  1. I did, but before the Groovatron itself. Hm, i'll reintallt hem and see if that fixes it. Thanks for that. EDIT: Nope, sadly didn't help. Still ahve the emotion or mood for a split second,t he the face reverts. =/
  2. Is it just me? I'm getting a lot of time-out error messages, downlaods don't had IDs apparantly, and thats if the download windows even load. New Vegas section of the site works fine; and my net seems to be workign otherwise.
  3. Grr. I'm being railroaded! ;) I'm going through my first 'complete' playthrough of NV with a NCR-supporting character with a deep hatred of the Legion because of Nipton. Thing is; i'm one of those people that like their Fallout to be be open-ended. I want my character to 'live' in the wasteland. Spend in game months gambling, hunting Legion, scavanging and all sorts of other fun stuff that can't really be called plot progress. This character would effectivly just want to clean up the wasteland, and since enemies like the Deathclaws don't respawn, thats a strong possibility. However, I can't, because since i'm roleplaying I have no ground to stand on to just go off and do my own thing. There is too much driving a Courier. In Fallout 3 it was different; even before Broken Steel the second you left the Vault you could decide that your character didn't WANT to find their dad because he abandoned them. Cue open ended roleplay-fun-fun time. If you loved your Dad and wanted to find him you could part ways with Madison after escaping the sewers; infact her dialogue is actually perfectly suited to giving you this choice. Your heartbroken and she acts like a domineering cow; perfect fuel for storming off. When they want you to go start huntng a GECK you could just beleive it was a fools errand and decide not to do it - little lamplight was placed in such a way that you had very little other reason to go there, and it took actual efforet or a perk to get in. If you wanted to become a Brotherhood member you could just buy Broken Steel later and play in a wasteland that was actualy a lot better off thanks to you; and with mods from here you could even do periodic Super-Mutant hunts in the ruins with the Lyons Pride. In New Vegas i've been hounded by the plot since I started; the note Mitchell gives you clearly warns even the most careless or cowardly (so they either can't be bother/don't care about Benny, or don't want a repeat performance of their shooting) of Courier that its very likely/almost certain that if you DON'T persue Benny and the chip that bounty hunters will be sent after you. If this still isn't incentive enough Victor follows your the entire way, reminding you that you should be chasing the chip, and if you enter certain locations (Boulder City) the whole thing is shoved in your face again; in that paticular example with the knowledge that not only have you lost an expensive package, you have lot an EXTREMELY important mans package. Dare to step into Vegas? At least three different NPCs approach you; their questlines eventualy leading to the battle at the Dam. In FO3 you could at least just avoid entering Brauns Vault. Even if you ran into Madison, found Dads recordings, ect, the main plot would not progress without going there - and it could be rationalized easily. In NV I feel under constant pressure to 'find the chip!?!'. You stumble over the main plot wherever you go. Some of this is assumption however; since i've actually only gotten as far as Boulder City on this character. However, other characters have just gone sraight to Vegas (killed the bots) and had a look around at which point I experianced the Benny encounter and talked to House; only for Vulps and an NCR rep to both try to imediatly recruit me upon exiting the casino. This character will of course go see the NCR questgiver - but if I read right following that questline will lead me straight towards the End. Is there a suitable point in the story where you arn't under preassure (either through threats, constant encouragment from important NPCs, or personal goals [i.E. supporting the NCR]) to follow the MQ? I can't even roleplay getting a companion properly/easily; other than Boone and Veronica, both of which are very specialized from a roleplaying perspective. Boone with his Legion hatred fits this character down to the ground and he is actually making her reconsider her Cherchez La Femme ways, but thats only on this character who hates the Legion just as much. Veronica could easily be seen as a BoS spy to most Couriers, including my current one, what with how she wants to 'get to know the factions' and asking probing questions. The one companion I really wanted from the start was Cass - she's just aimless enough to present a good companion for practically any Courier - except that if you are roleplaying and not metagaming you won't get her til fairly late in the game due to having to go to Vegas first. Raul? Who in their right mind assaults a super-mutant base? Arcade you again don't meet til you eventually make it to Vegas. Lily? Yes, i'm going to wander into any settlement int he Mojave with asuper-mutant in tow. As for the 'pet' companions they never interested me. =P I now it sounds like i'm complainig witht he bit above - but its actually just me thinking aloud. Aside from the Cass thing i'm not bothered. Boone is an awesome character and companions and Veronica is sweet