmer. For Forswarn characters. For parties in the minds of insane Emperors. Would anyone be willing to make it, please? =)
  14. Hey Nexus I'm... going to need a bit of help with this one, and I would really appreciate the help. Its the only way this is going to happen. No help, no mod, sadly. I know my way around the GECK enough to change stats and make NPCs, but thats about it. So I would really appreciate it more experianced modders would chip in with the ol' community spirit. Goals: To make the PC 'Immortal' until beheaded. To spread a dozen or so NPCs throughout the Mojave that are also Immortal unless beheaded. To trigger a massive EMP effect upon the death of the PC or said NPCs. Or a few small ones, followed by a massive one. To give the PC modest stat boosts (probobly in the form of free Perks) upon the slaying of an Immortal. So, effectively there are three things that I need to get a handle on first. First; is it even possible to make the PC essential? I picture the PC hitting 0hp and going 'unconcious' for around 30 seconds. This mechanic already works well enough to handle an Immortals death, I just have no idea how and if it is/can be applied to a player character. Second; i'm not sure how, and if, the best way to handle beheading is a script that will kick in when you 'activate' an 'Immortal' NPC. It might be a bit boring and/or humorous, clicking them, then their head falling off. On the other hand, i'd like to make it so that when they are on the ground you actually hit them with the sword, only the head can be removed, and that in itself would require a script since the NPC/PC would be Essential, and need to trigger a script to add the perk and start the lightshow. Third: i'm not sure how one goes about adding random EMP blasts around a character. More minor things: Perk ideas. Ideally i'd like to add a 'first death' to the player character. Upon death, 'coc' the player to a random location, looted and dumped. Then again, it might be a better idea to simply add 'Immortal' as a perk option from Doc Mitchell. I'd say being double-tapped in the head is a good qualifier for a first death. I'm thinking that a slow but constant health regen would work well as a basic perk. Immortals don't stay injured long. Anyone got any suggestions? Initially i'm just going to work with the blades in game, but if we get a working mod going, i'll start asking around about integrating sword mods - and as a cameo perhaps stick a certain pair of Scottish and (one) Ancient Immortals somewhere in the Wasteland. Perhaps even making a few notable NPCs into Immortals. Off the top of my head, the fitting ones I believe would be: Joshua Graham (since if you take his bandages off, he is fine if dirty), Ulysses, Legate Lanius, and maybe for fun Benny. I would really like to get this mod working in equal parts for myself and for the community. I love Fallout and I love the Highlander franchise, and it would be nice to see a mod that combines them, that I can even port to FO3 since I imagine things are pretty similair, and i'd one day like to recreate it in Fallout 4 whenever that comes. However, i've noticed that people tend to ignore posts from budding modders that need support. Thats a loss for the modder and community both, in the long run. I want to and have the time to put into this - but I need help, as I have no idea about scripting. Any help will of course be credited upon upload to the Nexus.
  15. So. We have Nirn. For thousands of years it has remained pretty much the same. However, Julianos will not allow this forever, and advancement will happen. We already see signs of this in the crossbow and the Dwemer. Technology is slowly creeping forth. It would be wonderful to see a creative project take off. A discussion and then mod on how a City of Tamriel, whether it be the Imperial City or somewhere like Solitude, would look in a later Era. When Tamriel has advanced with technology to our level or beyond, perhaps in a different manner such as steampunk. It would we nice to have a project, community or personal, with a cell of this setting. Skycrapers and the White Gold Tower. Or Elder Scrolls arcitecture amongst modern buildings. Reimagined statues of the Divines and Daedra. Modern clothing with Cyrodiliic influence. A modern Mages Guild. Elaborate firearms, with glass or ebony on their grips. I was inspired by a conversation on the Lore forum, of how Tamriel would be in the 7th or 8th Era. Around this time I also replayed Vampire the Masqurade: Bloodlines with its modern cells and gothic arcitecture and got around to finishing Deus Ex: Human Revolution with its beautiful and stylish take on the near future. The idea of a blend of Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim's gameplay. It will almost certainly never happen, but the idea of an Elder Scrolls, with all our favorite races and abilities, in a modern setting with guns and vehicles, and tall skyscrapers, was and is something that I would immesnly love to play. However, with the amazing modders of the community, we could perhaps see a lovingly crafted cell and resources, and at least have a peek of what could but likely never will be.