enough to win over most of my characters from an RP pov. I know I could just use the mod here that lets you play after the ending; but not only would the 'timeflow' be disturbed. Quests would talk like everything was happening in the past. On top of that, I don't want this characters story to 'finish' before the Couriers veiled past is resolved in the DLC as it seems its going to be, and the DLC isn't exacly being released rapid-fire lol. So my only choice really is to put off the main quests ending indefinatly; prefrably at a point in the story that would fit a stalemate (of possibly a few ingame years) between the factions. I realise that from a storyline perspective thats already in place and the battle for the Dam has been one long stalemate. Problem is, the Courier breaks that in the favor of one faction with every quest they do. Ugh. I'm considering retiring the character until all the DLC is released; and hopefully the game becomes open ended thanks to one of them. I think part of the problem was playing an NCR supporter. The NCR has one big goal - retaking the Damn, as soon as possible. Legion are happy to just wait out the NCR as long as it takes. Not sure about the indi path. I suppose one possibility would be to kill Benny/go kill Caesar to get the chip back from Benny after he is captured; and pretend that I never got invited to speak to the Ambassador. Would that work? Also, what point in the story (and which quest) do you officially become a member of the NCR? And is it as a Ranger? Because that is my ultimate storyline goal for this Courier. Advice and thoughts? =D
  4. Hm, probobly best to ask this here. Got the Groove in NV (thanks guys) and its making screenshots a lot faster than using the console. However; I mainly wanted it for the facial expressions. Sadly whenever I select an expression it works for a split second before the face reverts. No time for a screenshot or to active a body-pose. Halp? My screenshots are full of blank looking people.
  5. I'm doing a lot of screenshots lately, but my character always has that thousand-yard stare. I don't know if it's possible through console commands - or what they are if it is - but has anyone released a mod to change your characters facial expressions? Anger? Happiness? Sadness? EMOTION! lol D:
  6. Hmm, outside the NCRCF a large chunk of land is using it's 'distant' textures and meshes and isnt solid. You fall into nothingness if you step on the area. The area is just next to the little Powder Ganger camp by the road. Anyone got any obvious known mods that cause, or did cause before updates, this? It's a hard bug to miss. It's not game breaking or anything, its an unimfortant and fairly small section of landmass, but I would still prefer to find what is causing it.
  7. I'm downloading all the Enclave mods that I can see to make an interesting character; Chloris Autumn, daughter of Colonel Autumn, who I plan to make follow the indi-Vegas path as a double-Agent. The idea behind it is that the Enclave have many bases like Raven Rock, Mariposa, Adams Airforce Base, and even though they are weakened they are far from defeated. My Vegas playthrough will end with the Enclave having decimated the NCR, wiped out the Legion, and finished off the Brotherhood of Steel while getting a secure hold on the Mojave. However, that doesn't seem to be how things are going in the actual storyline. I haven't played deeply enough to actually meet the remnants; but I know many will have. How do the Enclave seem to be faring in a general sense? Or have they (for the most part) just dropped off the radar like between FO2 and FO3? Because that would give me hope that they may not be down and out. They may have been used (in my opinion, since they were treated as villian of the week effectivly) badly in FO3 and apparantly 'decimated' but surely if they could muster such forces on the West Coast and Capital Wasteland then they have more strongholds and such elsewere? And in a sorta off-topic way, what about the Brotherhood of Steel as a whole? Is Lyons Brotherhood now pretty much THE Brotherhood, or is the Mojave branch just cut off and seperate from a larger Brotherhood organisation outside the Mojave? I like the NCR, but I'm not liking the idea that it is now effectivly THE force in Fallout. Thoughts?
  8. Hai guyz. I'm making a character based around the idea of meeting Veronica and becoming fast friends (if not more) and then travelling the wasteland together pretty much indefinatly. However, i've known for a while its possible to utterly mess up the lives of your companions, and even lose them entirely, if you make bad decisions in the quests they give. If I end up ruining Veronica's life or losing her companionship would pretty much ruin the journey I have planned. Please can someone give me tips, if not outright tell me, how to get the best results in her quest? Also, which quest leads me to her earliest in the game? This will be my first proper playthrough. Until now i've just messed around and had problems, but recently reformatted my PC. I have only ever found Veronica once when I was idly running around the map. I seem to remember her being far enough out that you could accomplish a serious ammount in the game before even meeting her. It'd be nice if there was a quest shortly after goodsprings that could lead me straight to her location.
  9. Effectivy I wish to be able to wear clothes under certain skimpy armor and have the fact that I am visible. Turning the armor from showing too much skin; to being protection over clothing. I'm hoping some already exist. I'm not to bothered what clothes they are (though vanilla is prefrable, but yeah) as long as there are some. My poor character is catching a cold! Please ignore this request. Turned out a much easier way of dealign with this was personally turning the skimpy armors into tail-slot items myself and then you can wear clothing under them normally. Couldn't find a way to delete this, so just correcting it.
  10. No problem at all with silent text. Some of the best mods have it. :P
  11. I am so tired of the same guy trying to mug me as I travel around Cyrodil. That same male khajit; every time. I write an RP journal as I go and illustrate it with screenshots. Effectivly this means that I ahve to gloss over attempted muggings after the first few or else is gets silly. How tough would it be, and would it work, to add some other races for the bandits to spawn as? The occasional Redguard? Perhaps an Orc here and there?
  12. Hmm, I can't help with some stuff, but I was once planning on doing something similar. However, things that I know of are primarily for female PCs, since thats what I mostly play in Oblivion. Weapon - Rapier http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7909 Combined with Princess Stabbity or DMC Stylish Idles (depending on your PC gender) this workds well for a Bard or more refined rogue. Outfits - Pirate Outfit looks generally right for a Bard; http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28765 , and recently this awesome outfit was released... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37173 Lute Mods - because what is a Bard without a lute? hit em wid er lute! http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33331 , earn munny wid yer lute http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4660 , and actualy play yer lute http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28307 Dancing - because sometimes dancing tells a tale or draws a crowd beter than words, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29040 Hope some of these are useful to you.
  13. Hey I try to roleplay everythign in Oblivion, from eating to staying out of the rain, but prison is always a problem for that and one of the reasons I rarely play a Thief. Get arrested? Can't do anything but pick the lock, escape, or use to bed to skip time. Is there no way to make it so the bedrolls just work like normal? No way to skip the jail time, you either escape or rot in the cell. If ecape proved completely impossible the console could be used to do so; but right now jail is just a quick annoyance that does nothing for roleplay.
  14. Hey all. I find myself wanting to play the 40k mods that have been released for FO3; however, I wanted to play as an Eldar. Sadly, the Eldar race from the mods have ear-covering hair to diguise the fact that they are just humans. No pointed-earness. Would anyone be kind enough to make an actual pointy-eared Eldar / Elf race? Please?
  15. Hmm, if your willing to give it a go i'd appreciate it, even as easy as it is like you say. I would say that the same as an average NPC; but then, players get a bonus that they don't (such as a brain) and I find I can usually do things with low stats that NPCs have problems with. Hmm, No change to health; being able to flee requires some health at least, and with unlevelled lists the stronger monsters are capable of one shotting you. But, is there any way to set 1 magicka? I've always wanted a character that has no magic training, yet always give into the temptation of those starter spells. All magic schools at 0 (if that is possible) would be wonderful. Aside from that perhaps a 5 in all skills? That way (with stats/health/fatigue left alone) it would be possible, with a great deal of time and effort, to work a character up to adventurer level. It could even in-of-itself become an interesting roleplay scenario.
  16. Hey there I'm after a mod for roleplaying. I want to play a character that is a Slave and wants to buy their way out of it. One way I thought it could be done was an NPC tricks you into putting on a pair of manacles; which would then be locked on you. The NPC would then demand that you work for him; perhaps by bringing him certain items he wants (common, so that it's doable, like a repair hammer or common book), or a certain ammount of gold per week. If you don't...? A script effect would kick in that is a permenant -1 health per second until you return to him to turn off the effect. I'm not entirely sure thats the best way to go about it; just looking for an interesting mod that gives a quest/npc/in-game reason to RP a slave. I'm bored with always being the adventurer. Anyone up for giving a mod like this a go?