  16. It seems Dawnguard will be a different type of Vampire, and it will certainly involve an epic quest. My idea is a simple RP idea to get basic vampirism, in a way even a peasant could fall into. Especially a peasant.
  17. So... you want to be a Vampire... but you may not want to go into a cave and practice your Restoration skill for the next decade, while a weakling Vampire repeatedly knifes you. Or perhaps you enjoy Vampire fiction where the vampire-to-be is seduced by an alluring stranger, only to become prey, and wake up undead. Either way, i'm of a mind that it would be nice to have a simple quest mod. In one of the cities you would find an NPC in a tavern or inn, and they would either take you to a room after 'seducing' you... and then after a fade to black (and a passage of time) you would wake up in a Hall of the Dead. As a Vampire. Thats just a quick and dirty method that would work nicely for roleplayers. Perhaps someone could think of something better? Either way, t would be nice to have an alternate method to roleplay becoming a Vampire.
  18. Hey guys I've found mods that remove all blood or update blood and even that remove the splatter from the screen. What I can't seem to find is a mod that stops the air between combatents take a deathly wound when a blow is struck. What I mean is, i'm sick of hitting someone with my sword and the blood spurting out of nowhere, rather than where I actually hit. I imagine its not possible to make blood come out where a person is hit... so i'd prefer the 'feature' gone entirely. It would be nice if things like the beheading set pieces still had blood, but if thats not possible i'd prefer to toggle the mod on and off, so that I don;t have any more perfect screenshots ruined by rogue jets of blood coming from nowhere.
  19. So, I want to play a Necromancer. However, being stuck with a ~40 pet, that I can't conveniantly change the gear of, whom I can't tell where to stand or attack certain targets. Well, it really limits things. It would amke playing a necromancer much more viable and fun if I could 'talk' to the thralls. Even if all they said was a silent "..." or a moan. Just having the option to trad ethem things, and ask them to do things would be nice. Is anyone willing to take this on? I imagine it would be immensely popular.
  20. Hey all I never spent the time to collect and sift through the 36 Lessons of Vivec in Morrowind, since I got to the game late and wanted to play through it ratehr than exist in it, but with Skyrim I plan to spend a loooong time in the snowy lands. However, i'd like it if it were possible to read the 36 Lessons ingame, and collect them. It would perhaps give my scholar character something to shoot for and to ponder. In the levelled lists and on vendors would be nice, but if anyone felt like puttng them in random locations around the world that would be even better. I'd just be happy to have them.
  21. So, I have become Listener, and slain the Emperor. Is there any way to stop the bloody comments from random npcs/guards? It seems everyone in Skyrim knows i'm in the Dark Brotherhood. And the Thieves Guild. Would removing myself from the faction stop these comments? Or does something else trigger them? Ideally, i'd like to be recognised as head of neither guild. Or even part of them. I'm happy never to go back to the Dawnstar Sanctuary, so I don't care if it makes me unable to recruit the Generic Murderer #3 or Cicero. I just want the guards to stop saying 'Hail Sithis!'. Or that the destruction of the DB is not quite true.
  22. Anyways, I DL'd the mod that allows the Dovahkin to berate Delphine for making such a stupid suggestion and solved things that way. Seemed like the immersive thing to do. Wait, what? =O What mod is this? Want! Want! Since the console command no longer works, this is definetly something I want to be able to do on my roleplaying character. A small 'Fus' to make her stumble and a few sharp words to Delphine, remindering her of her place, would be utterly perfect... yet I haven't been able to find a mod that offers a peaceful resolution. Edit: Scratch that, found it, and it is AWESOME.
  23. Ever since I found out there was boxing tape and gloves, i've wanted a 'street' fighting mod. However, it occurs that the Thorn might work just as well with added options. Would anyone be up to the task of adding a selection of potential bouts to the Thorn? Being able to choose one, two or three opponents already works fine. Bare knuckled settler, as a starting foe perhaps. Then leathered armored lighter with boxing tape. Leather armored with knuckle-dusters. Then for a longer fight, perhaps a foe with combat armor and boxing tape. I would be nice to actual have a reason to fight with my fists, considering in the rest of the game its almost always more practical to just pull a gun. Thats not to say enforce hand-to-hand weaponry; fighting three opponents with knuckle-duster wielding a machette could be 'entertaining' too. I just request this with the premise of a street fighting addition to the Thorn.