  17. Heya I want to play a Roleplay-themed character that is a dancer using the Sexy Dance mod, and Bar-maid job. Perhaps a little work with the thieves guild on the side. Thing is... I also want to have good reason, mechanics wise, for not going out and becoming an adventurer. A good reason for taking a body guard whenever I have to travel. As it is the closest I can get is sticking the game at mid-difficulty. Enemies are pleasingly tough and a one-on-one battle is a reasonable challenge even if it's a bandit. However, I don't want it to be 'pleasingly tough'. I want to get absolutely massacred if I dare to try and fight; but without getting taken out by a single arrow I wasn't expecting, or having to go make a drink in the 10 minutes it takes my companion to kill a wolf that attacked us as it would be if I upped weapon damage or put the difficulty on full. I'm looking for a mod that changes starting stats basically. I want to have basic citizen stats; and aside from creating the character and then using the console I have no clue how I could do this. (Oh, and I don't suppose anyone knows what the mod that turns the PC being killed into 'knocked out and looted' before depositing you in the nearest town is called? Can't find it for the life of me.)
  18. There has been a mod in the works for some time, and they recently changed their URL and as far as I can tell the project has died, as large ones tend to do. It was called empire's Glory. It may come back to life or it may not. As for the Emperor not going adventuring; if you are going to be picky/pendantic then they should also remove the option to be the Arch-Mage, Guild-Master of a Fighetrs Guild chapter, and so forth. These jobs are also supposed to be adminstrative roles, rather than people out in the field. since you would be the EMPEROR it would be well within your powers to take a more hands on approach to leading, and go out into your Empire with your Blades to help the people. no one is going to tell you 'No'.
  19. Heyo I love the fact that NV is slowly becoming a 40k playground. If you want to play Space Marines/Imperial Guard/Sisters of Battle/Tau battling against Orks you can, with companions even as a Space Marine. However, my favored race, the Eldar, seem to have been forgotten so far. Is anybody planning to add Eldar Armor and Weaponry? It all exists in mods for FO3 already, primarily Customizable Warhammer 40k Conversion since it is the only pack to contain female Eldar armor and such, but so far it's not happened. The pointy ears and so forth can be delt with by the NV Wood Elf mod. Hoping desperately.
  20. Heya I have a mod installed that has what looks like a stronghold/palace on top of the mountain above the Ancestrel Moth temple and a flying island with NPCs on it. Only problem is, the meshes/textures seem to be missing because only small parts are visible and the rest are the typical exlcimation marks. I'm thinking it may be Tears of the Fiend, though i'm not sure. Please could anyone who thinks they know which mod this is let me know? That way I can redownlaod and install it. Hopefully fixing the problem.
  21. Ah well, shame about the Lich being indoors. Still... i'm sure Paige and Vilja can take it... *laughs nervously* Yeah, a thief going on to join the dark brotherhood, who then goes onto redeem himself via the Knights of the Nine can be very fun.
  22. This may seem like an odd question... but do you fight the Lich indoors or outdoors? See, if it's as powerful as you say, i'll be looking for a suitable spot to bring in the Dragon to 'save' Paige from a deathly situation. Fighting a powerful Lich that is waaay out of my league would count. Problem is I can only summon the Dragon outdoors or in tall/wide rooms. I was thinking of makin that point the Battle of Bruma; but whats the point in being a Dragon Knight if you are only such for %10 of the game? By the time I get to that point the MQ is almost over, and then it's all fanmade quests and petty stuff. I try to avoid doing every major questline; and just usually pick 1 'guild' or KotN, and the MQ. It's hard to RP the GreyFox, who is also the Archmage, while moonlighting as member of the Black Hand, between his duties as head of the Fighters Guild, when he's not defeating Umaril, or helping stop Mehrunes Dagon. xD My 'plan' this time around was to pick up Vilja (see! back on topic!) as my first companion, do the Fighters Guild quests up til Leyawinn so I can start the Knights of the White stallion questline (and so Paige can becoem a true Knight), then move onto the MQ. I suppose I could grab Vilja, do HoD, then move onto that order of things.
  23. Ho-hum. I see. Thank you for letting me know. I may make it the first majot undertaking my character does then. :) I like the sound of Kat, but frankly Paige is already going to have more girlfriends than she needs. Dublin may work as her significant other.
